"Akiyama Miryo, huh? Should I remember that?" Already, Yuki doesn't like this girl with fiery red eyes. She wants to hurry and get back to her class, but she appeared out of nowhere and is now stopping her from doing just that. Akiyama gives her a smirk, standing up straight and cocks her hips.

Black, tight sleeveless sports top, elbow guards, black fingerless gloves hidden under a pair of red gauntlet-claws. Black belt covered by a black piece of material reaching from hip to upper thigh around the back of her waist with red patterns decorating the edges. Underneath is a red piece of silk reaching to her knees. Black mini shorts and leather boots that ends above her knees. She sticked her targets on her right breast, right waist and left abdomen.

"Might as well, right? I told you I'm gonna take you down," Akiyama speaks casually and in a laidback but confident manner.

"Not a chance," Yuki retorts. "I'll take you down first."

"That so? 'Kay then, only one way to find out!" Akiyama rushed forward, a straight dash towards Yuki. Yuki took a step back, a stance, and swings the staff to the side. Akiyama jumped to dodge. She stabs her claws downwards. Yuki countered with her staff and throws Akiyama behind her, turning around for a new attack.

When Akiyama attacked again, Yuki flew up and swings her sword down, blade shattering to many thin, one inch long shards. Akiyama's wings appears and folds in front of her before it hardens. The ice bursts on impacts, freezing her wings. Akiyma tried to unfurl her wings but was unable to due to the ice, so she used more force to break it, but Yuki was nowhere to be seen.

Then, a presence from her left, Akiyama turned to see Yuki, sword in hand, as if she was about to stab. She puts her hands in front of her, but Yuki wasn't about to stab her. In her other hand, an orange ball. Akiyama jumped away but she was too late; Yuki had pushed the ball to her target, lighting it up.

That was one of her ultimate move; Ice Rain. It was meant to be a distraction. It worked well against Akiyama since, not only blocking with her wings practically blinds her, but the ice also froze the wings, buying Yuki just a few second to execute her next move. She resented that she's not fast enough because Akiyama saw through and tried to dodge, even if it failed.

The other took a few steps away from Yuki, grin wavering and eyes hardening. "You're good," she says to Yuki. Yuki doesn't reply anything as she morphed her sword to a staff, still in a stance and slightly breathless. Irked by the silence, Akiyama rushed forward again after that, wings fully open. Yuki breaks her staff into two and morphed it to two rough-edged daggers. Their weapons clashed against each other, pushing back and forth. Akiyama still has that annoying smirk on her face, meanwhile Yuki has a scowl. She wants to apprehend her quickly.

So Yuki flipped her dagger down and slashed her left knife across Akiyama's face, who leaned her head sideways, the same direction as Yuki's dagger. Yuki just barely missed. There was a cut on the corner of Akiyama's right eyebrow. Then she realized Akiyama had grinned, and her right claw is retracted. In her hand, an orange ball.

"My turn!" Akiyama reached out with the ball in hand. Yuki swings her left leg and aims it at her head. Akiyama noticed and pulled her hand back to cover her face, successfully blocking Yuki's attack. She grabbed Yuki by her ankle, forcing her to stand on one leg, while she switched the ball to her left hand and aimed it at Yuki's target.

Yuki grunts, right foot flying up at incredible speed, propelled by her wind. She kicked Akiyama by her chin. The impacts made a loud 'thud' sound, followed by a pained yelp and Akiyama losing her balance and her grip on Yuki's ankle. Yuki grabbed the ball Akiyama held and pushed it on the target on her abdomen that immediately lit up.

Yuki jumped away soon after Akiyama hits the ground, shards flying up towards Yuki However, something wraps around her body in a tight coil, restraining her. She was then slammed to the ground, hard, enough to knock the air out of her lungs. She coughed out a grunt, neck arching back to see who was holding her.

There was another girl kneeling down at a safe distance, with long hair colored yale blue that ombred black towards the tip. Her eyes are droopy, black and tired, and it appears she has seven black, smoke-like tails. Two of them are stretched out and it's what's holding Yuki down. She can't wiggle out of the restraint.

"Lock us in, Youmi!" Yuki snaps her head at Akiyama's voice. She's already back on her feet and closing in on Yuki, the corner of her lips dripping blood. Yuki grunted, trying to loosen the tail as the surrounding area swirls with black and finally, surrounding them completely in a tall black tube.

Akiyama approaches Yuki with a ball in her hands. But she looks absolutely pissed now. When she gets close, Yuki puffed her cheeks and blows wind as hard as she could, sending Akiyama flying away. Her tongue feels numb. Then she risked freezing the tails - thankfully it worked - until it's stiff enough for her to easily break.

Yuki scrambled up and flew towards the other girl, Youmi, and swings her sword down at her. Youmi's tail gathered in front of her and made a shield. Yuki wasn't able to freeze it before she was thrown back, Akiyama landing a hard kick to her stomach and sending her back to the ground. Yuki gasped at the impact.

Yuki rolled away as Akiyama shot down projectiles at her, but that's about all she could do. Along with Youmi's quirk, they're on full offense. Yuki can only dodge and counter the simultaneous attacks. Both Akiyama and Youmi are out of her range. What to do next? Try to escape?

But Akiyama kept attacking, not giving Yuki a single chance to even think. Pushing Yuki back with her constant attack along with Youmi's quirk. Locked in with no way out, cornered and pushed back, Yuki tries to form a plan. Since the minimal person to defeat are two people, this could be the perfect chance for her. Akiyama already has two targets lit up and at least one of Youmi's weakness has been found out.

Yuki swung her sword to the shadowy wall behind her, freezing it. The ice spreads out on the wall and Yuki makes a run for it. However the ground in front of her splits open, a giant, shadowy hand appearing from the cracks and grabbed her. It slammed her to the ground multiple times, and one more time as it lets go her body.

Yuki coughed and groaned, her whole body aches as she tried to get back up to her feet.

"You're rather stubborn, aren't you?" Yuki grumbles, voice hoarse.

"Glad you noticed." Akiyama replies.

Yuki huffed, standing up, and Akiyama follows her move.

"This is bothersome."

'Time to test my limit with Mirror Mist.'

"I'm ending this. Now."

Yuki stabbed her sword into the ground, pushing it down as the blade is melting and spreading out, covering the ground in ice. She spared a glance at Akiyama, who looked surprised as she jumped away, wings flapping. She glanced behind her and Youmi is climbing up the wall with her tail. Yuki huffed. Their effort is wasted.

When her sword is gone, turned to ice sheets covering the ground, Yuki slams her palm on the ground, and the ice evaporates, forming thick, cold, and glimmering mist that quickly covers the area. She looks up to Akiyama who has a panicked look on her face before the mist engulfs Yuki. Akiyama kept her balance in the air, wide eyes looking at Youmi who has a confused pout. Suddenly, the mist zooms towards Youmi, swallowing her whole.

"Youmi!" Akiyama shouts her name, flying into the mist but nearly face-planting into the wall. Youmi isn't there.

Explosions and shouts are heard outside the walls. Akiyama paid it no mind and strains to listen to what's inside the walls instead. It's silent. No sound of clashes or grunts. It's just dead silence- no. Sizzling. Above her. Akiyama looks up to see the wall dissipating.

"Shit!" She cursed; Youmi is eliminated.

Akiyama's wings disappears and she dropped down into the mist. She immediately shivered. It was so cold. And it suddenly clicked into her mind; Youmi and her Quirk is weak against ice. That must be Yuki's plan. Which means it's a good thing that she deactivated her Quirk. Frozen wings would prove to be a hinder in battle as it would weigh her down.

Akiyama prepares her claws. Taking a careful step forwards. Eyes darting around. Ears straining. Cold. It's so goddamn cold. Her breathing starts to shake, white puffs of air leaving her nose. This is bad, this is bad, this is bad-

Akiyama gasped and sliced her claws, choking and coughing after she inhaled the frost-bitten air. There was someone in front of her. There was someone- she saw a shadow- no, a reflection. She saw black hair and clothes. It was right up against her face. It was her? Then where's Yuki?

"Checkmate."

Akiyama whipped around at the cold voice on her ear, but the mist wraps around her, sticking to her skin and quickly forming heavy ice on her, literally freezing her. As the mist thinned and her body gets heavier with ice, Akiyama sees Yuki in front of her. Her whole right cheek is red as if burned, along with a good chunk on her neck and left shoulder. Her left hand is no different. In her right hand, an orange ball. One that she pressed onto Akiyama's last target.

"So, you've passed. You finished on number 63. Hurry along to the reception room, please." Yuki's targets lit up and a voice spoke through it.

"...well then, looks like I lost." Akiyama grumbles.

"Yeah." Yuki nods, holds out her unburnt hand. "Hold still."

The ice on Akiyama cracked and floats towards Yuki's outstretched hand. She watched silently with a scowl, then looked up to Yuki's face. Her brows are furrowed, concentrating. But maybe holding her pain too? She notes how her hand is shaking, and her left hand is twitching.

"Ahh, Miryo, you lost." Akiyama looks behind Yuki. Youmi is walking towards them. Her walls had already broken down.

"Shut up, I know already." Akiyama grumbles.

"You two did great. I was overwhelmed." Yuki compliments them.

"Could've done better." Akiyama pouts.

"You were too confident." Says Youmi.

"And that's a bad thing?!" Akiyama hollered, getting hissed at by Yuki that told her she shouldn't move.

"You were too cocky." Yuki answers.

Akiyama scowls as the last of of ice is removed. The ice had formed a key that Yuki grabbed and pocketed.

But eventually, she smiled.

"That was a good one." Akiyama says.

Yuki nods in agreement. "It definitely was."

As Yuki bids her goodbye to the duo, Akiyama called her when she was walking away.

"Do you happen to have a sister? A twin, maybe?" Akiyama asks.

"...what?" Yuki furrows her eyebrows.

"At our workplace, we have a regular that looks just like you. But her hair's shorter, like, chin length. Has a braid behind her. And... the tips are orange, I think? Her eyes are like, mixed dark blue and turquoise." Akiyama turns to Yumi who nods in approval.

"I... no, I'm an only child." Yuki answers. "Where- where do you work?"

"Palgong tea, Yokohama branch. Do you want the address?" Youmi offers.

After exchanging the address, they separated to a different side of the arena. Yuki covered her exposes skin thinly, not wanting to waste any more ice. What was Akiyama saying? A sister? A twin? Could it really be true? These questions runs through her mind and she leaves the arena.

The reception is already crowded when Yuki came in. Of course, she finished on number 63. Yuki looks around the room, spotting some familiar faces of her classmates. But not all of them. Not yet. Midoriya isn't there yet. Yuki can only hope for the best.

Yuki grabbed a glass of water and gulps the liquid down, sighing contently after her thirst is quenched. She turns her head to look for a seat, and instead sees Todoroki. Of course he'd already be here. Yuki's legs moved, and before she knows it, she stood before Todoroki.

"Shimokaze," Todoroki greets as he stood up, "here, sit down."

"I'm fine, but thanks." Yuki shakes her head. But Todoroki was having none of it. He moved to the side slightly and pulled her to sit down.

"Did you overuse your quirk?" Todoroki asks.

Yuki froze for a split second, then nods. "How did you know?"

Todoroki points his fingers to his own face, circling his right cheek. Yuki went up and touch her cheek, feeling a sting under the cold ice. She guesses that it's probably not covering as much as she intended it. She sighed, and slumped in her seat, shaking her head. "It's alright."

"Here," Todoroki outstretched his his right hand. "Maybe you can use my ice to recover."

"Will it work?" Yuki stares at him expectantly, but Todoroki shrugged. Hesitantly, Yuki reaches out and rests her left hand on his right. She shivered violently when Todoroki's hand began to emits cold mist and Yuki could feel his ice creeping up her hand, arm, spreading throughout her body. "Feels weird."

"But it works." Todoroki shrugs.

Yuki nods, slightly tightening her grip on Todoroki's hand. The burning feeling behind her ice skin is slowly disappearing as it thickens. Todoroki could physically see it; her cheek and hand that was a dark shade of pink slowly disappears to a very, very pale gray, nearly white.

"That's enough, thank you." Yuki pulls her hand away and hide it beneath her right hand, placing them over her lap. Todoroki nods and looks at his palm. There's a lingering cold on his palm, where Yuki had held him. Cold. Yuki could never be warm, could never feel warmth. A barrier between them.

"Do you remember what warmth feels like?" Todoroki suddenly asks.

Yuki blinks up at him.

"No, nevermind. You don't have to-" "I remember." Yuki cuts him off. Todoroki nods slowly.

"It's faint, but I remember. Before my quirk developed. It was... hm, it's hard to explain. It feels... comforting. I feel very open to the world. If that makes sense." Yuki explains.

"And now?" Todoroki asks gently.

Yuki takes a moment to think.

"Cold. I feel trapped and I can't get out."
