Chapter 53

Tom was insatiable. He had her against the door, on his work desk and now here they were, in their bed. He sucked on her hipbone and then bit her hard. Minerva tightened her hold on his hair. "Fuck me."

"One aims to please." He whispered and pulled her legs to his shoulders. Minerva laughed a bit and then tried to grasp him. She came with his name on her mouth. Minerva sighed when he rested on her breasts. "Do you like our new house?"

"It's rather pretty." She said and combed her fingers through his hair. It was a hot summer day. They decided to stay in Scotland. Minerva finished her duties with Hogwarts and went home to a fully furnished home. Tom worked on their home since the seminar. He was adamant that it would be ready for summer. He refused to use magic and instead hired contractors to work which posed a very difficult situation. Hogsmeade and Hogwarts were spelled to look like ruins. The places repelled muggles and one of the crew always attempted to leave the house.

Minerva and Tom met almost every day. They went to the theater in London or walked around Hogsmeade. They married both through muggle and magical means. Minerva was surprised when he presented her with a ring a month after they rekindled their friendship.

"I told you I want marriage both muggle and magical." He said and slipped a beautiful yet simple engagement ring. It was not a diamond ring. Tom gave her a simple golden band with a sizeable ruby.

"It will look very pretty with all your tartan clothes." He teased her. Minerva kissed him quickly.

"It's beautiful." She looked at it again and kissed him. "It is from the Prince's vault. It belonged to Ophelia Prince. She was the only Gryffindor in the family. She married one of my father's great uncles. They were said to be very happy."

Minerva smiled, "I don't care."

Tom laughed and kissed her soundly, "I know you don't. Let's do it today. Let's go to Gretna Green."

Minerva chuckled but nodded. They were married that night after an hour wait. "I have made an honest woman out of you now." He played with the buttons of her beige short dress.

"I will work on the ministry license this week. We'll be magically wed by next Saturday." He promised her. Minerva nodded and did not think too much of it.

She promised herself not to overthink things with Tom anymore. She spent a year being hopelessly miserable without him. She did not want to spend another day fighting with him.

Albus married them. It was hasty, Tom could not secure the officiant. "He's got dragon pox. I'm sorry Minnie." He said with a frown.

Minerva smiled but did want to get married that day, "what are the requirements?"

"Old and prone to magical illnesses?" Tom smirked and kissed her belly while looking up at her. He was always touching her, as if she would disappear.

"Silly." She kissed his forehead. "I think that Albus could do it. He's a Wizengamot warlock."

"So am I." Tom frowned.

"Yes you are but you also happen to be the groom." She said and laughed when he moved his hands to her arse.

"You ask him." He said and looked up. So Minerva did. She dragged him to Albus' office.

"Headmaster." She said once they entered the office. Tom had very negative memories about this office. He remembered it differently but the desk and the portraits gave him the same anxiety that he felt when Bilbo was killed. Minerva could feel it pouring off of him.

"Minerva, Mr. Snape." The headmaster said affably.

"Can you marry us?" Minerva asked quickly.

Her mentor nodded, "I certainly can. I assume Mr. Snape has all the licenses."

Tom showed him the paperwork. "Very well. Shall we proceed?"

"Not here." Tom said immediately.

"The lake, by the old tree." Minerva said before Tom said something rude.

She took the two men. Tom frowned around the darkness and lit his wand and waved it, there were dancing golden lights around them. Minerva grabbed his hands.

Albus said the words. "I promise." Tom said immediately after Albus asked him the words.

Minerva smiled, "I promise." She said. Albus touched his wand to their joined hands and silvery lines bound them.

"You may kiss your bride." Tom kissed her gently and smiled.

"May you be very happy." Albus said and left them. He kissed her cheek. "I am very happy for you."

Tom and her went to a hotel that night. Minerva smiled at the memory of what they did. She got to keep her maiden name. "I don't care as long as you and I are officially married." He said while licking her left breast.

Minerva felt happy about her decisions. She felt happier when they met her parents. Minerva wrote to them to tell them of the happy news. Her parents welcomed them to her childhood home.

Tom charmed them. Her mother appreciated his quick wit and remarks about her beauty and assured that Minerva must have inherited her good cooking skills as well as her way with magic. Minerva was a terrible cook and so was Tom. Her father enjoyed the fact that Tom looked besotted with her and told her that he would always take care of her. "Not that she needs me at all. Minerva is a far better than I ever could be." Her father took pride in that. Minerva knew that it was a lie. Tom was an excellent wizard, more powerful and a better duelist. He however chose to hide behind his ministry post. "I choose intellect Minnie."

"Minnie and I are going to live in Hogsmeade. You are more than welcome to drop by whenever you desire." He said as they said goodbye.

"You did well Minerva. He's a Prince." His mother said while she said her goodbyes. "That ring is beautiful."

Minerva kissed her mother goodbye and apparated with her husband. Tom grinned all the time now. Minerva had to agree she was in a perpetual good mood as well.

"I thought we could see my parents next week. They are in Costa Rica." Tom said as they lounged naked in bed.

Minerva nodded, "It sounds like a nice idea. We'll make a holiday out of it." She said while nuzzling his neck.

Tom always left early to work but managed to be home by 4:30 PM and did not bring much work home. Minerva slept in every day. Mopsy and Bapsy cleaned and cooked for her. Minerva spent her days reading and lesson planning for September. She received the first year names and also planned the visits. Tom found the list very interesting. "How do you track magical ability? Are you in charge of that?"

"No, it's the sorting hat. He tells them to Albus and he crafts a list. I get the list and find the addresses through the Improper Use of Magic Department." She said one evening while they were resting.

"Can I go with you?" he asked her innocently.

"No, you may not." She said determined to not give into him.

Tom nodded, "fine, I will not tell you about the new laws I am helping create."

Minerva laughed, "you love to brag."

Tom attacked her middle and made her laugh while tickling and biting her neck.

Minerva sometimes believed that his parents were truly dead. It was easier than to think that they were alive and looked their age. Well, at least Mr. Snape did. Mrs. Snape looked like she was one of her seventh years.

"Oh sweetheart, you look great." Mrs. Snape hugged her husband and smiled at her. "I am so happy to see you again. My you look so grown up now." Minerva found it so strange to relate to them but Tom fit into his role as their child.

Mr. Snape led them to their home. It was near the rain forest. Minerva loved the country and their adventures. They had her call them Severus and Hermione by the third day. She laughed and danced with Tom when they had a gathering in the nearby town.

She reached for some drinks when Severus handed her one. "You are good for him."

"Thank you." She smiled at the older man who looked like he could be her slightly older brother.

"Don't hurt him." He said and left to join Hermione.

Minerva looked at Tom and drank her punch. She joined him on the makeshift dance floor. "I love you." She told him and kissed him openly.

Tom caressed her face, "I love you so much more." He said and Minerva felt so safe. She was immensely happy with him.

The Snapes were gracious hosts and let them sleep in the following day. Minerva went down to the kitchen and found Hermione drinking some tea.

"I hear you two will spend Christmas in Scotland." Hermione began.

"Mrs. Snape." Minerva began to defend herself.

"Oh no dear, you mustn't think that I am reproaching you." The other woman said. "I only ask you to make sure he opens his gifts. Sev and I were prepared. We bought him a few things." Hermione went away and came back with three wrapped gifts.

"Thank you." Her mother in law said and asked her to hide them in her trunk.

Minerva and Tom bid their goodbyes after a week, "take care of yourselves. Remember to eat and make sure to send pictures. We love pictures." Hermione said as they hugged Tom goodbye.

They were on their way back to England on an aircraft. "Sometimes it hurts to look at them. Mum looks younger than you and in a few years. I will look older than dad."

Minerva kissed his hands, "I know you are looking into time travel. Tom, I don't think it's a good idea."

"How do you know?" He asked.

"You talk in your sleep." She said while resting her head on his shoulder. "It isn't healthy. Your father has not found anything. If anyone could find something it would be him." Minerva said quietly.

"Give me another month. I will drop it if I don't find anything." He promised.

Tom did not find anything. There were no initiatives in the ministry nor any documentation in Hogwarts, not the library or the come and go room.

Their first Christmas together was magical. They visited with her parents on Christmas morning. Malcolm brought a girl. She was in the family way. Her father almost had a stroke. Mum helped him but winked at the girl. She wanted grandchildren. Isobel hoped that Minerva would be the one to give her a grandchild but it was not to be.

Her parents asked her after her fifth anniversary. Robert and his wife were expecting. "Tom and I do not want children."

"Why?" Her father asked.

"Our love is enough for one another." She said. Her mother frowned. "Your children would be brilliant."

"Tom and I are in agreement. No children." She finished and kissed them goodbye.

Minerva and Tom went away for their tenth year anniversary. His parents were bag packing through the Andes and would not be available to welcome them that summer. Minerva and Tom understood. They liked to spend time with them but the Snapes were far too outdoorsy for their taste. Tom always went back home with a sad smile that would not go away for weeks. Minerva and Tom were almost forty and did not appreciate that much time outdoors. Minerva did not think of hiking and frostbite as ways to spend one's summer. They went to Spain and loved every single minute of it.

Minerva had to go in earlier that summer and decided to visit her parents. She apparated to their town and walked to their home when she saw him. Dougal looked nice. She expected her heart to break but instead she found herself smiling, especially when he saw that he had a teenage son who helped him load one of the carts.

She visited her parents for an hour. They were older now. Father looked spry for his age but his mind was not as sharp as before. Mum looked well. Her parents took care of their grandchildren with much affection. Minerva had three nieces and two nephews. Linda, Mary, Cressida, Robert and Gregor. All under ten and all magical. Linda would begin her first year that September. She would be a fine Ravenclaw, they all knew it.

Minerva and Tom babysat from time to time. She thought she would see the longing behind his eyes but she never did. He was always happy to be with her and only her. She loved him for that.

She decided to cut her visit short and visit him at the ministry. Tom passed laws left and right. All pro muggle born. He looked his years, there were a few grey hairs here and there now. Minerva made her way into his office. "Madame Snape." The secretary said.

"Professor McGonagall, Madam Snape was my late mother in law." She said as she breezed past her.

Tom smiled at her. "Minnie what are you doing here?"

She warded the door and kissed him silly, "I love you and I am taking you home."
