~ Sept. 1, 1994 ~
George quietly opened his sisters bedroom door. He had already heard Ginny and Hermione go downstairs, so he tiptoed in and closed the door behind him.
Garnet was laying on her back on the cot, a sheet tangled in her legs, while she snored softly.
George smiled down at her, taking in the sight of her, then climbed on to the cot. He kissed her gently and grinned when he felt her kiss back.
He pulled away, "Good morning, love." he said quietly.
Garnet's eyes fluttered open slowly. It took her a minute to fully wake up and realize that George was practically on top of her, while she laid there in nothing but shorts and a tank top. She pulled her sheet up to cover herself.
"George!" she quietly hissed at him, "What are you doing in here?" she looked around to make sure no one else was in the room, then relaxed a little when she realized they weren't.
"I came to tell you it's time to get up." he smirked.
"Oh, is that right?" she propped herself up on her elbows. "No other reason than that?" she bit her bottom lip.
Something came over George, he leaned down and kissed her again, a little roughly this time.
"Mmmph," Garnet fell back on her pillow, grabbing George's collar and bringing him with her.
George stretched his body out over her, his hips resting against her as she bent her knees on either side of him.
Garnet's hands pushed through his hair, pulling him into the kiss deeper.
George's hand slid down her body slowly. When he made it all the way down, he cupped her butt and pulled her into his hardness.
Garnet let out a gasp of surprise.
George panicked, "I'm sorry," he started to climb off of her, but she grabbed his collar and pulled him back down on top of her. "Garnet..." He said breathlessly before she kissed him again.
She broke the kiss. "I didn't say stop."
George looked down at her big beautiful eyes looking up at him, her chest heaving, pink blush tinting her cheeks, her lips starting to swell from their passionate kisses. He smiled at her.
"George?" she said quietly.
"I love you." he said.
Garnet took a deep breath. He hadn't said that to her since the first day he witnessed a seizure.
"I love you too," she replied smiling.
George leaned down, pressing his body against her again, and kissed the base of her neck. He trailed kisses slowly all the way up to behind her earlobe, eliciting a moan from Garnet.
Garnet's hands traveled to the hem of his shirt, pulling it up so she could touch his warm skin.
He ground his hips into her, earning him little whimpers from her. His hand slid up, creeping closer to her breast.
Then there was a knock on the door, and Fred opened it a crack to call in, "Garnet, Mum says it's time to get up."
George and Garnet separated quickly, both panting hard.
"Oh, okay F-Fred, thank you." she said shakily.
There was a pause, "George, Ginny and Hermione are on their way up here to get their trunks, I suggest you come with me." Garnet could hear him grinning on the other side of the door.
George grinned to himself, then looked to Garnet who was smiling as well.
"Go on then," Garnet said.
George smiled, kissed her quick, then went to join his brother.
Garnet took a deep breath and fell back on her cot.
Mr. Weasley had been called to work urgently that morning, so it was quite chaotic getting all the kids to Kings Cross that morning, but they made it, barely.
Now as Fred, George, Garnet, Lee Jordan and a couple others sat in a car on the train, everything seemed to have calmed down.
Any time Fred could get away with it, he'd make teasing remarks about what he could only guess Garnet and George were doing behind closed doors. This was quickly irritating Garnet.
"I hope the Trolley Witch comes 'round soon, I'm starving." Lee Jordan said with a sigh.
Garnet yawned, "Me too, I was running late and didn't get to eat much breakfast this morning."
Fred smirked, "I think George was too busy to eat breakfast as well."
Garnet narrowed her eyes at Fred and shook her head gently, daring him to say something else.
George gave his brother a look, telling him he was creeping awfully close to the line he would regret crossing.
Garnet got up and walked out of the car.
"Seriously, Fred?" George hissed at him.
Fred laughed, "Aw come on, I'm just messing with you two." he smiled.
"It's not funny." George got up to chase after Garnet.
He found her waiting to use the lavatory.
"I'm sorry, Love, I don't know what's got over him." George put his hands around Garnet's waist. "Just ignore him and he'll quit."
Garnet shrugged. "It's one thing to say things to you and I, it's another when others are around." Garnet turned towards him and whispered, "I don't need a reputation as a tart."
"No one would ever think that of you, Garnet, and I'd hex anyone I'd hear even suggesting it." he reassured her and pulled her in for a kiss.
She pulled away and looked up at him, smiling. She ran her hand through his hair.
The First Year that was in the bathroom finally emerged and walked away, however, George and Garnet weren't paying much attention to anyone but each other.
George smiled at his girlfriend, then he saw something out the corner of his eye. He grabbed her wrist gently and saw the bracelet changing colors.
"Bloody hell," Garnet muttered, "I wonder how long..." but she didn't get to finish her sentence, her gaze became unfocused and her face became lax. She was still standing, so George breathed sigh of relief for that. As long as no one tried to bother them as they walked by, it would just look like they're talking.
But of course that was too much to ask for, right?
"Prince," George cringed when he heard Marcus Flint coming from behind him followed by Draco, Crabbe, Goyle and a couple others, "What the bloody hell did you do to your hair?" The lot of them started laughing.
"Piss off Flint, we're talking." George said, hoping they'd just leave.
No such luck.
"Awe, is the happy couple having a spat?" Flint grinned, showing his crooked teeth.
"I said piss off," George growled, still watching Garnet's face for signs her seizure was over.
Malfoy decided to start with him, "I'm surprised she's still talking to you after you abandoned her in the forest the other night."
George round on him, "I didn't abandon her."
Malfoy scoffed, "Well you certainly didn't come back for her, did you?"
He clenched his fists, angrier than he's ever felt before. He wanted to hit him, hard.
Garnet came too and saw Flint, Malfoy and the other Slytherin harassing George.
"George?" she said meekly.
He immediately forgot about Malfoy and his stupid remarks and turned to his girlfriend, who was pale as a ghost. He brushed her cheek gently with the back of his hand.
"You alright?" He whispered, watching her eyes for a sign of distress.
She nodded.
Draco could tell something was going on, but chose to leave it alone for now.
"Come on," he pushed past the couple with his cronies on his heels.
Once they were out of sight, Garnet took a deep breath.
George smiled down at her, "You sure you're alright?" She nodded again. "Then you best get in there before someone else comes along. The kid ahead of you has been gone a while now." he chuckled.
Garnet smacked his arm and disappeared into the toilet.
George crossed his arms and rested against the wall.
Fred approached him, "Hey," he said.
George raised a brow at him, "Hey."
"You two coming back to the car?" he asked.
George nodded, "We got held up." he lowered his voice, "She had a seizure in front of Flint and Malfoy. It was one that she just stands there, so they didn't see anything off with her."
"That's lucky." Fred said, then after a moment asked "Is she still mad at me?"
The door opened and Garnet came out. She took one look at the boys. "Fred." she nodded curtly.
Fred sighed, "Garnet, I'm sorry for being a wanker. I won't tease in front of others again, promise."
Garnet relaxed, but still gave him a stern look.
"Honest, I won't do it again. I hate having a row with you." he looked at her, waiting for her to say something. "Forgive me?"
Garnet rolled her eyes but smiled, "Yeah, I suppose." then she hugged him around the waist.
Fred sighed in relief as he hugged Garnet tight.
After a few moments, George cleared his throat, making Garnet smirk and let go of Fred.
"Calm down," she teased, turning back towards her boyfriend.
Fred decided to torment his brother a bit. He put his arms around Garnet's waist and pulled her back against him , "Geez, I thought we shared everything George?"
Garnet giggled, blushing a bit. Then she noticed the look on George's face. He was not amused at all. His nostrils flared and his jaw clenched, as he stared down his brother. For the first time ever, Garnet was actually afraid he may punch his twin.
Garnet quickly pulled Freds hands off of her waist and wrapped her arms around George's neck. "Hey! Look at me." she said, bringing his attention to her. "Don't get your knickers in a twist, he's just fooling around."
"Was I?" Fred laughed, making George look at him again.
Now Garnet turned towards Fred, "Knock it off, Fred, he doesn't think that's funny."
Fred rolled his eyes, "Lighten up, George, it was a joke."
"It's not funny when you're joking about sharing my girlfriend, like she's some sort of tart." George growled, fists clenched.
Garnet's whole body flushed with heat when she realized what his joke suggested, eyes wide, she looked around to make sure no one overheard what he just said.
"George, relax, she's my friend, nothing more." Fred wasn't smiling anymore either.
"Stop it! Both of you!" Garnet hissed, getting more and more upset.
"Garnet," George started, but Garnet shook her head, cutting him off.
"No, it was a joke," she looked at Fred, "Don't be egging on your brother."
"Sorry!" Fred held his hands up, but frowned at his brother, "My apologies, this third wheel won't joke around anymore." He turned and headed back.
"Fred!" Garnet felt horrible now. She ran and grabbed his hand. He stopped but wouldn't look at her. "Do we really make you feel like the third wheel?" she was close to tears.
He sighed, "You don't, sweetheart." he turned and smiled at her. Fred looked up at George, who was standing there, a look of confusion on his face. Fred looked back down at Garnet, "Just give me a little time." he whispered to her, "Still adjusting to you having more of my brothers time than I do." He kissed her on the forehead and walked back to the car.
A tear slid down Garnet cheek as his words resonated in her.
George stepped up behind her.
"George," she choked a sob.
"I know... let's give him a little time." he put his arm around her shoulder and kissed her head.
"You two are a Dynamic Duo." she gasped, "And I'm getting in the middle."
"Shh, no, don't get upset." George hugged her.
"We need to fix this George." Garnet closed her eyes. George nodded in agreement.
The Start of Term Feast was well underway. Garnet sat with Adrian, but kept glancing up at the Gryffindor table, where George and Fred were sitting next to each other. They barely spoke to each other when they were back in the train car. This made Garnet's heart hurt. They were barely speaking now.
Dumbledore stood to give his usual announcements, but they were very different from past years.
"There will be no Quidditch this year." Dumbledore stated then paused, giving way to an eruption of commotion from upset students.
Fred and George were the loudest of all. Garnet took a deep breath and smiled as they rallied together.
As Dumbledore continued, a ragged old man came out of the shadows.
He was introduced as Alastar Moody, new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
Garnet watched as Fred and George kept commenting to each other. She was sure things would be alright.
She looked around confused when everyone started talking at once again.
"What?" she asked Adrian.
"Weren't you paying attention?" he grinned, "The Triwizard Tournament is being held here!"
"Triwizard Tournament?" Garnet turned her attention to the front and listened.
"On October 30th, we will be playing host to the delegates from Beauxbaton and Durmstrang." he continued to explain the event. Finally, the part everyone seemed to be waiting to hear about, "There will be safety measures in place. No Witch or Wizard under the age of seventeen may enter." With that the Twins starting booing, followed by some others.
Garnet laughed. Adrian groaned. "I'm going to miss the cut off by a month!"
She shook her head. Dessert started, and she stood to join her boyfriend.
"There's got to be a way to beat it," she heard Fred and George conspiring as she approached, but stopped. She thought about everything that happened on the train. They just started talking again. She didn't want to interrupt them, so she backed away. Harry looked up and smiled at her, but frowned questioningly when she didn't sit down.
She put her finger to her lips and shook her head. Waving at him she turned and walked out of the Great Hall.
She walked around the corner and came up on Professor Moody and Severus.
"I'm keeping both eyes on you," Moody muttered to Snape, "Once a Deatheater, always a Deatheater." Garnet felt like her breath was gone, her jaw dropped.
Snape's expression was impassive, until he saw Garnet.
Moody's eye swiveled to see her, "What are you gawking at?" He turned towards her.
Garnet was afraid, but she tried not to show it. She held her head high. "I wish to speak to Professor Snape, my Head of House, please."
Moody looked between the pair. He nodded, then whispered something at Snape as he walked away.
"Yes, Miss Prince?" he said.
Garnet looked around and made sure no one else was around.
"A Deatheater?!" She hissed at him, disgusted.
"Do not take that tone with me, young lady." he said forcefully, "That was a long time ago, and I renounced it."
"You never told me." She whispered. "You kept something like that from me?"
"It wasn't something you needed to know." he raised a brow.
Garnet's head swam, "Were you one of the ones torturing the Muggle Farmer and his family at the Quidditch World Cup?"
Snape took a step closer to her, "You were there? I had read the Weasley's were there, but I didn't know you went."
"I was staying with them since middle of August, when Dad left for Paris. He had bought me a ticket and I went with them." she said.
"But you got out of there alright?" he looked her up and down.
Garnet took a step back, "I've got a decent sized scab on my left shoulder from a run in with a tree, but other than that I'm fine. Malfoy had found me before I froze to death."
Severus nodded, "Garnet..." he started, but she shook her head.
"A Deatheater..." she said. "I never would have thought you could..." She turned and headed for the Common Room.
Professor Snape stood there, knowing he now had to earn the trust back of a headstrong teenager that was as stubborn as her mother.
