"Topa…" the Ninetales opened his eyes at the sound of that voice, "I'm back from college!" Topa barked with and jumped onto his trainer's lap. In the human's ear was an earpiece that humans used to understand Pokemon language, "I heard you've been spending some time at the neighbour's house while I was gone." Topla tilted his head, "can you tell me why?"

I nodded, "can you come with me, Damian?" the college student nodded, "of course I can!" I jumped out of his lap, and waited for him to open the door. Damaian walked in front of me from behind and scratched my ear. I leaned into his hand until the door opening caught my attention, "okay buddy, lead the way."

17 years ago

It was raining hard, a little Vulpix hid behind a pile of boxes. He was so skinny that you could see each individual rib, his limbs were as thin as twigs, and was very dirty. The Vulpix flinched when he heard a booming thunder. The makeshift shelter made of cardboard was drenched in rain, it creaked for a second, and crashed down on top of the young Vulpix. He yelped and squirmed, but the waterlogged boxes were too heavy for him to get out. Vulpix whimpered, then laid his head down.

There was no way I was getting out of this, I'd starve by the time I got this box off of me. I saw a car's headlights stop just outside of the alleyway, "man… this storm is pretty damn…" said a deep voice. A child's voice tried to say something, but it was drowned out by another thunder, which made me flinch again. These two people were possibly my only chance at being freed from my situation! I started trying to make as much noise as my weak vocal cords could make. Squeals, howls, whines, cries, whatever noise I could make, I made it at the top of my lungs.

A human stepped into the alleyway, he didn't look like he was above the age of six, "Damian get back here!" the child saw me… I remained frozen in my place, one wrong move and I was dead. The boy got closer, closer, and closer to me. The human knelt down, and placed a hand on the tuft of fur on my head. It felt almost relieving… a much taller human, possibly this one's father stepped behind him, "Damian, come inside…" he stopped when he saw me. I shivered when he placed his hand on this "Damian's" shoulder, "son, we aren't taking him."

"Dad, we can't leave this Vulpix trapped!" the boy didn't move when his father tried to make him get up. The father sighed, "well alright, he'll need shelter from all this rain anyways."

In an instant, the boxes were lifted off of me, I was in the boy's arms, and I was being petted. I remained completely still when he brought me inside the building, "Damian, keep the Vulpix from leaving your arms, I'll get it a towel and some food.' the boy nodded while rubbing my chin, "hey buddy, you don't need to be scared…"

The Vulpix was immediately wrapped in a towel. The father and son dried the little Fox Pokemon for an hour, then finally settled him on the floor, "ya hungry?" Damian scooted a bowl of food in front of Vulpix… it looked up at the boy, licked Damian's hand, and started eating.

I woke up, the sun shined through the window, I was laying next to a human's face. I jumped a bit before remembering yesterday. I licked the boy's cheek, then laid my head on it.

I laid down in Damian's lap while he watched a weird box that was flashing in the corner. He saved my life, so I wanted to repay him in any way I could. So I have been keeping by Damian's side ever since I woke up today, "I think he likes you," said his father, whose name was "Lando ' sat down and patted me on the head, I leaned into the man's hand, and licked his fingers. That gave him a good laugh, "I guess we'll be keeping him here!" I rolled over onto my back, and immediately got rubbed on the belly by Damian…

This felt heavenly.

I scratched at the door of Snow's home and barked. A light blue glow engulfed the door knob, and twisted it. The door slowly opened up, three Vulpix playing and rolling around, mostly using Volpsei as a playground. The Ninetales was smiling despite his droopy eyes, and got up with a play bow. Snowy peeked out the door, her beautiful face broke into a light smile, "good morning Topa. she stepped out and licked my cheek. Damian chuckled, "so you've been seeing this Ninetales a little bit, huh?"

Snowy looked at me, "Topa, who is this human, and why is he here?" she asked, "I'm Topa's trainer. Dad told me he's been leaving the house a lot, so I wanted to know where he's been going all this time."

Damian then pointed at her, "I think I saw you on the news…" he looked down at me, "so you two got it on huh?" he said with a mischievous tone. I blushed and buried my face into her neck, and Snowy just chuckled. She planted a kiss on my forehead, "yes, me and your Ninetales have become mates, he is quite lovely to be with," I buried my face even deeper into her fur. I swear I could feel her trying not to laugh. "If you'd like, you can meet our kits." Damian nodded, "I'd love to meet them!"

Snowy nudged me, then kissed my cheek, "come on dear, our kits want to see you!" that got me moving real quick. Just one step through the door, and I was tackled by three balls of fluff, "hey Dad!" said Ruby the Vulpix. Coral tugged on my tails while Hachi bounced up and down on my back while happily barking. I honestly couldn't be happier if I tried.
