And that's a wrap xx

Epilogue

It turns out that when two people have super healing abilities, they are also super fertile, regardless of condoms and the pill. It wasn't long after our honeymoon that we found that we were expecting. It changed everything, but in a very good way.

I quit working for Vinnie and came to Rangeman full time. I ran searches and I headed client relations. Ranger shifted his own personal workload to cut out a lot of the danger. Rangeman became 100% morally right and 100% legal. Now we were soul bonded again, Ranger wasn't leaving anything to chance. He dealt with the corporate contract side of the business, training the men, and the day to day running of the company. We were both happy with the changes that we made to our lives to accommodate our future son.

It was around 6 months later that Diesel popped in unexpectedly with another man. Ranger and I were having breakfast on 7. As always, Ranger took the situation in stoically.

"Yo." Ranger greeted them calmly. Eyeing the man with Diesel with some curiosity. The man's expression was chagrined.

Diesel paused a beat and then gave Ranger an easy going nod. "Yo man, how's it going?" Diesel smiled at me, "Looking good mama Bear." He flicked his eyes to my big bump. "Yo Diego, how you doing little man?" I felt an answering kick.

A bit of cinnamon whirl dropped out of my mouth. "How did you know we are going to call him Diego?"

The man next to Diesel did a face palm and a groan. I looked at him more closely. His skin tone was somewhere between mine and Ranger's, though a little more towards Ranger's end. He had short dark hair and bright blue eyes. His cheekbones were Rangers. The face palm was mine.

My spidey sense went wild.

I sighed a little. "I hope you're not endangering yourself by being here Diego." I said to the man by Diesel.

He stared at me, his jaw dropped. "How did you know Mama?" He finally said.

I shrugged. "It turns out I know my son. Even if he's from the future." I sighed a little, "Well, I guess this means putting an unmentionable together with an unmentionable equals a time travelling unmentionable son."

Ranger was feeling proud to see his son full grown, though a little weirded out. I couldn't blame him. I was feeling weirded out being called Mama by a man who looked nearly as old as me.

Diego shrugged, "I'm the only one that can time travel." He reassured me. I noticed he didn't deny that my other children were unmentionable too.

I smiled archly at Ranger, "Guess this means we're having more children amor."

Ranger grinned, "I'm game."

I rolled my eyes, "Let's get Baby Diego out safely before we plan an Andrea or Angela."

Diego smirked a little.

"Or maybe a Riel or Anton?" I said.

Diego laughed. Another boy then. I wondered how many we would have.

"A Tribe." Diego assured me.

I had never imagined myself as a mother, certainly not of a big family. But Cubans did big families, and it looked like Ranger was no exception.

I smiled at Ranger, "I'm game."

I love you Amor.

I love you Querida.

A third mind touched ours Nice to see you were always this in love. Diego said into our minds, and he sent a wave of love and affection for us both that touched me to my core. I couldn't be a terrible mother if he loved me so much.

Diego stepped up and gave me a hug. You're the most amazing mama in the whole world. He assured me and his love and pride in me took my breath away.

He touched my bump Hey little me. Mama loves you already. He whispered to the infant growing inside of me. And I felt the infant mind reach out and touch mine and Rangers for the first time. He was curious and warm and happy. I sent him a wave of love and I felt his answering contentment. Something cemented between us all, I had no idea what. Baby Diego was sleepy, and, lulled by my love, he drifted off to sleep.

Adult Diego bit his lip. "oops." He finally said, "I guess I've worked out where the family bond originated from."

Ranger shrugged and gave his son a clap on the shoulder, "Don't worry about it son, it was meant to be."

"It'll make it a helluva lot easier to work out why the baby's crying." I said happily.

Diego grinned at me, "You have ridiculously content kids." He agreed. His smile faded, "We'd better go." He said to Diesel, who nodded his agreement. Diesel snagged a cinnamon whirl.

"Ok D, let's roll through time and space." Diesel said.

Diego groaned, "That gets old you know."

Diesel grinned, "depends on which timeline we're in. Right now that saying is young."

Diego stepped back to me, giving me and Ranger a hug. I love you Mama, Te amo Papa.

We love you. Ranger replied. Take it easy Son.

Diego gave us bit thumbs up, grabbed a hold of Diesel's shoulder and POP. They were gone.

Ranger poured me a fresh coffee and passed me another cinnamon whirl. I passed him the business section of the newspaper. Situation normal, all fucking crazy. I wouldn't have it any other way. We were in for a helluva ride, but we were both game.

Thanks for all your kind words, I wasn't sure this one would be well received, but thank you all for your encouragement and compliments. It's really meant a lot. x
