The dark sky overhead now seemed to light the blood-soaked earth. Trees were dead still, plants wilted and dead as dried leaves crunched under her paws. This was her dream world. A place of death that she trained in every night.

Acornpaw watched as the dark leader tossed the black pelted tom effortlessly across the training area. She flicked an ear. Remembering the pain that had came after being throw against a tree. It had almost broken a rib, and that took her out of day training for almost a week.

Now she was just thirteen moons. And in the living world she was due to become and apprentice just in the morning. Hawkstar still hasn't given any timing of how long this training would last. But she thought it would be until his plans are put into action.

"Enough, you need to train harder. Use that power you were born with!" Hawkstar snarled in the WaldClan apprentices face. Rotting teeth barely missing his nose.

Acornpaw smirked. She knew that she was their shared mentors favorite. Not only had she started training first, but she was Hawkstar's living decentent. "I have dawn patrol today. Silverspeckle will be waking me soon," she meowed.

The calico narrowed his eyes. Tail twitching as he gave a curt nod with a thoughtful grunt. "You are done in this part of your training. So go ahead and get some rest. Twistpaw on the other paw, we need to catch up on what you missed."

Without giving warning the large tom leaped at the apprentice. His claws outstretched as he collided into Twistpaw, a loud screech of pain coming from the younger tom. Acornpaw watched for a few more minutes before curling up. She needed some sleep, and this was her only time to get it.

Dawn patrol wasn't that eventful. Along the way she had managed to snag a passing vole, but that was about it. Inside camp she groomed out her reddish-black coat. Watching Slashstar's den as she waited for high noon, the time of her ceremony.

Finally the bulky she-cat padded out of her den. Leaping on top of her den as she glared down at the Clan, letting out a loud yowl. "Today we celebrate a new warrior! Acornpaw, you had reached the end of your training. Please come forth with your mentor."

Raising to her paws she flashed a smirk at Cloverpaw. This was the second oldest apprentice in the Clan now, already ten moons and should be nearing the end of her training. But they all knew the truth, Slashstar needed to trust her. And the tan and white she-cat would be stuck an apprentice for a much longer time.

Acornpaw sat beside her mentor. The old silver tom grinned proudly down at her, his head raised high. "Silverspeckle, has your apprentice learned the warrior code? Followed your training so that she is ready to become a StrichClan warrior?"

The tom nodded. "Acornpaw is more then ready to become a warrior." He answered confidently.

Slashstar seemed pleased with the answer. Leaping down from her place as she stood just a few inches away from Acornpaw. "Then, I, Slashstar of StrichClan, name this warrior Acornthroat!"

Lifting her tail she enjoyed her new name being chanted. Louder and louder into the sky as she licked her leaders shoulder. Earning an affectionate headbutt on the shoulder from her former mentor.

"I'm proud of you," he meowed, "even if you have the temper of a badger!" Added the tom in a loud purr.

The she-cat dipped her head. Enjoying for once the warmth of her Clan by her side. Something stirred in her belly, an feeling that she needed to complete. I want my Clanmates to always be like this. To have them be under my rule and being proud of me. Chanting my name.

Acornthroat could suddenly scent her dark mentor beside her. His tail resting on her shoulders as his deep voice growled into her ear, chanting alongside her Clanmates.

"Acornstar! Acornstar!"
