If you are wondering why I didn't update sooner, it's because I have no reviews. TWO WHOLE DAYS WITH NO REVIEWS! I get reviews two days after they are sent, so I have TWO DAYS with nobody reviewing. WHY!
Okay, sorry about my rant. I will try to be nicer.
Chapter 15
The cats whirled around, confronted by a fox.
"How did it sneak up on us?!" Oatclaw cried.
Dandelionstream ignored him, shoving Peachpaw into a nearby hollowed tree trunk.
Peachpaw protested loudly. "I want to fight!" She yowled. "You showed me battle moves!"
Dandelionstream hissed. "Not enough for you to fight a full grown fox."
There was another hiss. "Make that two," Dandelionstream said, before rushing into battle.
In fact, three foxes now circled the clearing, growling and barking at them. Oatclaw, Spikenose, and Flintlash started attacking the two foxes to the left. Dandelionstream and Berrydot jumped on the lone fox to the right, Berrydot nipping the foxes paws, while Dandelionstream clawed at him on his back.
The foxes soon ran away in terror, and Peachpaw came out. "That was a short fight!" She exclaimed. "I could have helped."
Berrydot laughed. "Maybe one day, little one."
They quickly went out to the forest, and Dandelionstream hissed. "The Twoleg Place. I knew it."
Berrydot shrugged. "What's so bad about it?"
Dandelionstream turned to her daughter. "We have to ask a kittypet for directions. I hate kittypets."
Oatclaw shrugged. "I don't like it either, but we have to, we might find the cat."
Dandelionstream wondered if he was purposefully making her go to the Twoleg place because she was mad at him. She huffed, walking into the dreadful place without looking back.
...
At first, they walked in peace, but they soon realized they had to find a cat to help them.
"Okay," Dandelionstream said. "We have to find a cat that is neither evil or a ball of sunshine."
Everyone nodded. It took a while, but they finally found a kittypet that was outside.
Spikenose stepped forward, but Dandelionstream dragged him back. "She's too happy and carefree. Moving on."
They found a cat that looked just right. Berrydot told her of what was happening and she shrugged. "Sure, but I think you have a brain full of fluff."
Dandelionstream jumped on the kittypet, Twinkle, and pinned her down. "Who are you calling fluff brain, Kittypet?" She said in a low and threatening voice. "Or you will be sorry."
Twinkle struggled, but Dandelionstream held a tight grip. The kittypet growled an apology and Dandelionstream let her up. Twinkle led them through the maze of monsters and Twoleg nests with nothing eventful happening.
The entire way, the cats explained about Starclan, The clans, The warrior code, visions, Medicine cats, warriors, and everything else about the clans. The cats could tell that Twinkle didn't believe a word of it, but was polite enough not to say so.
The group said goodbye, and headed straight to a Pine forest. But this forest had no prey, nothing, and the cats went to sleep with an empty belly
...
It was a fitful night, the Cherry dream more clear, and more frightening. When the pool of cherries came into view, it tried to suck Dandelionstream down, pulling her energy, Making...her...so...hungry...
Dandelionstream bolted awake, finding that the hunger was real. It gnawed at her belly, ate away her strength. She stood up and nugged The others away. The cats still had a long way to go, and maybe prey would be easier to find. They trekked all day, never finding a morsel.
She collapsed somewhere at around sunhigh, closing her eyes, she let sleep take her away.
...
When Dandelionstream woke up, she was in a den. Or, more like a gray cave. Cats were everywhere, some sick, others injured. There were also healthy cats, treating the sick or injured cats. And even more, coming with prey.
It's like a clan. She thought. With more medicine cats.
"What's going on?" Dandelionstream asked wearily.
She realized her hunger was gone. A nice cat came over, smiling. She said that her name was silver. She also explained what this place is. She said that this was a cave that a small group of cats found. Some had a passion for healing, while others wanted to hunt and fight. So they built it from there.
Now it is a place where if a cat is passing by that is sick or injured, the healers will help them, while the hunters find food, water, and patrol the borders.
"How do you find food?" Dandelionstream asked.
Silver smiled. "The place where you came from is called the cursed woods. For a reason unknown, no prey has ever been there, and never will be." Silver smiled again. "You see that cat? He calls himself Oatclaw. Are you mates?"
The question startled Dandelionstream. "No, why?" She asked.
"Well,'" Silver said. "He sure does care. He was carrying you all the way from the Cursed woods. Do you have a mate?"
Dandelionstream narrowed her eyes. "No, why?"
Silver laughed. "You are expecting kits!"
Dun, dun, duuuuuuuuunnn. Didn't see that one coming, did ya? Oh, what will she do? Oh, right, I know.
