We are interrupting our daily scheduled program to do a quick one shot because I can't for the love of God finish Hibernation Brumation. Jamming to Michelle Branch's Game of Love on repeat and listening to Santana. Because that's how this household rolls. I'm exhausted from work and having a few drinks while writing this.

Alicia most of the big men are teddy bears lol

most of these shots I'm not too worried about keeping Laxus in character, other than him being a kuudere, sometimes written as kūdere or just kudere, refers to a character who is often cold, blunt, and cynical. They may seem very emotionless on the outside, but on the inside they're very caring — at least when it comes to the ones they love. But I don't want him to be like so badly out of character that he's unrecognizable. And I feel like since they are just one shots they aren't supposed to be these dramatic things, they are fluff and I've been writing these for people who want to see a softer side of him but only with Lucy. *Shrugs*

and GoddessxNyte2 thanks for the follows!

Update I'm now working on this from work now so hi! How's your Saturday?

Context: This is in my opinion a very OC Laxus but the idea hinged on him being unsure of himself. It's called Laxus Vs. The Wedding Vows. BUT! It was fun to write LOL. In some weird universe Laxus is struggling coming to grips with getting married to Lucy. He wants to get married but he's afraid he's going to screw this all up. He's never had a man in his life show him how to be a good husband. He's good at fighting demons and rogue mages but is he good enough to be a husband?

This is suppose to be nice and fluffy and no real plot but just Laxus as a man who's trying for Lucy. I'm sorry if y'all don't like it.

I stole the Corpse Bride vows.

I made up a character, Lucy's Grandfather he's a old man who wants to see Lucy taken care of..

Action!

Laxus sighed heavily. He leaned against the grand piano in the front room. God he was man enough to admit he was nervous, rehearsals were today and he wasn't sure if he could do this. He taken down dark guilds and monsters, but this was his greatest challenge yet and he had to do this all while gaining Jude and Ran Borune XXIII, her grandfather who he was meeting for the first time today. He was tempted to go fight whatever monster or Vulcan he could find at that moment to take it all out on that poor creature.

Lucy was upstairs, she was fixing her hair. She was gasping for air. The servants had tightened up her corset way too tight. She sighed the best she could looking dreamily into the mirror. Laxus was being generous about this and she hoped her family understood that. She got up and descended from her room and down the stairs. She approached Laxus from behind.

"Laxus," she said excitedly. Laxus turned around and mentally did a double check.

"Are you able to breathe in that?" She was wearing a off the shoulder dress. It had a bubble like sleeves at her biceps of light colored blue sheer material. She had a blue corset that accentuated her waist. Her sleeves and corset had these frilly things all over it. It had a big poofy thing that extended out the back of her dress, she had on several skirts. Her hair was in a bun and she had a beaded blue choker on. He was eyeing how her boobs were nearly about to pop out of their assigned seating. Lucy blushed. "Not really. You ready for today?"

Laxus nodded, she smiled. "I appreciate you doing this, with my grandfather dying-" her voice wavered.

Laxus chuckled, "your grandfather's dying wish is to see us get married. We've been together 3 years. I can't imagine being with anyone else. The fact you want to marry a grumpy old man like myself is the more impressive thing." He said pulling her close. Lucy sighed as he tilted her face towards him. The kiss was short and chaste. Laxus's hands trailed down her back, he tried squeezing her butt. But he was stopped by something padded and what felt like wires...

"What the-" he asked confused.

"A bustle." She whispered kissing him again.

"What the fuck is a bustle-" he asked his lips barely touching hers.

"A bustle is a padded undergarment used to add fullness, or support the drapery, at the back of women's dresses. Their worn under the skirt in the back, just below the waist, to keep the skirt from dragging. " She said smiling cupping his face. Laxus nodded.

"Well it certainly makes your butt look big-" he said raising an eyebrow.

Lucy giggled as she wrapped her arms around Laxus. Laxus eyed how her boobs were smashed against his chest...any minute now they'll pop out he was sure of it...

"You know," Lucy's voice distracted him, "I've dreamt of my wedding day since I was a little girl. I always hoped to find someone I was deeply in love with. Someone to spend the rest of my life with."

"Is that so?"

"Mmhmmm," she hummed. "And I'm stunned I actually found it."

Laxus smirked, "you're lucky you're not marrying some old fat guy."

Lucy giggled again. They were looking deep into each other's eyes. Laxus was going to say something but the sound of footsteps distracted him.

"What? Impropriety is this!" A housekeeper named Prudence exclaimed. She was tall, slender, fair skinned. She had a narrow face, pointed chin, and pink lips. Her brown hair was in a bun, and had blue eyes. He felt Lucy back away from him, he missed the warmth her body provided. He growled, he was not impressed by all the social rules and propriety bull shit she was raised with.

"You shouldn't be alone together!" Lucy looked down at the ground embarrassed.

"Here it is, one minute before 5, and you're not at rehearsal."

Lucy looked to Laxus, he looked away from her.

"Pastor Bailey is waiting!" Prudence said walking away. "Come at once!"

3 hours later...

"Master Dreyar, from the beginning..."

Laxus cursed himself mentally. Why could he not get this right? He was Laxus Dreyar for crying out loud! He should be able to recite vows...

"Laxus and Lucy, today you are surrounded by your family and friends, all of whom are gathered to witness your exchange of vows and to share in the joy of this occasion. Let this be a statement of what you mean to each other and the commitment of marriage you will make."

The rest of that speech went like a blur for Laxus...

"...the couple clearly states that they are marrying on their own free will."

Laxus took a deep breath...

"Laxus and Lucy, you know now before you go further that since your lives have crossed in this life, you have formed eternal bonds. As you seek to enter this state of matrimony you should strive to make real ideals that give meaning to this ceremony and to the sanctity of marriage. With full awareness, know that within this circle you are declaring your intent before your friends and family as witnesses.

The promises made today and the ties that are bound here greatly strengthen your union and will cross the years and lives of each soul's growth. Do you seek to enter this ceremony?

"Yes." They said at the same time.

"Laxus and Lucy, please look into each other's eyes." Laxus took Lucy's hand. Lucy smiled up at him encouragingly. She gave him her right and he gave her his left.

"With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty for I will be your wine. With this candle I will light your way through the darkness, with this ring I ask you to be mine."

The pastor look to Laxus. "Let's try it again at the candle part."

Laxus put the candle to the flame. He glared as he watched the flame not light it. 'Don't you dare.' He thought as he saw it finally light. He turned to look at Lucy and from the corner of his eye, he saw Lucy's father and grandfather boring into him. His grandfather and Bandita were the only encouraging faces in the audience. Hurray! My in-laws already hate me...He took another deep breath. It's not like he really cared about their approval but damn can he not have them look like he was satan. Well to be fair her grandfather was looking at him like he wasn't sure of the whole thing.

"With this candle," he said to Lucy as his candle went out. Laxus's eyes widen. Lucy smiled and relit it. Laxus looked at her as the doorbell rang.

"Get the door Jeffers." Lucy's grandfather bellowed.

They all turned to look at Jeffers as he scurried back in, "a Duke of Sawarr is here."

Lucy gasped, Laxus vaguely reconginized the name as the same guy Lucy wa suppose to marry. Why was he here!? Laxus saw he was a slender man with a large chin, white slick hair, and wore a black cutaway with white collar pushed upside and a bow tie, also gray pants and black shoes.

"I haven't a head for dates." He said haughtily eyeing Laxus and then Lucy. His eyes lingered on Lucy's boobs. Lucy noticed and shrunk back ashamed. Laxus growled. Everyone in the room looked at him. Lucy looked embarrassed, how could this get any worse?

"I'm a day early for the ceremony."

"Jeffers a seat for the Duke Sawarr please." Jude asked.

'Great...he's staying...' Laxus thought.

"Do carry on," he motioned haughtily. Laxus wanted to punch the ever living shit out of him.

"With this hand," he said looking at how tiny Lucy's hand was in his. "I will cup-" he said looking at Lucy's boobs again.

'Shit!'

Ran Bourne and Jude's eyes widen.

"It's lift! Why can't you get this right? Do you not wish to be married?"

"No!" Laxus exclaimed putting down the candle and accidentally hit the table. This was a disaster. A disaster of his own doing.

"Young man! It's three steps towards the table!" The pastor growled. Lucy looked at Laxus unsure of what to do. Lucy took a deep breath.

"No?" Lucy asked fear and pain flashed through her eyes.

"It's not that Lucy! It's just-"

"Yes babe?" She asked putting down her candle and holding Laxus's hand. She was looking concerned. Lucy wondered if maybe this was too much. Maybe Laxus wasn't ready for this next step? She gave it a squeeze trying to also calm her own nerves.

"Pay attention!" The pastor screamed. Lucy looked annoyed, she gave the pastor a withering look. The pastor glared right back.

"Did you even remember the ring?"

"Yes, I did."

Lucy smiled back at Laxus. She was really not upset by all of this. She was slightly put out Vincent was there but she was happy to be standing there with Laxus. She looked at Laxus as he took out the ring. He stared at it for a moment. Lucy stared at him, she slowly watched him shut down.

"I'm sorry. I need a moment." He said putting down the ring, walking away. Lucy's mouth hung open.

"Well he seems quite the catch." The Duke exclaimed.

"He's more of a catch than you ever will be." Lucy seethed.

The look in Lucy's eyes would have put the most acidic things to shame. The Duke recoiled at the look as she marched out the doors to find Laxus.

"You seem cheery. Does your attitude come in anything but pompous asshole?" Bandita said to the Duke. Jude and Ran Bourne looked shocked at the little cat. Makarov nodded in silent agreement. "Let's go find my grandson, I think I know what's happening here." Bandita nodded and flew off the chair flying low next to Makarov. Lucy's father and grandfather looked shocked at seeing them walk/fly away from the rehearsal.

Lucy was looking everywhere for Laxus. She was having trouble breathing in the dress she was wearing. She was gasping as she heard the sound of her heels click against the marble floors. She finally found Laxus in the drawing room he was pacing on the balcony. Lightning was coming down and striking the metal statues around him. Lucy's heart hurt seeing it. This wasn't supposed to be THIS stressful.

"Laxus-" she called timidly. Laxus looked up at her. The lightning stopped for a moment. "Lucy-"

Lucy didn't wait for a response, she kicked off her shoes and ran to him. Her skirts swishing about her. She gave him a hug, Laxus was stunned for a moment but reciprocated the hug. "I'm sorry," he mumbled.

"I don't know why you're sorry! I'm the one who is sorry. I should have just told my grandfather to deal with it basically."

Laxus shook his head, "no. I do want to marry you but Lucy I just feel pressured into being this good husband. Your grandfather wants you to be married to someone who can take care of you and make you happy, and I don't know the first thing about being a husband. Or what that even looks like."

Lucy was shocked slightly. "Laxus it's not like I know the first thing about being a good wife..well that's a lie but my mother died when I was young and I've never really seen any other marriages to look off of. Plus I was taught being a good wife was that I was to be seen and not heard and produce a male heir. I don't know what I'm doing either." She said seriously.

"In fact," she laughed, "I'm more nervous about the fact that I'm 20 years old and getting married. That was never something I wanted to do. But here I am...I keep wondering if you're going to like the woman I become 10 years from now."

Laxus rolled his eyes, "that's the whole growing together bit I think they talk about in the vows and shit Lucy."

Lucy laughed hugging Laxus tighter. "Yeah but what if we don't "

Laxus blinked, that thought hadn't crossed his mind really. "I don't think we need to worry about that to be honest." He said kissing her forehead. Lucy sighed relaxing into him.

Makarov and Bandita looked at the couple in front of him nodding. Makarov had suspected that this may have had something to do with the fact that his grandson was nervous not that he didn't want to get married.

"Hey love birds!" Bandita called.

Lucy and Laxus turned around they smiled at them. Lucy motioned for them to come closer. Laxus's arms were wrapped around Lucy's waist.

"Wanna explain what happened?" Bandita asked hanging off of Lucy's shoulder. Lucy laughed, "I think Laxus and I are having a heart to heart conversation." Bandita nodded.

"So are we having a wedding?" Makarov asked. Laxus looked his grandfather in the eyes. "There was no doubt about us having the wedding it was just me getting in my own head again."

Makarov nodded, "not like you haven't done that before " Laxus glared at his grandfather.

"Laxus. You sure you want to do this?"

Laxus nodded. "As long as you know I have no idea what I'm doing I think we'll be good." He grabbed Lucy's hands, "with this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine." A brilliant flash of purple lightning pierced the sky. "My lightning will always light your way through the darkness. With this ring I ask you to be mine.."

Makarov and Bandita smiled at them.

"The ring is back in the room you left it in " She said cheekily.

Laxus glared at Lucy, "smart ass."

Lucy smiled. "With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty for I will be your wine. I'll forever be your North Star shining in the sky, showing you your way home.." she whispered kissing him. Laxus smirked her lips crashed against his.

"Alright you two, save it for the honeymoon." Makarov cried. Lucy and Laxus broke apart. "Shall we go and try this again?" Lucy whispered. Laxus nodded. They walked hand in hand with Bandita and Makarov out the drawing room.

"Do you think they are all still waiting?" Bandita asked...
