Troll in Reviews
As has been noted, there is a troll in reviews spamming guest reviews and trying to frame people by writing their name in the name slot. Just ignore it. It's not worth the effort of paying attention to and I'm only writing this message so people are aware.
He's also pretending to be me by writing my name in guest review slots. I would only ever review something from this (logged-in) account.

Chapter 101
"You're going to see Raven."
The question from Summer stopped him dead in his tracks. He'd known someone was following him from the meeting, but he'd assumed they were just going the same way or trying to stop him. She jogged up beside him and took his shoulder, spinning him around to face her. He expected anger or jealousy but found himself faced with an odd mixture of sorrow and grief.
"You are, aren't you? That's the only way you could get to Mistral quick enough to make a difference."
"I am." There wasn't much point denying it. "Does that matter?"
"I don't trust her."
"And you have reason not to," he said politely. More reasons than most considering how badly Raven had wronged her and Yang, but that wasn't the important thing right now. "But you're not me. I'm not asking her to carry my children or marry me – I need a portal to Mistral and that's something she can provide without splitting my impending marriage in two."
"And what will you do once you're there?"
"I'm not going for a booty call if that's what you think…"
Summer struck his arm. "I'm serious, Jaune! Ozpin is dead and you're rushing off like you always do. You didn't even try and be subtle back there, just `I'm off to Mistral` and the look on your face that says people are going to end up dead by tomorrow morning. You can't keep doing this. Talk to me. Explain. Give me some answers so I can at least understand what's going on and that you're not going to run off and die!"
"Don't you trust me?"
"I do!" Summer clenched her eyes shut. "But damn it, Jaune, you make it so hard! Could you, like, turn down the mysterious bastard dial a little? For me?"
"What do-"
"When Emerald was kidnapped by Tyrian, I wasn't the only one to try and save her. You know who else did? Roman bloody Torchwick. Yeah, master thief and crime lord. Convenient, huh? And he was the one to report her kidnapping in the first place and he nearly died to save her. I didn't ask questions then. I knew something was up, but I thought `I trust Jaune, so he'll tell me when he wants to` and I let it be."
"Whatever happened to that?" he sniped.
"Ozpin died. That's what happened. And the whole `let it be` thing kinda worked on the basis that you'd come and tell me the truth if I was patient." Summer crossed her arms and pouted. "And you've not so... yeah. Patient friend angle wasn't working. Now you get stubborn Summer. Congratulations. Now talk, mister, or I'll show you what happens to people who try and keep me in the dark."
There was too much dangerous topics there to even touch. "You realise Ozpin's death is temporary at best..."
"Shhh!" Summer clamped a hand over his mouth and looked around wildly. "Don't say that out loud – and it doesn't matter what happens after. You were shocked he died as well. And you know who did it." Her eyes narrowed. "Or you think you do. That's what you're going for, isn't it? Vengeance?"
Jaune peeled her hand away. "Not just that. Pyrrha has probably been taken…"
"The maiden? Double reasons for me to go along with you."
"What!?"
"What?" she asked innocently. "I didn't come to tell you not to talk to Raven or to get answers. I only said it was getting hard to not ask, not that I would."
Her eyes glinted in a silent threat. Her patience wouldn't last forever and even if she wanted to wait for him to broach the topic, she'd realised he never intended to and thrown that aside for a more pro-active approach. Ruby had been much the same, happy to wait for you to come to her but only to a point. No one could ever accuse Ruby of being the most patient member of her team. The apple clearly hadn't fallen far from the tree.
"But for now I want to go with you, both to make sure you don't do anything stupid and to understand what's going on."
"Summer…" He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. This wasn't what he needed or wanted right now, but if she was anything like Ruby – and she was – he'd never be able to get rid of her. It'd end up as another stupid game of `nope` to whatever he said. "If I promise to tell you everything when I get back, will you stay here?"
"Nope!"
Called it. Damn it, Ruby, your mom is just as stubborn as you.
Well, she was a huntress so the risk would be low, and if things were really bad, he could use the help. Raven would throw a fit but that was to be expected. If he refused her now, she'd just follow him anyway and jump through the portal as soon as it was made. Or worse, she could call Taiyang and Qrow and make this three times as complicated.
"Fine." He growled as her face lit up. "You're coming as my help, though, and you only have yourself to blame for anything that happens." He drew out his scroll and waved her back. "Now move off a bit. Raven won't open a portal if she senses you next to me."
"Don't try and jump through and leave me…"
"I won't. You'd only chase after me and end up half on both sides when she closes it."
He had no idea what'd happen then and didn't want to find out. Watching her step away, he dialled Raven's number, his scroll connecting to the CCT and boosting itself out to Mistral's CCT and then beyond. It was a convenience they'd not had the first time since Cinder hacked into and then destroyed Vale's, bringing down international communication.
"Ugh." Raven sounded hungover. "S'up?"
"I need a portal to you."
A yawn. "Now…?"
"Right now. It's important."
He heard her mumble "better be important…" and then the scroll hung up. Nodding to Summer, he stepped back into the centre of the corridor. Raven's Semblance had never opened itself up in a wall or piece of furniture before; Semblances were often like that. Even if they didn't make sense, they'd intuitively work in ways that didn't end up killing you by accident. Whether or not Raven could see where she was opening a portal to, she never ended up destroying anything or harming herself.
Sure enough a portal opened to his left, conveniently dodging an open door and securing itself in a spot with two feet of space on either side. Summer's footsteps came quickly, no doubt afraid despite her warnings that he'd dive through and leave her behind.
"Please try to avoid causing any trouble…"
Summer shot him a scowl. "You say that like it'll be me to start something."
"Yeah. Funny how that works…"
The portal opened into Raven's tent. The woman in question raised an eyebrow on seeing him but quickly paled as she noticed who else hopped through. Cursing, she reached for her weapon and tried to stand at the same time, almost tripping over her cot.
"Calm." He held a hand out. "She's not here for you."
"The fuck is she doing here at all?"
"Nice to see you as well, Ray."
Jaune swatted Summer's head. "Both of you quit it." Looking back to Raven he said, "We've got bigger things to worry about than a reunion between the two of you. I take it you've heard what's happened in Mistral?"
"No. The hell you on abo-"
"Ozpin is dead."
Jaune said it as a test and Raven passed by reacting with absolute shock. Not grief, not for Ozpin and not with her knowing full well how temporary `death` would be, but surprise at the fact nonetheless. He sighed, feeling a little of the tension drain away. She wouldn't have felt the need to act and her reaction suggested she hadn't stood by and done nothing.
"You didn't know…"
"Of course I didn't know!" she snapped. "You think I get up to date news out in the middle of nowhere?" Tossing her head back, she closed the portal behind them. "Shit. Dead? How? Who? When!? I thought you were with him!"
"I was, but we finished our work and Ozpin sent me home." He sighed. "I thought he was safe."
"Yeah, and so did he." Raven swore again, pacing the inside of the tent. "That's just like him. He's such an arrogant piece of shit, always thinking he knows best and everyone else should do whatever he says. Then in the next breath he'll go on about how he's made `so many mistakes` and you just want to scream at him that maybe he'd make less if he fucking listened every once in a while."
Summer watched with obvious curiosity. To her, Raven was someone who ran away from all this so it must have come as a surprise both to see her active and concerned about affairs between Ozpin and Salem. In her defence Raven had intended to stay out of it and had done so easily the last time. The only reason that changed was because she saw his memories and knew the world was headed for hell if she didn't pick her game up.
"Who killed him? No wait, it was Leonardo, wasn't it?"
Summer flinched. "EH!?"
"Probably." Jaune nodded without hesitation. "I warned Ozpin about him, but he wouldn't listen."
"Big surprise. Oz knows best. Don't you know that, Jaune?"
"Wait, wait, wait!" Summer waved her heads. "Leonardo Lionheart, as in the headmaster of Haven? He can't have killed Ozpin – they're best friends."
"I think that ship sank."
"Jaune, no." She rounded on him. "You can't just fly off half-cocked like this. Why do you think it's Lionheart? What reason do you even have to suspect him? I've spoken with him before, he's a good man!"
He couldn't give her the reasons. Instead, he ignored the question. "Why didn't your Semblance tell you he was in danger?" he asked Raven. "I thought it gave you a warning so you could intervene. It did the last time."
Last time meaning Yang, which Summer wouldn't know but Raven would thanks to his memories. The reminder – even if it was of something that might never happen – drew a scowl. Knowing her, she'd argue that meant Yang had used up her `one time` even if it was in another timeline.
"I didn't get any kind of warning."
"Didn't, or you ignored it?" Summer sniped.
"Ozpin didn't think he was in any danger – or maybe my Semblance knew he wasn't. Everyone here knows he's going to come back anyway. Maybe the person has to believe they're in trouble. I don't know. Since he can't actually die, I never knew he was in trouble."
Emotion based? Or magic. If Semblances were magic left behind by the ancient civilisations and Ozpin was the same, then it made sense they'd play together like that. Maybe Raven's Semblance needed the person in danger to know they were, or like it could open itself not half into a wall, it knew when someone was genuinely near death. Whatever the case, Ozpin had apparently slipped by her attention.
"Then it's-"
"Then what about me?" Summer demanded. "Why didn't you come when I nearly died?"
Raven recoiled as though she'd been slapped. "I… Summer, it's… I…"
"I sure as hell thought I was dying! I was terrified! I kept thinking how I'd never see Ruby and Yang again and how I was going to die in some stupid desert, and no one would ever find me. If it wasn't for Jaune, I'd be dead! And you never came! I didn't use my `one time`. Where was it?" She stabbed a finger at Raven. "Where were you!?"
"I was busy!"
"Oh wow, you were busy. Sorry I nearly died at an inconvenient time."
"No, it's not that, I-"
"Enough!" Jaune strode between them and held his hands out. "Enough. We're not doing this. I'm not doing this." He glared at Raven and then at Summer. His temper, already on a knife's edge with Pyrrha in danger, couldn't hold up to this team drama, no matter how deserved it might be. "I get it. Your situations are messed up. To be honest, this fight is a long time coming and it probably needs to happen. You need to sort your shit out and put things to rest; you're all going to be carrying this baggage forever if you don't."
Summer made to speak.
"But!" He didn't let her. "I'm the wrong blond bastard to be stuck in the middle of this." He let that sink in and watched Summer wince. "And as much as I love Taiyang like a brother, I am not sorting his mess of a relationship out for him. You want to have this fight, do it with your mutual husband between you, not me."
"He's my husband!" Summer yelled.
"He's not my husband!" Raven echoed.
"Great. Perfect. We're all in agreement. And guess what, I'm not your husband either, or your teammate. Get Team STRQ together if you want to sort this out. Have a party – or the world's most awkward orgy; I don't know and I don't care. All I know is that I'm not having sex with either of you, so I don't see why I need to get stuck in the middle of a catfight. I'm not the one who stuck my dick in two types of crazy."
Raven stared at him, gobsmacked.
Summer was stammering and bright red, fighting and failing for words.
Win-win as far as he was concerned. Sure, they'd kick his ass later for saying that, but as long as they let him skulk off before they started to rip each other's hair out, that was fine. He hadn't been lying. This was Taiyang's mess to sort out.
"JAUNE!" Summer wailed, finally finding words, or a word. Her face was burning up and she punched his back angrily. Ineffectively, too. Eyes scrunched shut and teeth bared, she rained blows on his spine like an embarrassed schoolgirl.
More like Ruby than she cared to admit.
"No wonder you're a single parent," Raven said with a scowl. "I pity Winter getting stuck with you with a mouth like that." As if she was one to talk. "Whatever. I didn't want this fight anyway. You want to go after the Fall Maiden, right?"
Summer paused in her assault. "Huh?"
"Ozpin was bringing the Fall Maiden back to Beacon," he explained for her benefit, "So whoever killed him – whether that be Lionheart or not – will have done so to take her."
"I know that! I just, how would Raven be able to find her? There's no way she has a bond with some random teen from Mistral. Unless she's been up to things I really don't want to know about." Summer said it with an icky scowl.
Jaune glanced at Raven.
Raven shook her head violently.
"Oh," he teased. "You mean like opening portals into a fifteen-year-old boy's bedroom every night?"
"You son of a bitch!" Raven hissed.
"WHAT!?" Summer peered out from behind him. "Ray, what!? T-Tell me he's wrong. What are you doing in a – ew, no! I don't want to know. I really don't want to know. Oh God, I wanted to kick your butt but now I have to arrest you!"
"I was training him!" Raven roared.
"He's blond with blue eyes as well, just like Taiyang."
"EWWWWW!"
"TRAINING TO BE A HUNTSMAN! Damn it, Summer. You were always like this!" Raven scowled his way as well, promising vengeance for his mockery. He shrugged back. It had gotten Summer off her back about how she might have a bond with Pyrrha, hadn't it?
A little embarrassment was worth that.
"To be fair, it was for training," he told Summer. "Now let's have Raven open a portal to our maiden so we can finish Ozpin's job for him, okay? And we can find out if Lionheart is behind this at the same time."
"Y-Yeah. Let's get proof first, okay?"
Raven rolled her eyes but was apparently done with talking. Drawing her sword, she focused on the air before her, eyes closed. "They're moving. Moving fast."
"A vehicle?"
"It's a train."
"Is that a problem?" It shouldn't have been. It wasn't the first time she'd opened a portal onto a train, so presumably the portal also kept moving at the same speed and in the same direction as the vehicle. Another convenient piece of Semblance logic that ensured they weren't useless.
"I can open it just fine, but it'll need to be closer. I usually make portals a small distance away, so I have time to react. Can't do that here. I might open one outside the cabin and then we'll all be slamming into the ground at speed."
Jaune caught the message and drew Crocea Mors, Summer drawing her own sword-gun combo behind him. A closer portal meant immediate combat – assuming that was that Pyrrha was indeed being kidnapped and not just escorted somewhere. If it was the latter, they'd have some explaining to do, but better embarrassment than a sword to the throat.
"I'll stay here and act as an escape," Raven said. "If you're in danger, I'll grant you an out."
"Alright."
Summer and he would be enough, and even if Raven was a good fighter, she was so much more useful as an unstoppable rescue. In combat, she could be killed. Out of it and safe far away with her Semblance, she could pull his and Summer's ass out the fire as many times as she needed to. Some Semblances were like that, better in support no matter how strong the huntsman was.
"Didn't expect you to do any fighting anyway," Summer said.
"Done more than you in the last few months, housewife."
"Sorry, I didn't hear that. My hearing must be impacted from all the times I've had Taiyang moaning my name. Are you still single, Ray? Such a shame."
"Ladies. Do this with Taiyang between you, not me."
They nodded. He had a feeling they'd just had to get one last mutual snipe out the way before they could call it done. He loved Taiyang, but damn, he needed to sort this shit out. He'd felt bad for causing friction in Team JNPR for all of a week with the Cardin issue. How long did Tai intend to let this fester for?
No matter. Pyrrha first, then Ozpin.
"Open the portal."
/-/
Summer's boots hit the metal floor barely a second behind Jaune's, with the portal slamming shut a moment later. It'd been years since she travelled by portal and the sudden lurch in balance was an old sensation she wasn't used to. Kneeling, she oriented herself in a suddenly shaking and rocking train carriage trundling along rough tracks. Metal floor, walls and a ceiling surrounded them, along with numerous stacked crates and boxes.
No enemies, though.
Jaune looked just as surprised as her at that, slowly lowering his sword as the lack of any danger became apparent. Maybe we were wrong and she's just travelling normally. Even if Ozpin is dead, she might already have taken a train. Or she could have been tricked into it. Either was possible right now. Standing, Summer sheathed her own weapon under her white cloak, pushing the hood back and shaking her hair loose.
"Not exactly what I expected."
"Me neither." Jaune looked around cautiously but when it was absolutely clear they were in the carriage alone, he finally sheathed his weapon. "Is it possible Raven put us a carriage or two down? If the train was moving after her portal opened, we might be a hundred metres back from where she is."
"Her portals don't work that way. I should know, she opened one on a speedboat once and it followed us." The old memory brought a smile. It'd been a Team STRQ holiday right after graduation and a prank played on Raven by Qrow. He'd thought he could escape by going speedboating with Taiyang, but Raven opened a portal all the way from the beech and kicked him off the boat. She could still remember laughing her head off as Taiyang had to pull it around to pick their poor teammate up.
Better days. Happier days.
"Well I'm not seeing her here." Jaune moved over the one of the doors leading to the next carriage. Judging by the scenery rushing past through the windows toward the ceiling, he'd moved toward the front of the train. "Looks like a freight train. No passengers."
"You think it's a trap?"
"Could be," he admitted, "But they should have sprung it by now, right?"
An ambush was only as good as it was unexpected. A bomb? If it was a train car and they didn't care about the girl's life, they could just blow the whole thing up with them in it. Except, they should have done that already as well, and you'd at least have someone in the car to see when they arrived. Summer moved over the to the stacked containers and pulled the cover off. Wooden crates lay beneath, each stamped with a familiar logo.
"SDC Shipments. It's a dust convoy. You know anything about that?"
"Only that the SDC has mines all over the place. Probably crystals en route to Atlas to be refined into dust. If this is an SDC train, at least I'll be able to write off our intrusion." He worked the handle and drew the door back, letting in the noise of the racing train tracks. "Come on. Maybe we can find some people and figure this out. Pyrrha isn't here."
"Hm. Oka-"
A muffled thump came from the crate.
"Hah…?" Holding her breath, Summer struck her fist against it and waited.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
"Jaune, I think I found something!"
Rather than wait for him to come back she stood and drew her sword, prying the tip under the slat and teasing it up to work the nails out. The first took the most work but then she got her hand under and peeled it up. Jaune was there a moment later, helping prize it open with a horrible cracking sound. Green eyes rimmed with red stared up at them, tearstained and afraid. Summer recognised the poor girl immediately.
"Pyrrha…"
Jaune reached in to gently pull the gag off her. The crate was filled with spongy foam to keep her safe with several airholes toward the sides and back which hadn't been immediately visible to them. Her hands were pinned behind her with her legs beneath. She must have worked the cushioning aside and slammed her face into the wood to make the noise.
"I've got you," he said, as soft and comforting as he could be. "You're alright. We're going to get you out of here. Do you remember me?" The young girl nodded furiously. "Good. You know I'm here to help, right? Please don't scream or draw any attention to us."
More nodding, this time with clear relief visible.
He worked the gag free and she spat it out, gasping for air but staying quiet. It would have taken too long to pull the crate apart so they tipped it between them, letting Pyrrha half-roll and half-crawl out of it. Once she was on the floor of the carriage, Summer found the room to get behind and saw through the thick tape keeping her hands trapped behind her.
As soon as she was free, she began rubbing her wrists which looked swollen and sore. Pyrrha pushed her feet out so Summer could cut the bindings on those as well, while Jaune offered her a drink from his canteen which she drank from greedily.
"Are there any bad people on board?" Jaune asked.
"Y-Yes." Pyrrha kept her voice low. "They wore White Fang masks, but they answered to humans. I didn't see any faunus among them."
The same ones that hit the Winchester family. Summer listened intently, making notes for Oz- for Glynda now, she supposed. Jaune had already said he didn't think the White Fang could come back after they ended them and Qrow had agreed that Adam Taurus wasn't the sort. This might not be total confirmation, but it was still valuable information.
"How did they get you? You were meant to come to Beacon. What happened?"
"I-I was waiting for Headmaster Ozpin to come get me. My parents and my sister were there too. The headmaster didn't come at the agreed time though, and Mr Lionheart did. He told us there'd been an accident with the transport, and we needed to take a different route."
Summer hissed under her breath. It wasn't proof but ever since Jaune and Raven mentioned it she hadn't been able to get the suspicion out her head. Had Leonardo really betrayed them? It didn't seem possible. He was such a good person.
"You wouldn't have been stuffed in a crate if you went along with that. What went wrong?"
"Helena thought something was wrong. Dad and I went along with it, but she kept asking why we'd be taking a train somewhere. I-I didn't even think about it." The poor girl sounded ashamed of the fact. It wasn't her fault, though. Students were supposed to do what their teachers said, they were supposed to be able to trust them.
"Is Helena-?"
"I don't know! The last thing I remember was coming under attack. Something cut through my aura – cut right through it even though I had it up. I-I went down. I remember Helena shouting out for me and then… I woke up in there."
It didn't paint a good picture. Someone as experienced as her could piece it out and Jaune obviously could as well. If they wanted to steal Pyrrha away and ambushed her family, it wouldn't be in their best interests to leave much in the way of witnesses. Pyrrha seemed to know that on some level as well, though she clearly still held some small hope.
"Please, you're Helena's friend. You need to make sure she's okay!"
"I will." Jaune held her shoulder. "I'll find her. You don't know who is on this train, then?"
Pyrrha shook her head.
"Right. We're going to go ahead – but you're not coming with us." When she made to argue, he cut her off. "I know you want to but we're professionals and we can do this better if we don't have to worry about you. I'll call Raven," he said to her. "Explain how this'll work for Pyrrha's sake."
Summer nodded and took his spot, kneeling by the frightened girl and wrapping an arm around her shoulder. There was nothing wrong with fear, especially when it was fear for the life of a family member. As quickly as she could, she explained Raven's Semblance to Pyrrha, how she'd be taken somewhere safe and they would come get her later.
"She's my old teammate. Now, be careful because she's a prickly person and a bit of a bitch." She laughed, hoping to cheer Pyrrha up. "But you can trust her to keep you safe. Just don't inherit any bad habits from her, okay? Once we've sorted up here and looked for your sister, we'll portal back to Raven to pick you up and then take another to Beacon. Okay?"
"Y-Yes. I understand. I'm sorry I can't be more useful."
"It's fine. Leave this to us. I'm Summer, by the way. Summer Rose. I'll be one of your teachers at Beacon, so consider this an early introduction. Don't worry, I'm not like Lionheart."
"I can tell that much." Pyrrha smiled weakly. "Kidnapped by one teacher and rescued by another. It's been an unusual week."
There was strength in her. Strength enough to laugh at adversity and keep a stiff upper lip. She'd be okay. Not happy and a little shaken, but she'd recover and that's all that mattered. Giving her a slap on the shoulder and helping her up, she led Pyrrha toward the red portal that had just opened up in the air.
"It'll lead to the inside of a tent in Mistral," Jaune explained. "Don't panic. If you need anything, Raven will help you. She can be-"
"I've already explained it to her. Sheesh, have some faith."
He seemed to realise she was putting the teasing on for Pyrrha's sake and played his part, making a big show of rolling his eyes and complaining that he just wanted to make sure she was okay. It worked to distract Pyrrha from the situation and earn a tired giggle.
It wasn't unusual for huntsmen to act that way, especially when you found people in the worst situations. It wasn't all that well-known but since negativity summoned more Grimm, most huntsmen were taught in their later years of school how to handle potentially traumatised and terrified civilians, even children.
Watching Raven try to cheer up a ten year old volunteer from a local school had been hilarious at the time, but it was sad to think just how many times she'd personally had to bounce a freshly orphaned child on her lap and tell them happy stories to distract from the fact they'd never see their parents again. At times, it was all you could do to save them and hope they'd find new happiness. At least with Pyrrha, the future wasn't so set in stone.
Their overly happy smiles fell the second the portal closed, replaced with grim determination.
"Lionheart," she said.
"We'll deal with him after."
"I can't believe he'd do this. Why…?"
"You can ask him if you want. For now, let's find the ones behind this." He drew his sword again. "Fair warning, Tyrian Callows might be here."
"The one who kidnapped Emerald? How do you know?"
"Pyrrha mentioned someone cutting through her aura. That's his Semblance." His words earned a grimace. "It takes time and he has to get close, but if he touches you with his bare hand, keep that spot in mind. Chances are your aura won't protect you there."
"It's localised?"
"From what little I know, yeah. You'll be fine as long as you guard that area."
Semblances were powerful tools, but the best tools were ones you kept to only your allies. She wondered not for the first time how Jaune knew – had he once been an ally? Did he know so much about their enemies because he once worked for them? It might explain why they hunted him so relentlessly, but if so, she wasn't sure what it might change.
Ozpin had placed his faith in him, as had Taiyang, Qrow and even Raven. He'd saved her life too, so even if his past did have its secrets, he was on their side now. His actions today proved it. Drawing her own weapon, Summer stepped up beside him, facing the door leading toward the front of the train.
"Not too late to back out," he whispered. "You could take a portal back and escort Pyrrha to Beacon. You don't have to do this."
"I'm sorry, did you just insinuate I might walk away? Where do you get off saying that!?"
"Hah." Jaune chuckled. It was an oddly honest sound. "You're right. Forgot who I was talking to for a moment. Let's do this, Ruby."
Summer's eyes narrowed but she didn't call out the mistake.
"Yeah. Let's do this."
Do we actually have any indication on what sort of weapon Summer uses in canon yet? I know some people suggested it would be a scythe but I'm fairly sure that was taught specifically by Qrow, and even though it's definitely possible Summer may have used one and died before being able to impart any of the knowledge on, I think Ozpin in their first meeting kind of made a point of only knowing one other person to use a scythe.
I'll almost certainly be wrong on saying a gun blade because let's be honest, this is RWBY. It'll be something downright ridiculous like a naginata with a rail canon attachment that somehow shrinks down to the size of a baton she can keep under her cloak.
I'd honestly love the irony of it being something stupidly simple, though.
"Yeah, it's a club. What does it do? It clubs people over the head, duh. Bonk!"
