"Todoroki! Hey, man, how have you been? I haven't seen you since last week!"

Todoroki blinked in surprise at the loud greeting as he entered the coffee shop where he worked. He glanced behind the counter to see one of his coworkers, Eijiro Kirishima, waving at him with a huge grin on his face. It was still extremely early in the morning, so Todoroki wasn't sure how the redhead managed to be so cheerful. The shop hadn't even opened for the day yet.

"Good morning, Kirishima." He mumbled a polite response before heading for the back room to change into his work uniform. He put away his clothes in his locker and turned off his phone before placing it on top, ignoring all the messages from his father. When all his personal belongings were put away, he returned to the main area and joined Kirishima behind the counter.

"Kaminari's going to be late today." He said. Todoroki nodded; that wasn't exactly a surprise. Kaminari was always coming in late with the most bizarre excuses ever. Once, he'd claimed that he'd been attacked by a wild bear on the way to the bus when in actuality everybody knew he'd just overslept.

"Are we opening up yet?" He asked. Kirishima nodded, already getting the equipment ready for the day. Todoroki walked over to the front door and flipped the sign from closed to open before returning to his place behind the counter with Kirishima to await the influx of early morning customers on their way to go about their daily, busy lives.

A few minutes later, customers began to arrive and place their orders. Early mornings like that one were always the small coffee shop's busiest time of the day. By eight, Todoroki was already getting tired, but he couldn't allow himself to slack off now because he knew that it was almost time for him to arrive.

The 'him' in question was a regular customer who'd been coming to the shop for several months now, always at the exact same time and he would always order the exact same thing. Todoroki wasn't quite sure what it was about him that made him so interesting. Maybe it was his weird sense of fashion or the way his green hair was always so naturally messy and curly. Or maybe it was the dozens of cute freckles that dotted his face. Whatever it was, Todoroki couldn't deny that he was drawn to him.

He was pulled out of his thoughts by the sound of the bell above the door jingling, signaling the arrival of a new customer. And when he looked up, there he was. Messy, green hair, sparkling emerald eyes, jeans and red sneakers paired with a white shirt with the word Shirt written across it in bold letters. His cheeks and the tips of his ears were tinted pink. Was he cold? It wasn't that cold outside. Maybe he'd been running.

Todoroki was so caught up thinking about the green-haired boy that he failed to notice him approach him at the counter. "Excuse me?"

He blinked, internally cursing himself. "Can I help you?"

"Yeah, I'll just have my regular, please!" He smiled, and Todoroki swore his heart actually stopped. How could one person possibly shine so brightly?

"Sure," He muttered, turning away to make his drink. He was just turning on the machine when the bell above the door rang again, and a guy with spiky blond hair and a scowl on his face entered. Todoroki didn't recognize him, but the guy seemed to know the green haired boy standing at the counter because he immediately approached him.

"Oi, Deku, I need you to look over the project work so far. I'm not failing this assignment because of your sorry ass."

"Oh, sure, Kacchan!" The green boy faced Todoroki with a sweet smile. "I'll only be a second, okay? Don't forget about my order!" And with that said, he rushed out the door with the blond trailing behind him. Todoroki sighed, filling a cup and putting the lid on it.

"So, that was the guy, right?" Kirishima was suddenly there, casually propping his elbow on Todoroki's shoulder with a knowing grin. "The guy you've been crushing on for months, yeah?"

"That's ridiculous." Todoroki lied, shaking his elbow off and backing away to hide his blush. "Why would I have a crush on someone I don't even know."

"Whatever you say, man." He shook his head. "Oh...hey, I think we're out of creamer up here, could you go grab some from the back?"

"Sure," Todoroki turned to head to the back room and grabbed a new bottle of creamer before returning to the counter. Kirishima had already returned to his station, helping a customer with short, pink hair. Todoroki had just made it back when the bell rang once again the green haired boy came back inside.

"Here," Todoroki handed him the steaming cup. The boy smiled and handed him the money.

"Thank you!" He called back over his shoulder before heading to his usual seat. Todoroki let out a breath and leaned against the counter, fighting the urge to fall asleep right where he stood. However, only a few minutes had passed before he heard the same voice again, this time sounding slightly nervous and panicked.

Todoroki glanced over to see the green haired boy was standing there again, but now he was a blushing mess. His face was the color of a fire hydrant, his shoulders hunched over his ears in a cute way, and he wouldn't look away from the floor. "Um...I-I was wondering...did you write this?"

"Write...what?" Todoroki frowned. The green haired boy pointed at the cup he'd given him just a few minutes ago with a shaky finger. Confused, Todoroki picked up the cup and turned it around until he saw what the boy was talking about. Immediately, his stomach dropped, and he only had one thought going through his mind;I am going to kill Kirishima.

Written on the cup in bold lettering were the words, Are you sure you're not tired? Because you've been running through my mind for hours.

"Um..." The boy stuttered out. Todoroki wanted to deny it, tell him it was just a dumb prank his coworker had pulled, but he couldn't form the words. "Um...b-because I was just going to say...I-I feel the same way! A-And I was wondering if maybe you'd want to go out to eat together sometime!" The last part of his sentence came out like a squeak. Todoroki blinked, sure he'd misheard him.

"I'd love to go on a date with you!" There was no mishearing that, but it still seemed unreal to Todoroki. "S-So...?"

"Um..." Todoroki licked his lips, trying to sort through his thoughts. Was he being asked on a date with the guy he'd been secretly crushing on for months? "I-"

"He'd love to!" Kirishima was suddenly there, leaning against the counter with a friendly grin. "Oh, and while you're at it, could I get the phone number of that friend of yours who came in here earlier?"

"Oh, sure!" The green haired boy squeaked. "S-So, does tomorrow afternoon work? We could...get lunch or something?"

"That sounds great." Todoroki's mouth was dry. He had to be dreaming.

The green haired boy broke out in a huge, blinding smile. "Awesome! Oh, and by the way, my name's Izuku Midoriya."

"I'm...Shoto Todoroki."

"I'm glad we're going out, then, Todoroki." He tilted his head to the side in an adorable way. "Well...see you!"

He turned and left the coffee shop with a flourish to his step. Todoroki stared after him for several seconds before finally facing Kirishima again. He was smirking.

"Well?" He asked in a singsong voice. "That looked like it went well, eh?"

"I can't believe you wrote that on his cup."

Kirishima laughed and gave him a playful wink. "You're welcome, by the way."
