Most of us know the story of the "Three Little Pigs" and"Little Red Riding Hood." They both had two things in common. One, both had little characters and, two, both had a big bad wolf. Who knew that the big bad wolf in both stories was actually the same person? The story had been told in many ways, all written all wrong. Yes, the wolf requested something from the pigs, but it wasn't sugar. It was something just as sweet. It was protecting his Little Red Riding Hood. His best friend.

The request failed, however. Not because the pigs had been stubborn and died, but because Little Red couldn't take the fact that her wolf was about to risk his own life to protect her. She didn't run into the woods to find her grandmother or to get away from the beast. She ran to save the wolf from the hunters. I ran to save Ozario Cullen like he did for me.

The day of the execution was at its darkest, stormiest hours. The thick clouds colored the blackened sky. The moon tinted red. The terrors were about to release their merciless slaughter. Soon, the moon returned to its silver color. The moonlight burst through the trees, which illuminated a pathway. It led me directly where I needed to go. I had an hour to get to him and seconds raced me toward the finish line. Trying to stay on the right path was excruciatingly hard, but I kept going as straight as I could.

My Onyx. That devious jerk! Yet, he led me away from surviving and helped me experience living for the first time! My course, our course, was bitter like hellfire. Our memories were ever sweet like pure sugar. Ozario was my paradise soothing me exuberantly. I knew, running through the harsh dark woods, I would have given everything up for him – To him. He was my devoted best friend. He was the reason to own courage rather than simply have it. We made a vow I intended to keep because we were bound together. I won't let none of that change. He became my heart, my world, and he was my family. I have to go to him!

This situation was all my fault. If I hadn't moved back to Forks, he wouldn't have had to protect me so much. His family wouldn't be in danger at this very moment. As his new family member, it was wrong of me to do this to him – to everybody. How could I say I really loved him? M...my silver knight. He was my silver knight that continued to save me from nightmares and murderers. It was my turn to protect him with my life. It was my turn to save him from his living nightmare!

I kept going even though I kept getting my feet stuck in the mud. I just knew I had to get to him fast before whatever happened was done. By the time I gasped for air, falling onto the ground, I had reached The Cullen House. I tried to figure out what to do before getting to him. I looked around, spotting the motorcycle Oni had been teaching me to drive. It still had my black and red plaid vest on it. I stood up, feeling determined. I knew what I wanted to do, though it was reckless. I ran to put on my vest and started the motor.

"Yes!" I threw my fist in the air, then quickly set my hand back on the handle and revved the motor.

I rode off to the back of the house in hopes that I still had a chance to sneak inside. Instead, I spotted Ozario and some men in black and red cloaks huddled around him. They forced him onto the ground and snatched his head up until he looked at someone in front of him. I accelerated, driving the bike closer and as fast as possible. Faster, faster, faster! As a man grabbed Ozario's head I stopped the bike between the trees close to the house. A crowd of eyes turned to see me.

"Hey," I shouted, "Let him go!"

I revved the bike again. I drove the bike into some long blackhaired man who had Ozario's head locked in his hands. He released Onyx, flying backwards. I lost control of the bike and flew off myself. I landed hard on the ground because I didn't brace the fall on time. My eyes reached Ozario's as he fought to be released from the guys holding him hostage.

"No! Get off me!" Ozario fussed.

I gasped while getting up. I began running toward him. He tried as well, but I was thrown back by a blonde red-eyed chick. I stood up with difficulty because my side hurt from her hit. I looked at the girl in fear, puffing. I growled and turned to run around her so I could stop these people from doing what they planned. Abruptly, an agonizing sensation spread throughout my body that I had never felt before. It was like fire burning me up from my feet up to my head. It was tugging me down to the ground. That feeling was almost the same as the pain in my nightmare I had before. I couldn't scream, it felt so horrible and caused me to have a horrifying migraine.

A man walked up to me, not too close and not too far. All I could see was his feet since I couldn't stand up. "Ah! You must be the human girl."

"Who wants to know?" I grunted angrily.

A man with blonde hair kneeled, revealing his face to me. He said, "You are to show respect you, mere mortal."

"I show respect to those who earned it!" I shouted. I stood to my feet once the pain left my body and ran toward the blondehaired guy.

He stopped me by throwing me to a tree. Ozario flipped the men, who held him back from me. He rushed toward the blonde guy only to be thrown back, too. He hit another tree. The tree made a large cracking noise while some debris fell on him. Ozario's breathing changed like a gory film. His neck cracked. Oh, no! Onyx!

"Brother," Henry shouted!

He would have rushed to Ozario if the Fates did not show up and held him back. The blonde guy scurried to Ozario and grabbed his neck. He was about to break Onyx's head off. I remembered this happened to my father and I didn't want this to happen again. I ran his way, feeling I had seconds left to do something to help. This was just how I felt the day my father was killed. Some guy snatched my arm back, but I blacked out doing something. Whatever it was, it released me from the guy's grip. I resumed running toward Ozario and the blonde dude.

"No! Let him go and kill me! He isn't responsible for me unless I say so!" I shouted. I jumped on the blonde guy, trying to knock him off of Ozario.

"Cat, what are you doing," Ozario hollered?

I managed to shove the guy off by kicking him in the face. I punched him and he flew backward. "We are bound! If you die, we die together! You know, like that cheesy cliché things found in books, just literally this time!"

Pleased with my response, Ozario shook his head, smiling.

Onyx's alerted eyes glimpsed behind me. He punched a random guy in the face making him fly far away from us. I got snatched and dragged across the ground by the leg. I started screaming. Ozario grabbed my hand, kicking a different guy off of me. We crawled towards the tree because the people in cloaks backed us up against it.

A much younger cloaked dude with black hair walked in front of us and between all of the other people. The Cullens rushed to the rail of the porch and jumped off. The guy with black hair lifted his hands with a trail of black smoke slowly covering both Ozario and I. I felt my all of my senses slowly strip away. I could hear both our screaming become nothing but muffled sounds until everything went black.

I couldn't hear anything! formless sounds of words swayed from ear to ear. I wasn't going to give up, yet. I couldn't feel a thing, though. It almost hurt being as numb as the dead. I tried to figure out if I was standing up or not. Still, I tried to. I had to shout something, but I couldn't hear myself very well.

The only thing I felt was a vibration where my throat used to be. "Return everything back. Let us go!"

Can they hear me? What am I doing? I blinked, I think, but regained sight in my eyes. Then, I could feel and hear everything right after. I sighed in relief that I hadn't been in a vegetative state for long. Oh! So, I was standing! However, I was leaning awkwardly and fell over. I caught myself with my hands to brace the fall.

Ozario crawled toward me, touching my back. "Are you alright?" He intoned.

I nodded, touching his cheek. I panted, "Are you?"

Ozario held me close in one of his arms as both of us stared at the cloaked people again. The long black-haired guy walked up to us alongside the blonde man and a really old guy. Alice stood next to the young dark brown-haired guy, convincing him to stop. The long black-haired guy took a gander at Onyx and me. This whole thing was crazy and everyone had been much stronger than I was. I had no chance to win and I could see that. But, I still had to try, so, I frowned at him. The black-haired guy walked closer toward us as we looked in anguish at him. He looked stunned once his eyes met mine.

"This mortal is strange. She is capable of resisting against the sibling's powers. She broke out of Jane's and Alec's influence." The old man announced to his crowd, pointing a finger at me.

What was he talking about? I broke what now? I glanced around the area, watching everybody's faces that surrounded us. Ozario and I stood on our feet, still holding each other closely and vigilant. I could hear Onyx growl at all the cloaked dudes. The long blacked-haired guy faced to the older guy, then back to me. Ozario backed me up. He stood in front of me in a protective stance.

"Yes... She is Marcus and very stubborn I see." The blackhaired guy narrowed his eyes at me. Then, faced his group and said aloud, "Not only does this young lady resist, but she fights us. The girl knows she is weak, yet... She has enough strength to punch, kick, and throw our kind! How is she so strong? What a marvelous, bold young woman indeed. All for the sake of that boy."

The blonde guy, who tried to kill Ozario earlier, opened his mouth, "She also wields a smart mouth. We need to put her back in her place."

I rushed in front of Oni, who snatched my arm to stop me.

"Oh?" I started, "And, who are you to say this isn't my place? I never did anything to you... To harm or destroy anything of yours. I just met you and already you think I'm a nuisance. You're the one who attacked us first!"

"Cat! Stop!" Yelled Ozario.

I ripped my hand away from Ozario and stood confidently in front of the strangers before me. I walked up to the blonde guy.

"No, Onyx." I pointed at the blonde guy intensely. In a fierce remark, I said, "You and your buddies are just a bunch of monsters with no self-respect or any respect for anyone else. I spit on your egotistical ways. You think I'm going to just hand over my respect? Trust, loyalty, and respect is earned! Not by forcing fear into other people, because that isn't something people would be willing to give so much up for. You wanna learn how to rule? Read a book on How to Run a Form of Government for Morons because that is what you're acting like right in front of your people. You need to learn how to stop living in the past and get ahead with your future you, murderous prick."

Everyone's eyes grew wide at my fiery remark. Ozario was immediately snatched up by some of the men in cloaks. They held him back to prevent him from protecting me. The blonde chick, with the agonizing power, slammed me down into the branches scattered across the surface. A sharp pain returned to my body, making it excruciatingly difficult to breath. The prick came over me and shook his head. I could hear Ozario trying to fight. My family also tried to stop the blonde guy.

"You will fear us and know where you lie you, useless pet." Blonde-haired guy pestered.

I took a big gulp of air and managed to release words in grunts, "I fear no one, especially you. Besides, look at you all talk and no action. You even have your own little minion doing your pathetic dirty work. Exactly predictable from the meager wretch you are. I bet you can't even kill me yourself. So, if I'm useless, so are you!"

I tried pretending I didn't have any fear, like in my dreams. The lady, pinning me to the ground, made the pain even worse in my neck. She was almost breaking it. I started screaming in pain and watching everyone try to help me but couldn't. Even the wolves had a difficult time trying. There were so many cloaked people. I looked at Ozario, who had stopped trying to fight and just gazed at me. He angrily thought about something. In fact, he almost looked as though he hoped that something would happen... And, quickly. I saw a slight color of silver underneath his sleeve. I quickly showed no painful emotion on my face, just gratitude by a weak smile so he wouldn't do anything.

"Caius... Jane... Why don't you show her what we stand for?" The long black-haired guy provoked his comrades.

His hand went up, signaling to begin. This "Caius" guy nodded his head, kneels to me while I struggled to get away, and then he bit my arm. An unexplainable, unexpected burn rushed throughout my body. It tore me apart, body and soul. Or, at least that's what whatever Caius put in me felt like. I tried screaming louder than I ever thought I could once the "Jane" lady loosened her grip around my neck.

I shut my eyes. In slowed seconds, I felt my body move and do things I didn't exactly know I could. I was released from the girl's grip and the pain lessened a little. But, whatever Caius put in me was horrifyingly excruciating! I brought my bitten arm to my face and licked the wound to stop it from bleeding. I opened my eyes to see where my scar was. The pain was so bad I felt drunk, which blurred my vision. To save myself from this agony, I began sucking the blood out. I bit my own arm, trying to suck out whatever caused the pain. I remembered this from my dad.

Catalina's flashback: Fight Your Pain!

I play fought with one of my cousins a long time ago. I was a child then... My cousin bit me and I felt pain so mortifyingly horrible, I could do nothing but lay upon the cold snow and scream. My father came to my recuse.

Iseul told me, "Catalina! I can't help you! If I do, I'd go into a frenzy... You can do this yourself. You can suck out the vampire venom. Fight the pain and do it. Just try! Come on! Try..."

Catalina's View: Now...

The burning sensation of the bite, which radiated throughout my body, slowly flowed out of my wound. I started remembering things out of nowhere, like my conversations with Onyx:

"Fire meaning wolf, or werewolf as humans call them. Ice meaning- Uh..." Ozario's eyes flicked up at me.

"If ice means Cullens, just call them something else." I suggested.

Ozario nodded. "Cold ones, or..." He shrugged and decided to say, "Phantoms..."

Or, what I've said before:

"I've learned that there are a lot of creatures of the dark who drink blood other than vampires over these five years..." What the Fates explained:

"She was the very first vampire ever created..." This was said when Urdur talked about Isis.

"Vampires... Yes, Cati. Vampires." Skuld told me.

Why think of this, now? Once the pain went away, I sighed in relief that it was over. I shivered in fear. I blinked my eyes many times while my hair covered them. My right eye, sort of, panged. I looked around at my surroundings. All eyes were on me in astonishment. Caius was farther nested up against a tree. Jane had flown farther away from him, lying on my new family's back patio. The long black-haired guy walked up to me furiously. I hurriedly tried to back up, scared. He caught my arm up and checked the bite mark.

"How is this possible? You shouldn't have been capable of such actions!" He fussed in surprise, backing up. "She is clean from the venom!" he proclaimed in amazement.

I peered around, confused by what he meant. The what? Oh!

The vampire venom. They're vampires! My theory was correct! The long black-haired guy removed my hair from my face and backed away from me. I watched everyone – The Cullens and wolves – become liberated from the cloaked peoples' clutches. In my mind, I couldn't figure out if I should be happy or if I should remain afraid. Skuld jumped out with something dangling in her hand. Some cloaked guys held her back.

The long, black hair guy spoke loudly, "Your right eye has turned red like ours. Are you truly mortal?"

I held my hand to my aching right eye. "What?" I breathed. "My eye? It's doing it again?" Oh, yeah. My eyes flash red when I get upset sometimes. It hasn't done so in a while... until now. That's why my eye hurts.

I looked at the awed Ozario, who mouthed, "Oh, Dios mío... Amazing."

Skuld tried to fight through, frantically. She exclaimed,

"Wait! It's Skuld, Aro. That's your family. Iseul's daughter, Catalina! Please! I have proof that she is the descendent of Ambrosia!"

What? Aro! Are these people The Volturi? I gawped. Did I just battle my ancestor?

Caius tried to fuss, "Stand fa-" but, was cut off by Aro's hand, signaling him to stop talking.

"Skuld! Let her through!" Aro expressed with delight in his tone, "Ah! An old friend of the Queen and an old friend of mine." He announced to the crowd, "She is always, always welcome more than anyone knows. She's the reason we exist today." Aro faced Skuld and waved for her to come closer. "Come, come."

Skuld showed him my biological family's crest. Three jewels were in her hands. One was mine, the choker with my elaborate medallion; the next had been hers, a bracelet; and, the third was Aro's, another amulet. Aro turned his head to me in great surprise. He sped up to me, quickly taking my hand to see if he can find anything in my eyes. I mean, I think that's what he was doing. I could hardly figure out what his weird gazing was about, so I kept looking in his eyes, too. Aro faced his subjects with an overjoyed, but regretful smile.

"It's true. She is Catalina Arisu Yong. My royal kin." He glanced back at me. "I am so sorry. I should've looked into every detail. I hadn't known I'd make a... mistake."

I sighed in relief. "It's alright. I apologize to. I was rude to Caius," I glared at him. "... despite what happened."

It was a lot of luck that Aro was my super old grandpa, which means I could ask him to leave Ozario alone. Also... Oh, my god! He's a vampire! This reminded me. I saw something I didn't expect to see when he touched me. It was a memory of me, and my ancestor was holding my hand. The girl wasn't exactly me, though. She was dressed in ancient Egyptian wear. It was a woman he called, Isis. As Aro talked to the others and convinced his allies to leave the Cullen family alive, I just wanted to know something. Who was this lady?

"Aro, right? Who is Isis," I queried loud and clear?

Everyone silenced, tilting their heads in confusion. Obviously, they had no idea either, but I didn't ask any of them.

Aro replied, "Ambrosia Isis..."

Oh, my gosh... Isis is my ancestor?! My mouth dropped.

He continued, "The ancient queen and first of our kind. She was one of the bravest. Ambrosia had been executed by burning to the stake over 3,000 years ago. She was my first and only forbidden romance. I was her Greek slave then. Isis wanted me to help her bear a child to continue on her legacy. She knew she would pass away, but had not known when, where, or how. This makes you our new royal heiress above all vampires, descendent of Queen Ambrosia Isis. This is because you were born through the direct line of a royal and the first created vampire in history. In other words, you should be in my place."

My body went on lock down after hearing those words. I was in shock. Everyone in cloaks began kneeling down on one knee, holding their right hand over their hearts. I could have been many things. A warrior, a bumpkin, a normal teen, even a comedian, but I had to be a damn princess for these guys! I shook my head, backing up. I had never been good enough for such a title. This had to be a mistake, or had I been mistaken myself?

I shook my hands, waving them in the air. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Oh, no. That isn't possible. I'm still a human and you are a... Uh."

Marcus stood up. "She has no clue who we are, does she?" He asked in his old raspy voice.

I mean, I know. I'm just stunned! I thought.

Skuld ran next to me and clarified, "Catalina lost her memories by some group called, The Vipers. They stole it from her! We can try and do something to help her memories come back. So far, she's starting to regain a few. Would you consider giving us some time, my dear? We have tools that can help us get her memories back."

Aro smiled gently.

Carlisle, soon, returned with Blue Moon. "I have her records here. At first, we thought it was just an empty book, but it is not. The entire book is written with invisible ink to protect what's inside. Skuld and I had been doing our research. Catalina isn't just a human immortal! She is one of us who has descended of a long line involved with humans and vampires. Catalina's genes had been tampered with a bit, but it is very obvious that she is one of us. For over 3,000 years, her family fought and hid away from a coven called, The Vipers. We've encountered recently. If we stick together we could most likely get rid of them. Perhaps, Catalina could help us by sharing any knowledge she has had of them over the years. In the meantime, we'll have this book filled with not only records, but pictures taken in her childhood years. Would you mind if we helped her become ready if she desires?"

Carlisle and Skuld... Perfect timing. Where were you when Onyx and I were getting our asses whooped? I thought sarcastically with a smirk.

"I wouldn't mind. However, her father had informed me that there is a slight problem. Her mortal body does not react well with her immortal genes. So, what say to her state as a whole?" inquired Aro.

Carlisle acted a bit nervous to tell, but continued anyway, "We've learned that if Catalina can remain unharmed – no cuts or be around anything that causes her excessive bleeding – she will be able to live as a human forever. But..."

Uh, oh. Dr. Cullen's serious face showed up, which meant here comes the bad part. I was a bit worried.

Carlisle stated, "If Catalina loses a lot of blood in her body, she may become slowly ravenous. A beast that could slaughter mercilessly. A rabid vampire like the way humans perceive zombies. Cat's father called it... He wrote a strange name... Zapjire, I think?"

Caius crossed his arms. "Zap-jire? Is this a joke?"

"No," I replied, "Zapjire is pronounced like the gem, sapphire. An aristocratic blue mineral crystal. I remember now... My father explained that Zapjire is a zombie vampire who resides within because when blood still flows through the veins of a newborn they are stronger, faster, and very blood thirsty. Imagine I slowly change into that, yet because I have so much blood coursing through my veins without agony from the venom pinning me down... I'd be so blinded by my lust for blood that I'd be almost mindlessly hungry. So... I... I'm a...uh." My shoulders slumped.

"Vampire." Skuld finishes, "Yes. The rarest kind. Direct line of the 'Cursed Born' is what I call you. Direct line of the very first vampire."

I shook my head at the news. I am a vampire princess... So, an heiress version of Marci from the TV show Adventure time? What the crap! The sun randomly streaked through the clouds, touching the Cullens and The Volturi's skin. They started sparkling, except for the wolves and Henry. I looked down at my hand as it glistened too. NO!

"Nooo! I sparkle! Dang it!" I wailed as I threw my hands in the air like I was outraged. In reality, I laughed at myself. I'm shiny! I started raving crazy things like, "Look at me! Glitter! I suck blood!" I began to laugh. "Oh, my gosh! I'm a vampire that sparkles! I'm FABULOUS!" I struck a pose.

Ozario kept trying to hold in his laughter. He ran to my side to get me to stop talking. "Will you hush," he whispered in my ear?

Skuld eyed me intensely. "That isn't a joke, Catalina." She lifted my arm and spoke so seriously, "This is the skin designed to make you the most dangerous killer ever created."

I burst into a laugh. "Ha! You expect me to be intimidated by this? A sparkly vampire? Really?"

"How do you think I got you to talk to me?" Ozario asked.

"Uh. By coming up to me like a decent gentleman and asking me if I needed help getting to my next class... Duh. You didn't have your spotlight on at the time." I stare into his eyes for a long time, raised my hand and then snapped.

Onyx smirked, shaking his head, "Always... Always something smart."

Skuld snapped her finger, catching my attention. "Be serious!" She demanded, "This isn't a joke, dear."

I cleared my throat. "My apologies."

"This Zapjire situation will be a deathly issue, Aro." Caius called out, "We should kill her, now. She could already be dangerous."

"No. Arisu will behave." Aro defended me. "She's lived well not being discovered until today. And, it's our fault, now, that she's got a few bleeding wounds." Aro stood protectively before me. "Let's hear our options. Carlisle, please? Resume Iseul's information."

Carlisle reopened the blue book to a few pages and read aloud, "Catalina has three choices to make: One, either Catalina remains a human and avoid any hazardous contact that could cause her to bleed. This will ensure a normal life as a young woman. Two, she could accept her blood lust by leaking out as much blood as possible. This turns her into the zapjire beast.

However, the option makes her a dangerous being with no sound mind, just hunger. If possible, she will destroy everything that gets in her way. Three, Catalina can officially become a consummate vampire and fully harness her phenomenal abilities. This option also leads to her second most important choices in her life – accepting her royal duties or leaving her responsibilities to someone she ultimately trusts."

All eyes fell on me, awaiting my decision.

I glanced up at them. I was confused as hell. I still couldn't figure out why I sparkled. "What," I asked? They seriously expect me to answer, now? SERIOUSLY?!

Aro walked up to me. "What is your choice, my child?" He asked with a grin.
