Final Summons part 4

With the help of Cody's blue energy, Hal, Guy, John, and Mary's green rings were at one thousand percent. Suite on fire with green light and their eyes glowing white, they were unstoppable.

Guy punched his way through several Black Lanterns with Cody doing his best to match the Green Lantern's strength by throwing his punches. Thankfully he knew better than just to rely on brute strength. His talent was all in his head. Cody created a blue paintbrush construct and began to draw lines and shapes in the air. The blue energy from the construct forms trapping them inside objects or being roped up in vice-like grips. It made it easy for Guy to finish them off with a blast of energy from their rings.

John kept close by, partnering up with Vivian who he found to have a unique way with constructs. The Star Sapphire created a very large cosmetic brush that he used to rub in the faces of Black Lanterns. While they were blinded by the pink dust like energy she left behind, John would take construct green sword and slice them all in half. The combined energies easily turning the Black Lanterns to dust. Though at times, Vivian would kick or punch an enemy for good measure.

Fighting back to back, Hal and Mary took out a few Black Lanterns themselves. Even if they just had green energy, sticking close by to where Cody was fighting gave them the boost they needed. Hal using his signature bat construct to knock some out of the park. Mary had the paintball gun out firing endlessly into the faces of several Black Lanterns.

Hal then heard from his ring, "Jordan, is the fight over?" It was Killowag.

Hal replied as he ducked the attempted punch to the face, "No! HUGH—What do you mean?"

"The Black Lanterns, they just… stopped…"

"What?" That's one the one trying to punch him froze mid-throw. It just stopped, coming to a halt like a machine getting jammed before turning off completely.

The Green Lanterns and their friends looked around surprised. And so did everybody else. The trio of red, green, and yellow lanterns looked at each other confused as the girls stayed alert expecting surprise attack. The Ships from B-0's armada slowed their flight pattern noticing nothing was trying to blast them out of the sky. On Mogo, the criminals exchanged looks before thinking all was over and sitting down on the ground to take a breather. On Oa's surface, the blimp came to a stop over the non-lanterns waiting bellow for their next orders.

All around them Black Lanterns just stopped fighting. No sound came from them, not even a breath. Something wasn't right about this. John said, "This was just the start."

Hal nodded. This was part of the plan after all. They knew that the Black Lantern army would just be the first wave. With all the lanterns from different corps gathered, it was only a matter of time until the real threat showed up.

Cody made a telescope construct, looking through the spyglass to try and catch sight of anything strange. For a minute nothing seemed out of the ordinary until he did see something. A speck, dressed black to almost camouflage with the vast emptiness of space, was getting bigger. As it got closer, Cody could see it was a person. He didn't know who it was right away, but he had an idea.

"He's coming," the boy said with a bit of shakiness to his voice.

Hal put a hand on his shoulder to reassure him before he said through his ring, "It's the Entitys's turn."

The group was alone for a moment before he was soon joined by the leaders of the different Corps joined them. Hal then flew to be in front of them so that they were in a row with Kyle next to him. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. They held the line upfront as some followers from their respective corps all came to form a large group behind them. Like a person facing a mountain lion, they tried to make themselves look bigger by standing tall. Colors mismatched but all standing together.

Mary looked back at the giant group she formed with them, hoping this and the leaders would be enough to twist fate.

They all waited, not making a move to fight as Nekron came close. But he stopped just a few meters away. He looked around and said, "What, no one wants to try and take a chance on attacking me?"

"We're not falling for that," Guy called out from the crowd. "You want us to rush you."

Nekron gave a sad sigh as he manifested his scythe into his hand and leaned on it as if she were tired. "Ok, so maybe I did want to have a little fun with you before I finished things here but might as well get to the point." Nekron straightened up and snapped his fingers.

From the surface of Oa, the Gor who waited by to see what the motionless Black Lanterns would do suddenly watched in horror as the enemy began to leave. Almost looking like they were getting pulled into the air by an invisible string and their limbs hanging like lifeless puppets. As they ascended, the ones hovering dead in the empty void of space were also being pulled by an invisible force towards Nekron.

Everyone watched in horror at the sight of all the Black Lanterns who came and formed their large group behind Nekron. Some noticing familiar faces of dead loved ones upfront. Many seethed, some cringed, some could only look away. A feeling a dread swept over everyone. Hal felt it too. Though he was lucky to not recognize anyone he still felt it. The idea of possibly being one of them… if today was his day…

His eyes shifted to Mary for a small millisecond before he said allowed, "Don't let him get to you guys. He's only trying to scare us—"

"Oh stop, you know that's not going to work. I mean, why would I do that if you have a whole Corp who feeds off your fear?" Sinestro narrowed his eyes at the mention of his corp. Nekron went on, "Why give them more power to try and stop me. Why make you angry if you have a bunch of Red Lanterns on your side. I'll admit, you're clever Hal Jordan, you've caught me at every turn thus fur but do you even know what I want?"

"Yes, to destroy the Entities. You tried to kill Ion as soon as you got free from Hell."

Nekron stared at Hal as if he had been duped which seemed to relax the colored lanterns until Nekron started to give a maniacal laugh. Everyone wondered if he had gone crazy until he calmed down enough to say, "Hah! Good one. 'Kill' an entity, I-I mean—" his voice almost tripped into the fifth dimension. So Nekron coughed into the crook of his arm before straightening up again. "Oh if only that were possible."

Razer looked nervously to Killowag who hovered behind Hal. It did make sense. An Entity is just energy with a consciousness of its own that fueled off the emotions of beings around the universe.

The Black Lantern leader continued. "BUT! There are ways to… neutralize an Entity, so to speak. So yes, you got me there Hal Jordan. I mean, that's why you brought all the Entities together, because if two different color lanterns can truly defeat a Black Lantern, then all colored Entities can defeat me, right?"

"Hal…" Carol began from the far left end of the row of lantern leaders. Why was Nekron saying all this now? Why not try and stop them before they make their move?

He heard her but held up a hand for her to not engage as he said to Nekron, "What are you getting at."

"No angle, I mean you said you just wanted to talk right?"

Sinestro on Hal's right, hissed in realization, "He's trying to stall us."

Hal tried to think of what Nekron could be stalling for. All the Black Lanterns were called to him. Who else would be up to no good? Scar, he suddenly remembered. Hal yelled into his ring, "Salaack, be aware. Scar might be coming and remember, she's got her ancient powers back."

Nekron became confused but to no one's notice.

Hal then said, "All right, guys, do your thing. Let's put in end to this before he decides to play any more tricks."

Atrocitus didn't mean to be told twice. He was already holding out his ring hand ready. From Atrocitus's ring came Butcher, a red bull-like creature with muscles visible and stubby hands for hoofs. From Larfleeze's ring came Ophidian, a giant orange snake with sharp fangs. From Sinestro's ring came Parallax who no longer resembled a corrupted guardian but a wasp-like creature with gaping jaws.

From Carol's ring came Predator, a giant pink bug-like creature with a dragon-like head. From Indigo's staff came Proselyte, a giant squid with four large tentacles and no eyes. From Saint Walker's ring came Adara, a bird-like creature with no legs and a wide chest.

Kyle looked back at John and Guy nervously, seeing their determined faces. Then he looked forward and said, "Ok Ion, your turn. " He raised his ring hand high so that a giant creature, like a koi fish, swam out and flew in the middle of the row of lantern entities. They were like giants, even the Anti-Monitor couldn't have stood as tall as them. Every single one of them looked down on to Nekron who now held his scythe behind his back like a little child hiding something.

He gave a wave towards the Entities, saying, "Long time no see old friends. Ophidian, I see you looking slimmer.

"Ophidian is mine! MINE!" He thrust his ring hand forward with palm facing towards Nekron. Every lantern leader, plus Kyle, followed suit, commanding their Entities to attack at the same time. Like a rainbow, they went high up in an arc before coming down towards Nekron.

The man never flinched. Hey just let them plow right into him, pushing him into the crowd of Black Lanterns behind him. On contact with the mixed energies, some hundred or so Black Lanterns immediately exploded into dust, others moving back to avoid getting hit themselves. A wave of color emitted from the contact, passing through the colored lanterns like mist.

When they looked up they saw the Entities to look almost like they were merging. White light forming around them. They couldn't see what they were doing to Nekron but they could only imagine he was being torn to shreds. If only.

Then there was a loud sound, like that of an explosion, but the sound muffled by and unseen barriers. Then giant entities suddenly began to screech and yell as if they were in pain. Their hosts doubled over in pain, holding their heads or stomach with their faces twisting. "What's happening?" Indigo-1 hissed through the pain.

Some of their fellow lanterns pushed passed others to get to their respective leaders. What was wrong with them. Hal held Kyle by putting one arm around the young man's shoulder and another on his chest to keep him up. Mary on instinct had come to Carol's side to try and heal her from whatever it was. But as the young green lantern looked around to the leaders and then the Entities, she knew it was because of their connection.

All of a sudden the giant Entities reared up and gave one final screech before they disappeared. Their forms being sucked into Nekron's ring. "He's still alive," Mary gasped. That's when Kyle, Saint Walker, Sinestro, Indigo, Larfleeze, Carol, and Atrocitus looked up in surprise, recovering from the sudden jolts of pain but looking exhausted. They all looked to Nekron who's head was down and eyes were closed. He still kept a tight grip on his scythe but it was now in his left hand so that his ring hand was up showing the last of the Entities being sucked in. A large dust cloud formed around him, almost like steam rising from one's skin after a hot shower. Then he opened his eyes. They looked like block orbs with a white ring around them to make it look like they were glowing.

Another pair of eyes opened.

Eyes glowing a pure white.

Back in space, Nekron smiled as his voice echoed for all to hear. "Well played, but I know how to win games." And then he thrust his hand forward.

A.N: We're so CLOSE to HER. But looks like were are FAR from a victory. Thought it would end soon? Let's see how next chapter plays out and you'll know. Also, did anyone notice throughout this story how I've been referring to the Entities? I've always wanted to try this out, having powerful forces not classified by gender. Pronouns they/them for Entities because why not, am I right? Hope to see you all in two weeks, unless I get behind on time again. I'm KikaKatTIOI, peace out!
