Chapter 16: Rookie

The days came, days left once again, Sunday came and Baez was nervous about her first sunday dinner with the Reagan's, as the morning came Baez woke up first in the house and made breakfast, then Danny came down.

"Morning." Baez said with a smile.

"Morning, beautiful." Danny said, and placed a quick kiss on her lips.

"This is for you." Baez said, passing him a plate with two pancakes

"Smells very nice, thanks." Danny said.

"I've prepared the church clothes since yesterday and now I am a bit nervous." Baez said, and then Sean came down.

"Morning." Sean said, sleepy.

"Good morning." Both answered, and Sean ate then he put on his clothes as everyone else and they headed off to the church, when they arrived they sat besides Erin and after mass ended they went to the family house.

"Dinner's ready!" Pops said and everyone went to the dinner table, everyone said grace and they started eating.

"So how are you Baez? I heard you were in the hospital." Erin asked.

"I am better, thanks." Baez answered.

"So, how's living with Danny Reagan?" Eddie asked.

"Actually, he has been such a gentleman. I am a bit surprised." Baez said and she smiled.

"Woah, I am always a gentleman." Danny said.

"So, Erin. I heard that Anthony has taken leave." Jamie said.

"Yeah, he is gonna go on a vacation with his daughter." Erin answered.

"Any idea who will be your new investigator?" Danny asked.

"They told me that someone from the LAPD transferred to the NYPD, she will be liaison to the DA's Office." Erin said.

"Wasn't there a college roommate that went to be a cop in LA?" Frank came in the mix.

"Yeah, maybe that's her…" Erin said.

After some chit-chat, Dinner ended and everyone went to their house, Danny with Baez and Sean arrived to their house, as Danny was drinking some whiskey with Baez, his phone buzzed and he picked up.

D - Reagan.
E - Hey, Danny.
D - What's up, sis?
E - I need to speak to you, pronto.
D - Alright where?
E - Come by the office.
D - Alright, be there in 10.

Danny hung up and turned to Baez.

"Something weird is up." Danny said, and Baez looked in confusion.

"What do you mean?" Baez asked.

"Erin called, she wants to meet at her office." Danny said, while grabbing his coat.

"Alright, I'll see you later." Baez said and Danny kissed her before leaving.

Danny drove to the office and found Erin outside, and he approached her.
"What's up?" Danny asked.

"I need advice, walk with me." Erin said.

"Okay, sis." Danny walked with her.

"So my former college roommate is actually my new investigator." Erin said, and they sat on a bench.

"Okay, and?" Danny said.

"We went to my place for a movie, watching a romantic one." Erin said, obviously embarrassed.

"Okay." Danny said, trying to hide a smile cause he knew where she was going with this.

"She uh, she told me that she's in love with me since Columbia." Erin said with a head down.

"WHAT?!" Danny said, jaw dropped.

"Yeah and we uh." Erin said quietly.

"You did?" Danny said with a smile.

"Kissed." Erin answered, being visibly embarrassed.

"Wow." Danny leaned back and continued "Well, did you love her?"

"Before Jack, I had feelings that I hadn't acted upon." Erin said.

:"Okay, you gotta go for it I believe." Danny said and continued "Me and Baez realized our feelings and now look at us? Already roommates." Danny chuckled.

"No one will be okay with it." Erin said.

"I am. I will have your back like you had mine, but you almost blew it." Danny laughed.

"Thanks." Erin said and she rested her head on his shoulder.

After they talked about it, Danny got back and he found Baez on the couch waiting for him.

"Hey." Baez said, as Danny sat down she rested her head on his legs.

"So, I just discovered that my sister kissed her former college roommate/new investigator." Danny said and Baez jumped.

"You mean that…?" Baez said, surprised.

"Yeah." Danny said with a smile and continued "I want her to be happy and I am glad she has come out."

"Wow." Baez said.

"I told her that we have her back." Danny said to Baez.

"Always."

Later that night, they went to sleep with Danny being happy but also worried about what will happen if his Dad or Grandpa finds out.

Alright guys, so I've been thinking about this and a new story will be coming in the start of May about the relationship Erin will have, I will be working on it during May but in the meanwhile I will be releasing more chapters. I hope you will like the spin-off as well, and we shall see!
