Isaac turned to John and Mary as he settled Jake down in bed, glaring soooo heatedly at them. His wings were fluttering behind him; he could hardly contain himself. He knew the truth immediately, without them even having to say it. He saw it the moment he laid eyes on the purple werewolf... how did he know?

Because he was the one who left those blueprints... he was the one who invented what that purple being was.

Back in the older days, when John and Mary were still newlyweds... they were living under his roof before he was evicted. He had been working on a new formula to create life back then: a life that thrived on pure magical energy. That was right around the time John and Mary were trying to have a child... and for over a year, they couldn't have a child. Isaac assumed one of them wasn't able to have children, most likely Mary. Then they just... moved out for a while. To where he didn't know, but he assumed to try and find magical help in having a baby. He was whipping up a special spell to help them when they came back... but when they returned, they a baby Jake in their arms.

He cast the spell anyway to help them have children in the future... but he never would've expected them to try using his unfinished life experiment...

That experiment was still far from complete when he made it back then. It was missing ingredients, and his own magic. Without it... Jake was unstable. Incomplete. Now don't get him wrong, he adored his grandson already and didn't want anything to happen to him. But if he was incomplete... not only was Monster going to run rampant in his brain, but it was fully possible for Jake to one day fall apart completely. All because John and Mary found his unfinished blueprints...

Desperation...

"You both are idiots..."

Isaac hissed to the couple, glaring at them with glowing red eyes.

"You used my work to make Jake, didn't you?"

Mary whined a bit, looking down and holding her tail close to her. John hurriedly stepping in front of her, speaking for the both of them.

"Yes. We did. And we apologize. We were... desperate for a child, and we acted foolish... but. We don't regret it one bit. We got Jake..."

"... our sweet baby boy..."

Mary got out too, sniffling and looking up to Isaac with a gentle expression.

"We wouldn't trade him for anything Dad... we used your work without your permission... but John is correct. We... we don't regret it..."

"Well you should."

Isaac snapped coldly, glaring at them heatedly. This even made them recoil at the sheer seriousness he was showing!

"I do love Jake. He is a wonderful grandchild. But your haste has led to more problems than you know. As you saw, your haste has split his psyche into two halves. Our Jake, and that Monster in his brain. Because you stole my blueprints before I could finish them... there is a lot missing for him. Intelligence, powers due to you sealing them, missing personality, and now a split personality. You messed up, royally. And if we can't properly tame it, and fix the problems... there's a chance Jake could fall apart entirely. Fall apart back into the ingredients used to make him."

Glaring harsher now, the professor finished.

"If you love him... you better find a way to fix this. Or else you WILL lose him. Now, he should be awake soon after he fights to reclaim control. And you will explain to him what you did. Consider that the apology for making him wrong and putting him through this unnecessary trauma."

Isaac got to his feet and left the room completely, leaving John and Mary to take everything in. To understand their situation better... to, understand that they messed up when creating Jake. That they put him through this unnecessary situation. They messed up and created Monster along with Jake...

"... so... we did miss some ingredients..."

John got out gently, looking down and crossing his arms.

"We put him through this..."

"Stop that."

Mary said firmly, glaring a bit as she held Jake's hand in hers.

"We messed up... but he's still our boy. He's done so much for us... he's a member of the family, and our love for him won't change. We did this, so we're gonna fix it. Are you with me or not?"

John sighed a bit, looking down and crossing his arms. Biting his lip a bit before speaking gently.

"Of course I'm with you. Why wouldn't I be? Jake... we'll help him. We'll do whatever it takes. Whatever he might need, we'll do for him."

Mary smiled gently, reaching over and gently taking Johns hand in her free hand. John, smiling warmly and holding her hand in both of his then. Both just knowing what they had to do from here. They had to tell their child everything... and stay strong together to help him. They could do this... they needed to do this for their sweet boy...~

Jake started to whine just a bit as he opened his eyes, looking around tiredly. His eyes didn't want to focus right away... he felt exhausted. Drained. No energy. He didn't even want to open his eyes, or keep them open. He had a pounding headache...

He didn't remember much after Monster took control of him. He just remembered being locked in cage... in the dark... and, barely being able to see what that goat was doing to his friends, and family... ooh... he'd give anything to erase what had happened. To take back what happened to them. And... to get that Monster to shut up...

That goat was screaming inside of his head... scratching at the cage, smashing against it. Making so much noise-! It was sooooo annoying... how long before he went back to shutting up?!

At last, Jake could see his parents and Jocelyn at his side, each one looking at him gently. As if trying to see if anything was wrong with him. Jake... giving them each a soft smile, trying to sit himself up gently.

"H-hey guys. What's going on? Where's Loreli...?"

Mary gently pulled him into her arms, cuddling him close really. Stroking his back, smiling warmly.

"I'm glad you're awake sweetheart... don't worry. Your sister is with Dean, Marco and Tanya at the hospital. They're ok, but Deans got a broken arm. That'll take a little bit for him to heal..."

"Right... I forgot about that there..."

Jake got out softly, sighing not long after and hugging her back. He'd forgotten for a while that he'd really hurt Dean and Marco... he really hoped they'd forgive him for it... it might've been Monster, but he was the one that had let him loose... so it was a little on him too...

... mostly Topaz and Monster. But him too...

Mary finally pulled away, looking at him gently. John sitting beside the pair, saying gently then.

"Jake. We need to tell you about, Monster. And why he's in your mind..."

Jake turned to him fast really, looking very serious very fast. Nervous even! John taking a breath before speaking.

"Jake... you see... when we were recently married, we had tried for a long time to have a baby. But... we were unsuccessful. Mary... had a condition that made it hard for her to get pregnant... so, we stole some blueprints from Professor Isaac. Life creation. And... we used it to make you..."

The prince... could only stare into nothing as he heard this. Ears twitching a tad, barely able to even process it... he, was a created being. He wasn't real then... just a fake, a shell... why didn't they tell him this sooner? He could he have not NOTICED sooner?! It all made sense now... his poor intelligence, his poor use of powers, his weak state... he should've known sooner!

So all those goons were right... Wulfric, Sean, Laim, Lance, Nathan and Wyatt... they had all been right. He was a joke...

"Jakey?"

Jocelyn asked gently, tilting her head slightly. Mary, gently pulling the girl close and standing up with her and John. Saying gently.

"Come on Jocey. We need to give Jakey a little spacey to process this..."

As the three left the room, Jake laid himself back. Blinking a bit, pulling the blanket up to his chin. Trying to wrap his mind around all of this. How he wasn't real, and how he was stuck with Monster now... he didn't know what to do now... what to do with this information... it... kinda felt like his world was falling apart...

... what on earth was he supposed to do now...?
