A/N: Thank you for the comments.

Jennifer Baratta - Thanks!

linda101 - Thanks. I'm glad you are still enjoying it

Guest - Thanks - I hope you enjoyed them, they were fun to write, so thanks for the idea. It's a mixed blessing for Kara, on the one hand she had more friends, on the other she won't be eating pizza for a while. Poor Maggie, it will only get worse for her.

As Alex explained the latest features of a gadget she had made she noticed Kara wasn't paying attention.

"Kara!"

"Sorry? What?" Kara responded.

"Are things talking to you again?" Alex asked.

"No."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Then what's with the spacing out?" Alex pressed.

"I was bored." Kara lied.

"And the truth? If you are hearing voices again I need to know."

"I promise I'm not." Kara said.

"Then what's going on?"

"I just have a lot going on. It's not like I have really done my job at CatCo for the last couple of days. I just have lots to do."

"You promise?" Alex asked.

"I promise."

"Okay then. We can cover this tomorrow." Alex said. "Go to CatCo."

"You sure?"

"I am. I have plenty to do anyway." Alex nodded.

"Don't forget our therapy session at three." J'onn said. "We'll meet here at two fifty."

"Or you could just go by yourself."

"No chance." J'onn replied.

"Fine." Alex conceded leaving.

"What's really going on?" J'onn asked Kara once Alex was gone.

"I'm worried."

"About?"

"It's complicated." Kara said.

"Talking might make it seem less complicated." J'onn pointed out.

"When I was talking to, well everything, Maggie came in and saw me, but she didn't ask anything. Then later she came back and when I explained that I had nothing to lose by eating vegan ice cream she didn't ask why. And when Lena offered to explain what was happening, she didn't want to know."

"And?" J'onn asked already lost.

"Well, Lena pointed out that being curious is kind of in the DNA of a detective. And Maggie is a really good detective isn't she?"

"She is." J'onn agreed.

"Yet she had no curiosity about it. And that got me thinking about why."

"And?" J'onn asked.

"What if she already knew? What if Landon has somehow got to her? I know that Maggie would never betray Alex. But what if he is controlling her. I mean if he made me think food was talking to me imagine what he could do to a human brain."

"While it is true that human minds are easy to manipulate, why would he? Besides it was Hypno that made you think things were talking, not Landon."

"That is only an assumption." Kara pointed out.

"Landon tried to cure you."

"Tried and failed." Kara pointed out. "Or he was behind it all along and the hypnotherapy session was just his way of making it worse."

"Alex and I were there the whole time." J'onn reminded her.

"He could have hypnotised you as well."

"You are sounding like Alex, not Kara." J'onn said.

"Do you have a better reason for Maggie not caring?"

"Yes. You and Alex have pushed her too far. She has already said she doesn't want to hear about anything Landon related."

"I guess. But shouldn't Maggie trust Alex?"

"Trust goes both ways, you could argue Alex should trust Maggie." J'onn countered.

"But if Alex is wrong and Maggie believes her no one gets hurt, but if Maggie is wrong Alex gets hurt." Kara pointed out. "I even tried to explain the wager to Maggie, but she didn't get it."

"You said yourself Maggie is a great detective. She looks at the evidence, follows leads, and makes arrests based on the evidence. She won't believe hearsay."

"So we need evidence. Which you can get when you are in the session with Alex."

"We'll see. There is a good chance Maggie is right."

"You don't really believe that do you?" Kara asked.

"I know better than to doubt Alex's instincts. But I have to complete a proper investigation." J'onn said tactfully.

"I guess." Kara said. "I'll see you later." She added as she walked to the door. But as she got there she turned back and asked. "J'onn?"

"Yes?"

"Can you not mention this to Alex?"

"Of course." J'onn smiled reassuringly, but as Kara left he frowned and shook his head. He then looked at the mini J'onn action and asked. "What are we going to do with them?" After a moment he then said. "Great, now I'm talking to random objects."

"Kara, Alex, come in and sit down." Landon greeted at three.

"Dr Landon." 'Kara' greeted as Alex silently sat down.

"Perhaps we should continue discussing what we didn't finish in the last session." Landon suggested.

"And what was that?" Alex asked not having any idea what Landon had discussed with J'onn and Garfield.

"Is that a joke?" Landon asked.

"No, it's just that so much has happened it is hard to remember it." Alex replied.

"If this is another attempt to belittle me it is getting a little tiresome." Landon said.

"No belittling intended." Alex assured him.

"Perhaps we should start a new topic?" 'Kara' suggested.

"I think there is merit in continuing." Landon said.

"Or we could move on." 'Kara' pressed.

Noticing J'onn's insistence that the subject changed Alex grew curious about why and asked.

"If Landon wants to continue, perhaps we should. Why don't you start it off?"

"Me?" 'Kara' asked.

"Yes, you." Alex said confirmed.

"Kara, you seem a lot less forthcoming than last week. Has something happened? Other than the talking laundry that is."

"That is all in the past now." Alex said.

"It was only a few days ago." Landon said. "It does concern me how quickly you sweep things aside instead of reflecting."

"I'm the one trying to go back to the last session." Alex reminded him.

"A session you claim to not remember?"

"Maybe that's why I am keen to revisit it." Alex suggested. When Landon looked at her suspiciously she added. "If you prefer me to go, I can."

"That's not what I said." Landon replied.

"Good. So Kara, why don't you start?" Alex suggested.

"Perhaps I want to discuss the whole talking clothes thing." J'onn said.

"We can do that next week." Alex pressed. "I really think we should complete last week's discussion."

"Isn't the talking clothes more pressing?"

"You're cured now." Alex pointed out, wondering why J'onn was so keen to hide the topic of last week's discussion. "Unless you think Landon did something to you when he hypnotised you?"

"That's not what I said." 'Kara' pointed out.

"Oh, I see what is happening." Landon said.

"You do?" Alex asked surprised as 'Kara' looked worried.

"You two have come up with the idea that if you bicker for an hour you don't actually need to discuss anything."

"A little paranoid aren't you?" Alex asked. "Maybe you need to see a shrink?"

"There has been no such scheming." 'Kara' said, trying not to sound too much like J'onn.

"Past experience with you makes that hard to believe."

"Wow, you are beyond paranoid." Alex said. "And you are accusing Kara of lying."

"I promise you that we have not discussed this session in any way." 'Kara' said.

"But you don't believe her." Alex said picking up on Landon's disbelief. "Which makes me wonder what the point of therapy is. What makes it even worse is your hippie replacement also accused Kara of lying when she was opening up. Yet you didn't learn from that."

As Maggie returned from work she entered her and Alex's apartment to see Kara pacing up and down.

"Kara." Maggie greeted.

"Al- oh hey Maggie." Kara said disappointed it wasn't Alex.

"Nice to see you too." Maggie said dryly. "Where's Alex?"

"At the DEO."

"And you're here because?"

"I'm waiting to see what happened in her session with Landon."

"She had a session by herself? There goes my quiet evening."

"It wasn't by herself. It was with me."

"Then shouldn't you know how the session went?"

"No, I wasn't there." Kara pointed out.

"Kara, it's been a really long day." Maggie said. "And you are not making any sense."

"I don't know what I can tell you."

"What has she done?" Maggie asked getting worried.

"Nothing."

"Kara."

"She really hasn't, technically it was J'onn and Garfield."

"What was J'onn and Garfield?" Maggie asked. "Actually don't tell me. I don't want to know." She added turning.

"Where are you going?"

"To the bar."

-00-

"So what exactly did you and Garfield discuss in the last session?" Alex asked when they finally returned to J'onn's office.

"Does it matter? I mean it was all made up."

"You seemed very eager not to tell me."

"I didn't want to raise any suspicions."

"You are a terrible liar. But it is okay, I'll ask Garfield."

"Garfield doesn't like you."

"I know. So if he thinks telling me will cause problems he'll spill." Alex pointed out.

"I would have thought you'd want to discuss my impression of Landon in that session." J'onn said changing subjects.

"I do. But I know you won't share your findings until you are sure. The fact you haven't said I imagined the whole thing means you saw enough to believe that I might be right. So now you will continue to investigate. That's good enough for me."

"I'm starting to think that I trained you too well." J'onn frowned.

"You said there was no such thing as being trained too much or too well." Alex reminded him. She then paused before saying. "I could use my training to figure out exactly what you said to Landon, which you clearly don't want. Or, if you wanted me to stop trying to find out what you discussed in the last session, you could share your findings with Maggie."

"I don't think I want to get involved."

"You're not. You are just sharing your opinion."

"My opinion isn't that you are right." J'onn reminded her.

"I know. But your opinion is I could be right."

-00-

"Can I buy you a drink?" J'onn offered when he saw Maggie at the bar.

"As an apology?" Maggie asked.

"Apology for what?" J'onn questioned.

"I don't know. But something tells me you owe me one."

"I do." J'onn sighed, signalling the barman.

"So what have you done?"

"A couple of weeks ago I wanted to get to the bottom of why Alex distrusts Landon so much, so after a little persuasion, Garfield and I pretended to be Alex and Kara in a session."

"Why?"

"To see how Landon treated them." J'onn said. "The intention was to do it and not have anyone know. But Winn saw us, as Alex and Kara, leave the session when Alex and Kara weren't around. The girls assumed he was wrong, but when Kara started talking to clothes, she thought it was a sign she was crazy so I had to explain what had really happened."

"Okay, I don't agree with your tactics, but at least you'll have seen first and that Alex and Kara are reading too much into this."

"Actually -" J'onn started only for Maggie to cut him off.

"Please tell me you do not buy into this?"

"After the first session-"

"First session? How many have you done?" Maggie asked.

"One with Garfield as Alex and one with Alex." J'onn said. "As I was saying, after the first session I couldn't see anything that really backed up Alex's claim, although Landon did appear more aggressive than I would have thought. But then again I could see how Alex might have driven him to that and Garfield was being, well Garfield. But in today's session Alex was actually much meeker than I was expecting, but Landon continued to act aggressively and at times paranoid."

"Something he has probably been driven to." Maggie pointed out.

"Maybe." J'onn said. "But there was something about him that makes me think he warrants further investigation."

"Couldn't you have just read his mind in the session and put an end to this?"

"That would be completely inappropriate."

"Opposed to pretending to be Kara? What if Landon shared confidential information because he thought he was talking to Kara?" Maggie asked, once again trying to be the voice of reason.

"I thought about that and I assumed that Alex and Kara never would have shared confidential information with him."

"While true, it is a very grey line you are walking." Maggie said.

"I know. That is why I am here drinking."

-00-

"How did it go?" Kara asked when Alex finally showed up at her apartment.

"Pretty good. Landon was more weird than normal and J'onn has seen enough to think we may be right. So now all we need is to bring Maggie on board."

"And are you going to tell her about this latest deception?" Lena asked.

"Actually Maggie does know already, maybe." Kara said looking guilty.

"J'onn has talked to her already?" Alex asked.

"No. I kind of told her." Kara confessed.

"Why?"

"She interrogated me?"

"Using Kryptonite?" Alex asked.

"No."

"Then why did you talk?" Alex questioned.

"Because she is a really good interrogator. I mean she's not you, but she's good."

"Maggie came here and interrogated you?" Alex asked.

"No not exactly. Technically I was at your place and she wanted to know why and it kind of went from there."

"What exactly did you tell her?"

"Just that you had therapy with me, but not me. Then she kind of left."

"Well J'onn is going to see her and explain things." Alex said.

"So he really believes you?" Lena asked trying not to sound cynical.

"Us. And kind of. He admitted than Landon was weird and paranoid."

"There is someone whose opinion you haven't asked yet." Lena said.

"I was assuming you would just share when you felt the time was right." Alex countered.

"I didn't mean me. I meant Simon." Lena said.

"Yeah, no." Kara said.

"Why? Wait is he still talking?" Alex asked concerned.

"No. At least I don't think so. To be honest, I've not tried. I mean I kind of want him to. But at the same time I still can't eat pizza and I don't want to lose any more food. Also Simon talking was a little weird."

"So you are fine giving a sock a persona and talking to it, but not fine when it talks back?" Lena asked.

"That's pretty much what Simon said too." Kara replied.

"I have a whole psychology department that would love to study you." Lena commented as the door opened and Maggie walked in.

"So do you believe us?" Alex asked.

"What I believe is that working for the DEO makes everyone insanely paranoid." Maggie said. "Which is weird, because don't you guys have enough real threats to deal that making more up serves no purpose."

"You still don't believe us?" Alex asked.

"Out of interest how many people have to believe them before you admit you are the crazy one?" Lena asked.

"Having a cult like following doesn't make someone right." Maggie countered.

"True, but this is hardly a cult." Lena said. "In fact there are only two people who are stubbornly holding onto their beliefs and are unwilling to concede any ground, in a cult like way. And they are Alex and you."

"Me?" Maggie asked incredulously.

"Yes, you. Your faith in Landon is almost fanatical."

"Fanatical?" Maggie asked.

"You are kind of stubborn." Kara agreed.

"I'm stubborn?" Maggie asked wondering how many drinks she had shared with J'onn.

"Very." Lena nodded. "A solid seven on the Lex scale."

"You really get a kick out of this don't you?" Maggie asked Lena.

"Out of what?" Lena asked looking innocent.

"Maybe we should go." Alex suggested, sensing she was going to a loser in the current battle.

"That is the most sensible thing I have heard all evening."
