Isabella - IPOV

Demetri's eyes light up when I explain my plans for our wedding. He loves my idea of holding the ceremony here in the gardens. When he suggests Valentine's Day as our wedding date, I almost jump him, out of sheer joy. My Demi is the most wonderful man on earth. I'm so excited that I run of to meet Heidi, because I am now in urgent need of a wedding dress.

I find her and Jane in Heidi's room and when I tell them what I need, they start squealing again. We start researching dresses on the internet and Felix takes the hints Heidi is giving him and leaves the room while rolling his eyes. I can hear him talking to Demetri in the hallway and I smile when they leave to buy their tuxedo's, taking Alec along with them. Heidi thinks they will be driving to Milan, what gives us plenty of time to find me the perfect wedding dress.

We can't seem to find any dress that is completely my taste, so Heidi decides to call in a favor with a famous fashion designer and have my dress custom made. After answering almost a hundred questions, she promises to send us sketches by nightfall. I decide to ask both Heidi and Jane as my maids of honor, I could never pick one over the other. They hug me and we start discussing their dresses.

After hours of dress talk, we move over to the more practical stuff, like the lights and the flowers. I decide to ask Aro if he wants to officiate the wedding. He looks absolutely excited when I ask him and he also promises me that everyone will be in Volterra on the day of our wedding. After that we decide to go for a hunt, seeing the guys will probably do the same when they finish their shopping.

We make it back to the castle and find the sketches of my wedding dress in my mailbox. I stare at them for minutes; it's the perfect wedding dress. Demetri is going to love it. Heidi and Jane take a look at the sketches too and start gushing over how beautiful I will be and how Demetri is going to have a hard time keeping his hands of me. I'm definitely saying yes to this dress. I smile at them and send my okay to the designer. I immediately get a text back saying that the first fitting will be in five days.

With the guys still not back, we decide to watch a movie. I really miss Demetri by now and find myself listening to the sounds in the hallway. Suddenly I hear the voice I love so much and sprint out of Heidi's room into the waiting arms of my love. He spins me around and I kiss him. God, I missed him so much. He asks me if I want to see his tux but I don't. I want it to be a surprise.

I start rambling about our day and find out that he picked both Alec and Felix as his best man. With that we're all set for our wedding in two weeks. I start dragging Demetri and Alec down the hall, while commanding Felix to come along. We all make our way into Heidi's and Felix's room and talk until the suns come up.

I leave the castle a few times the following weeks to have my dress fitted, but for the rest all is calm in Volterra, until Aro calls us into his office. I look at Jane, Alec, Felix and Demetri, and I know this is the moment I've been training for. We're going on a mission. We are send out to locate and destroy a newborn army and its creator in Seattle. Let's hope I'm ready for that.

Previous chapter:

"Why aren't the Cullens doing something about this? It's their territory."

Demetri - DPOV

I must hand it to Jane; she's got a point there. Why aren't the Cullens cleaning up this mess? There's no way the disappearance of so many people, could have escaped their attention.

"Well Jane, that's something we will have to ask them someday. Now pack your bags, dear ones, the jet is standing by at the airport. You are to leave immediately."

We nod and make our way to our quarters to quickly pack an overnight bag. We don't need much, just spare clothes in case the ones we're wearing gets ripped or stained. A mission like this normally takes us one to two days, not counting flight time, if the creator doesn't run away. Let's hope that's the case, because there's a wedding that I need to attend.

The five of us meet up in the garage and step into one of the black SUVs. Felix takes the front seat and drives us to the airport. We board the jet and settle in for a long flight. I pull Isabella close to me and whisper in her hair:

"Are you ready for this, cara mia?"

I can hear her smiling, before she turns to me and answers:

"This is what I've been training for, Demetri. It's time to prove that I'm worthy of the name Volturi. The vampire world will see a new guard member that got her place by merit. I will make you proud, Demi. I will be the mate that you deserve."

I can't suppress the purr and I can hear Felix laughing from the other side of the plane. I flip him off behind Isabella's back and kiss Isabella passionately. I tug a strand of hair behind her ear and look into her eyes. I will never get enough of the love I see in those beautiful red eyes.

"I love you, Isa."

"I love you more, Demi."

I snicker at her response and throw a pillow at Felix's head when I hear him mumble something about getting a room. Isabella lies down with her head on my lap and I stroke her hair, while we continue our flight to Seattle.

It doesn't surprise me that it's raining in Seattle; I truly would get depressed living here. We meet up with one of our contacts and he points us in the direction of the harbor. The scent of the newborn army isn't hard to miss and we easily locate twenty-two newborns and two full grown vampires in an abandoned warehouse. Isabella's shield is keeping us hidden perfectly. We're in hearing distance of the army, but none of the vampires has picked up anything we said or did since we got here. Felix lets out a whistle and says:

"Damn, someone has been busy. It's a miracle that the humans haven't picked up on this yet. We need to end this now."

He's right; a group of newborns this large is a recipe for disaster. It won't be easy if they all attack us on sight. Alec and Jane will never be able to control all of them at the same time, so Felix and I will have to fight the rest, not that he will mind. I take the lead and start talking tactics.

"Okay, standard tactic, we've done this a hundred times before and now we even have the element of surprise on our side. They don't know we're here. Alec, use your gift on as many vampires as possible, make sure the two elder ones are amongst them. We need them for questioning. Felix, you and I kill all the newborns, not one is to be left alive. Isabella, you start a fire so that we can dispose of them effectively. Jane, take down everyone that tries to escape or that tries to sneak up on anyone of us. Is that clear?"

Everyone nodes and I pull Isabella's hood back up.

"Keep your face hidden, cara mia. I don't want anyone recognizing you and lunging at you."

I softly squeeze her hand and then the five of us walk into the warehouse. Felix and I walk in first, followed by Alec, Jane and Isabella. I have to fight the feeling to pull her close and protect her. Suddenly one of the newborns spots us and his snarls alarm the rest of them. The two older vampires hiss when they see us, they recognized us by our cloaks. They make their way to us to speak to us.

"To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit? No laws were broken here."

I can see Alec building up his mist around the warehouse. If these idiots want to talk, it will give Alec the change to desensitize them all. So let's talk.

"You are building a newborn army in a highly populated area. Did you really think that would go unnoticed by the humans and by us? Please tell me you're not that stupid."

The male vampire is looking quite nervous, but the female is confidently eyeing me, up and down. I can see Isabella tensing up, in the corner of my eye. The female licks her lips and says:

"Off course not, I was thinking we could come to some kind of understanding. You see, we were just moving out. There is this coven I need to wipe from the face of the earth and my wonderful army is going to help me with that. I will get my revenge, they killed my mate but after that I'm sure we can find some fun activities to engage in."

God, this woman is delusional. She isn't even the same league as my Isabella. No one will even be in her league; my Isa is a league of her own.

"You really are stupid if you think such an offer will work on me. Tell us more about this coven you speak of and the reason for this murderous rampage."

"Last spring our little coven encountered another coven. They took up residency here in the region and were playing baseball. We got curious and sought them out. They had a human with them that knew what we are. My James took it upon him to end her life, seeing they were breaking the law, but he underestimated the coven. They ambushed him and killed him.

I grieved the loss of my mate, Laurent helped my through it but now it's time to get my revenge. I just wanted to kill the puny human, a mate for a mate so to speak, but I found out she died in a fire. That stupid girl couldn't stay alive long enough for me to kill her, so now I'll kill the coven that protected her, every last one of them."

I hiss; these are the nomads Isabella had spoken of, the tracker that hunted her and tortured her. The one that almost killed her if it hadn't been for the Cullens rescuing her. The rage inside me is building up rapidly. That fool almost killed my mate and these two wanted finish the job. Thank god, I had gotten to her before that. I put my hands behind my back and signal Alec to send in the mist from all sides. I'll have a hearty word with this bitch after the newborns are disposed of and I can imagine Isabella has an opinion to the matter as well.

"Stupid, delusional and misinformed, that's what you are. We'll continue this conversation after we dispose of your army. Just give us a minute."

I can see the surprise on her face when she starts looking around and notice the mist, moving in from all sides. She snarls and screams to one of the newborns to mind control Alec. The look on her face when he fails to do so is almost hilarious. Isabella's shield is protecting Alec from the gift. Right after that Alec's mist reaches her and her senses are cut off. Felix and I start disposing of the newborns in the fire that Isabella made.

"Keep those two under your gift, Alec. I need to talk to Isabella."

Alec nods in agreement and keeps his mist flowing around Victoria and Laurent. Felix and Jane stand next to the fire watching the remains, making sure every last part is completely turned to ash. Isabella is still standing in the same spot, her eyes focused on the floor. I take her hood off and tilt her head up so that she's looking me into the eyes.

"Tell me what you feel, cara mia."

"I'm beyond angry; it's taking up every bit of my control not to rip her head off. How dare she make a pass at you? You're mine!"

I chuckle and take her into my arms while nuzzling her mark; I can instantly feel her relax. I softly whisper in her ear:

"You're gorgeous when you're possessive, amore mio. I will always be yours. Is that the only reason you want her dead or is them wanting to kill you also a good reason."

She smiles and I can hear the others laughing as well. We turn around and the five of us move to the two vampires. Felix moves behind the male and takes hold of him. Jane has her eyes fixated on the woman to take her down if she makes one wrong move. I hope she does, Jane looks like she will have a lot of fun doing so. Alec, Isabella and I stand in front of them. I nod to Alec to retract the mist.

The moment the mist clears, the redhead's eyes flick to Isabella and with a loud growl, she attempts to lunge at her. Jane's reaction is instant and she has her on the ground immediately, writhing in pain. Laurent is looking at Isabella with terror in his eyes. I signal Jane to stop for a moment. Alec picks the woman up, making sure she can't get to Isabella. I'm going to love ending these two. My voice sounds menacing when I address them:

"Who do you think you are? You have some nerve, attacking my mate. You won't live to tell that tale. Your mate caused his own demise and so have you. You should have left my mate alone. Your poor excuse of a mate not only hunted her, but tortured and almost killed her. He was a sadist and it's a miracle he lived as long as he did.

You should be glad it was the Cullens that killed him, because if I would have gotten my hands on him, he would have suffered for the rest of eternity. Your testimony about his death is false and with that you break another of our laws. You will be ended here and now."

I shift my focus to the male and keep talking.

"I don't know what you were hoping to gain from all this, but it brought you nothing. You should have left this little coven when you had the chance. Now you will follow them in death."

I nod to Felix and he takes the male's head off in one swift motion. I walk over to the redhead and smirk before detaching her head from her body. I walk over to Isabella and give her the head. She takes it from me and throws it into the fire. Alec throws her body in and we all watch her burn. Felix disposes of the male and I take out my cell phone to report to Aro.

Aro is quite pleased that we resolved the issue so fast. He almost squeals like a girl when I tell them that Isabella's shield worked perfectly, hiding us and protecting Alec from mind-control. He asks about the creator and I tell him who it was and why they did it. I can see the others looking at me, Felix is mouthing 'home' over and over again. I nod and address Aro.

"Master, can we return home now that the mission is complete?"

His response is surprising to say the least.

"No, find the Cullens. Every member of the coven is to report to us in Volterra on February 21st."

Carlisle - CPOV

We all see Alice going into her vision. Jasper holds her close and we all wait for her to come out of it. When she opens her eyes, she says:

"They decided to leave Seattle, they're coming here. They will arrive in twelve hours. But there's something weird about the vision. Right after Victoria decides to move out, everything becomes blurry. I still see something moving towards us, but I can't make out who it is or how many there are. Why is that?"

Alice's visions have never steered us wrong, it's strange that they are malfunctioning now. The only possible explanation I can come up with is that one of the newborns has a gift that is interfering with hers. Jasper seems to think the same, because I hear him say:

"Maybe there's a vampire with them that is blocking your gift, darling. Don't feel bad about it, we can take them even when we don't know how many will come here."

I nod in agreement. I look around at my family and say:

"We have twelve hours to get ready, so I suggest we start moving. We're fighting them in the clearing. I want them nowhere near our home. Everyone knows what the plan is, so stick to it. We meet up there in exactly eleven hours."

I watch Emmett, Rose, Jasper and Alice leave the room. Esme walks over to me and hugs me. I pull her closer and kiss her head. Edward is staring out of the window; he hasn't said a word since he returned from the cemetery. I give him a pat on the shoulder and take Esme to our room.

Edward - EPOV

When Carlisle tells me that my Bella is dead, my life seems to have no meaning anymore. I flee to my room, wallowing in my own sorrow, constantly blaming myself. I see a fleeting imagine of when my family visited the cemetery in Alice's mind, before she finds the control to hide it for me. I open my window and jump out. I run to the cemetery and find Bella's memorial stone; the flowers my family brought have been replaced by a bunch of wild flowers that remind me of our meadow.

I fall to my knees and start sobbing uncontrollably. Every sob strengthens my resolve. My presence in this world is no longer needed; I can't live in a world where Bella doesn't exist. When Victoria is dealt with and everyone in my family is save, I will ask the Volturi to end my life. I'll join my love in heaven.

I don't speak to the family anymore and Alice keeps looking at me in a strange way. I know she had a vision when I made up my mind about going to the Volturi. I just don't understand why she isn't doing something to stop me, but then again, who am I to question Alice.
