"Want to see something cool?"
"How deadly is it?"
"You could get mangled."
"Oh, Dios mío... Let's get this over with."
Ozario shook himself off, giving me a dirty eye. I laughed and ran as fast as I could. I jumped across one building to the other. Ozario followed behind me. Onyx and I howled at the moon, trying to count constellations as we go. There weren't many, but it's been incredibly fun trying. I leaped off a building and dived on the back of a truck with Ozario by my side. We lay down on it, laughing.
"Wow, you got legs for a human," Onyx jokingly complimented. He patted my thigh.
"Really?" I asked, tilting my head. "I mean, I didn't think you noticed them in my nice mini skirt." I commented, ironically wearing black pants.
Ozario hovered over me and lifted my chin to his face. "I always notice you. You're the only one I see."
I blushed, "Ew," then giggled out, "Why are you being so mushy?"
We laughed. Ozario leaned in, touching his lips against mine very lightly. I thought he was going to kiss me, but, instead, Onyx jumped off, laughing. My jaw dropped, and I jumped off the truck. I ran after him, laughing too. He mocked how slow I was, even at equal speed. I yelled, "Blasphemy!" We reached the cliff near La Push's beach. We sat down on the grass and moss at the edge of the cliff. Ozario touched my chest. His left eyebrow bent inward.
"Where is the necklace I gave you?" He asked.
"Oh!" I pulled out two chains of the same necklace from my pocket. I said, "It broke during the argument with The Volturi. So, I had it fixed on TWO CHAINZ!" I referenced the rapper. I realized how poor the joke was. "No? I tried."
Ozario shook his head, chuckling at my joke. I showed Ozario the broken charm by pressing them together. I put one half around his neck and the other charm around mine. He smiled at me and kissed my cheek to thank me. I grabbed his hand, tugging him closer. Ozario wrapped his arms around me tightly, making us lay down with our feet dangling off the edge.
"I have a question, Onyx." I inquired, "How did you save me from myself last year? You weren't there, were you?"
"I was going to give you some time to cool off... But, The Diviner Coven called me and told me what you were about to do. Alice ran in a second after and... I felt so... I don't know." He tried to explain what happened.
OZARIO'S FLASHBACK: SAVING CATALINA
Over the phone, Skuld exclaimed in fear what was happening to my greatest friend, "Catalina is trying to kill herself! You have to stop her, now!"
"What?" My heart stopped, and my blood ran cold. No doubt my eyes turned red.
No. Cat... You're that afraid? That angry? I frowned and turned to the door.
Alice stood behind me with a worried expression.
"I already know. I'm going to get her." I responded and rushed out the door.
I didn't hesitate to spot the first vehicle I saw and scurry inside it. Out of all the things that has happened, I'm not losing her now! Henry opened the garage door for me. I pulled out and sped off as fast as the car would go. In all honesty, I don't know why I took a car when I could run faster. I was too pissed off to think straight then. All I understood was the fact I had seconds to get to her and stop her from making this horrible decision. I almost panicked. For the first time in my life, I felt something that made my heart race. Pumped my blood heavily without having to run. Had shaken me without an earthquake. I felt an excessive amount of fear.
I've never felt this amount of fear but only once in my entire life. I felt afraid to lose this abnormal human girl for what?
Right... Because I care and love her too much. So much that she could be the death of me. My phone lit up. Before it rang, I picked it up.
"Hello." My voice quivered.
"Ozario, hurry!" Shouted Urdur.
"I am! I am!" I shouted. I began thinking a little more thoroughly. I remembered something they taught me during my first century. "Hey, Verdandi."
"Yes, Ozzi?"
"Manipulate the present for me, please? Can you just give me a little more time," I begged?
"That's dangerou... I... I could try. Hold on." Verdandi left for a second.
I heard the three girls in the background debating what to do for Cat.
Skuld came back to the phone and said, "Ozario, you can stop her from using the gun!"
I repeated to myself, "Gun... Got it."
I loosened one hand from the wheel and moved it to the gears stick. I tapped my hand on the stick while change shifts. I turned the car and pressed on the gas a little harder. I breathed heavily.
"Again." Skuld asked.
I tapped my hand on the gear stick and bit my lip in hopes it worked. I waited until they asked for something else. There was no response, making me a little impatient. I heard them debate again. Urdur came to the phone.
She shouted, "Knives. Prevent her from using any silverware!"
I rubbed my thumb and index finger together. This should bend them and make'em disappear.
"It worked! They bent!" Urdur exclaimed happily. "Oh, no!" My heart beat race quicker the second she mumbled that.
Urdur said, "She's going after some bleach."
"I got it!" Verdandi took over.
For a while, the ladies were silent. I started tapping the foot that wasn't on a pedal. I began tapping my finger irritably. I couldn't stop staring so forward at the endless road, wondering and worrying. I tried to breath more slowly.
"Oh, my damn!" Skuld shouted, making me jerk in my seat. "You're not gonna make it, Ozario! She's about to hang herself!" I stomped on the gas pedal. No. No. No. I repeated in my head.
No. She can't go. She can't. Not, yet!
"Wait... What?" Verdandi whispered. She said, "Cat's neck is so strong. She is hanging, but she is breathing just fine. She just got herself down."
"Whaaat?" I whispered to myself, narrowing my eyes. This happened with Carlisle. What is she?
For a while, nothing happened. Apparently, Cat became so unbalanced she rocked herself in a corner in anger. This gave me time to get to her. I moved the gear shift to turn and sped off, again. I breathed in and out slowly. I began hearing Catalina shout at the sky through the phone. Verdandi must be using her crystal to watch her.
"She's going to the drawer to get a weapon and try again."
"It's alright. The silverware is gone." I replied. Yet, somehow, I must find a solution to convince Cati she doesn't need to die. Catalina's been reading that bible I had on my desk for decoration very sneaky like at night. I knew which ones she liked the most and which would help the most. "I have a request, please?"
"Yes?" Verdandi answered.
I looked at the bag I left in Rosalie's Ferrari. I asked, "Could you send Catalina messages for me."
"Of course! There are napkins there." Verdandi replied.
In fact, I brought the bible with me in my bag. I pulled it out and placed it on the passenger seat. I didn't need to open it to know which ones I needed. It wasn't just a decoration to me either. I relaxed and resumed steady breathing.
"Hm... Send her a few bible verses for me. First is John, chapter 11, verses 25 and 26." I asked, slowly detailing.
"Uh... Okaaay?" Verdandi accepted. She sounded curious why something like me would ask such a thing.
Urdur gasped and, merrily, announced, "Catalina stopped. I think she's startled, but she stopped!"
I nodded. I figured she would. "Send Luke, chapter 21, verses nine, 18 and 19."
Skuld asked after a long silence, "How do you know these?"
I remembered my life as a child and my life as a butler of the Orchid household. I shrugged and replied, "I just... do. Next is Psalms 27, verse 14."
"Let me guess." Skuld gleefully predicted, "Pastor White?"
The first man who ever changed my whole life for the better. He passed away when I was a child. I grinned, pulled up in Catalina's driveway. Her car was left in the same spot as always. I said, "Send her Psalms 23, four through six. That one is Catalina's favorite. I'm here."
"Got it," Verdandi joyfully stated! "Get her, Onyx!"
I opened the door and stepped out. I grabbed my bag and rushed inside. "Oh... I am." I growled. "And, I'm cracking the whip! Thank you for your help. I greatly appreciate it."
The Diviners giggled as always, and I hung up. I shouted,
"CATALINA YONG, GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!"
I rushed upstairs to Cat's room and found her feet slipping underneath her bed. Hmph.
CATALINA'S VIEW: PROMISE FOREVER
"Onyx." I whispered.
"I swear you make my heart jump, skip, race, run..." Ozario shook his head and bit his lip. "That's the second time in a long time I have gotten terrified. Catalina Arisu Yong, I promise to be by you forever." He vowed, gazing in my eyes.
I smiled and said, "Onyx, because your name is so got-damn long, Cullen. I promise to be with you forever."
He laughed. "You can't just ruin moments like that." He expressed.
"Pifft." I waved my hand and, sarcastically, intoned, "Well, I did." I chuckled afterward.
"Bonded together, Cati." Ozario stated, looking at the night stars. He began bobbing his head and softly sang, "You can count on me."
"Like 1, 2, 3 and I'll be there!" I loudly sang a little off key.
Ozario glanced at me with a funny face. "You should be a singer. Your voice is astounding," he clowned.
"Thanks! I love you, Ozario." I chuckled again.
"I love you too, Catalina." Onyx cooed.
He took my hand and kissed it. Ozario and I locked our pinkies together symbolically, like a red string. We spoke together, "Bond together. Last forever. We will never let each other go unraveled. All of our memories, we will cherish, because we will give each other our all. I live, I love, and I am happy you're in my new life. I love you."
Onyx and I smiled, holding each other tight. Being with him tonight made my heart pound loudly out of my chest.
"Great. Now, if I break our vows, I'd have to chop my pickie off," Ozario sarcastically remarked.
"Noooo!"
He and I laughed. Out of everything that has happened last year, it really was fate to meet Ozario and meet his family. It was fate to come home to Forks. I had truly been blessed the moment I stepped foot into Forks High School. Ozario and I stayed on the ground and rested for a little while longer. Eventually, we decided to head home. Thank you, Cullen family. I will make you proud forever...
ASTRID'S VIEW: PLANS LAST FOREVER
I glowered at the new couple of the house with disgust. They should not be together! Friends or lovers, it's just sick! A gorgeous peasant and his precious queen is such an ugly clandestine love life. Ambrosia, is this what you really wanted again? How distasteful could you be, my queen? To steal love from your sister? Why again? Someone brushed my shoulder. I turn around to see one of my temporary minions. The pathetic fool... What did he want?
"Yes, darling?" I smiled at him, tricking that pathetic mongrel of a man he is.
"Milady, I have taken the videos back from that girl. Now, no one will know of your works," he informed.
Hmm. I take it back. I should've known better than to think the Xaviero brothers wasn't as incompetent as most of my minions are. They were overwhelmingly special. "Good job, Henry. You've done a marvelous job. Now, rest up. Tell the others to get ready for the next ambush." Who knew that I could easily mind control Ozario's older brother? Me, beautiful and lovable me.
Henry walked away, like an imbecilic corpse, a mindless tool. I'll let him go once he returns home to his bed. I looked back to the two best friends hideously laughing and jumping off a cliff like buffoons. Ambrosia, I promised you I will repeat my mistake forever. You took something from me and I'll make you suffer for it forever. Shall I really do it? She, Catalina, is a mockery of my guilt. If I have to I will kill my sister a second time. Maybe, I've already planned to.
I snickered to myself and, then, walk away from the scene, "What shall I play this time?"
