It started with their area codes. Albus and Scorpius were both put into a Whatsapp group for fans of Daniel Crafter, a series of books about a teenage wizard. Whatsapp, though, used their phone numbers and Albus noticed that they had the same area code, which means they must've lived close to each other.

It took him too long to actually message Scorpius outside of the group chat, but once he did, they became really close friends. In fact, Scorpius is definitely the closest friend Albus has, ever.

A few months into their friendship, Albus had brought up that they probably lived in the same area, because of their area code. They both had thought it was pretty cool, and they joked about meeting up.

It just never happened.

Until one day, the actor who played Daniel Crafter in the movies, Arthur Radcliffe, was having a meet and greet in their town. Albus told Scorpius that they had to go, and Scorpius agreed.

Albus couldn't believe that he was going to meet Arthur Radcliffe in real life, but more importantly: he was going to meet Scorpius.

The day of the meet and greet, it took Albus an hour to pick an outfit that he didn't absolutely hate, and he took a car to the bookshop the meet and greet was in. For some reason, his nerves were thrumming, and he felt more nervous about meeting Scorpius than meeting Arthur.

When he got out of the car, there were a lot of people there. He scanned the crowd, trying to find Scorpius. They had sent each other a lot of selfies, so Albus thought he would be able to find him easily.

He looks and he looks, and he's about to give up and just text Scorpius, when someone taps him on the shoulder.

Scorpius is standing there, in all of his blond and tall glory. They're both shocked at seeing each other in person for the first time, but Albus breaks it by attacking Scorpius in a huge hug.

Scorpius hugs him back, and there's an instant connection. Albus has never felt anything so strong.
