Two hours into the trip, Scorpius falls asleep on Albus' shoulder. They were sitting together, and they kept up a pretty good conversation for the first half of the trip. Everywhere else on the bus was full, so they had ended up sitting next to each other. They had introduced themselves, and they had both found out that they were going to the same place, a four hour bus drive away.
When Albus had pulled out a Daniel Crafter book, Scorpius had started a conversation about how good the series is. They had talked for a while about the world of wizards in the Daniel Crafter series, and their conversation had strayed into their lives and about themselves, and Albus felt them really connecting.
Scorpius is an only child, while Albus has two siblings, but they both loved English in school. They also both had never played a sport and instead joined the marching band. Albus didn't know Scorpius when he started the trip, but he feels really close to him. Maybe it's the fact that they're stuck next to each other for an extended period of time.
Whatever it is, Scorpius falls asleep on Albus' shoulder. Albus finds himself not minding. He turns his head to awkwardly look at Scorpius sleep, and he likes how his body slightly moves with every breath in and out. Scorpius looks angelic when he sleeps, and his mouth is half open. Albus almost wants to take a picture, but he's afraid of moving to get his phone. He might wake Scorpius up.
The bus drives along, and with every jolt of the road, Albus shifts so that Scorpius doesn't wake up. For the next hour, all Albus can concentrate on is making sure that Scorpius doesn't wake up. He wants him to be comfortable.
Albus thinks he might want this relationship to last longer than a bus ride.
