Freedom
Cheering.
Cheering was the only thing the octoling heard as she looked around at the crowd of squids and octos around her.
Her clown makeup was messed up a little from the crash that she was in with the cop car. She smiles, people screaming as she turns her body around so they can see her new look: a red suit jacket with matching pants, and a yellow vest with a green dress shirt underneath it.
This is giving me the best feeling ever.
She starts to move her arms and legs slowly, humming to herself. Her green hair flashes with the red and blue of the cop car.
The octoling spins around, the crowd clapping. She begins to laugh for real, not hiding it one bit.
As she stopped spinning, people were referring to her as 'Joker'. The cheers continued, getting louder.
I know I killed Nathan, but this is so worth it being noticed.
She sighs, getting off of the hood of the cop car.
The crowd looks at her, confused.
"What are you going to do now? Should we wreck this city?" Someone shouted.
Do they think I'm their leader?
She clears her throat. "I say that we ruin this city just like how it ruined me!"
Cheers erupt from the crowd. The people scatter off, doing whatever they could to destroy Inkopolis.
"Guess that's my new name." She smirks, taking out a cigarette from one of her pockets. She lights it, laughing to herself.
She walks around the city, seeing cars being burned down and glass all over the sidewalks. Her shoes made a bang with every step she took. She felt powerful.
She starts to spin yet again, smiling.
I'm no longer Mindy.
The octoling continues on walking around, seeing people she doesn't even know being shot up to death. She laughs, walking away.
She takes in the cigarette, puffing out smoke from her lips. "This is just life, isn't it?" she asks herself.
She then sees the stairs she danced down on from earlier. She rushes over to them, pacing up the stairs. As she gets to the last step from the top, she stops when she sees a bench.
"I'll stop and take a break from running around."
Sitting down on the bench, she relaxes herself, stretching her arms and legs.
"Gosh, chaos is just crazy going on down in the Square, isn't it?" She laughs to herself. Taking in the cigarette yet again, she looks up at the sky. It's nighttime.
I should go to sleep.
The octoling nods, getting up from the bench.
She walks into her apartment, tired but still smiling.
"Nobody is going to find me," she tells herself. "They may have proof, but they won't find you." She giggles to herself, walking into her kitchen. She looks inside of the fridge.
I'll be fine, she thought.
Closing the fridge, she walks into the small hallway into the bathroom. She cleans off her makeup and the blood that made the smile she had on her face. She looks into the mirror.
"I'm back to my old self, am I?" Mindy asks herself. "Then, why am I smiling?"
She places her hands on the outer part of the sink. "Why am I not feeling bad about this crime that I had done? I should, right?"
Mindy walks out of the bathroom, looking over at the couch. "I should be turning myself in, right? I don't think I have done anything wrong but, I have." She giggles to herself.
You are starting to lose your sanity about you worrying. Don't worry about it, you are fine.
"What happens if I'm not?" Mindy snaps. "What happens if I'm not fine?!"
She grips her head, breathing through her teeth. "You are in a world where you can go to jail, you bitch. You didn't even think of that while you commited that stunt, did you? They know your face, look, everything about you."
She starts to pace around the living room. She starts muttering to herself, losing her grip on reality at this very moment.
"You are an idiot, did you know that?" Mindy mocks.
You still have the gun, right?
"No, I don't have the gun!" Mindy shouts. "I left it at the show!" She stops in her tracks, taking off her suit jacket. She then takes off the vest. Placing both of the clothes on her couch, she starts to unbutton her dress shirt.
After taking off the shirt and the red pants, she walks into the bathroom yet again, most likely to take a shower to rinse her hair out.
