There will be one more chapter after this one because of two reasons 1) the story is coming to an end and 2) because I'm running out of ideas. Enjoy
Varian wondered whether he would be taken to the dungeons again or not. He supposed that they wouldn't because they promised, but you never know. The alchemist looked out the window, watching trees pass by at a rapid speed. Rapunzel had asked for a carriage to be brought so he didn't have to deal with mean glares on his way back to the palace.
"Hey, are you okay, Varian?" questioned the Princess. She looked concerned and it surprised him. He hadn't actually thought that anyone would care about him, not after all that he's done.
"Y-yeah I guess. I mean, I didn't think that you guys would ever forgive me. I tried to kill you all, I committed treason, I even captured the Queen. Yet, you still believed that there was some good in me. Even I wouldn't have seen that," replied the boy. The rest of the ride was silent, except for Eugene's snores. He had fallen asleep a while back.
ooooooooooo
Varian looked around nervously. The last time he was inside the castle, he was thrown out into the snow. I wasn't snowing now, but he could be thrown out just as easily. Rapunzel led him to a room, which he assumed would be his for the time being. Now, he was alone, with Ruddiger of course, looking around the room.
There was a bed (obviously), a dresser (Varian soon discovered it had his old stuff in it), and a door leading to a bathroom. He also found a couple apples and other food for Ruddiger. The alchemist was glad that his Raccoon was being treated nicely, and not like some wild animal, even though he technically was.
"Tomorrow's going to be quite an eventful day, huh bud," said Varian. Tomorrow, the princess said he was going to have a miniature trial with the King and Queen to determine whether or not he had to go back to prison.
Sorry about another short chapter, but I was running out of ideas for it. The next chapter will hopefully be slightly longer than the rest, but no promises. This story is kinda hard to write for, mainly because I don't have many ideas for it. It's also kinda hard to write for because I have another one in progress, so I keep accidentally focusing on that one more. Sorry, again
