Hello, hello! I hope everyone is doing okay with the world self-quarantining. I'm sorry for the lack of updates these past couple weeks. I had an important job interview for a big three letter law enforcement agency and took the week off to prepare. Then my classes and my work got canceled, so I am now how until further notice. BUT! This is good news for all of y'all, because I am going to make my newer updates longer, and a bit more frequent while I'm home. Also, I've recently rewatched the prequels (controversial, I know) and I might make an short story where Anakin and Obi, or Obidala, or Anakin and Padmé are quarantined and shenanigans ensue. Please leave a review letting me know what you think!

Rey and Finn finally made it out into the training field.

"Alright, Rey, I know you're working on Jedi training, but I thought that maybe you would like to train like a stormtrooper?" Finn proffered.

"Finn, stormtroopers can't aim to save their lives. Are you sure that that's the right way to train?" Rey asked, skeptically.

"Rey, we may not have the best aim, but we have pretty good endurance."

"Fair enough, tell me what to do, Master," Rey teased. Finn shook his head while he felt his face grow hot.

"Drop and give me 20, cadet!" Finn said in retaliation. Rey chuckled and hopped down to the ground to comply. After push-ups, they switched to running, then they moved on to pull-ups and tree climbing. They decided to finally take a break after Rey fell out of a branch and landed on the ground with a thud.

"Finn, did you really do all this in training?" Rey huffed as she wiped sweat off her forehead with her sleeve.

"Not in this kind of environment, but yeah. We used to have obstacle courses set off in the academy that changed themselves up while you were going through it. I got my butt handed to me on more than one occasion, thinking that a platform was going one way and then it went another," Finn said as he sat down next to her on the ground.

"Sounds more like Jedi training than stormtrooper training," Rey mused as she leaned her head against her friend's shoulder.

"It was meant to prepare us for battle, but I've found that most battle arenas are fairly stagnant. However, it made me feel like I was playing a game, which is why when I went out onto the real battlefield, I couldn't do it. I wasn't just shooting at targets or jumping between platforms. I was looking into the eyes of people as I aimed at them, and I saw the fear in their eyes, and I couldn't do it," Finn sighed, shaking his head a bit before a small smile grew on his face, "and that's when I met Poe."

"I just don't see how Poe can give you a second chance when you came from the First Order, but be so reluctant with Ben," Rey sighed.

"It's probably the fact that I didn't choose to be there, but I chose to leave before it changed who I am. I wasn't tainted, and making the choice to leave was easy. It was escaping which was hard. But, Rey, Ben chose to be there. Whether or not it was based on some misguided notions is another thing, but he did choose to be where he is now. Which is why I can give him a chance, because he is choosing to do the right thing even when it's hard," Finn replied. Rey nodded.

"Well, are you ready for round two?" Finn asked, hopping up and offering her his hand.

"There's more?" Rey whined.

"Are you going to do the right thing even though its hard?" Finn asked, giving her a loaded look.

"I hate it when you're right," she sighed, slapping her hand into his and letting him pull her up. "Let's get back at it."

Ben met General Hux in the planning room to discuss the failed efforts of the Knights of Ren.

"Ren, the failure of your knights to apprehend the scavenger scum has disappointed the Supreme Leader. Perhaps you would like me to take over the hunt so that we might actually get results," Hux preened as he flipped through the maps of the solar systems.

"General Hux, that will not be necessary. I am fully capable of-" Ben started

"If you were fully capable, then why do we not have the girl in custody right now? Hmm? Maybe I need to make myself more clear. I am taking over the hunt for the girl. You may assist if I find your abilities necessary, but I can assure you that I will not," Hux replied. "I've already got some leads on potential rebel bases here, here, and here," Hux said, gesturing at different systems on the map. "It's only a matter of time before she's in my custody."

Ben felt his stomach drop at the thought of his mother's base being discovered before they had time to mount their attack. However, the thought of Rey being tortured by someone else made him worry even more. "What will you do with her once you have her? Turn her into the Supreme Leader?" Ben asked, trying to sound uninterested.

"Maybe. Or perhaps I'll keep her as my own personal pet. Underneath the layers of sand, she's still a woman, and women are best suited for one thing," Hux smirked, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively at Ben. Ben was suddenly very glad that Hux couldn't see his face in that moment. Visions of Hux and Phasma from his previous mental search turned into Hux and Rey. His stomach felt sick.

"Well, you may leave," Hux said, dismissively waving his hand at Ben.

Ben wanted to throw something, anything, but he had to get out of there before he blew his cover. He turned with a flourish, his cape flying in his self-made wind. He made his way back towards the training grounds, his feet feeling like lead and his chest tightening. As soon as he made it to his training room and the doors closed he threw his helmet across the room, gasping for air. What was this feeling? All he could think of was Hux's hands on Rey's body before he even had the opportunity to kiss her. Images flashed through his head of Rey in bed with Hux. He ignited his lightsaber and slashed out at his target, destroying it and ten others that were set up around the room. He had pictured Hux's face on all the targets, his chest heaved as he shut his lightsaber off, dropping it on the ground. He dropped to his knees, dragging his hand down his face as he tried to compose himself. Weeks ago he wouldn't have blinked at Hux's comments, but now? Now he didn't know what to do. How was he to protect Rey when he was no longer on the team looking for her? He couldn't live like this anymore, but he had a mission to do, people to save, just like they had saved him. Ben sighed, pushing up from the floor. He may not be a part of the search anymore, but he would damn well know their every move. Ben picked himself back up, snatched his helmet from the floor, and walked over to the door. He slipped his helmet on before letting himself smirk. If Hux wanted to play a game of power, then a game Ben would play. He would just find a way to stay two steps ahead of him. On the way back to his room he gently picked up a mouse droid, which angrily beeped at him in response. Ben assumed it meant something along the lines of "put me down," but he held on tight to the droid as it struggled in his hands. He quickly made his way to his room and locked the door, setting the droid down on his desk.

"Alright, little buddy, time for some rewiring," Ben smirked before he shut the droid off.

Rey slightly limped herself back to the base with Finn.

"You know, for some Jedi Master, you got your butt kicked by a stormtrooper regime," Finn teased.

"Hey, well at least I can hit the broadside of an AT-AT," Rey shot back.

"Oof, your words wound me," Finn chuckled as he placed his hand on his chest.

"Yeah, well that's just payback for the amount of times I fell out of that stupid tree!"

"By the end of it you were doing great, you really figured out your center of gravity. Now you should be able to jump higher distances with ease," Finn said, patting Rey on the back. "Well, I'm going to go get Poe and head to the mess hall. Catch you later."

"Yeah, I'll be there soon. I desperately need a shower... and maybe a med droid," Rey chuckled as she broke off and went back towards her quarters.

"And... done," Ben smiled as he finished reprogramming the mouse droid and shut the access panel. He turned the mouse back on and put it down on the ground.

"Okay, my friend. I know we didn't exactly meet under the best circumstances, but I'm giving you a new mission. I'm going to open this vent duct in the wall, you're going to go into the vent duct and make your way to the planning room. You're going to be my eyes and ears, Mouse. That's going to be the way I keep her safe... How I'll keep all of them safe," Ben explained as he undid the vent duct to let the mouse droid in. He placed the covering back against the wall, not screwing it in so that the mouse droid could easily get back in. Ben then fell back on his bed, letting out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding.

"I'll always keep you safe," he whispered, picturing Rey in his mind.

Rey turned off the water from her shower, squeezing the water out of her hair before wrapping herself in a towel. The hair on the back of her neck pricked up in the familiar feeling of being watched.

"Have you ever heard of knocking?" she smirked.

Ben felt the air flow out of his chest as he watched the water drip off her.

"You're so beautiful," Ben whispered as he stepped forward to kiss her neck, wrapping his arms around her.

"You're going to get wet," she chuckled, trying to squirm out of his arms.

"First of all, I don't care. Secondly, are you sure I'm the one who's going to get wet?" he whispered in her ear before nipping at her earlobe.

"Ben Solo, get your mind out of the gutter," Rey said, rolling her eyes. Ben smirked, his hand playfully tugging at where her towel was tucked in, threatening to open it. His mind went back to earlier, picturing Hux with Rey. Instinctively he pulled her flush against him before burying his face in neck, kissing and sucking his way up from her collarbone to her ear, marking her as his.

"Rey," he growled sliding his hand down her hip towards the edge of the towel.

"Ben," she gasped, feeling herself want to fall back into him. Her one hand slid up to cup his face, while her other hand went to grab his hand at her side before it slid under her towel. "Stop, please," she begged. "I can't keep going. You know where I stand."

She felt him sigh behind her. "I know. I'm sorry, it's just... it's been a long day, and I know that's no excuse, but... dammit, Rey, I'm just frustrated with this situation."

"So, talk to me," she told him, taking his hand and leading him back over to her bed.

"Hux took me off the search team for you, which made me feel like I couldn't protect you. Then, to make matters worse he basically told me he'd make you his sex slave and I just... the picture of his hands on you killed me, is killing me," Ben seethed. "I don't know what I'd do if he hurt you."

"Ben, he doesn't have me, and if he did ever capture me, I trust you enough to know you'll keep me safe. I love you, Ben Solo, and only you. Nothing is going to change that," she reassured him before placing a quick kiss on his lips.

"Now, I have to get dressed," she said, standing up to walk over to her bureau. "You're more than welcome to stay, but remember, you can look, but you can't touch," she smirked before letting her towel drop to the floor.

"Rey, you're going to be the death of me," Ben groaned before letting himself fade out of sight.
