Note: Hello all! Time to revisit a past creation of Light's in a sense. For what exactly, I can't tell just yet, but rest assured, it will serve an importance later, though not in the way the good doctor had intended. As well as by a group of people that don't exactly mean anything well for him or any of the other characters.

I've been super sick lately, first a head cold, then a stomach virus (I've been unable to keep anything down), yet I thought I should at least put something out after so long. I'll try to get the other parts put out as soon as I can.

That said, hope you enjoy!

Episode 3-Hijack-Part 1

Mega Man © of Capcom

"From the sound of it, everything's been sorted out."

"I suppose you can say that."

"Suppose? This is too important to simply rely on a 'suppose'."

The room went silent, the two men locking eyes with each other, all the while the single woman stationed in the darkened space surveyed both of them closely.

"So…you sure about this?" the thin, rather lanky man questioned, clearly unnerved at what had just been declared to him.

"You said it yourself, they're planning on transporting it to another holding area tonight?" the other man questioned back, the thinner of the two nodding in confirmation. "Then you know as well as I do that this has to be performed, TONIGHT." He stated firmly. "Otherwise, we'll never have a shot at this."

"Just…I still don't entirely understand." The thinner man sighed. "I mean…doesn't this somewhat contradict our message?"

"What do you mean?" the woman with the men asked, going over to him.

"Well…our message is against things like this. How it's corrupting and causing more harm than good. Yet here we are, trying to take and make use of the very same technology."

"No, you misunderstand." She told him. "We are against the ever-increasing expansion of AI, and the dangers of it, as well as how it is growing out of hand. Our use of this machine is by human use only, not supposedly 'self-thinking' machines." She affirmed. "We are NOT extremists completely against technology. We are merely against 'them'." She brushed some hair out of his face, cupping his cheek tenderly. "Trust me, I had reservations about this before too. Indeed, those uninformed will be quick to point out our supposed 'hypocrisy', but bear in mind, it only affirms our message. Plus, you can't deny that our message will ultimately bring opposition. Opposition courtesy of 'them'."

He sighed. "But, they can't- "

"They can dismantle and render our means of defense useless, as well as restrain us. If they cause no bodily harm or any direct, life threatening injuries, the Laws will not stop them from completing their duties. There are ways the rules can be bent, that's how Wily's been able to get away with using 'them' for so long without any of the Laws technically being 'broken' in a sense. And look how well that turned out for everyone." He was silent at that. "Nothing is going to happen unless someone holds those like him and others accountable. Those such as Light, while not intending to, are part of the problem. And if no one is willing to deal with the problem, then it's high time someone speak for the ones that truly matter. The ones that take priority over a bunch of soulless, mindless, pieces of scrap that have done far more harm than good." She drew closer to him, lips just barely making contact. "And you shall be the one to bring us closer to that. Think of the lives you'll save, what you shall bring to the surface so no one can deny it anymore."

He was quiet for a good moment, the stillness in the air growing unbearable for him. "…you sure about this?"

"Positive." She soothed, then giving him a gentle, yet firm kiss that had initially started as a peck, yet ultimately developed into more. How long they stayed like that, he knew not, yet he embraced the warmth it provided. It was only when the coldness of her parting came did he come back to the present. "There are only a few of us now, but believe me, we have others that follow this cause. Not just here, but everywhere." She assured. "The state, let alone this country, is far from the only place that this issue has touched. Our networks have been established; we just need our big breakthrough to the world in order to fully get people thinking."

"But what about…well…you know, those like-"

"Like the Blue Bomber?" she interpreted, he in turn nodding. "All the more reason to get this done and done right. Think of it: if he, or some other like him, were to catch and arrest us so easily, then what worth would it do? We need this invention of Light's to combat and deal with such things when the issue arises. Like I said, opposition WILL occur."

"But…it's not as if he's in the same league as any of those Wily's got under him. Have you forgotten that? If not for him, then things would've been far worse than- "

"I'm fully aware." She admitted, then sighing, regrettably. "But that is what we stand for. Things SHOULDN'T have to be this way. And like it or not, Mega Man, along with those like him, good intention or not, are part of the problem. And should he…. or rather, when he gets in our way." She sighed again. "We WILL have to act accordingly."

"…do we have to?" he asked, biting down on his lip.

"As she said, it's an unfortunate necessity." The other man agreed. "Unfortunate, but if we SHOULD run into him…then we must do what we can."

The room went silent again, the tension and discomfort in the room quite unbearable for the lankier man. Still…he couldn't deny that both of his comrades were correct. Unfortunate as it was…they had come too far now. And if they were to go forward…then, as they said, come hell or high water, they would have to persist. No matter what. "...I've already got the uniforms for you two." He then said. "And Jason's already going to be our cover."

"Along with some lovely folks in higher places." The other man confirmed. "Far as I'm concerned, you've done your part." He then looked out the window, seeing the setting sun. "Now it's time for us to do ours."

The room fell silent yet again, though it seemed that all agreed at what needed to be done. It was too late to go back now, especially on something as important as this.

Still, there was one issue left unattended to.

"I've yet to hear on how you're brother's been doing as of late." The woman told the thin man, he in turn somewhat taken aback by this question.

"He's…doing well. Well enough, all things considered." He answered. "He should be getting back to work soon, assuming he wants to."

"Wants to?"

"It's…complicated." He told her. "I've talked to him little due to being busy with all this, but he's been saying some…odd stuff."

"Be specific." She answered. "What classifies as 'odd'?"

"Like…saying how none of this would've happened if they were better prepared. If they had the means to actually fight against these damned machines."

"If they weren't around to begin with?" she cut in, he in turn going quiet. "He still has my number, right?"

"Yes. Why?" he then grew nervous.

"Relax." She urged him. "I wouldn't give us away just like that, I'm no fool. Besides," she paused. "It's not as if we would just let anyone in that could potentially expose us. And even if they did back out…well, they wouldn't get the chance."

He froze. "You…you haven't- "

"Oh God, no!" she chuckled at this. "Surely you know me better than that!" she continued to laugh at this. "Besides, we're doing this with the intent to protect and preserve human life. Even if Wily's bots haven't led to any deaths yet, their actions have taken more than a few people to the hospital. Such as your older brother, if I may be so bold." He couldn't argue with that. "No matter what anyone may say, we have human life as our priority, we only want to educate those we've sworn to protect. Both innocents, and those that, intentionally or not, add to the problem." She put a hand on his shoulder, gently massaging it. "It'll be fine. We three may only be here, but there's a lot more of us than there are against. They just don't know it yet."

He was still silent, but ultimately, nodded in agreement with her, taking her by the cheek, gently. "You always know what to say."

"I know." She admitted, not denying it. Leaning forward, she kissed him, the two locked in the embrace for how long, no one could say. Their superior didn't even exist in this moment, continuing in this until it seemed that the moon hung high in the sky.

Elsewhere

He didn't even resist it, he flopped right onto the couch, releasing a low sigh of exhaustion.

"So, how'd it go being part of a superhero team?" a feminine voice questioned, the cerulean machine rolling his equally colored eyes.

"It's NOT a superhero team." Mega Man told his sister. "Besides, I haven't met anyone save for Tomahawk and Mr. Olson."

Roll huffed at learning this. "You're right, that's no team at all." She said. "Why hasn't he introduced you to anyone else yet?"

"Either he's going to or they're busy." Mega Man answered. "Bear in mind, Tomahawk Man helps run the Historical Society with Mr. Olson, so it's guaranteed that the other members have duties outside of the WRA." His expression then lost any sense of humor, Roll not exactly caring for what she saw.

"You're bound to find more of the Robot Masters." She assured. "Those guys are total boobs, even some of the smarter of them can't stay hidden forever." Even if said boobs had nearly taken her head off more than a handful of times, yet she found no need (or want) to mention such a fact. "Same thing goes for Wily too. If there's someone even more of a boob than them, it's the guy that made them all."

Well…not ALL of them. Yet if anything, he could agree with Roll on that. Say what you will about the balding madman, he was far from the most subtle of individuals. So, he would leave SOME sort of trail behind. He had to. At least, he could only hope.

"Anyway, I want to get to know your new best friend better." Roll told him. "From what I saw, he's got quite the figure on him."

"Roll!"

"In fact, next time I see him, I'm gonna let him know just how TANTILIZING he is. Not to mention how much I LOVE deep, husky voices-"

"You wouldn't dare!"

"What? My bro FINALLY gets himself some teammates, and I can't be granted the obligatory duty of giving him a little bit of embarrassment?"

"No, you cant'."

The blonde huffed, sticking her tongue out at him. "Anyway, dinner's almost ready. Only thing left is the chicken. Or do you want your E-tank early?"

"I'll wait, thanks." Mega told her.

"Gotcha." With that, the housekeeper made her way back into the kitchen, leaving the Blue Bomber on his lonesome.

'They can't stay hidden forever.'

No, they couldn't. Still…he was torn on whether or not he wanted to 'find' him. Brother… 'I always wanted a…' he shook his head. If he delved too far into that, then his function would be compromised. Something he couldn't allow.

Still, he wasn't entirely blind to the situation of the Robot Masters. They belonged to Wily, even those that were once Light's. And their original programming was long gone, potentially never to be restored. He was considered quite lucky regarding the incident regarding Dr. Peto (who was no doctor at all, let alone human), yet it was accepted by now that, even if by some stroke of luck, the Doc DID manage to revert the damage done, it wouldn't make a lick of difference. As of now, they were considered too dangerous to be left functioning, and thus, like every other Robot Master under Wily's command, were blacklisted to either be terminated on sight, or, upon capture, be sent to the authorities to be dealt with.

Something of which Mega Man had just done to eight of them.

News of what was to be done had yet to be heard, though Tomahawk assured that he would keep him informed. Until further notice, however, they would be held in a government owned facility until such a decision could be reached. He wouldn't deny that a part of him felt somewhat prideful in this. After months of no action, let alone after what he considered a momentous failure regarding Dr. Kouin, he was finally able to redeem himself with the incident regarding the Mobile Suit and the Time Skimmer. His programming had finally been able to be relieved. His function had been fulfilled.

His purpose for living had been done. And if he saw to it, it would continue to do so without fail.

And yet…

And yet this 'roundup' session gave him such discomforting thoughts. Thoughts that came into conflict with his function. After all, wasn't he born, no, rather, reformatted to combat such threats? Why would he be second guessing and pondering about those he was converted into a fighting machine to fight against? Such things…they never…well, that wasn't entirely true. Ever since Dr. Peto…he noticed an evident change occurring in him. A change, a realization of sorts. Things he had been able to suppress and not think about too much thanks to the influx of wild, crazy schemes concocted by the doctor, but in times between them, those were the times that there seemed to be little escape.

Yet in those times, he just went back to his function. His function, his world, his need for existence. His family…his mechanical nature. How…happy he was being a robot.

'Are you sure…'

Yes. A robot.

'…you know…'

A machine.

'…what happy is?'

…that sometimes didn't feel comfortable in their own 'skin'.

Note: The issues regarding the Robot Masters and Mega Man himself are issues that will be expanded upon later, yet I wanted to give some hints to them earlier, as some questions may arise about them. And given how I know slow I can take things at times (something I hope to improve), I didn't want to just leave things unaddressed, as some things can be quite questionable if not clarified.

That said, I hope you enjoyed and hope to see you next time!
