A/N: Hello to all! I have been frequently checking out the status of this story and I've discovered that it has seriously spiked since the last time I viewed it. Last time I checked, the story was at like 8,000 some views and now it is at over 9,000! (Reference intended)

I would like to deliver a rather important message concerning my Custom Monsterverse on this site, as you probably have already read from this GVK story, it has several characters and things that don't seem to match up with how the Custom Monsterverse is currently going.

I wrote this story when I was a Freshman in high school, I am currently a Junior, so I've been doing some growing up and maturing, I've also been doing some learning. It explains why monsters could speak through translation in this GVK story and me personally, I find it to be kind of ridiculous considering the fact that I want this Custom Monsterverse to take a rather serious approach to it as if it really is in the same universe as the Legendary Version.

I have been doing a re-write of this same story on Archive of Our Own, a website similar to this. (You can call it AO3) I am re-writing Godzilla Vs Kong on there to match up with how my Custom Monsterverse is currently going on here, I take it a bit more seriously now that I have been doing some growing up and I don't really have the mindset of a smaller child.

I also have a huge feeling that this story is going to have a significant spike in viewing and favorites once the actual movie of Godzilla VS Kong comes out later this year (if the virus doesn't delay it to 2021 that is) As marketing starts up and the trailers come out, then this story will gain more and more views. This is a message to all of the future readers and the ones that may have already viewed this one, to check out the other version I am currently working on; on Archive of Our Own.

I've also decided to make the other version of GVK on Archive of Our Own to be a standalone thing, I was originally going to re-write the whole Monsterverse on the website but I believe it would be way too much work.

Sorry for the long author's note, I will make another epilogue just for this story. It's been a long time coming since it hit this site!

(2021)

It was January the first of the brand new year of 2021, needless to say. The previous two years were quite full of surprises. A three headed dragon and then a mountain sized menace threatening the world, boy was it a load to handle.

Most of the Skull Squadron that had gone to Skull Island retired after their mission, others died off while performing the perilous task. Ford Brody sat alone in his office within the confines of Outpost 54, a rather defeated look on his face. He was once sharing war stories with those men and women within that squadron and were the top dogs of the Monarch military branch before the term "G-Team" was coined.

It truly was a shame, he scrolled through the computer monitor that sat on the desk before him. Seeing through all of the training videos of the recruits he had trained during the whole situation of 2020, he could see the fire in their eyes. Sure, Ford was a hardass to them, but this was very important stuff as the years progressed.

The two most determined people of this batch of recruits were Laura Belinsky, a beautiful Russian born blonde martial artist from Moscow, and Brayden Snow, his ferocity and intelligence would be extremely useful. Ford decided to call them up to his office for an important meeting regarding the other recruits that they all had arrived with.

As they made their way down the hall, Ford began to think about what may lie ahead for Monarch and the G-Team. The eco-terrorist organization that was headed by Alan Jonah had gone silent in 2020 and so far in 2021, not a word had been spoken of them. Ford Brody was thankful, dealing with eco-terrorists and a mountain sized Cthulhu would without a doubt be the death of Monarch as they knew it.

"Even the mighty Alan Jonah is afraid of Cthulhu, shame." Ford snickered to himself, but he knew to take the old bastard seriously. Alan Jonah damn near ended the world twice, releasing Jinshin-Mushi in 2014 and the dreaded Ghidorah in 2019.

Ford then thought about Dr. Ishiro Serizawa, who had sacrificed his life in 2020 to save the world from Cthulhu. The poor jap had lost everything he loved, but even Ford believed that his ending could have been happier. Ren Serizawa had stepped up to the plate, wanting to take his father's place, it was a bold move of the nineteen year old but a move that Ford deeply respected.

Ren had actually gone through training within the later parts of 2020, in December to be exact. Making him a member of Monarch the year his father had given his life for the Earth, the only bad part is, Ren didn't know the fate of his father as they grew to be distant from each other.

Serizawa had a falling out with his wife in 2015, eventually leading to a divorce that Summer. His wife took custody of Ren and the young Serizawa boy had been living with her ever since. The two would still connect to each other via emails but the love wasn't as strong as Ren had hoped.

Dr. Serizawa would blabber about Godzilla and the titans for hours on end, almost never mentioning his wife or speaking to Ren about family matters. Ren wanted to understand the titans, he wanted to finally understand the reason why his father cared for Godzilla so much and these titans that even time itself seemed to have forgotten about.

Unfortunately for Monarch, they would never foresee what would come of never telling Ren the truth about his late father. Seven years from 2020 and six years from now, Ren would betray the organization and lead it to a total war between another faction. All because Monarch would never tell him the truth, Ford never thought he would find out.

Such thoughts weren't in the mind of the general of the G-Team, he had optimism for the future of Monarch despite the world having disdain for them all. Ford continued to sit in silence until a knock came at his door, he answered it to see Laura and Brayden Snow dressed formally for his meeting, getting their leader to give them a proud smile.

"Come on in you two, I've got some important matters to discuss." Ford explained, ushering the two to settle down on the chairs in front of his desk.

"Important matters, eh?" Laura asked, her voice sounding as if she was intrigued by this. Brayden raised an eyebrow at what she said, getting him to become involved with what Ford was leading on to.

"Yes, last year the two of you were nothing but scum…" Ford said with a serious manner but then he chuckled, he was just joking around with them two.

"Last year the two of you were recruits in a batch of people wanting to get their hands on the whole G-Team and Monarch experience, unfortunately, we've lost our Skull Squadron. Best buds I've had since even I was a recruit like you two were. While I trained my side and Barnes trained his side, I couldn't help but admire the will and determination in your eyes." Ford complimented them, getting a sweet smile from Laura and a look of pure pride from Brayden.

"You two were the most notable ones, Laura, you were trained and taught under the tutelage of Jackson Barnes. I taught Brayden, as you two have probably already known. I see important value in the two of you." Ford explained, then directing his eyes towards Laura.

"Ms. Belinsky, the way you moved swiftly and quickly. How fast you accomplished the target practice, and how skilled you are in jiu-jitsu and kickboxing, you make quite the skilled combatant, if not, better than Alexis Garcia herself, God rest her soul." Ford said with a sarcastic clapping of his hands, but the reality was, he really saw potential in the Russian beauty. This caused her to chuckle and smile sweetly.

"I thank you General Brody, it is much appreciated." She answered, Ford nodded his head in response before looking at Brayden.

"Mr. Snow, your knowledge and skill in terms of combat and even in the titans has got me very intrigued. You seem to be more knowledgeable about these titans than you're really letting on, I've noticed that in some others too." Ford said to him, Laura looked over at Brayden as if she wanted to know more about him, if he knew more about these titans, he would be very important.

"Indeed I do, those are some childhood friends that I was speaking to. I actually have a younger brother who has shared interest, so I'd be expecting to see him in the distant future. The bond between my friends grew stronger during the 2014 attacks, we did loads of research and came up with so many theories. I figured we would be important people to you, perhaps we could be of some assistance. Call us the Kaiju Club." Brayden answered with a smug grin on his face, Laura chuckled at the nickname of Brayden and his friends.

"That is good news to hear, Mr. Snow. Now here is some news for both of you, since the Skull Squadron is done for. I've been thinking of starting up a new one, a better one. You and Laura will be the two leaders of it, how does that sound?" Ford asked with a smile, this caused Brayden and Laura to look at each other with loads of excitement before embracing each other happily.

"I'll be more than happy to take up that role, sir." Brayden said, Laura went on to say the same thing.

"I figured you two would, but you aren't going to be alone. For you will be joined by the whole batch of recruits, and even that jokester of a soldier, Kenny Anderson will be among you. If I see your leadership qualities grow, you shall become colonels of our troops. You've impressed us already here at Monarch, we have no doubts that you'll impress us again…"
