this book is far from finished and i cant wait till my favirote charcter is introduced (OC) i'm so excited

Chapter 16- "friends and family"
(Cami's perspective)
(the first day of the thing)
"Hey Cami." a voice said as my shoulders were shaken a little
"Mmmrrggggmmmm…" I moaned sleepily
"Wake up, unless you want to miss our run?" Hiccup said cheekily
My eyes snapped open and I jumped out of bed
I realised what I had done and looked down and sighed with relief
I was still wearing my burglary outfit from yesterday. I was thankful that I was so tired preparing for the thing that I didn't bother changing clothes to sleep.
"Ummm… if you don't want to go for the run that's fine…" Hiccup said sadly
"No (yawn) i'll come." I said
"Just give me a sec to change." I said a little self consciously
"Ummm, yeah. sure. totally." Hiccup said as he got out of my room as fast as he could knocking into my dresser in his haste.
I got changed into a clean burglary suit and then stepped out the door
Then I met Hiccup outside the house and we went for a run.
After we came back we had breakfast just as mom was waking up
"If your guys don't want me to know you should really try and be quieter." Bertha quipped
"MOM! That's not what happened." I said turning red
"Your faces say otherwise."
I turned to look at Hiccup who was also bright red
"We are red because we just went for a run." I snapped
"Ok. ok."
"By the way Hiccup, you will have to change your name for the week so no one recognizes you."
"What happened to no one being as thin as me?" Hiccup said sarcastically
"You've gotten stronger and you've grown a bit." Bertha said
"Ok how about… Enginn?" Hiccup asked
Bertha raised her eyebrow
"Are you sure?" she asked
"Why? What's wrong?" I asked
"The name means Nobody translated into ancient Norse." Hiccup said
"Why do you want to be named that?" I asked
"Well to Berk I am nobody." Hiccup answered simply
"Well we don't have time to come up with a different name because we are supposed to be at the mead hall now." Bertha said
We all got up quickly, cleaned our tableware, changed into some nice clothes and left the house.
(Hiccup's perspective)
(several minutes later)
We walked into the mead hall and were quickly joined by Tindra who was in bodyguard mode.
Cami was wearing a white dress with a golden fabric like belt and had her hair done up into a french braid
I was wearing black leather pants and a green shirt that had a small amount of gold embroidery
Bertha was wearing a lot of armour that signified that she was the chieftess; a large orange shirt with black pants and grey armour that had about 4 different Bog Burglar symbols etched into it.
We walked in and greeted all the chiefs of the other tribes
"Bertha!" a voice cried
Norbert came up to us arms stretched wide
"Hello Norbert." Bertha said
"I must thank you for the map you gave us, I'm sorry it took me threatening to wage war on you to get it. But I am forever in your debt." Norbert said amicably
"I'm glad you liked the offer." Bertha said
"But you should really be thanking this boy here." she said putting her hand on my shoulder
"He's the one who suggested that we offer you the map as a peace treaty."
"If it weren't for him you'd be exploring Davy Jones' locker or I would be dancing the deathwalk." Bertha said laughing
"Really?" Norbert said
"I try to be peaceful with everyone whom I meet." I stated
"What would your name be?" Norbert asked crouching down
"Enginn." I said
"You should be a peaceable." he stated
"Well they already have peace, so I have no need to bring peace to that tribe." I said
"You're a smart one." he said
"I DARE YOU TO SAY THAT AMERICA ISN'T REAL!" someone shouted
Norbert got a murderous glint in his eyes
"Excuse me I must go deal with this lying frog mouthed son of a troll." he said as he unsheathed his dual colored axe
"Be peaceable." I called after him
"I will Enginn, in fact he will rest in peace." Norbert said menacingly
"... or pieces." Dagur said walking up and joining the conversation
"It's all the same to him, and all the same to me." he said
"You see, I want archipelago peace just like you, Enginn, was it? Anyway, I know how to gain world peace, all you need to do is conquer everyone else into submission." Dagur said
"I'm not sure that's how world peace works?" I said
"You know, brother. I like you, you remind me of someone who has seemingly vanished from the archipelago. He was fun."
"Are you talking about that Hiccup boy, from Berk?" Cami said
"Yeah that's him, I heard you and him were friends a while ago. Do you know where he is?" Dagur said eagerly
"No, sadly I don't know." she said
Cami was obviously lying as I was standing right next to her.
"well then i'll continue asking around, see ya." Dagur says as he walks away
I turn to go walk in another direction to meet more people when I see the last people I want to meet.
"Bertha!" a large man with a huge red beard and helmet with huge horns coming out the side came rushing through the crowd.
"Stoick." Bertha said resolutely
Then 5 teens my age came out of the crowd behind him
"Uncle Stoick when am I announced as the heir…" Snotlout whined
He was ignored
Fishlegs began to sweat
"I gre greet you my my my hostesses es." he stuttered
"And I greet you too." I said as I reluctantly bowed to the hooligan tribes company
Cami curtsied beside me in unison
Astrid also curtsied
And Fishlegs attempted to bow but was so nervous he didn't do it properly
The twins and Snotlout didn't even bother with the pleasantries
Stoick turned to Cami
"Hello Cami." he said
"'Ello Stoick." she said mirroring the last time she spoke with him
Then Snotlout realised something.
"Wait why are you with the Bog Burglars tribe?" he asked pointing at me
"What do you mean?" I asked even though I knew exactly what he was getting at
"Your a boy." he said
"Well Snotlout if they are to increase their population they do need males." Fishlegs said
"Shut up Fishlegs." he said sharply
"The Bog Burglars are a tribe predominantly run by females that doesn't mean only." I stated
"Well either way you shouldn't be here." he sneered
"That is no way to treat our hosts." Astrid said
"I can do anything I want, i'm the heir to Berk!" he gloated smugly
"I must be off, enjoy your stay." I said through gritted teeth as I bowed again and left.
(Cami's perspective)
(the moment Hiccup left)
I watched as Hiccup walked out the doors to the mead hall and looked at Snotlout looking smug
I knew Hiccup was mad, because to be honest so was I.
"Enginn dear!" I called as I ran off to find him.
I had to push my way through the crowd and had the weave through people and under them.
It took me 5 minutes to make it to the door, but somehow Hiccup/Enginn made it there in 30 seconds!
I stepped out into the crisp night air
"Enginn?" I called
I got no answer
I looked around me and didn't see anyone who could hear me, the only people who could were the drunk people in the mead hall behind me. So I thought it'd be safe to use his real name.
"Hiccup?" I called into the night
I waited a few seconds for any response.
None came.
"HICCUP!" I shouted louder
Once again receiving no response except for the laughter from within the mead hall.
(Hiccup's perspective)
(the moment he left)
I opened the door and slipped out into the night.
I ran to the forest and into the cove that me and the Nightfury have met in several times.
I looked around and didn't see him
Then I began to look up at the trees and there he was, hanging from the tree.
"Hey, Toothless, c'mon down here." I said
I had named him Toothless after his gummy smile that I had seen many times in the last week.
I put on his saddle made of stolen leather and metal from the Bog Burglars which I felt bad for. But there was no other way to get it.
I mounted the saddle and the two of us flew up and to the mead hall.
The mead hall was very similar to Berks meade hall with two giant Vikings standing behind large torches with the door between them. The only major difference between the exterior of the meade hall on Berk and the meade hall here, was the two viking statues flanking the door are clearly feminine. Toothless landed on one of the statues and clung to its back with his claws, blending in with the shadow formed by the statue they were on.
(omniscient Narrator)
(the moment Cami steps out the great hall)
As soon as Cami stepped out of the meade hall 2 pairs of green eyes fixed themselves on her
"Enginn? She called
Both the boy in question and the dragon remained quiet
The young blond girl began to look around suspiciously
"Hiccup?" she called
The boy cringed at herring his real name being called but neither him nor the dragon did anything more.
"HICCUP!" She cried out again.
The dragon was curious as to who this was? Why she was so worked up about not being able to find his rider? And why his rider made no move to comfort her?
Then the door opened again and 3 pairs of green eyes(1) turned to look at who had come out.
A short boy with brown hair and a helmet with curly horns and big muscles came out.
"Hey babe." he said to Cami
"Didnt you have a thing for Astrid?" Cami said through gritted teeth
"I did but once I became the heir I realised I have to marry someone from another tribe for some kind of peace treaty. So Astrid was out of the question, then I saw you." he said acting smart and debonair.
(Hiccup's perspective)
(the same moment)
My cousin looked very smug.
Especially about Cami
I thought I was jealous of Thuggory, but this just brought it to a whole new level!
I was furious that he would make a move on Cami
'Thuggory can have her as long as Snotlout doesn't get her.' I thought to myself
"No thanks." Cami said sassily to my cousin
"Oh it wasn't a question." Snotlout said dangerously
I quietly hopped off Toothless and onto the ground behind the statue.
I walked up beside the two. At this point Snotlout had grabbed her arm.
I grabbed his wrist.
"She is spoken for." I said firmly
Both Cami's and Snotlout heads whipped to look at me
Cami looked relieved. Snotlout on the other hand looked shocked.
"Who are you?" Snotlout asked, his shock quickly turning to anger
"I am Enginn. You are holding milady's wrist." I said firmly
"And how do I know she is your lady?" he asked angrily
"You can take my word for it, hers, or Bertha's." I threatened
"You know you're a goody two-shoes like my cousin. As such, you earn two of my shoes in your face." he says menacingly
Cami knees him in the crotch causing Snotlout to go cross eyed and let go of her arm. I however did not let go of his wrist.
I pulled him towards me and floored him with a left handed punch.
Cami started to walk back to the meade hall but I grabbed her arm.
She felt the restraint on her arm and turned to me.
"Come. I wanna show you something." I said as I pulled her to the side of the meade hall.
She was silent as she looked at me
I was about to call Toothless but I looked at Cami and saw a sword on her hip
"I must ask you to put that down." I said gesturing to the sword
She looked at me skepticaly but did as I asked without arguing
"Toothless!" I called towards the statue
(Cami's perspective)
(immediately after the last scene)
A shadow jumped down from the statue Hiccup was looking at.
The shadow slunk forward till it was in front of us.
That's when I saw its bright green eyes!
I inhaled sharply in shock.
"It's ok. He won't hurt you." Hiccup said
I was silent for a short while
"Night fury!" I whispered as I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding
"Put your palm in front of his snout, like a high five." Hiccup said
"Just to get it eaten?" I hissed
"don't you trust me?" Hiccup asked
"I trust you, I don't trust IT." I said sharply
"Him." Hiccup corrected
"You're kidding right?" I asked hoping this was a prank
"Do you trust me?" he said, gesturing for me to give him my hand.
"Fine. but don't do anything stupid or crazy! I threatened
"If I wasn't crazy I wouldn't be here right now." he said
I gave him my hand and he offered it to the dragon
The dragon sniffed it, then I swear it did it pridefully, stared at my eyes while it nudged its snout into my palm, as if to say "see, I can be docile."
"How and why do you have a pet dragon?" I said using the term pet very loosely
"Well how; I showed him respect and kindness and he in turn did the same. Why; well i'm crazy and he could have killed me multiple times but instead just watched me curiously."
I grabbed him by the ear.
"You and I need to talk." I threatened
"Where?" he asked cringing
"Wherever you keep him." I said gesturing at the dragon
"Ok but we'll get there faster on dragon back." he said
Only now did I realise there was a saddle on the dragons' back.
"Is it safe?" I asked
"Yes HE is safe." Hiccup confirmed and corrected
So I got on the saddle behind Hiccup and held on tight to his stomach, the dragon spread its wings
"Toothless gently." Hiccup scolded in advance
The dragon rocketed straight upwards but leveled off very quickly
The dragon showed me the aurora's something i could never quite see clearly but since we were above the clouds I saw it perfectly
It took both my breath away and my voice.
I was speechless!
After a very short flight the dragon began to dive bomb very quickly which got me screaming in both fear and joy. The dragon pulled up at the last second and landed in a small little cove.
Hiccup hopped off the dragon and began shaking his finger at it
"Toothless. What did I say about gently?" Hiccup scolded
The dragon merely gave a look of "really?" and pointed one of his wings at me
Hiccup turns to look at me
"That was AWESOME!" I shouted punching the sky
The dragon snorts and walks away from the two of us and starts blasting the ground with fire and lays on top of the now dead grass
Then I realised why we came here.
I whirled around to face Hiccup
"You have some explaining to do mister!" I threatened
"Where would you like me to start milady?" he asks calmly
"Number one how did you meet…" I said and gestured at the dragon
"Toothless?" he supplied
"Sure." I said
"Remember when I jumped off the catapult and landed on the night fury but he threw me off?" he asked
"Yes."
"Well only half of that is true. He never managed to fling me off, eventually he though dunking me under the water would dislodge me but he ended up getting caught in one of the nets from the fishing boats and his momentum took us all the way here where we crashed." he said pointing at the faint drag marks in the dirt
"Because I was on top of him when he got caught in the net I was also tangled in the net as well. When we crashed both of us were knocked unconscious. When I woke up the dragon was already awake and was struggling to get out of the net, somehow through all that I had held onto one of the Nadder spines I used to climb the catapult, I used the spine to cut my way out but the dragon was too big to fit through the whole I had made. For a while we just stared at each other till I decided to cut him loose, after a while of learning a lot about him, the dragon flew me back to the beach and then left and came back here. that's when I walked into the village." Hiccup explained
"Two where did you get a saddle?"
"Umm…" he rubbed the back of his neck
"I may or may not have stolen most of the materials to make it." he whispered
"Well i've got to compliment you on your burglary skills, but why didn't you kill it?" I asked
"He spared my life, so I spared his." he said simply
I looked at him skeptically
"He could have shot me instead of the catapult, he could have killed me in the net when I was unconscious, he could have killed me instead of bringing me to the beach." he said counting on his fingers
"So you made it your pet?" I asked sharply
"No. I made him my friend." he said calmly
"You do realise that this is an act of treason."
"Yes, I'm very well aware of that Cami." he answered sharply
"What are you gonna do?" I asked worriedly
"Something crazy." he said
"Err. you already decked the heir to your former tribe."
"True. then i'll do something crazier."
"And what is crazier than owning a pet dragon?" i asked sarcastically
"Getting other people to accept dragons." he said seriously
"So what do I do?" I asked
"Make sure no one finds out." he said firmly
"You're lucky you're the only person who can tell when i'm lying." I said firmly
(1) i'm not quite sure what color Cami's eyes are as the books never say and the pictures in the books just draw her with black pupils and nothing else. i decided she would have green eyes because well it fits her, and thats how a lot of fanart depict her.
