Regina wanted to cook breakfast for everybody in the late morning, so she texted both Henry and Hope to join because she wanted to give the new keys and code to the gate.
She had a lot of new furniture along with what she had previously. She has decided to open the view on the second floor so she can see from the first floor's living room, so she made square with halls around it that access the rooms and hallways of the second floor, but at the front is still the reading room out in the open. People can see from below or up above to reduce the yelling, knowing Nardia and Regma would.
Regma and Nardia would sleep on the left side right off the front stairs sharing the bathroom. Hope can sleep in bedroom three, which is across the hall from the television room. Regina had both game and television room soundproof because probably would use music or turning up the volume to watch movie. The stairs are right down from bedroom three that goes to the family room so that it would be quicker for Hope.
The game room has tennis, air hockey, and pool three in one, so the table is at least 9x3 or more prominent. It also has a foosball table. The Tech room has two apple computers for girls to use for school. The media room is a home theater that has a couch all around so comfortable with a large television that fills the entire wall by using the projection facing the sofas with the sound system. The media room does not have lights, but thin purple lights like stars on the ceiling that can see but not too dark, so just perfect.
The new baby room would be right off the front stairs on the right that is down the hall from the girls. Regina wanted the newborn to be close to the girls for now.
Emma wanted the security system in place since it is more significant, and the girls are becoming teenagers. Regina has been holding it off, but per request, she added a security system with the cameras outside and the hallways. The security room is down the hall from the kitchen and right next to the laundry room. The last two rooms in the same area as laundry and security room have still not decided by Regina, but she left it empty in case if somehow, in the future, if she needs a room for any reason and then she'll have extras. The last bedroom that is across the hall from Hope's room would be for future child of Regina and Emma's.
Regina did not change the style of the all grown young adult's room, so they can decide to change if they want to. Regina put the room in the same way as previous ones without changing. Both Henry's apartment above the garage; she put plates, cups, and cookware supplies for the kitchen.
As for the master bedroom, Regina refers to talk to Emma first to see if she wanted something new in their bedroom. Regina wanted a new mattress and frame, but she knows it is essential to pick together. Regina decided to wait until later in the day for both of them to discuss their rooms. She has completed the gym just the way Emma wanted by the photo she showed Regina the night before.
Regina did not hear anybody arriving until all of them yelling, mom, so she made wireless intercom in each room right next to the light twitch. Regina had a major intercom that connects all of them in the kitchen and their master bedroom. One main thing that Regina does not want anybody is doing is yelling in the house, which is ridiculous. Regina was thankful that she had magic to do all of this in one full day instead of hiring everybody to remodel the home would take months to get it completed, but she doesn't have months. The newborn would be coming probably next month, so she needs to speed things up as it is.
Regina teleported in black smoke in front of the entire crowd with her arms on her waist, "What did I say about yelling in this house?"
All of them apologized while Regina explained that is the reason she installs an intercom in each room, and the major intercom is in the kitchen. Regina showed her around the house, and everybody was speechless. They all felt luxurious, but the layout of the house is similar to previous ones, so it has not changed much except having more space and rooms.
Regina gave them all the keys to the house of front and back door and then redirected to both Henry, showing them another set of keys, "Henry, I finally got you both your rooms." She walked to show them outside from motor court, followed by everybody to see what's going on, pointing upstairs above the garage, "that is your own private space. I know it is not big, but it has a living and dining room with a kitchen as well as two bedrooms and a bathroom."
Both Henry was utterly astonished speechless while taking the keys, and then Regina continued, "you both only have the keys to that except for me as a backup."
Both Henry embraced Regina still couldn't believe it and doesn't know what to say, "Thanks, mom."
"You are my boys, so you will always have a place here, so I hope you will find time to come and spend time with your mom," Regina hugged back, holding back tears. Both Henry felt terrible that they have been busy with their wives and work, so they promised to visit more often, and then Regina smiles with a hopeful look.
Regina showed the second floor and where they are sleeping in a while, showing them where the game, tech, and media room. Emma and Nardia played foosball right when they saw it, so Regina rolled her eyes. The boys played pool while Regina told them she's going to cook breakfast. Regma followed Regina downstairs to help her cook breakfast in the new large kitchen. Regina showed each place where everything is.
For about two hours or less, Regina and Regma cooked, eggs, waffles, various kinds of fruit, bacon, and sausages with soft sweet bread as well as cinnamon rolls. She laid all of them on the dining table while Regma to get everybody down here with intercom. Everybody ate happily and chatted while laughing and teasing each other. An hour later, Regina wanted the leftovers to be boxed for both Henrys and Hope to take with them. Everyone pitched in, helping to clean the kitchen.
The ringing was going off at the front door, so Regina was confused because she wasn't expecting anybody, so she asked everybody, "Are any of you expecting someone?"
Everybody said no while Emma went to the front door to open, and it appears to be Berta and Razi, "Hello, we just finished late breakfast. Come on in," Emma waved her inside while helped Berta to sit on the couch.
Regina introduced Berta to both Henry while Henry was wondering who this is except the rumors about being mom's mistress. Emma doesn't want to get into the complicated situation of the pregnant baby, so Emma spoke up to explain both Henry, "We are planning to adopt her baby. She is due anytime soon next month."
Berta listened and knowing no one needs to see the situation to make it worse. Hence, she followed Emma's story, "I cannot provide properly for this child, so I signed up the baby adoption and wanted to personally meet the parents who I am giving my baby too."
Regina appreciated Emma to take her side about this specific situation because it's private and personal information. Emma stayed beside Regina, wrapping around her on the couch in the living while everyone sat around watching curiously. Regina became more concerned for Berta's health because she looks pretty bad, so she kept her hands on her belly softly, rubbing and smiling. Berta still in awe of the structure of the house and how different but strangely similar.
Henry realizes why Regina remodeled the house, "I see. That's amazing, mom. I had no idea you were planning to adopt again."
Regina nodded, knowing the question about Henry's tone of his voice, "That is the reason why I changed the house because we needed room for the newborn. The baby will stay with us until it's old enough to sleep upstairs."
Berta listened and thanked Regina, "You finally have a room?"
Regina smiles towards her, "Yes, but at the moment it is empty. I am still trying to decide the theme because I don't know the sex of the baby."
Berta offered an idea, "I have thought about it for a few days, and why don't you do the forest with animals? It can go with a boy or girl. You can paint the tree with animals such as giraffe, lions, birds, monkeys, and elephants."
Everyone thought it was a good idea, so Regina agreed, "You mean Safari nursery decor?
Berta was glad that everyone supported her idea, but remember the paper in her hand from her gynecologist, "Actually, I am here for a reason."
Regina urges her to keep going curious to find the reason why while everyone is carefully listening to Berta. Berta continued showing the paper from her gynecologist, "According to the gynecologist, my pregnancy is heavy bleeding that causes inflammation and the growth of the baby is not developed properly in its lungs that both of us might not survive. She said that we both should already died in our first month. She suggested that I have surgery to safely remove the baby to help to grow and feed properly. It is one of the reasons the baby kept biting because my tube is not feeding as it should. I don't know really, but it has doing to do with my placenta that is heavy bleeding."
Regina and Emma read about the Intrauterine Growth Restriction and other data about the preterm labor pregnancy and the problems found in Berta. Berta frown, "It seems that your magic has been helping as much as it can."
Regina listened but couldn't speak that her child is having problems already, and top of that, Berta actually will die when having surgery. Emma read carefully and gave it to Berta as she spoke, "it said that the baby is smaller than normal. Also, it is not growing inside the uterus at a normal rate. They are recommending C-Section and, afterward, surgery as soon as possible."
Emma without thinking about speaking, but when she looked at Regina, who seems truly wretched that she had never seen before, so she kept herself quiet while trying to comfort Regina.
Regma tapped Nardia's back, "Let's go and check our rooms."
Nardia listened to the tone of her voice, knowing it means to give both of them privacy, so she stood up quietly spoke, "I'm sorry, mom."
Both Henry followed them upstairs to ask more questions, and then they all play the game together.
Regina nodded quietly as all of them left and then redirected to Emma, "I need to talk to the gynecologist as soon as possible."
Emma sighs spoke to give assurance, "The baby, our baby, will be alive. You kept both of them alive as long as you could. This baby still has some fighting spirit."
Berta wanted to talk to Regina in private because she knows Regina worries for both of them, but concurred with Emma softly on her shoulder, "our baby will be fine, Regina."
Regina listened to their reliance but ignored them refocusing on Berta, "What do you want to do?"
Berta pointed at Razi, "Before we both come to a decision, and I want to make sure Razi has a place here."
Razi groaned, "You cannot worry about me, mom. I'll be fine, and I always have figure things out."
Emma offered, "She can have my old house. It is near the town and vacant, and you can have it for free."
Razi doesn't want to take the house from stranger reminding Berta again, "I'll be fine, mom."
Regina forced herself to be composed as she tapped Razi's lap, "its least I can do for you after what your mom has been through, and I promised your mom as well. After you finish to obtain your GED, and then I'll help you get a job."
Berta smiles then redirected to Berta, "Please, only for little awhile until you get back on your feet. If you still don't want the house after you get the job, then Regina can help you look for another place you can buy that you like."
Razi nodded compel to Berta's wish, "Thank you. I appreciate all the help I can get."
Emma beamed, knowing Regina needs privacy, "I'll give you the house key, and you can move in right away." Emma pointed upstairs, "You can go upstairs. I believe the girls are in their rooms, on the left, I think. They will show you the television and game room, or you can read books."
Razi was not expecting that offer because she doesn't feel welcomed by Emma, "I can stay?"
Regina stood up, smiles just for the show, "Of course, Emma is planning to order late pizza as a celebration. You are welcome to stay to eat with them if you want."
Berta still sat on the couch agree because she doesn't want Razi to be alone and bored, "Go ahead, Razi. Regina and I have to go see our doctor to see the possible options, so it'll be a long day for all of us."
Razi understood, so she thanked all three of them and finally left. Regina was glad that she could be alone in private adult conversation. Regina inhaled slowly, facing Berta who her eyes soften in genuine, and then Emma spoke, "I apologize I wasn't welcoming, Berta."
Berta ignored but nodded anyway, still focusing at Regina in an angry tone, "You have your reasons, I'm sure, so don't worry about it."
"I meant it, Berta," Emma pointed out, "I know it seems bad, but Regina will never forgive me if I never gave this a chance. I'm trying to apologize, Berta."
Regina thought it was sweet of Emma to try to make it up as she spoke to Berta, "She means well, Berta."
Berta sighs to herself, "its ok, Emma. You were protecting your wife, so it's water under the bridge."
They all discussed the options, but haven't come to an official decision yet. Regina thought about the room, so she stood up with a sincere smile wanted a distraction from all of this, "want to see the room, and we can choose together."
Emma looked at the time, "Regina, I'll be gone for a bit, but I promise I'll be back soon. I have to shift soon, but I am going to find someone to take my place so that you can go to the hospital with Berta."
Regina listened and told Berta to sit and wait while Regina and Emma talked privately. Emma kept apologizing while kissed on her mouth, "We will get through this."
Regina breathed in worried for her baby as she couldn't think straight, "I am tired of everything, that's all. One disaster after another, so when does it end." Regina needs time to process everything as she composed herself in front of Emma.
Emma doesn't want Regina to give up, so she embraced her, reminding her, "Babe, me and you against the world."
Regina laughs as she kissed Emma, who is trying and never giving up. It's a trait that Regina adores in Emma that is much needed in Regina's life, "always."
Emma grab her badge and gun as she remembered, "Regina, do you think you can somehow have hidden safe by the door to put my gun? I don't want the kids to find this, and it would not be safe for me to leave it in my nightstand."
"I'll work on it," Regina promises as she walked out from their bedroom, sweetly kissed her again, "Stay safe, Emma."
Regina stood watching Emma leave the front door and then held out her hands, so Berta grabbed it with a big smile on her face. Regina wrapped around her and then the teleported to the newborn's empty bedroom.
Regma looked for Regina and then thought they might be in the bedroom, so she walked back upstairs, "mom?"
Regina tilted, while Berta looked through her iPhone for ideas of decor, "What is it, Regma?"
Regma replied, "Hey, mom. All of us are going to the backyard to swim, is that ok?"
Regina nodded, "Of course. Just be careful."
Regma asked, "Is that hot spa in that small pool I saw?"
"Yes, there's the button to turn it on, and you turn to make it hotter with bubbles or less. It is right beside that pool, but pretty hidden. Just remember to turn it off," Regina explained.
Regma thanked her as everybody went to the back to swim and Regina thought how this moment is a perfect and strange coincidence, but wonders why Regma choose these specific moments to leave the house and swim. Regina made a mental note to talk to Regma soon about this.
Berta pointed at the photo of décor that looks like animals are flying with balloons, but Regina said, "it's not very realistic. Do you know what happens if animals hold balloons?"
Berta rolled her eyes, "Regina, it's cute, and remember it's a baby room. You need a little more imagination."
Regina pointed out the door, "Let's leave the imagination to those young adults."
Berta laughs, shooting back, "They wouldn't be able to handle it."
Regina smiles as she thought, no argument there, and then softly spoke still wrapped around her, "I'm sorry, Berta. I shouldn't do that to you."
Berta shook her head, "its ok, Your Majesty. You were doing it for Emma, so it's you I'm not mad with because I know you would never do it unless Emma asked you to do it."
Regina doesn't want her to be mad at Emma, "Emma was trying to protect me from myself, so there's more to it, and Emma has my millions of thanks. She deserves more than I can offer, and I'll always will. She sees things that sometimes I don't see. She saved my life countless times."
Berta brush that off, "I'm just worried for this," rubbing her belly, "everything I've been through would be in vain if newborn didn't survive the C-section while being small and undeveloped."
Regina held back her tears as she thought of newborn in UCI with hooking up tubes and its eyes covered and everything, but composed herself, "I will never let anything happen to our child, I promise Berta."
Berta went to the side in tears instead of front to lean on Regina, as she is consoling Berta while kissed her on the forehead, "I want you to know that I do love you, Berta, but I'm still sorry."
Berta knows that because Regina never wanes for any reason, "Maybe another lifetime?"
Regina laughs at her ideas as she though profoundly, "I guess we'll never know."
Berta returns her iPhone swapping staying close to Regina, still wraps around her and another on her belly, "What about this? It's pretty accurate."
Regina removed her arm from her belly, taking her iPhone, and it looked like a photo of a tree with animals while playing a park, "Absolutely not. It'll be teaching our child that it can bring animals to the park. I don't want to give the child ideas."
Berta rolled her eyes, pointing out, "Do you realize those ideas are already inside?"
"Find another, Berta," giving back her iPhone.
Berta groaned, complaining, "Fine, but the next one. You have to accept it no matter what it is."
Regina agreed, "Third the charm, I promise.
Berta searched intensely and a pretty long time to find the perfect one and saw animals on the train without cage of all kinds, and the giraffe is at the front driving to the forest. It is more vintage with hot air balloons, aircraft, and birds on the light grayish blue sky. She thought this is perfect and very Regina, who is in between vintage and modern because Storybrooke is an old town. Berta, with a broad smile, "This is perfect."
Regina was inspired by the photo, "Actually, it's not that bad. Ok, I approve." Regina waved her hands as it flickered in black smoke on the walls; Regina had one wall painted like a forest, and the other one and half walls train of various kinds of Safari animals. Finally, the far wall is where to put the bed that has nothing on it except grasses, birds, aircraft, and hot air balloons.
Berta waited until the black smoke dissolved, and when it started showing the painted wall, "I love it!"
Regina remains silent while pushing Berta back, so she can add furniture while waving her hand as it appears with one tall and another small dresser. And then added convertible crib that can go down to make it look like a bed when the child gets older after starting walking. It also has a changing table and a rocking chair with a toy chest, but all of them are in smooth white/beige color. Regina explained, "Another time, I'll go to the store to buy toys and picture frames for the room."
Berta took out a stack of photos with a letter of Regina and Berta from the time in Remington community, "Regina, I want you to keep this for our child. I want it to know that you do care about me, and you didn't abandon me, so the child doesn't hold it against you or hold a grudge. You know, at least our child will have a photo of me. This letter will be for when it's of the age of 16."
Regina's heart sunk when she is slowly taking the photos and the letter while looking because they both looked happy while Berta is very perspective like she's a photographer. "We look contented like we don't care a thing in the world."
"I know I was even the time we have together was short," Berta frown, still looking then pointed at one photo of Regina who is reading with glasses looking stern while leaning front of the desk, "this is my favorite of you."
"Why?" Regina asked.
"You never show your true self, and if you look at her, well your eyes in this photo, it looked like you have the weight of the world on your shoulder. I came into your office one day to check on you and that moment I decided to take pictures. You looked beautiful, even in the dark, and you still radiating." Berta kissed her on the cheek affectionately.
Regina had no idea that Berta has been watching her closely, "The book I was reading was about the powers of the gods and the future spells, so the words were small. That's why I had to wear glasses. You see me that way?"
Berta nodded, "The book from Black Queen's castle, I know. I miss it."
Regina started to be confused about how the conversation is going, "miss it?"
"I missed the way you look at me and a few other things," Berta quietly spoke as tears dropped from her eyes.
If Regina had to admit and then she'll say the same, but she won't in millions of years, "I hold those moments close to my heart, Berta."
Berta warmly smiled because she knows the meaning behind those words while looking intently deep into Regina's eyes.
