Kagome took a deep calming breath as she watched people come in and out of the two large cabins in front of her. Wedding day was upon her and Ayame had the entire tribe fishing up with final touches. Kagome was standing on the porch of the smaller cabin that she and the girls would be using as their dressing room, trying to use the fresh air to calm her nerves. She didn't know why she was so nervous. She had been counting down the days and now that the big day was finally here she could feel the butterflies.
"It's about time you got here!"
Kagome looked over to Ayame and could see Koga and the other males walking up to the cabin. It was still early so Kagome had no idea why Ayame was trying to hurry everyone up.
"Would you calm down? We have plenty of time!" Koga responded.
Ayame put her hands on her hips. "You're lucky I have been taking care of everything. Your cabins that way."
Ayame jerked her head to the right and motioned for the males to get going. Kaien took the opportunity to quickly kiss his mate and led the males toward their cabin.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing missy?"
Kagome groaned. "I'm not getting in that dress for a few more hours. I'm just getting some fresh air."
"Get your butt back in that cabin! Koga don't you even think about it!"
Completely ignoring Ayames shouts of disapproval Koga ran up the porch steps and gave Kagome a searing kiss. Kagome felt her nerves start to melt away. She had no idea how Koga had this much power of her but she wasn't going to complain.
"You two aren't supposed to see each other before the ceremony!" Ayame yelled.
Koga chuckled as he pressed his forehead to Kagome's. "After today I refuse to listen to her."
Kagome smiled. "Just a few more hours. After that you can be boss again."
"You could easily put her in her place tour know."
Kagome smacked Koga's arm. "I put her in charge for the day. I will not go back on my decision."
"Koga! Get your ass to your cabin before I drag you there!"
Koga groaned. "Alright, alright!"
As Koga took a step back he squeezed Kagome's hand. It brought her comfort to know he was trying to quell her nerves. He always knew what to do the second he laid eyes on her. She loved him for it.
"See you at the altar."
Kagome nodded and let her hand slowly slip from his. She watched as Koga and the other males made their way to their cabin. Once on the porch their shared one last longing look.
"It's wedding day!" Eri squealed!
"I'm so excited!" Yuka exclaimed.
Ayumi skipped up to the cabin porch. "I can't wait to see you walk down that aisle Kagome!"
I can't wait to see Koga's face." Yuka said.
Eri hummed in agreement. "The moment he sees you in that dress is going to be priceless!"
Koga chuckled before he waved at the girls and shut the cabin door behind him.
"You ready Kagome?" Ayumi asked.
Kagome took another deep breath. "Ready."
. . . .
Koga tapped his pen on the notepad and let out a sigh. How were vows so hard to write? Miroku made it seem so easy but when it came to actually putting together what he wanted to say he was completely stumped. He knew exactly what he was going to say for their mating ceremony whenever they had it but his wedding vows were a whole other story. He had so much he wanted to say it was impossible to pick which things he should say.
A knock on the cabin door pulled him from his thoughts and he smiled as Rei and Grandpa opened the door. Sota was walking Kagome down the aisle and was in the cabin with them so he wasn't surprised to see them.
"My do my boys clean up nicely." Rei said.
Sota blushed as he fiddled hit his bowtie. "Shouldn't you be with Kagome?"
"I'm going over to see her next. Thought I should check on my sons first." Rei said as she straightened Sota's bowtie.
Ginta giggled. "You just didn't want Koga asking about Kagome's dress."
Rei grinned. "Maybe."
Hakkaku finished putting on his tie. "On a scale of one to ten, what's the chance of Koga's jaw dropping?"
Grandpa chuckled. "Knowing our Kagome, eleven."
"More like twelve." Rei said.
"She could be in sweats and a baggy t-shirt and his jaw would drop." Inuyasha stated, sliding his suit jacket onto his arms.
Koga smiled and turned his attention back to his vows. He was so engrossed by his thoughts that he didn't notice Rei till she put a hand on his shoulder.
"Everything all right dear?"
Koga let out a sigh. "I'm having trouble with my vows."
"Seriously? You haven't written them?" Inuyasha asked.
"Too much I want to say."
"I did give you a few things to help." Miroku supplied.
Koga rubbed his eyes. "I know. I just can't decide."
Rei squeezed his shoulder. "Let me help."
"Really?"
Rei nodded. "We can pick the best lines and put them all together."
Koga smiled. "Thanks Ma. I really appreciate it."
"Of course dear. Now let's see what you got."
. . . .
Kagome looked herself over in the full length mirror. Her dress was absolutely perfect. The skirt wasn't too poofy, the beading wasn't overwhelming and the bodice wasn't tight. The skirt didn't drag the floor even though she was wearing flats. It was strapless but her cleavage was perfectly hidden. She wore little makeup and her hair was done up in a braid. A small tiara was perfectly placed a top her ahead along with her veil. She was absolutely beautiful.
"Oh my goodness!"
Kagome turned around to see her Mom, Grandpa and Sota had just entered the cabin. Rei and Grandpa's eyes were filling with tears.
"Isn't she stunning?" Ayumi exclaimed.
"She is so gorgeous!" Yuka squealed.
Eri hummed in agreement. "The most beautiful bride I have ever seen!"
"Koga's jaw is going to hit the floor." Sango stated.
Grandpa sniffled. "You're absolutely beautiful Kagome."
Kagome smiled as she embraced Grandpa in a hug. "Thanks Grandpa."
Rei started fanning her face with her hands. "I told myself I wasn't going to cry."
"Mom! If you start crying I'm going to cry!"
"Sorry dear! I can't help it! I have dreamed of this moment and now that it's happening I'm just overwhelmed with joy!"
Ayame put her hands on Rei's shoulders. "Let's all take a deep breath. It time to head over to the other cabin."
Everyone took a deep slow breath. Rei hugged Kagome tightly before leading Grandpa out the door. Sota held the door open for the girls as they gathered up their bouquets and made their way outside. Ayame held up Kagome's dress train as they all made the trek to the cabin the ceremony would be taking place in. Once there Sota held the door open and ushered them all inside. As soon as Kagome made it over the threshold the males waiting inside looked at her with wide eyes. Kagome couldn't help but giggle.
"Wow Kagome." Shippo said.
"You're stunning." Kaien stated.
"No kidding." Hakkaku agreed.
Ginta starting fanning his face. "Koga is going to lose his mind! Look at you? You're so gorgeous I'm going to cry."
"There will be no tears! Kagome's makeup will not be ruined." Ayame stated before she kissed her mate on the cheek. "I'll see you all in there."
"Hang on a minute."
Kagome looked up and saw Inuyasha and Miroku entering the room.
Ayame nearly blew a gasket. "What are you two doing? Miroku! You're supposed to be up there with Koga!"
"We know!" Inuyasha retorted. "We were given permission to see Kagome before she walked down the aisle."
Ayame groaned. "Hurry up!"
Inuyasha rolled his eyes and Miroku chuckled. Kagome made her way over to them and was enveloped into a hug.
"You really are beautiful Kagome. Koga is one lucky wolf."
Kagome blinked back tears. "Thank you Inuyasha."
Inuyasha pulled away and kissed the top of her head before he stepped back. Miroku brought Kagome into a quick embrace. He didn't want to anger Ayame anymore. Once he stepped back he looked Kagome in the eye.
"Ready?"
Kagome nodded. "More than ready."
"See you up there."
With that, Miroku and Inuyasha quickly walked back through the door they came from. Once they were out of sight Ayame put her hands on Kagome's shoulders.
"Inuyasha is right you know. Koga is a lucky wolf."
Ayame quickly hugged Kagome and followed Miroku and Inuyasha through the door.
"Alright let's line up so Ayame won't have out heads."
As they all paired up with who they were walking with - Sango with Hakkaku, Ayumi with Ginta, Eri with Shippo and Yuka with Kaien – Kagome began to feel the butterflies again. She didn't really have a clue how many people were in there waiting for here. She knew for sure the whole tribe was here and so were Eri, Yuka and Ayumi's parents. Sesshomaru and Nanale were in there, along with their children. Rin was sitting with her young ones and Misueke was right next to Inuyasha. But other than that she wasn't sure if Ayame had invited anyone else. She seriously hoped not. Her mating ceremony was going to be attended by all four regions. She had to deal with one hell of a crowd later tonight. She didn't need to deal with another one before that.
Kagome was pulled from her thoughts as I Do by 98 degrees started playing. She took a deep breath as the door opened and Hakkaku and Sango began there walk to the aisle. She took another deep breath as Ginta and Ayumi walked through the doorway. And then another and another as Eri and Shippo and Yuka and Kaien followed the others.
"It's ok Kagome."
Kagome looked down at Sota as he held out his hand.
"I won't let you fall"
Kagome smiled down at her little brother and took his hand. The moment her hand was in his her nerves melted away. She completely forgot about all the people who were waiting for her and just focused on Sota.
. . . .
Koga stared at that door as each pair walked through. Kagome would be coming through that door any second. As Kaien and Yuka took their places near the altar Koga took a deep breath. His Kagome was going to be making her way to him.
Miroku asked for everyone in attendance to rise and the door was opened wide. The second Kagome came into view Koga lost the ability to think. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped. She was absolutely beautiful! Her dress fit her so perfectly, she looked like she was glowing. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to have her.
As Kagome neared the altar Koga shook himself from his stupor. He needed to focus. When Kagome as at the end of the aisle and Sota stretched out her hand Koga stepped up to take it. But before he could wrap his fingers around her hand Sota pulled it back. Koga rose both brows and looked down at the boy. He was only a little over half Kagome's size but the look in his eyes more than made up for it.
"If you hurt her I'll hurt you."
Koga smirked. It would seem that Sota was very protective over his sister.
"Understood Sota."
Sota responded with a smirk of his own and then handed Kagome's hand over. This time Kagome pulled her hand away to set it on top of Sota's head and then kissed his cheek.
"You're the best little brother I could ever ask for."
Out of the corner of Koga's eye he could see Yuri with a camera in her hands, capturing the sweet moment between the siblings. Kagome ruffled Sota's hair a little then put her small hand in Koga's large one. Koga then lead her over to where Miroku was standing and smiled down at her as she handed her bouquet over to Sango as Yuka and Eri straightened the back of her dress.
"You may be seated." Miroku addressed the crowd.
Koga turned his complete attention to Kagome. He barely registered what Miroku was saying, knowing it was just some preachy stuff he didn't need to pay any mind too. This wedding was for Kagome and Grandpa. Nothing else mattered to let alone what Miroku had to say. Koga said I do when he needed too and now the moment he had been waiting for all day had arrived. The moment he would say his vows.
"Koga and Kagome decided to find their own vows to say to one another. Koga please state your vows and place the ring on her left hand."
Hakkaku handed the ring over to Koga and he quickly took it. He grabbed Kagome's left hand and smiled down at her.
"With this ring, I give you my heart. I promise from this day forward, you shall not walk alone. May my heart be your shelter, and my arms be your home. I choose you to be no other than yourself, loving what I know of you, and trusting who you will become. I will respect and honor you always and in all ways. I take you as my wife. To have and to hold. In tears and in laughter. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish. From this day forward, in this life and the next."
Kagome fought back tears as Koga slid the ring on her finger.
"Kagome please state your vows and place the ring on Koga's left hand."
Sango plopped the ring into Kagome's right hand as she grabbed Koga's left with her left.
"As I stand here before you, looking into your eyes, I see all of the things I fell in love with. As I stand here before you, my heart beating so strongly, I find myself so lost for the right words to say. As I stand here before you, this ring in my hand, it makes me remember how complete you make my life. It makes me remember every laugh we've ever shared, every hard time we made it through together, and every beautiful moment there is to come. I give you this ring, my heart, my soul. I give you everything I am today as I stand before you. I promise to love you, protect you, be with you forever, and cherish every moment. With this ring, let it be known that I chose you. Let it be known, that with this ring, I promise to be with you in this life and the next."
Koga couldn't help but smile as Kagome recited her vows like the Alpha she is. He couldn't wait to hear her say her mating vows.
"By the power vested in me by Buddha above I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."
Koga pulled Kagome to him and gave her a toe curling kiss. Cheers rang out around the room but Koga paid them no mind. The only thing that matter to him was the woman who was now his wife. Now it was time to plan their mating ceremony so he could share his blood with his beloved Kagome, officially making her his mate. He and his beast couldn't wait.
. . . .
Kagome couldn't help the giggles that kept escaping her. She was just so giddy! Today was definitely one of the best days of her life.
"I'm surprised the elders haven't shown their ugly heads." Kaien said.
Koga groaned. "They have no business here. They weren't invited so they don't know about it."
"Next meeting is in a few days. They are going to see your rings." Shippo stated.
"Kagome put them in their place." Ginta remind the group.
Hakkaku hummed in agreement. "Besides I'm sure Koga has already been planning the mating ceremony."
Kagome tried to hold back a laugh but it escaped her lips. All five males looked back at her with raised brows. Lucky for her Ayame came up behind her.
"No need for him to plan. Kagome and I have been discussing it for a while. Already set the date and everything."
Koga's brows met his hair. "And you didn't think to inform me of it?"
Ayame shrugged. "You have enough to worry about. Between planning out Grandpa's final days and now having to prepare for the twins, you don't need to add more. At least that's what Kagome said."
Koga chuckled. "Why do I have a feeling you're not being completely truthful?"
Kagome smirked. "Guess you'll just have to wait and see. For now we have a reception to get to."
Ayame motioned for them to follow her to the reception cabin. Once near it Kagome could see through the windows that everyone was seated and waiting for them to arrive. All the guests were chatting amongst their tables and paid no mind when the wedding party minus the bride and groom walked in. Sango took quick steps over to the DJ booth and grabbed one of the microphones off the table.
"If I can have everyone's attention."
The entire room quieted down as they all turned to face her.
"Please help me in welcoming the newlyweds, Koga and Kagome Tanaka."
As the crowd began to cheer and whistle Koga lead Kagome to the dance floor. When they were in the middle Koga spun her around before bringing her close and the music began to play. I Swear by All-4-One filled her ears as she and Koga began to sway across the floor. She remembered when she asked Koga what song he wanted their first dance to be too. He had said he didn't care, as he always did, but Kagome wouldn't take that as an answer. She sat him down and played every slow song she could find. Koga hated everyone but as soon as I Swear started to play and he head just the first few lyrics he picked it. And now nose to nose and eye to eye Kagome was taken by surprise when Koga started singing the words
"And I swear, by the moon and the stars in the sky, I'll be there. I swear, like a shadow that's by your side, I'll be there. For better or worse, till death do us part, I'll love you with every beat of my heart. And I swear."
Kagome felt tears fill her eyes. She had no idea he had learned the words. It felt as though the songs words were his vows. It filled her with such happiness.
"I'll give you everything I can. I'll build your dreams with these two hands. We'll hang some memories on the wall."
Rei started fanning her face as she sniffled. "He's singing the song to her."
"And when just the two of us are there, you won't have to ask if I still care. Cause as the time turns the page, my love won't age at all."
Ayame wrapped and arm around Rei's waist as she whipped a tear away. "I had no idea he was doing this."
"And I swear, by the moon and the stars in the sky, I'll be there. And I swear, like a shadow that by your side, I'll be there. For better or worse, till death do us part, ill love you with every beat of my heart. And I swear."
Ginta leaned against Hakkaku. "I didn't know he was doing this either. It's so sweet."
Hakkaku wrapped his arm around Ginta. "I don't think he told anyone about this."
Inuyasha sniffed and rubbed his eye. Misueke raised a brow at her mate. He was crying.
"Are you crying Inuyasha?" Shippo asked.
"No." Inuyasha crossed his arms and was silent a moment. "Maybe."
Miroku chuckled. "Can you blame him?"
"This moment is too beautiful not too." Sango supplied.
Eri was trying hard not to let her tears fall. "They are so cute together."
"So absolutely perfect." Yuka agreed, tears welling in her eyes.
"You can feel his love for her." Ayumi said, whipping the streaming tears from her face.
Nanale leaned her head on Sesshomaru's shoulder. "This moment is just as perfect as I thought it would be."
Misueke entwined her arm with Inuyasha's. "Definitely one of the best days of all of our lives.
As the song came to an end Koga spun Kagome and the whole room erupted into cheers.
"I had no idea you learned the words." Kagome sniffled.
"There were too perfect not to learn."
. . . .
As the night was winding down Koga was looking forward to going to the cabin Ayame had deemed 'the newlywed cabin'. He was more than ready to be alone with his wife. But as the parents of Kagome's friends left the national park Ayame grabbed Kagome by the arm.
"Ok ladies! Time to calm with me. Mom, you too. Boys, go with Sesshomaru. The rest of you, do as I told you."
Koga rose a brow. "What the hell are you up too?"
Ayames just smirked as she led the females outside and toward their dressing cabin.
"Have you really not figured it out?"
Koga furrowed his brows. "Why are you in on this?"
Sesshomaru chuckled. "You will see soon enough. Come with me."
Koga made a face but followed the Western Lord. He led them almost all the way back to the ceremony cabin before Koga let out a groan. The elders were standing outside the cabin doors.
"The fuck are they doing here?"
Shippo started to snicker. "Did Ayame plan the mating ceremony for tonight or something?"
Sesshomaru looked over his shoulder with a smirk but said nothing. Koga looked at him like he was crazy before his mind caught up to what Shippo had said. His feet stopped moving and as he stood in place his eyes began to go wide.
"Figured it out now, wolf?" Sesshomaru asked, his smirk still in place.
"You… you knew? This whole time, you were helping Ayame plan this?"
Sesshomaru nodded. "Though it wasn't her idea. It was Kagome's."
Koga nearly forgot how to breathe. He remembered the small conversation before the reception about their mating and he knew they were both hiding something. But for Kagome to have Ayame plan this completely in secret and with Sesshomaru's help?
Koga grinned from ear to ear. "I had wondered why Kagome gave the reins completely to Ayame."
"Looks like Kagome found her Beta female." Hakkaku stated.
"Does that mean I get a promotion?" Kaien asked.
"We can talk about all of this later." Ginta exclaimed. "We have a mating ceremony to get to.
Sesshomaru led the way into the cabin but instead of heading through the doors to the ceremony room he led them downstairs and into a changing room. As soon as the door was shut behind them Sesshomaru walked over to a table on the far right wall where garment bags were laying. He picked up the one on top and unzipped it. Koga nearly lost his mind. Inside the bag was a perfect replica of his armor and furs from the Feudal Era.
"These were Ayames idea. The females also have their own attire from our Era." Sesshomaru stated.
Koga grinned mischievously as he licked a fang. "Kagome has furs?"
Ginta giggled. "Leave it to sis to want a Feudal Era mating ceremony."
"I was informed that Kagome's words were 'if Koga can act like a human for a day then I can act like a wolf for a night.'"
Sesshomaru handed the bag over to Koga and began unzipping and handing the others over to who they belonged. Once every male had their attire they quickly put them on.
"How long has it been since we wore furs?" Ginta asked.
Hakkaku looked himself over in the wall length mirror and clicked his tongue. "We stopped wearing them when Koga became Lord."
Kaien shook his head. "We still wore furs then. He was Lord for at least fifty years, give or take, before we stopped wearing them completely."
Koga scoffed as he strapped his armor around his torso. "We stopped wearing furs when we had to start blending in."
Inuyasha huffed. "It's really strange to be back in this."
Miroku nodded as he adjusted his sleeves. "If you had your beads on your neck and I had mine on my arm we would be looking right at our past selves."
"I had almost forgotten what my armor looked like." Sesshomaru stated as he draped his fur on his shoulder.
Shippo sighed as his tail twitched. "At least you all look more human. I have fox feet and this bushy thing."
Koga laughed as he arranged his bangs over his headband. "Should have know Kagome would want us to be our natural selves. The only one of us she didn't know back then was Kaien. But the rest of us look exactly as we did when we met her."
Ginta sighed contently. "I wonder if she did this for Sota. He did want to meet us back then."
"It's possible. But then again Kagome may just want the ceremony to be like what it would have been back then." Hakkaku chuckled.
Koga stared himself in the eye as he adjusted his hair. "I don't care why she wanted us dressed like this. I'm just glad I get to see her in furs."
. . . .
Kagome couldn't help the grin as she looked over her friends and family. Her mom, Rin and three friends were dressed in kimonos. Rin's looked exactly like the one Kagome remembered her wearing when she had met her. Sango was dressed in her armor with her Hiraikotsu strapped around her. Nanale had on a kimono with the same colors and patterns as Sesshomaru's garb. Ayame was in her white fur and armor and had a replica of the flower she always had in her hair.
Ayame sighed. "Can't believe I'm doing this."
Ayame ran her claws through her hair and parted it into two sections, one over each shoulder to keep them separate. She put her hands on her hips and let out a huff. Kagome giggled before she put an arm around the she wolf. Ayame really didn't want to put her hair up in those pigtails.
"You don't have to do it."
Ayame shook her head. "Yes I do. I didn't put my hair down for twenty years after you left. If you had stayed my hair would have been in pigtails still. So I must have the pigtails."
Kagome smiled reassuringly. "Want me to do it? You can tell everyone I made you do it."
Ayames slumped her shoulders. "I won't say that but yes I do need your help."
Kagome grabbed the hairiest from Ayame's hand and got to work. She carefully gathered one section of Ayame's hair in the exact spot she remembered her pigtail being and placed the hair tie around the section. When finished Kagome mad slight adjustments before moving on to the next section. After both pigtails were in place Kagome put the flower in the place she remembered it being and looked at Ayame's reflection.
"It's like I'm starting right into the past."
"No kidding." Ayame replied.
"Remind me to thank the spider sisters when we see them." Misueke said to the group.
Kagome turned her head to look at her and was immediately flabbergasted. Misueke was dressed in white hakamas and a white and gold haori. The sash around her wait was lavender with gold detailing. Her hair was half up and half down and a top her head was an intricate lavender crystal tiara.
Kagome had never met a shaman before let alone a demon shaman. She was getting to see for the first time what she looked like when her friends had met her all those years ago.
"Now all you need is your staff." Sango stated.
Misueke grinned as she crouched down to dig through the bag at her feet. When she found the object she was searching for she carefully pulled it from the bag.
"A shaman is not a shaman with their magic tool."
Misueke held up her staff for all to see. The staff was made of white wood and made the whole room smell like pine. The tip was dipped in gold and the shaft had gold marbled into the wood. From the top of the staff bloomed wisteria flowers and lavender.
"That is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." Eri exclaimed.
Ayumi and Yuka nodded their heads in agreement, their eyes wide and mouth agape.
"All shaman create their magic tool. Some take years to make other months. In my village you became a shaman when your magic tool was created. It is the symbol of a shaman's power. If I were to lose this or if it were to be destroyed in anyway then I would lose my power."
"Then let's all make sure that staff stays in one piece and is always in sight." Kagome stated.
. . . .
Koga looked around as he sat with the other Lords. He doubted he would see Kagome till the ceremony began but he was damn sure going to try to at least get a peak. When the doors opened Koga sat up straighter to see if he could catch a glimpse of her but he had no luck. He let out a huff as he put an elbow to his leg and leaned his face on his fist.
"Calm down. You will see her." Shippo said as he elbowed Koga in the ribs.
"He won't have to wait long."
Koga looked over to where Miroku was leaning against the wall with Inuyasha. He raised a brow at the monk but Miroku and Inuyasha's eyes where elsewhere. Koga followed their line of vision and had to blink a few times. For a moment he actually thought he was back in the past.
"Sango, my love, I had completely forgotten how you looked wearing your slayer uniform."
Sango smiled wide at her husband. "I did too. Can't tell you how many times I had to double check we were still in the Modern Era."
"Tell me…about..it."
As Inuyasha stuttered Misueke made her way through the crowd.
"My Lords." Misueke bowed. "Wonderful evening we're having."
Koga smirked as he looked to Inuyasha who just stood there with his mouth open. He would blink every few seconds but other that it was like his brain had completely broke.
Misueke giggled. "I forgot how well red suits you."
Inuyasha stuttered for a second before he shook himself. He pushed himself off the wall and gathered his mate into his arms to plant a kiss to her lips.
"You truly are a sight to behold"
"Awe! You two are so cute together" Ayumi stated.
Inuyasha rolled his eyes but his smile never left his face. "You three clean up nice."
Yuka giggled. "These were Kagome's idea."
"Remind us to thank her." Eri said.
"No need too."
Koga looked up as Ayame approached and started to stifle a laugh.
"Shut up. I had to do this."
Kaien grinned mischievously. "You should wear your hair up more often."
Ayame huffed. "Now is not the time."
Koga, Ginta and Hakkaku burst out into laughter. They had forgotten how childish Ayame use to look.
"And here I was thinking you three were men, not children."
Koga looked up as he heard Kagome's voice and immediately stopped laughing. Hell his brain ceased all function. It took Ginta and Hakkaku two extra seconds for their laughter to stop but as soon as their eyes landed on Kagome their laughter ended quickly.
"Woah!"
"Inuyasha is right. You look lovely Kagome." Miroku stated.
Ginta scoffed. "Lovely? She's drop dead gorgeous!"
Hakkaku whistled. "If I didn't know any better I'd say you were a she wolf not a human."
Koga wanted to say how beautiful she looked but his mind was no longer communicating with his mouth. She looked stunning in her black fur skirt and armor. She had on black fur arm warmers instead of wristbands and her leg warmers came up past her knees. Her hair was done and she had a black fur head band keeping her bangs from her eyes. And tied to each shoulder of her armor was either side of her black fur cape.
"And I thought he was speechless earlier." Sango teased.
Rin giggled. "His face is priceless."
Nanale hummed her agreement. "Let's hope he can recite his vows."
Sesshomaru chuckled as he rose to his feet. "Let the ceremony begin."
For the first few moments of the ceremony were a blur. He could remember Hakkaku pushing him to his feet and Sesshomaru leading him to the bear pelt. He vaguely heard what Sesshomaru said to get the ceremony attendees attention. He completely blocked out the first tidbit of preaching. It wasn't until Shippo brought Kagome to the pelt and set her hand in his that his mind began to focus. But even then his focus was on her.
He did see Ginta and Hakkaku bring the sacred dagger and chalice over to them. But he didn't hear Sesshomaru stating to the crowd how Koga and Kagome would not only be sharing blood but would be offering a small amount of blood to be mixed together and thrown into the ceremonial fire for their mating to be blessed by the ancestors above.
"Koga, state your vows so that you two may be bonded as one."
Koga blinked himself out of his stupor before grinning and taking the dagger from Ginta. He took Kagome's right hand in his and sliced her palm. He held her hand over the chalice and as her blood trickled into the cup he recited his vows.
"You are my everything. You are the air I breathe. You are the reason my heart beats. Without you I am nothing. You are all I am and all I will be. You are my life. I will love you till the day I draw my last breath. For you are my world. From this day forward you are mine, and I am yours. In this life and the next."
Koga then brought Kagome's hand to his mouth and ran his tongue across the cut he had made. Koga swallowed down his growl as the taste of her blood hit his taste buds. She was truly the sweetest thing he had ever tasted.
"Kagome, state your vows so that you two may be bonded as one."
Kagome smiled at him as she took the dagger and sliced his right palm. As she held his hand over the chalice and his blood dripped down to mix with hers she recited her vows.
"You are my everything. You are the air I breathe. You are the reason my heart beats. Without you I am nothing. You are all I am and all I will be. You are my life. I will love you till the day I draw my last breath. For you are my world. From this day forward you are mine, and I am yours. In this life and the next."
Koga figured Kagome would just lick the side of his hand or even run her finger across his bloody palm to lick his blood from her finger. But instead she brought his hand to her mouth and without breaking eye contact licked his palm clean. He could feel the wound begin to heal and knew she had used her healing power. When she pulled away from his hand he noticed blood smeared across her top lip. Koga grinned mischievously at her as she licked the blood from her lips.
Hakkaku then took the chalice out the door behind Sesshomaru were a small fire pit had been lit. Hakkaku swirled the blood around to mix it and then threw the chalice into the fire. The flames changed from orange and yellow to blue and pink. As their blood was consumed by the flames the fire grew in size and swirled upward toward the sky. The flames expand and seemed to burst apart as howls rang out into the night, the wolf ancestors exclaiming their joy for the newly bonded pair.
The tribe around them voiced their own howls as Koga brought Kagome into a tight embrace and kissed her fiercely. The moment he pulled his face away from hers his own howl rang out into the night.

Hello again my lovelies! So the reason why I was MIA was because I wasn't in the right headspace to write. And I was also stuck on what to do for this chapter. 3 chapters of a new story later this chapter was born! My longest chapter ever at that! So I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you next time!
