My Immortal Guardian
Elsa stood staring at the stone that said words.
No tears came from her eyes.
Jackson Overlord Frost. Beloved son and big brother. And best of any friend.
Elsa wasn't going to cry. She's cried enough over it. Besides, this was made many years ago.
"Your here huh?" Said a voice.
Elsa didn't need to look at who was speaking. "Still is hard to believe that your alive." She said.
Jack stood next to her staring at his own grave. "My sister and mother wouldn't believe I was alive. But you do."
Elsa nodded. "I saw you die." She said.
Jack sighed. He was taking his sister, Elsa and Anna out ice skating when the ice began to crack. Elsa was climbing a tree when he fell in the water. She watched from high up in the tree, not allowed to use her powers. Which could have saved him and his sister.
Elsa has hated herself since then. She couldn't save Jack from the ice. And from drowning in the ice cold water.
She thought he was dead for good. Then a year later, he's back from the dead and only a few people can see him. Elsa being one of them. Jack hasn't been to anyone else except her.
"Yea. Um...I'm sorry I put you through that." Jack said.
"Jack. I don't even know how you are here now. But I hope your not leaving again." Elsa said.
"I'm not planning on it. I mean...I am immortal now." Jack said.
"What?"
"I can't die again. I can't age either. I'm stuck looking like I'm 18 for the rest of...my frozen in time of a "life" now. And I'm living inside a huge tree in a crowded park in a city of the NEVER SLEEPING people. I'm a guardian who can't be seen by adults. Only children." Jack sighed.
"Oh. Jack." Elsa felt bad.
"And when all those children grow up, they'll forget all about me. They won't see me anymore. They'll stop...believing in me." He said.
Elsa wasn't sure what to say.
"Please. Don't get upset over what I'm saying, Elsa. I'm just grouchy because I can't have a normal life anymore." Jack said.
Elsa took a deep breath. "Jack. No matter what happens to you, I'll ALWAYS believe in you. I mean I am an adult and I can still see you."
Jack smiled. "Thanks Elsa. But I don't think this is going to last very long." He shook his head. "Besides, I'll be fine with your little snow babies." Jack chuckled.
Elsa lightly punched him on the shoulder. "Ha ha. Very funny!" She said. "But in all seriousness, I will never forget you. There has to be a reason why I still see you." She said. "My immortal BFF." She teased.
"Boy Friend Forever?" Jack teased back.
Elsa didn't laugh.
"Never mind. What do you think then?"
"Let's go and see who else may see you. Like Hiccup, Anna, Rapunzel, Oh! Merida." Elsa smiled.
Jack wasn't sure where Elsa was going with this but he followed her anyway.
Meeting most of their friends, it turns out, all of them CAN see him.
"Jack?!"
"Dude! How is this possible?!"
"I saw you fall in the ice while my sister was in a tree! How is this possible?"
Everyone had many questions.
"The guardians are real. Easter Bunny. Santa Claus. Tooth Fairy. And Sandman. Also Mother Goose." Jack said.
"We knew that one. And her name is Katherine." Elsa said. "But it's great that all our friends can see you." She added.
"Are we not?" Rapunzel asked.
"Be nice." Hiccup snapped.
"So...You knew?" Anna asked her sister.
"Yes. Meet our new immortal friend." Elsa said smiling as hard as she could without feeling uncomfortable.
"Guess...nothing will ever be the same again now." Merida said.
"What does that mean?" Flynn asked.
"If Jack's immortal...he can't die. Or age. While the rest of us...he watches grow old and he'll be putting all of us in the ground. Watching our kids grow and die too. And over and over." Merida said.
Everyone, including Elsa, were sad and quiet.
"Jack."
"It's okay Elsa." Jack said.
"No! I should have saved you! I had the power and you died because of me!" Elsa was yelling now.
"It wasn't your fault."
"I was the one who told your sister to convince you to go skating!"
Jack then didn't speak.
"See? This IS my fault. And now I've sent you into isolation for life! I did this to you. I cursed you. I am a monster." Elsa then ran off.
Everyone was speechless to her words. Even Anna didn't know what to say.
Jack didn't bother chasing Elsa. He just left everyone else and stayed in his tree.
"Jack deary. What's wrong?" Mother Nature came out of nowhere and spoke.
"Jezz." Jack jumped. "You can't keep doing that EJ." Emily Jane.
"Elsa is beating herself up. Calling herself a monster because it's...she says it's her fault I'm...dead." Jack said. He still couldn't understand why this was happening.
"How old is she?" EJ asks.
"Same as me. 18. Almost 18. Hiccup is my age, Astrid is a year older. Anna and Rapunzel are 16. Moana is 17. Merida 15. Flynn and Kristoff are almost 17. Next month one of them will. And I'm never ageing again." Jack said.
EJ laughed. "And they all see you? Jack. If some adults see you, like your friends, it means they could be future guardians like you." She explained.
Jack was surprised. "Really?"
"It may take a special moment like with you. Well, yours was an event. But still, if they show the brought side of the future of children of the world, they could be guardians of something. Like you are with fun." She told him.
"Then..."
"If Elsa is beating herself up over this, she could lose you."
And with that, Jack went off to find her. He wasn't losing the one real thing in his life that made everything worst living.
"Elsa!" He called out.
Elsa was on her bed just ignoring the world outside her one happy place. Her ice palace.
Sadly, Jack knows her too well.
"Go away Jack."
"Elsa. Please look up. Please. If your doing this to yourself, your going to lose me. You won't be able to see me at all. And I can't lose you. If I do, then I might as well be dead dead." He told her.
Elsa sat up on her bed and started at him. "I still see you."
"Elsa. Please. I don't care if anyone else calls you...whatever. I still like you. Your my best friend here. And I'm not losing the one last thing that makes me feel like I'm alive again. I need you." He said wiping the tears from Elsa's cheeks.
"Jack. I can't do this. I can't have you watch me die. I shouldn't see you at all."
"And if you keep blaming yourself that actually will happen. But it's a good thing all of you see me. Because it means, somehow, that all of you can be like me. Without dying." Jack added. "You all can be guardians like me. Be immortal with me. No tears at funerals." He said.
Elsa was shocked. "Are you kidding me? I could be a guardian? How?"
"Right moment to prove yourself. Or event for my case." Jack said.
"My immortal BFF."
"Best friend for life. That's BFFL-"
Elsa quickly shut him up with a light kiss. "Boy Friend Fever." Elsa blushed.
Jack was red all over too. "Oh. Okay. I can work with that. Somehow." He said.
Elsa giggled. "I love you." She said. "I was planning on telling you...that day. Your sister told me that if I didn't do it, she would."
"And you believed her? She threatened me many times and it's never happened." Jack chuckled. "But I love you too."
