Here's chapter 16 for you! Last we left off, Danielle had an unexpected reunion with Frieza. But it didn't turn out like she expected. Instead she was confronted by a worn out and depressed version of him. Who then precede to openly confess his feelings towards her and Thea. But before she could say anything they were interrupted by uninvited guests to the ship, cutting short their reunion. Knowing exactly who it was, Frieza went out to confront the intruders. Ones he knew came with only one thought on their minds. To try and take Danielle and Thea away from him. Enjoy :)

As everyone was rushing about the ship. Frieza made his way to the center of the ship where the main room was. Rage was starting to build up within him as the only thought that was running rampant through his mind at that moment was they were coming to take Danielle and Thea away from him. Hell would sooner freeze over before he let that happen. As he made his way down the hall he spotted Kikono and Berryblue heading his way. They stopped in front of him and after Kikono caught his breath he spoke. "Lord Frieza, they came here asking for you and insist you bring them the human woman and your child. We tried to stop them, but they.." Frieza held up a hand to silence him. "It's know, Kikono. I know why they're here. I will take care of it myself. You and Berryblue head back to my quarters with a few soldiers and stand guard by the doors." With that Frieza continued on down the hall to the main room. The double doors slid open and he narrowed his eyes at the two uninvited guests in the room. Both of whom were pinning him with an equally intimidating glare. "Where are they Frieza? We know they are here." He gave them a condescending smirk as the doors slid shut behind him. "I must say, this is a first you paid me a visit on my own ship...Goku." He spat out his name like a curse. "Enough stalling, just tell us where they are before we start tearing this rust bucket apart to find them." Said Vegeta who was growing more impatient by the minute. Frieza clenched his jaw. "I'm afraid if you want them, then you will have to go through me first. And this time, I don't plan on loosing to the likes of you monkeys again." Once he finished that sentence he started to power up. Goku and Vegeta followed suit and did the same. "You sure this is the way you want this to go? It's not a good place for battle. Only a few minutes into this fight and this ship will start falling apart. This is one time I wish you would reconsider fighting us. If we start, it won't be anymore safer here for Danielle and Thea. You really willing to put them at risk for this?" Frieza balled his fists, he knew what Goku said was true. If they start fighting he's not sure how much the ship will be able to endure. If it breaks apart, Danielle and Thea could get hurt or worse... they could die. But Vegeta and Goku forced him into a corner. And he couldn't just let them walk out of here with two of the most important people in his life.

"Your forcing my hand, monkey. I certainly don't want to put them in danger. But I refuse to stand by and let you take them from me either. Do us both a favor and leave. They are my family and I will take care of them. I will not be kept away from Danielle and my daughter by the likes of you." He said, hoping to deter them from a fight that could turn dangerous for them all. "You can't just drag them all around the universe. It's just not fair to them. You really want to put Danielle through all that again? And what about Thea? If you really care for her then you wouldn't be doing this. Even you know well enough that this life is not suited nor healthy for a child. You claim you can take care of them. But all you are going to do is cause them anguish and heartache." Frieza growled and charged straight at the saiyans. "Enough of this! You will not take them from me!" Shouted the pissed off tyrant. He attacked both Goku and Vegeta at once. Exchanging some wicked rapid punches at them. The red veins in his eyes pulsed and he was fighting like a man possessed. He nailed Vegeta in the jaw and the back of Goku's shoulder blades. He then sent a swift kick to Vegeta's abdomen before spinning around and swung his tail into the side of Goku's face. Both saiyans went crashing into the metal floor of the large room. Frieza didn't wait for them to get back up and attacked again. But they rolled out of the way and he missed, punching a couple deep holes in the thick metal floor. Goku and Vegeta closed back in and started throwing a combination of punches and kicks at Frieza. The arcosian deflected and blocked most of them. Until Vegeta found an opening and kicked Frieza in the back sending him sailing into the wall of the ship. He bounced off the wall, but not before leaving a huge body size dent in it. The ship rocked slightly from the force. Vegeta was about to charge him again until a firm hand on his shoulder stopped him. "Vegeta, we need to stop this. If we keep this up the ship may not be able to take much more damage." Vegeta swatted his hand off. "Then what do you propose we do, Kakarot? He's gone completely beserk. Who the hell knows what he'll do." Before Goku could answer him, Frieza started coming in fast. Goku barely had anytime to block the powerful punch Frieza threw at him. The evil emperor ended up forcing the saiyan back into the wall. "Frieza! You need to stop this! This ship won't be able to take on anymore excessive damage." Shouted Goku, who's face was now mere inches away from Frieza. "Then leave, and take the simian prince with you." He growled out. That's when Vegeta came up beside them and kicked Frieza off Goku. The tyrant flew head first into the wall on the other side of the room.

He stayed down for a few moments before pushing himself up to standing. Both saiyans appeared right in front of him. "Just give it up Frieza. It's over, lets face it. If we continue on like this we are just going to put everyone on board this ship in danger. It's not meant to withstand close quarter battles like this." Frieza grunted from the pain in his head from hitting the wall. "You have already taken them from me once. I'll be damned if I let you take them again." Vegeta growled, "Kakarot, we should just destroy him here and now. As long as this bastard is still alive, Danielle and Thea will never be safe. He will not stop coming for them." Goku sighed and met Frieza's glare, "Frieza your not leaving us with much of a choice right now. If that is true, then we will have to take you out." "You two will do no such thing." Came a familiar voice by the doors. The three men looked over in surprise to see Danielle standing there with Thea. "Danielle, you can't just keep walking into these fights like this! Your going to end up getting hurt!" Said Goku. But Danielle didn't listen and walked closer to them. "Really? If I remember correctly the fight was over, due to poor structural surroundings. So, all I walked in on was you guys conversing." Vegeta growls, "This isn't the time for jokes. We need to settle this once and for all." She shakes her head, "There's nothing to settle. There is no reason to carry this on any longer then it already has." She directed her gaze at Frieza, "Please, stop this. If you really care about us, then you know this is not the life for us. We belong on earth. We already have everything we could ever need there. So please, Frieza. If not for me, then do it for Thea. You know she deserves so much more than this." He closes his eyes to try and hide the hurt inside. "I do want what's best for her. But I wish to be apart of her life too. Would you really deny me that much, Danielle?" She shifts Thea so now she is being cradled in Danielle's arms instead of resting the child over her chest and shoulder. "No, I wouldn't do that. You are her Dad. I don't mind you being apart of her life. I never said you couldn't be."

"How can I be? When you choose to remain on earth?" he asked. She had a faint smile on her face. "Why drag us around the void of space? Just come with us to earth instead." Vegeta's eyes widened and he gasped, "What!? There's no way.." But he was cut off when Goku elbowed him in the side and gave him a look that told him to 'Shut up and let her finish.' Frieza at first looked at Danielle like she was nuts. "There's no way that could happen. These fools will just cause me nothing but problems with that whole situation." Goku smirks, "As long as you don't cause us problems, then I don't see how it's any trouble." Vegeta's eyes bulged out of his head. "Have you both lost it!? There is no way I'm letting this tyrannical bastard run loose on earth. Who knows what damage he will cause!" Goku turns his attention back to Vegeta. "Well, it's a good thing we will both be there to keep him in line then." Frieza snorts, "So what? I go from being band from earth to you two monkeys being my wardens? I didn't even say I would go there. You forget that I have an empire to run after all." Danielle gave him a hopeless look. "And what? You saying your 'Empire' is more important to you then your own daughter?" His mouth opened then closed. It was then he heard a small sound from the tiny infant in Danielle's arms. He directed his attention to Thea, who was staring at him. His own crimson eyes gazed right back at him. She made another little sound that was followed by another soon after. Apparently she got a case of the hiccups during the span of their heated conversation. Thea never broke her staring contest with him, even as her hiccups persisted. Each one making her whole body jump slightly in her mother's arms. His heart melted at the adorable display. It wasn't a difficult question to answer. Because deep down Frieza knew, if he had to choose then he'd choose her a thousand times over his empire. He swallowed, "You should have already known the answer to that question from the start, Little Mouse." She smiled as tears gathered in her eyes, "Maybe I rather hear you say it." Frieza approaches Danielle until he's standing about a foot in front of her and Thea. "Of course it's her...and You." The tears cascaded down her pale cheeks. And for the second time that night he brought his hand to her cheek and wiped them away. "It's always been you," he whispered.

But then of course the moment had to be interrupted. "Uh, are we good to go then? I'm starting to get hungry." Came the awkward reply from Goku. Frieza's eye started twitching and Danielle was trying to hold back a giggle from the random and out of place statement. Danielle readjusted her grip again on the baby in her arms. "Are we?" She asked hesitantly. He closed his eyes and sighed. Frieza then shot a quick glance at the two saiyans before directing his focus back on Danielle. "I know those two are going to drive me insane." But then he stared down to their infant daughter, who still had hiccups and continued to jump up and down in her mom's arms like a Mexican jumping bean. He let's out a slight chuckle, "But I guess it will be worth it." Frieza put a hand on Thea's tiny head and gently pushed back some stray hairs. His focus then returned to Danielle. "I need to settle things here first. I won't be long. You may go with them. May I come to your dwelling when I'm finished here?" She nods, "Yeah, it's fine." There is an awkward silence between them for a moment. Before Danielle step closer and pulled him into a one armed hug. He froze at first before carefully putting his arms around her and Thea. "Thank you," she whispered. Frieza didn't say anything, just kissed the side of her head. They reluctantly pulled away. Danielle then made her way over to Goku and Vegeta. "We're ready to go home now." She told them. "Alright, just give me your hand and I'll have you home in a second." Replied Goku. He held out his hand to hers and she took it while Vegeta put his hand on Goku's shoulder. Danielle gave Frieza one last look before the three of them disappeared. Now he could only hope that those saiyans were good on their word. That they would allow him access to earth to be with Danielle and their child. He left the main room to seek out his subordinates. Frieza would relieve his duties to his oldest and most trustworthy subordinate, Berryblue. Kikono would be appointed as her first in command.

Back on Earth...

Goku transported them to the balcony of the Brief's Residence. Bulma was out there waiting when they returned. Goku and Vegeta were a little banged up. But thankfully she noticed Danielle and Thea were completely fine. The older woman pulled Danielle in for a hug. "I'm so glad the two of you are alright, you scared the hell out of me earlier." Danielle smiled and returned the hug. Afterwards Danielle asked if Bulma could drive her and Thea home. Seeing as they grabbed her and her daughter in the middle of the night. Danielle was still extremely exhausted and wanted to go home and go back to sleep for a little bit. It was still very early. The dark sky was gradually getting lighter as dawn approached. They made it back to her apartment complex in five minutes. They were greeted at the door by an excited Maze. Danielle fed Thea and changed her diaper before putting her down in the bassinet by her bed. She then dragged herself into bed and was out within the next few minutes.
