AN: The world has gone crazy!

I hope all of you are staying safe and healthy and that my stories are helping to make your days a little bit brighter. On the 23rd the governor of Michigan issued Stay-At-Home for the next three weeks!

Just a reminder that I am suppose to be starting my new job on the 28th. It shouldn't affect my posting schedule, but I will let you know if something changes.

Thanks to BanzEye, Jake, Gabe2000, and EM for the reviews:)

-I've always thought that Palpatine had some part to play in Ahsoka's trial. Her leaving to me is the first real event that actually breaks Anakin's trust in the Order.

-Barriss doesn't know.

-And yep, Satine lives! I love Satine and I always felt bad that I couldn't work it out to allow Shmi to live. So I worked really hard to make sure that Satine made it. Hopefully you were able to catch a few hints in the last couple chapters that may help explain why I fought to keep her kicking;)

And now it's time for the arc I think that pretty much everyone has been waiting for, the Wrong Jedi!

With carefully written and placed reports, an anti-war and anti-Jedi movement has started to spring up in the Republic. They spread their message even as the Clones and Jedi continue to fight to save the Republic. There is no telling just how far or deep their reach goes...

~Sometimes even the smallest doubt can shake the greatest belief~ Sabotage, Clone Wars Season Five

Chapter Seventy-Two: No Safe Place

They were so small. If it wasn't for the container resting in front of her altar, she wouldn't have even know that they were there. Nano-droids were just so small, but they had so much uses.

Explosive uses.

Barriss clenched her hands into fists where they rested on her knees as she knelt. She didn't want to go through with her plan, she didn't want to hurt her friend. But the Chancellor had been worried about the Jedi, about Ahsoka. He was right that the war was taking a heavy toll and pulling the Jedi from the path they were meant to walk. Jedi weren't suppose to be fighting in wars, forming attachments with the beings that had no place in the Order. The Jedi were meant to be above such petty, everyday things.

The fact that the Chancellor had mentioned Ahsoka, mentioned that she seemed far too close to a Clone, seemed more than friends had chilled Barriss. She had done her best every chance she had gotten to bring Ahsoka back into the old and proper ways of the Jedi. But her friend had drifted further and further away. Now Barriss felt that there was no hope. That Ahsoka was truly lost to her.

Barriss would mourn Ahsoka when the time came just as she would mourn for those that were about to be lost. But it had to be done.

She had no choice.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Alright Snips! I'm gonna need you to punch a hole through those gunships so we can get through!"

Ahsoka rolled her eyes. So she hadn't been flying in combat recently, but that didn't mean that she had forgotten everything Anakin and the vod'e had taught her. "I already know the drill Skyguy." Across their Bond was a sharp tug. But she brushed it aside and focused on the battle.

If she was being honset with herself, Ahsoka would admit to being more glad to be flying an Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor if it weren't for the fact that they there to save Cato Neimoidia. So there probably were some good Neimoidians who didn't make a living off of double-dealing during the war, but those Neimoidians wouldn't be living on Cato Neimoidia which was where only the wealthiest of the elite could live. Which meant Neimoidans like Lott Dud and Nute Gunray. Not the nice ones.

Still it was nice to be flying again. Weaving wild and dangerous paths around the hulking Separatists frigates and blazing past the vultures and droid ships. Saving Cato Neimoidia was more interesting than being back at the Temple and helping Analise deal with the ever increasing number of meetings.

Ahsoka was glad that she was never going to be an actual diplomat.

A series of explosions shook Ahsoka from her thoughts. She glanced at her panel and her heart sank to see that several of the Clone pilots had been destroyed by tri-fighters. One of her panels began to beep and Ahsoka gritted her teeth. "We've got one missile incoming!" she called as she jerked her ship to the side.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Anakin smirked and just barely drifted to the side as the missile blew past him. "That's no problem..." The smirk fell from his face as the missile suddenly blew apart and dozens of Pistoeka sabotage droid were flying towards him. "Okay, so it's a little problem..." He could just hear the droids chattering to each other as they began to cut into the fighter. "So I got hit with some buzz droids. How bad were you nailed Ahsoka?"

"Buzz droids? I'm all clear here."

"What? Really?" Anakin chuckled to himself. "You must be the favorite Snips. You always have it easy." Outside there was a metallic thump as Artoo slammed on of the wing flaps down onto a couple of droids. "Good work buddy," Anakin cheered on the droid as he raised one hand up towards the cockpit door. Grunting a little he used the Force to shove the buzz droids away as the glass began to break. "You know what? Someday, someway these droids are going to learn that they are messing with the wrong Jedi." Anakin looked around the outside of his fighter, but he couldn't see any droids.

"Looks like you got them all Master. Not a single one."

"And that's how you do that Padawan. Just keep watching and learning and..." Anakin broke off his sentence and glanced down at the floor between his feet. There was grinding noise, the sound of metal being peeled up, and a small drill poking through. The minute it broke through, his controls went haywire. "Stang it all!"

"I can see you trailing smoke Master? What's wrong? What happened?"

Anakin's fingers danced frantically over the controls. Sparks jumped out and nipped as his fingers. Alarms blared and smoke filled the cockpit. But he wasn't going to tell his baby sister that. "Everything's fine Ahsoka, just need to make some..."

BANG!

Something exploded and his head slammed backwards into his seat.

And everything went black.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

From her cockpit Ahsoka watched as Anakin's fighter billowed more smoke, rocking and drifting. "Master? Anakin? Anakin!" Her voice grew louder and louder until she was shouting. But he still wasn't answering. She latched onto the Force, shoving her panic down. Now was the time to stay calm and collected.

Even as she wanted to scream because Anakin wasn't answering her and this wasn't going to be how she lost her big brother. "Talk to me Artoo. What's going on over there?"

("Master is unconsicous. There was an explosion and it knocked him out.")

"Well if he's unconscious you need to fly him back to the cruiser and get Kix to see him right away!"

("I'm trying little Mistress, but there's something wrong with the engines. I am unable to make the ship turn back.")

"What?" Ahsoka's voice became high. "What's wrong with the engines? Why aren't they working?" It would explain why Anakin's ship wasn't slowing down, why it kept going and seeming to speed up. "Tip the wing Artoo. I'll check and see the damage..."

But Ahsoka couldn't see any damage when Artoo tipped the ship to the side to expose the bottom. She couldn't see any damage because the bottom was covered in buzz droids! "Stang! That's not good..." It looked like once again her brother was losing another ship. That would make the GAR unhappy, but she doubted that the ship-makers would complain.

("What's wrong little Mistress?")

"Well now would be a really good time for you to land the fighter." The pair swung around one of the towering stone pillars upon which the Neimoidians had built. Her eyes scanned the area quickly, finally finding a pillar lacking any sort of structures. "There's a cliff ledge up ahead. Can you land there?"

("But the landing zone is far too short and...")

"And I don't care," Ahsoka's fingers were busy, entering commands. "Just get that ship on the ground now!" She punched in one last command. "Alright R7, I need you take control of the shop. I have to go get Anakin." 'Someone has to save his skin even if they are grounded into the next decade for being reckless.' If they found out, but Ahsoka was fairly confident that they wouldn't find out.

She waited for confirmation that R7 had indeed taken control before she popped open the canopy of her fighter. The wind ripped at her clothes and skin. Ahsoka gripped the the edges of her fighter as she carefully climbed out of the cockpit and edged her way out onto the wing nearest Anakin's fighter. The teenager braced herself, wrapping the Force around her.

They were racing to the cliff and Ahsoka watched as Anakin's fighter slammed into the ground. It skidded and bounced, spewing up rocks and clumps of dirt. She could hear the cries of the buzz droids as they were smashed beneath the fighter.

Ahsoka narrowed her eyes and bent her knees. She needed to time this just right...

She launched herself through the air, landing on the wing of Anakin's fighter...and crying out as she slipped and fell. Ahsoka reached out, grabbing onto the fighter as tight as she could. Grunting, she pulled herself up until she could peer into the cockpit. Anakin's body was rocking back and forth limply as the fighter raced to the edge.

Artoo whistled shrilly in alarm as Ahsoka drew her blade and ignited it. In one smooth move she had slashed through the canopy, forcing it opening, and turning it off. Then she reached in and grabbed Anakin, pulling him out and jumping back off the fighter. She hit the ground and grunted as the sharp stones bit into her back. Ahsoka let go of Anakin's body and sat up in time to watch as the fighter with Artoo plunged over the side of the cliff!

"Artoo!" she cried for the little droid as she pushed herself to her feet. There was a distant explosion and once more Ahsoka felt her heart sink...

"Did you miss me little Mistress?" Artoo chirped happily as he appeared, his boosters firing to fly him through the air. Ahsoka's shoulders dropped in relief and she rolled her eyes at the astromech.

"Oh that was so funny Artoo."

Well it was a little funny.

"Ouch..." Anakin blinked his eyes, wincing as the light hit them. He coughed to clear the dust from his throat and mouth as Artoo landed next to him.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine Snips," Anakin waved a hand before wincing and using the hand to rub his head gingerly. "But what did I miss?" His Padawan shrugged her shoulders with a slight smile.

"You didn't miss a lot..."

"Wait...I was just flying wasn't I? My fighter! Where's my fighter Artoo? What happened? How did I end up here?"

"Just the normal stuff," Ahsoka shrugged again. If Anakin was freaking out about his fighter than he would be fine. "You know, your fighter crashed. I had to save the day. You're welcome by the way."

"All right then," Anakin shoved himself up and used the Force to soothe away his headache and the pain of shaken limbs. He tapped his wrist com as he raised it to his face. "Hey there Captain Rex. Ahsoka and I could sure use a lift down here." He glanced at his baby sister who was gently rubbing her hands over Artoo's domed head.

"We'll be right there General."

Ahsoka bounced to his side, smiling brightly at the thought of seeing Rex already which made him roll his eyes. He didn't think he acted so sappy with Padme, but then again Ahsoka and Rex weren't exactly hiding their relationship.

Which did worry him a little.

His comlink beeped and he glanced at Ahsoka. Her eyes were wide for they both recognized that particular series of beeps. It was the signal that the incoming call was from the Temple.

Anakin answered it, pressing the button to open up the holo-link. "Master Yoda. What's wrong?"

"To the Temple return quickly you and your Padawan should," the small Grandmaster's voice was quiet and heavy. His eyes were both angry and sad.

"We would love to Grandda, but we are in the middle of something here." As if to prove his point vulture droids roared over their heads as they were chased by GAR fighters, lasers blasting. In the distance they could see a Separatist frigate on fire as a Republic ship pursued it to bring down.

"Would not ask if important it was not Anakin." Yoda's image disappeared and was replaced with one of the Temple. The Temple from which they could see smoke pouring from one of the hangers. "Bombed the Temple hangar has been. Know not yet we do who it was. Your help to find this terrorist we need."

Ahsoka shook her head as she stared at the rotating image of the Temple. She had heard of those who were unhappy with the war, with the Jedi. Their voices were growing louder. But there was no way someone could have actually set off a bomb in the Temple. The security was so tight. "Who could have successfully planted and then denated a bomb in the Jedi Temple?"

Anakin shook his head. "Don't worry Master. Ahsoka and I will be there as soon as we can." He turned off the com as the Lucky Lekku landed nearby. Looks like we're heading back to Coruscant early Snips.

Yeah...but to what?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thankfully none of their family had been hurt. Analise had been with Padme, Satine, Bail, and Mon Mothma at Padme's going over documents and proposals and speeches. Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Plo had been in the Council Chamber going over their own never-ending list of chores.

Their family was safe.

But others had died.

"Do we really think this is the work of Separatists?" Anakin asked as he, Analise, and Ahsoka stood in the center of the chamber. "How could they have made it pass all the security measures?"

"Worse than a Separatist we fear it is." Yoda looked older than he had on the holo. The attack on the current home of the Jedi had been a blow. It had been a message. That even in their hollowed walls the Jedi and those that worked for them were not safe.

"I don't understand," Ahsoka spoke up as only a fearless teenager could. "What could be worse than a Separatist?" Silence rang in the chamber after her question. It was the heavy sort of silence that only grew heavier and heavier until it began to hurt.

Mace sighed. "We need all our cards on the table this time." He leaned forward slightly. "We have to keep our minds open and explore the possibility that the bomber could have been anyone with access to the Temple at the time. Even a Jedi."

The Togruta teen took a step back in disbelief. The bomber could be a Jedi? But that didn't make any sense at all. This was currently their home. The home of all the Jedi. Who would bomb their own home?

"If indeed a Jedi it is, fallen to the Dark Side they have." Yoda rubbed his hands over his knees. And if it was a Jedi, if they had fallen, then they had not been able to sense it. They had failed.

"I can't..." Ahsoka took a deep breath to calm the swirling emotions at the thought that a Jedi might have done this. "It seems so hard to believe that a Jedi would attack the Temple. It's our home. It's sacred."

Qui-Gon smiled sadly. Even in war they had done their best to shield Ahsoka from the worst the galaxy had to offer. Maybe it was a mistake. A mistake to let her fight, but she was a Jedi and a Skywalker. She would not be content to sit back and watch. "That is why we called you two here. You were not in the Temple during the time of the bombing and we can't trust anyone who was here to investigate this. Even a Jedi."

"Then why am I here?" Analise spoke for the first time. "I wasn't at the Temple, but I was on planet..."

"We will need your skills to read auras when we begin to question beings who might be suspects." Mace sighed as he tapped his fingers together in thought. "You might have been on planet, but your days have not been spent at the Temple Analise. Together you three will able to look at this with views that are free of assumptions, impartial."

Anakin looked at his sisters. Both nodded their heads slightly. Taking a deep breath the Knight turned to face the Council.

"We will do everything we can to find the bomber Masters."

"Yes, but careful you must be Skywalkers. If so willing to destroy the Temple the attacker was, then to great lengths will they go to not get caught."

"Then all that means Master Yoda is that we will need to go to greater lengths to catch them."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

She stopped in the doorway of the hanger, hands coming up to cover the sides of her montrals. She could hear them. Hear the screams of the beings who had been inside when the bomb had exploded. She could still feel their fear and pain.

I can still hear them too Star, Anakin turned back and grasped Ahsoka's hand. She could feel him the Force, a soothing balm that fell down around her, blocking out the worst of it as he gently pulled her into the hanger. He squeezed her hand, giving Ahsoka extra strength before letting go.

She was glad that Analise had opted to help in the medbay with the wounded. If the remaining feelings in the Force had thrown her for a loop, they would have knocked out Analise.

Do you really believe that a Jedi could have done all this? Her baby-blue eyes scanned the room. Crime scene analysis droids stood at certain spots, blue beams streaming from their optical receptors as they scanned the area. A few techs had been sent by the Senate to do their own fact gathering while a pair of Senate Clones in their red-marked armor stood guard at the door. Smoking piles of debris, burnt husks and pieces of ships were still there. Only the bodies had been removed.

You know as well as I that there are many Jedi who do not agree with the war or our part in it. There are many political idealists who serve among us in the Order. But so far that had been kept quiet even as the days of the stern and unbending Jedi Order faded away and a newer, more open one rose to take its place. Those that opposed the changes and the war were often one and the same. But so far they had known not to let the public see the cracks in the Jedi.

But we're talking about a traitor here! Not some political idealist.

"And a political idealist can eventually become a traitor. It doesn't take much to be pushed. Remember Count Dooku and General Krell? They both started as Jedi and political idealists. They both became traitors in the end."

Ahsoka stopped walking, crossing her arms over her chest as though hugging herself. She wasn't a child anymore, didn't have the same blind faith of her youth. She knew there were issues in the Jedi Order, knew that there were Jedi who had fallen off the path. But those Jedi had fallen so long ago or were of an older generation and so set in the old ways that they could see the good that the changes were doing. She didn't know anyone her age or her siblings' ages or even Obi-Wan's age that still saw the changes as bad if they ever did.

"The only way it will be proven true about if a Jedi did this or not will be through analysis and investigation." Knight and Padawan spun to face a crime scene analysis droid. He didn't seem at all impressed with the Jedi sent to investigate the crime. The droid flipped up it's visor and looked down at the datapad in his hands.

"And who are you?"

"I am Russo-ISC. I am the Crime Scene Analyzer for the Jedi Order. Master Windu himself assigned me to assist you and your Padawan with the investigation." Ahsoka covered her mouth to hide her small smirk. That somewhat explained the droid's attitude. It was very similar to her sterner Uncle.

"Alright then Russo..." Anakin eyed the droid, crossing his arms and rolling his eyes when Ahsoka without thinking copied him. "I want you and Ahsoka to start doing the interviews. Analise is already there, so she can help you if you need it."

"Thank you Knight Skywalker, but I would prefer to interview the witnesses alone."

"Okay...but why?"

"It seems that many of those wounded in the bombing have heard the rumors that a Jedi was behind it. Some of them will show ill-will towards you."

Anakin reached out and rested a hand on Ahsoka's shoulder as they fell and she lowered her head slightly to stare at her feet. It was not a secret that there were those who hated the Jedi. They came across them every-time they stepped out onto the battlefield and in her own family.

But this was people in the Republic. Beings who worked in the Temple on a daily basis and saw almost every day. They knew them, knew what they were really like.

But now, because of the chance that a Jedi might be behind the bomb, they were afraid and no longer trusted the Order.

Anakin squeezed her shoulder and Ahsoka looked at him, feeling the reassurance and comfort of her older brother. "I think that you're over-exaggerating there Russo. Jedi were among the maintenance crew and Clones here when the blast happened. There are Jedi among the dead and wounded." He stepped away from them. "Now take Ahsoka with you. Let me know if you find anything."

"Will do Master."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Can you tell me if you noticed anything odd about the hanger?"

Analise smiled as she glanced at her little sister from the corner of her eye. The Padawan was standing as tall as she could, datapad in hand, and her eyes set in determination. She was growing up and seemed to enjoy playing the role of detective.

The worker Ahsoka was questioning yelped as he as he pushed himself up. Analise used the Force to lightly cool his pain as she gently pushed the 2-1B surgical droid, taking his place as she tended the man's leg. His orange jumpsuit and helmet were stained with dirt, singed, and smelt of smoke, oils, and fuel.

"No miss I didn't," he admitted. "But I had left the hanger five minutes before the bomb went off."

"And you didn't notice anything odd before that."

"Nothing at all." The man paused and Analise narrowed her eyes. The man's answer had been truthful, but now she could see the colors shifting to pale yellow and orange. A mixture of nervousness and hesitancy. "Is it true what their saying? That it was a Jedi who did this?"

Ahsoka and Analise stared at each other as the Knight rose up, wiping her hands on a cloth that the the med-droid handed her. "We're not certain who carried this attack out just yet. We're looking into all possible angles." The worker relaxed a little under the woman's gentle gaze. "What I do know is that you'll be fine. Just a little bacta and a few days off that leg and you'll be back to work in no time. Ahsoka..."

"Thank you for your help." Ahsoka followed her older sister to the center of the room. Russo meet them there, his own datapad in hand. Ahsoka let go of her datapad with one hand, using it to rub her arm as shivers ran up and down her body. "This level of distrust...I mean some of these people have been working here in the Temple for years."

"That's what fear can do Ahsoka. It can take the trust someone has held in a person or thing and turn it into something irrational..."

"Excuse me..." The Knight, Padawan, and droid turned to see a Pantoran male. He was slouched on a bench, looking just as tired and dirty as the others in the medbay. But he didn't seem to be holding any of the same fear that the others held. "I might be able to tell who did this. Who sent off the bomb and blew up the hanger."

Ahsoka nearly darted forward, Russo marching at her side, fingers already tapping away at the datapad. "Who do you think it was?"

"Jackar Bowmani," the man answered as he rubbed his forehead lightly. "I believe he was the one who did all of this."

"Jackar Bowmani?" The markings on Ahsoka's face wrinkled as she furrowed her brow. "Who is he?"

"Jackar was part of the maintenance crew that worked in the hanger."

"What makes you think it was Jackar?"

"I was going on my shift change and passed him. The whole morning he had spent working in the section where the blast had come from."

Russo brushed past Ahsoka and held his datapad up, facing the Pantoran so he could see the image on it of a male Abyssin. "Is this man Jackar Bowmani?"

"Yeah...yeah that's him."

"We need to know. Have you seen Jackar Bowmani at all since the explosion." The man shook his head.

"No, but to be totally honest I haven't really seen much of anything or anyone since the explosion."

Analise watched with pride as Ahsoka stepped up towards the worker. The Pantoran was stiff as she leaned forward and gently rested her hand on his shoulder. His body relaxed and some of the pain seemed to lift from his body.

"I'm very sorry." The worker nodded and even smiled as Ahsoka stepped away, turning to face her sister. Analise wrapper an arm around Ahsoka's shoulders once she drew near, glancing down at her datapad.

"Looks like you and Russo will need to find this Jackar Bowmani..." Analise pause and saw Ahsoka's eyes widen as fear rippled in the Force. The sisters glanced up to see that Anakin had arrived, pausing as he searched the room for them. The workers that had been lounging by the doors, waiting to be seen got up and moved as fast they could away from him.

Anakin hunched his shoulders for a moment before straightening them and marching forward to Analise and Ahsoka. "Were you able to learn anything Master?"

He shook his head. "No. I did discover that the rumor about a Jedi doing it has been growing. I can feel the anger, the fear, the tension growing in the Temple."

"It's the same here too," Analise looked back over her shoulder. "Most of the workers here would rather the droids take care of them instead of me."

"Well..." Ahsoka looked down at the datapad in Russo's hand before looking back to her big brother. "Russo and I have a lead that might get us somewhere." She pulled out her image caster and called up the image of the Abyssin male. Anakin took the caster, studying the file.

"This is Jackar Bowmani. A witness said they saw him in the area where the bomb exploded right before it happened," Russo reported. "We have been unable to locate him anywhere."

"Are you kidding me?" Anakin scoffed. "There's no way that someone can just completely disappear."

"They can if it was planned out."

"Well it would have to be for him to be able to get past Jedi." Anakin slipped the caster into his belt pouch. "I'll head out to the front and talk to security."

"Ahsoka and Russo can stay here with me for now," Analise smiled at the pair. "Maybe we'll learn some more about Jackar or just anything."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

There had been a time when there had been no one outside the Temple, standing at the steps with their fists and voices raised in anger. But in recent weeks it seemed there was an anti-war and anti-Jedi protest everyday. And at each protest there were more beings, more signs, and more anger. It was bad enough that Temple guards and Senate Clones stood at the ready and today there were even lattys.

It wasn't how the Temple was suppose to be and it only made Anakin hope that the plan his sister, wife, and friends were working on would come together.

"There are more today," Anakin said as his eyes took in the crowd below. "Are they family and friends of those who were lost?"

"Yes, some are," Cin Drallig, Battlemaster of the Temple answered as he turned to face Anakin. "They've come to look for answers, even join in the chants that call for our downfall."

"They're not the only ones looking for answers." Anakin pulled the caster from his belt and held it out. He thumbed it on so that the older Jedi could see the image and file. "I need to find this man Cin. So if you see him, alert me immediately. He may be the key to figuring out what happened..."

"Jackar! That is Jackar!" Both men's heads swung around. A human woman, dressed in purple and with tattoos decorating her body, had pushed her way through the front of the steps. She was staring at the image in shock.

"Are you saying that you know this man?" Anakin had to shout like the woman to be heard over the roar of the crowd.

"Yes. Jackar is my husband. Ever since I hard that there had been an explosion at the Temple, I've been trying everything I can to reach him. Can you tell me where he is? Please!"

"I'm sorry, but I need to come with me."

The woman wrapped her arms around herself and stepped back. Then she lifted her head high, squared her shoulders, and walked forward to the Temple.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A small part of Barriss, a very small part had hoped that maybe they wouldn't have found Jackar Bowmani. That even if they had found him, that maybe his wife would have been so frightened by her that she would have stayed quiet and stayed away.

But they had found Bowmani and the wife hadn't stayed away.

So now she had to accept that once again Ahsoka's fate had been sealed. That there was nothing she could do to help her friend.

Slowly Barriss strolled down the hallway where the interrogation rooms were. She had timed it just right. The Skywalker twins were there. Anakin was just opening the door to one of the rooms. The young Knight tensed when she realized that Analise was with him, before forcing herself to relax. The Healer-Knight's gift was powerful, but she knew she was safe and that her plan could go forward.

It had to go forward.

The Jedi had to return to their true path.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Letta Turmond turned as soon as they had entered the room. She clutched a small cup of tea in her hands, but it appeared that she hadn't drank from it yet. Analise reached out with the Force, using her gift lightly. The woman was nervous and afraid...

"You're telling me that you have no idea where my husband is?"

"I'm sorry," Anakin lowered his head. "We don't know where Jackar is right now, but we are doing everything we can to locate him."

"Ha!" Letta scoffed, slamming her cup down on the table in the center of the room. "You are telling that you are Jedi and you can't find Jackar?" Slowly she sat down as Analise tilted her head. Anger leaked into the nerves and fear.

"We understand your fustration Letta." Analise carefully and slowly walked around the table to stand at the woman's side. As she did she tapped Anakin's arm, signaling him to let her take the lead. "If there is anything..."

"No! Don't...I just want you to find my husband." She turned her head away from the Jedi so that she wasn't looking at them.

"I know you're hurting, but I still have to ask. Do you think that Jackar could something like this? Would he blow up the Temple?"

"You don't have a clue do you about just what someone has to go through work in the Temple." Letta turned back to face them, a sneer on her face as she glared at the twins. "People like us also aren't special. We aren't Clones nor able to use the Force. Not everyone can just walk into your damn Temple. Working here was all Jackar wanted and he dedicated his life to serving you Jedi. He passed every single one of those stupid entry tests that are required to work here," she waved her finger at them angrily.

"We know that it's the last thing you want to think about, but we still have to ask. At this point in the investigation, everyone is still a suspect."

"Believe me when I say that Jackar would never do anything like this. Just please do some good for once and find Jackar."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

She knows something.

Anakin glanced over at his twin. Analise was nibbling on her lower lip and he could see her mentally reviewing their questioning of Letta. They had had to let the woman go. There was no reason for them to keep her. I picked up that she wasn't the greatest fan of ours.

No...it's almost like she hates the Jedi. But more than that she knows something...

We'll figure it out Moon Anakin said as he caught her hand before she bring it up to rub her forehead and used their connection to soothe her growing headache. Let's work on finding Jackar.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A latty exploded in the hanger.

But Ahsoka barely glanced up at it. She kept her eyes on the datapad as she walked through flickering debris and bodies. She paused at one spot, tapping on the white tag that popped up and read over the information, checking it against her datapad. With a frown she tapped the tag again and vanished the file. Then Ahsoka continued to walk through the explosion.

"Using the information based on the trajectory of the debris," her eyes followed an arc of debris to a mass of frozen blue flames and smoke where the ship had stood, "it seems like the blast came from there."

"But where is the bomb residue?" Russo asked as he looked up from the controls for the holo. "There should be some..."

"Thinking that whoever is behind this triggered a ship to blow?" Anakin asked as he stepped gingerly over a large metal pipe.

"That's what we're going with. Right now Russo is trying to use the shrapnel to determine that for sure." Ahsoka drifted off to one side. "The witness Analise and I talked with said that he saw Jackar in this area. Maybe...maybe he had just planned to go through with it and then keep quiet?"

"Or..." Anakin turned to face Ahsoka as his Padawan lowered her datapad and sighed.

"Or the attacker really was a Jedi."

But still they hoped that it wasn't a Jedi.

"Excuse me Jedi, but I have found an anomaly." They turned to Russo. The droid had lowered his visor and pressed a button on the controls. The chaos around them was suddenly flying past them as Russo strolled through it. He stepped at a section of debris, tags popping up on them indicating that something had been found on them. "The pieces here came from the origin of the blast. Closer examination shows that they are covered in microscopic droids of a highly volatile nature." The circle of one the tags grew bigger, showing dozens of tiny little droids.

"You mean nano-droids?"

"Yes Knight Skywalker. Nano-droids."

There was a thump as the holograms faded, the door at the end of the hanger slowly opened, and the lights in the hanger came back. Ahsoka shook her head, frustrated. "Great...so this means we have to go chase nano-droids now."

"Russo I want you to go over the security footage again and see if Jackar went to any other parts of the Temple. Ahsoka, you come with me. We need to find out how Jackar got his hands on these nano-droids."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Master Jedi," one of the droids greeted them as they walked into the small, dim, and slightly grimy old central security terminal that had been set aside for their investigation. "We have Bowmani's file." Anakin took the offered datapad, holding it so that both he and Ahsoka could read the information.

The teenager's eyes widened slightly. Bowmani is a munitions expert..." Something that had not been needed at the Temple before the war.

"Says here that he was the foreman over all of the gunships, bombs, and weapons. He specialized in nano-weaponry!"

"Which means that he could have easy access to nano-droids," Ahsoka pointed out as the pair walked over to where Russo was watching sped up footage from security cameras on various screens. "We really need to find this guy Master."

Anakin nodded then winced when he finally focused on Russo's screens. "Isn't this going too fast for you?" he asked as he eyes started to blur slightly. He shook his head to clear his vision.

"No," the droid answered simply as he tilted his head from screen to screen. "It is only simple data. By watching the footage at this pace I am able to view hundreds of hours of it." Ahsoka wished she could do that. Would be handy to catch up on all the shows she missed when she was running missions.

"Okay...have you found any sign of Jackar?"

"No, I have not."

"Well then..." Anakin rubbed his hands together. "I'm going to go see if I can round a couple Jedi and do a search of the Temple. If Jackar stuck around, he might be planning another attack."

"Rather than Jedi, I have droids. They can get the job done much faster." Ahsoka giggled quietly as Anakin rolled his eyes. Her brother nodded though. It rankled him that Russo was right, but Russo was right.

And they didn't exactly have a lot of time to spare.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Then what you are telling the Council is that so far you have found nothing so far." The three siblings lowered their heads as they stood before the Council. Seats that had been filled were empty, only holos there to represent the members who had been forced to leave. Analise peeked up a little at her husband's holo-form who smiled at her a little in support.

"We do have one clue that we are in the middle of following..."

"But we still don't have answers." The all too familiar heavy silence fell over the Council Chamber. Mace sighed and leaned back in his seat.

"I know that I don't have to remind you that it is imperative that we find the truth behind the attack and find it soon." Mace glanced at the female Knight. "I trust you have heard the news coming from the Senate."

Analise slowly nodded. "The whispers are that if we don't find the answer soon, the Senate might hold a meeting to decide whether or not to have the military police get involved in the investigation."

"What?" Ahsoka shook her head. "No...they can't do that. This is a Jedi investigation..." Anakin grabbed Ahsoka's shoulder and gently pulled her back as Ahsoka took her head and squeezed it. Ahsoka took a deep breath and released her anger into the Force, calming with the help of her siblings.

"We know that Ahsoka, but there Clones that died in that explosion. It wasn't just civilians working on the gunships in that hanger. There were maintenance Clones too. When something like this happens and Clones are lost, the Senate does tend to take notice. And it doesn't matter where it happens."

Beep-beep!

Anakin frowned and lifted his wrist up, pressing his com button. "Master Skywalker, we have found Jackar's location."

"Good work Russo. No have all exits locked down so he can't escape! Give us your location and we'll meet you there."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Russo's location was one of the small medbays the Temple had and had been pressed into a morgue. This has the Skywalker siblings confused as they scanned the cots, some of which were topped with coffins. Ahsoka swallowed and Analise wrapped her arm around her shoulder.

"Well where's Jackar?"

"Part of Jackar is over here," Russo waved to one of the beds and Anakin growled.

"This isn't the time to joke Russo."

"It's no joke," Russo responded when they reached the bed he had waved too. Upon it lay a single green hand. "This part is all that remains of Jackar Bowmani."

"His hand? What happened to the rest of him?"

"Simple. The rest of Jackar Bowmani exploded."

"Was he too close to the bomb when it went off?"

"No," Russo proclaimed as he raised his visor. "He exploded because he was the bomb," Russo proclaimed as he raised his visor." He lowered his visor then picked up a hand held-scanner. Russo gave Ahsoka the datapad attached to the scanner while he held it over the hand.

"What's this?"

"This is the connection we've been looking for Master Analise between Jackar and the explosion in the hanger." He switched on the scanner and blue beams slowly rotated over the limb.

"Wow! His hand is covered in the nano-droids." She glanced back and forth between her older siblings. "But how did they even get into his bloodstream?"

"Well this just keeps getting better and better," Anakin huffed as he crossed his arms. "I'll take Ahsoka to Jackar's home and see what we can find there. Analise..."

"I'll stay here. I can help out with the injured that are still here and listen for whispers from the Senate at the same time."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Jackar Bowmani's apartment was located in the under city. It was down enough that the sunlight barely filtered through, but not low enough that crime controlled it. The outside of the apartment building had been covered with graffiti. Inside the halls were dirty and trash covered the floor.

"This isn't the nicest place to live," Anakin mused as they reached Jackar's apartment.

"I thought that civvies working for the Jedi got paid better."

Anakin knocked on the door a couple times. "They do which makes me wonder if he stayed here by choice..." By choice because leaving in the under city meant that he could fly under the radar if he had other motives for getting a job with the Jedi.

He knocked again, but no one answered the door. The Knight reached out with the Force, slipping into the lock by the door, and fiddling with the wires until the door unlocked and opened. Ahsoka followed her Master inside the dark apartment. The only light coming from the hallway.

The apartment itself was clear. Nothing seemed out of place. "Letta! Letta are you here?" There was only silence. "Looks like no one's here. Ahsoka you go ahead and search for the droids," he nodded at the scanner and pad in her hands. "But I want you to be careful. Jackar was a munitions expert and I really don't want to set off another explosion today. I'll see if he left any sort of note."

"Got it Master." Ahsoka held up the scanner, moving it from right to left as she slowly began to make her way through the apartment. She frowned at the pad and made her way to the back hallway where no light from the hallway shined. She reached over to hit the light switch then huffed when all it did was beep, but there was no light. 'Lucky I'm a hunter,' she mused to herself. She didn't have perfect vision in the dark, but it was still better than other species.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Anakin kept a close watch on Ahsoka through their Bond. He trusted her, but he didn't trust what might be at the apartment. He shifted, standing, and moving to the view-screen. Anakin ran his fingers along the edges and back. Nothing. So he began to inspect the painting hanging behind the screen.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Something was off...

Ahsoka frowned as she turned down a corner in the hallway. The light overhead flickered on as she followed her feeling of unease.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

'No luck there,' Anakin sighed and rubbed the back of his head. That's when he saw the pile of datapads on a small table. Maybe they would have something.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Letta are you in here?" Ahsoka called out as she stepped into the room which turned out to be a small kitchen. Her unease grew as she stepped further and further into the room.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Something under the datapads had begun to beep and flash red. Anakin frowned as he shifted the datapads. It was some sort of image caster. As soon as Anakin picked up the datapad on top of it an holo popped up. Bright red and white.

A Clone trooper helmet with a blood red-line slashed through it.

A symbol for those who were anti-war and anti-Jedi.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ahsoka's eyes widened as she held the scanner out towards the disposal. Master!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Master!

At Ahsoka's mental shout Anakin dropped the datapad he had been reading and ran as fast as he could to the back of the apartment. Ahsoka was in the kitchen, standing in front of the disposal. "The sensors are picking up traces of nano-droids from the disposal," she told him as she turned to face him and held up the datapad so he could see the screen. It was covered with readings of nano-droids. "This means that the nano-droids were in the food that Jackar ate."

"That means the question now is whether Jackar ate them of his own free will or if he was forced to?" He thought back to the anti-war holo in the living room.

"What are the two of you doing here?" Master and Padawan turned to the doorway. Letta stood there, glaring at the pair of them. But at the same time Ahsoka thought she felt nervous.

"Our investigation has proven that Jackar was involved with the bombing at the Temple."

"No...there's no way that's true. Jackar loved the Jedi," she practically spat out the word. "There's no way he would have done anything to harm them." Anakin frowned then waved Ahsoka forward.

"Scan Letta and see if she has any nano-droids on her Ahsoka." The woman took a small step back, her arms raised as though the Togruta was going to attack her instead of running the scanner over her.

"You're looking for nano-droids...I don't understand..."

"Letta's clean Master."

"Tell me what you mean by nano-droids," she demanded.

"Based on the information we've gathered so far, we've come to believe that Jackar was set up by someone that made him the bomb." Ahsoka could feel Letta becoming more tense the minute she mentioned Jackar had been set up. That she was really hiding something other than her dislike of the Jedi. Ahsoka glanced over at Anakin who had been watching Letta with narrowed eyes.

"I want to take you in for more questioning Letta," the Knight said as he stepped closer. She took a couple steps backwards, eyes darting around. "I'm hoping that you'll be able to help us make some sense out of all this..."

Letta sighed and wrapped her arms around herself. "Of course Master Jedi. I'll be glad to answer your questions and offer any help that I can."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The walkways were busy now as beings made their way home, to a bar, or to work. Letta's nails dug into her skin as she was escorted by the Jedi.

This wasn't how it was suppose to go. She wasn't suppose to get caught. If Letta went with the Jedi, it would be all over and she could kiss her life goodbye.

As she hit the last step, Letta reached out and grabbed a passing Khramboan by his shoulders. With a grunt she turned and shoved him as hard as she could into the Padawan. Ahsoka hit the ground, skinning her hands and knees as Letta took off.

"Letta! Wait!" Anakin's eyes scanned the area for the woman as the Khramboan stood and helped Ahsoka up. The Padawan smiled her thanks, rubbing her hands on her dress as she moved to her Master's side.

"That way Master Jedi!" A Bith riding in a trolley that traveled through the levels pointed. Letta had grabbed onto the side of a trolley that was heading towards the upper levels. The woman had pulled herself up onto the roof.

Take the high road Star!

Got it Master! Ahsoka wrapped the Force around her and ran as fast as she could as Anakin took off down a side path. Then she jumped high into the air, landing on top of advertisement before jumping again onto a light. Taking a deep breath, Ahsoka launched herself into the air again.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If Letta had been someone unfamiliar with Jedi, she would have let herself relax. Content and secure in the knowledge that she had lost them.

But Jackar's obsession, his near worship of the Jedi meant that Letta knew more about the so-called Peace Keepers than most. So she knew that they hadn't given up and while she couldn't see them, they were still there.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ahsoka ran along an elevated walkway. She brushed past pedestrians who were ready to shout until the saw the lightsabers bouncing against her hips. Then they let out huffs of annoyance and continued on. The only real protest Ahsoka got was from a very upset astromech who wasn't at all happy when Ahsoka had leapt over him at full speed.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Letta could see the Knight. Still chasing after her from the ground. Jedi were good, but they could still be tricked.

She leapt from the trolley to another going in a different direction and smiled to herself. The Padawan had vanished, but Letta wasn't overly worried about her. Her contact had assured her that the Padawan wasn't a big concern. But her contact had said if she needed an opening and had the chance to hurt the Togruta, to take it. Apparently the Knight and Padawan acted like siblings and if the Padawan was hurt bad enough, the Knight would drop everything to care for her.

Like the damn Jedi actually knew what truly was.

When the trolley got close to the ground near an alley, Letta jumped down. It was dark and dingy, but she knew she would be fine. It looked like she had lost the Jedi which meant she would be able to get to safety with one of her friends.

"Letta!" The woman stumbled back as she looked up to see the Togruta crouched down on top of storage unit. Ahsoka watched as she began to slowly back up...

Only to bump into Anakin who had come up behind her. His arms were crossed and he was staring at her with rock-hard eyes. Letta thought she could see something flashing in his eyes. "Let me go! Leave me alone!"

"That's the thing about running," Ahsoka pointed out as she jumped down from the unit and walked towards Letta. "You see when a person runs it usually means that they know than they are telling us."

"I know that Jackar is dead! He's dead and you're trying to pin the blame for his murder on me."

"How would you know that Jackar is dead?" Anakin questioned. "After all no one ever said that he was dead." Letta stepped back, fear rushing over her.

"And by running, you tell us that you had something to do with the bomb and Jackar's death."

"How dare you!" Letta snapped. "Jackar was my husband!"

"The Jedi were blamed because of your actions," Ahsoka growled at the woman and jabbed her finger in her face. "People were killed because of your actions!" Anakin was shocked to notice small flecks of sliver and gold popping in Ahsoka's eyes.

Letta reached out and grabbed Ahsoka's wrist, squeezing it as hard as she could, twisting it before throwing it to the side. "You can't prove anything Jedi!"

"Watch yourself," Anakin purred. Letta turned, startled as Ahsoka watched her brother and Master. She could just make out the gold flecks in his eyes and read the anger in the tense lines of his body. She smiled just enough to let Anakin knew she was okay and he relaxed just a little. "Did you feed those nano-droids to Jackar Letta? You are going to answer me now!" Anakin's voice echoed off the buildings and in the Force.

Letta sighed.

She had lost. There was no point. Not even her weak attack had been enough to shift the Jedi's focus so she could get away. "Yes...I feed the nano-droids to him. I feed them to Jackar."

"You really set up your own husband to die?" Ahsoka nearly yelled in disbelief. Letta turned to the teen, glaring at her.

"You are dealing with things that you don't and will never understand Jedi," her voice was full of scorn and anger as she spoke. Ahsoka shook her head.

"Don't worry Letta," she placed a firm hand on Letta's shoulder and forced her to follow Anakin. "You're going someplace where you'll have plenty of time to explain everything to us."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"For the time being we're keeping Letta in a holding cell below the Temple for further questioning."

"And I have good news as well. We did not find any other nano-droids in the sweep of the Temple." The group paused as Russo lowered his visor. "It is also my pleasure to report that after reviewing the footage it shows that Jackar Bowmani acted alone. There were no Jedi involved at all."

Ahsoka smiled brightly at her siblings, Mace, and Yoda. "Thanks for the good news Russo. You've done a great job." She switched off the com.

"Did this woman give any explanation behind her reasons for attacking us?" Mace asked.

"No," Ahsoka shook her head as her siblings watched her with pride. "She hasn't given us any answer yet."

"For right now I think we can safely and easily guess what her motives were. Letta is among those of the public whose opinion of the Jedi is growing lower and lower. With each day that passes the war is growing less and less popular." He and Yoda nodded to the siblings who bowed in return.

Ahsoka leaned lightly against Anakin who wrapped an arm around her shoulder. I'm relieved that we solved this case and it's pretty much over, but...

You're wondering what would have happened had it really been a Jedi? Anakin finished Ahsoka's thought as Analise frowned.

Yes...I'm not sure how I would be feeling if in the end we had discovered a Jedi had really been behind the bombing.

The truth is Ahsoka that there are going to be Jedi that will disappoint us. There has been and there always will be. Analise brought the siblings to a halt as she took Ahsoka and Anakin's hands in hers so that all three of the siblings were linked. But as long as there as Jedi who fight for what's right, than it makes what we are doing worthwhile.

And we Skywalkers will always fight for what's right. Together.

Together as the Sun, Moon, and Star.

Ahsoka said nothing. She just smiled and soaked in the warmth and love that came from her siblings.

They were right.

They would always fight together.
