Gray leaned against the brick wall by the front doors of the school, hands deep in his pockets, whistling a tune. He wasn't exactly sure why he agreed to meet this chick; he wasn't really sure how he felt about her either. He'd never really met a female version of Natsu before, yet somehow she was even more mean. He hated to admit that he was actually starting to like her, being friends with Natsu's dumb ass made him understand her sense of humor. After what felt like forever, one of the front doors flew open and a black blur ran past him. "Oi!" He shouted.
Abruptly, Lucy stopped, almost tripping at the action, and whirled around. She huffed and quickly walked up to him, grabbed his wrist even though his hand never left his pocket, and tugged him in the direction she was running a moment before. "Hurry the fuck up before Mr. Nosey Rosy Posey figures out I'm gone!"
His eyebrows scrunched as a half chuckle spilled out of him at her phrase to describe Natsu, but he allowed her to pull him along. "How the hell did you escape?"
"After I finished sucking his dick," Gray grimaced at the image, "I told him I would meet him in the next class in ten minutes. The idiot forgot he never told me where it was."
"That's disgusting."
"Oh, don't act like you wouldn't like it. Or do you fish for swimmers?"
Gray reeled back, ripping his wrist out of her grasp and finally out of his pocket. "Hell no!"
She side eyed him. "No need to get defensive, it was only a question."
"Pssh, whatever." Gray mumbled, which made Lucy roll her eyes at his attitude. They walked for a silent minute before he spoke up again. "So what the fuck are we doing anyway?"
"I have to get Natsu a fucking goddamn cocksucking ballgrabbing nippletwisting birthday fucking present! Ugh!"
"Jesus, calm the fuck down." Gray put a hand on her shoulder as she lowered her flapping arms. "You know he doesn't care what you get him, right?"
"I know! He's gonna love whatever the fuck I get him, but deep down he's gonna actually judge the thing, yet he's just gonna be excited that I got him anything, but since he's gonna love it unconditionally, it needs to actually be something fucking decent!" She stopped walking and took a few deep breaths, ignoring the way he was looking at her like she just slapped him in the face with a whole pie. "Fuck," she finished.
"So," Gray started as they slowly began to walk again after an awkward side glance. "Why ask me?"
"Because, you're his best friend and you know him pretty well I assumed. You probably know what he likes and doesn't like." She calmly explained. "I haven't really known him that long." He snorted at that. When he didn't willingly contribute any goddamn thing, she waved her hand in front of him. "So, what does he like?"
"Um..." Gray hummed as he thought. "He likes boxing... and cats."
Rolling her eyes at the man beside her, she crossed her arm under her tits. "I should've chose someone else."
Gray ran a hand down his face. "Alright, look. He doesn't actually have a lot of stuff. He never really talks about what he likes. We used to box and he likes cats, that's all I really know."
She frowned, but still appreciated his attempt. "Well, this will be fucking simple." He couldn't help but chuckle a little.
"I fucking hate this shit." Lucy whispered to herself as her and Gray browsed through yet another knick knack store, even though it was only the second one.
Gray heard her though. "Hate what? Existing?"
She smirked at that. "Shopping."
"Interesting."
"What?"
"Most girls love shopping."
"It's the devil."
He chuckled. "Every time I think I have you figured out, you throw me off."
"So stop trying then."
"I will never fucking understand why you like Natsu." He mumbled as he took one last look around the store.
"Me either," she sighed as she did the same. After the last pass over with their eyes gave them no ideas whatsofuckingever, she looked at the dark haired man... they could be twins now. "Let us now extract ourselves from satan's pee hole."
He shook his head at her, but agreed. "Yeah, fuck this."
Once they were outside, she turned to him. "Hey, thanks for trying. I know you hate me, but I appreciate the help."
He scratched the back of his neck. "I don't hate you, you just rub me the wrong way for some reason."
"I don't mean to, and I know I have weird humor. I'm sorry, you're actually a pretty cool dude."
His eyebrows shot up to his hairline. Had she actually said something nice? He couldn't help but smile at the way she had her arms cross and was trying not to look at him. She reminded him of his older sister... no wonder she irritated him. "Well, hey, it looks like you might be around for a while, so why not be civil, right?"
She looked at him in surprise. "Right." After an awkward silence, she cleared her throat. "I'm gonna go back to his house. Can you let him know that's where I went if he's freaking the fuck out?"
He snorted. "Most definitely. Stay safe."
"You do the same." They shared a wave and went their own ways. She wasn't sure, but she thought that went okay... at least he didn't hate her.
As she walked down the street, the thought of 'what in the fuckery to get Natsu for his birthday' on her mind, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye, stopping her dead in her tracks. Pressing her face right up against the glass of the store window, a giant smile lit up her face. "Perfect," she whispered. Her smile dropped when she second guessed this idea, but she eventually shook her head, whispering 'what the fuck ever' as she walked inside the store.
Hey guys, sorry for the long waits again. It's kinda a crazy world right now and I'm one of those 'essential' motherfuckers so I've been really busy, but I have not forgotten you lovely people, and I love you all!
