Avengers Crisis On Earth X Chapter 20
The team meet up with Prometheus, Crossbones and The Winter Soldier at the holding cell.
The 3 men take off their masks as Prometheus reveals to me Earth-X Tommy Merlyn and Crossbones and The Winter Soldier were indeed the Earth-X Brock Rumlow and James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes.
"Oh my god. Thats Tommy Merlyn" said Sara.
"Bucky, Rumlow" said Steve as he obviously recognized the two men.
Bucky then uses his vibranium arm to punch his was out of the cell causing everyone to startle. But all Bucky could do was leave a crack in the glass.
Steve signals everyone to stand back.
"You said this cell is secured right?"
"Oh he ain't getting out. None of them are" Barry assures.
"Tommy Merlyn died 4 years ago. This can't be real" said Oliver.
"Rumlow died way before the snap. Bucky was the first to turn to dust" added Steve.
"Steve and I are gonna need a moment alone with them"
Everyone else leaves as the two began their interrogation.
Meanwhile back at the main lab everyone else was trying to figure out how another Tommy Merlyn was alive.
"He's a crony" said Mick.
"Lately we've been dealing with anachronisms. People and things displaced throughout time" Sara explains.
"By that logic Rogers could be an anachronism. This is something else. Like some evil twin from another dimension kind of thing" added Rhodey.
"What like in the movies? Scott asks
"Actually Scott that could be a possibility" said Bruce.
"He's right. If we came from another world, maybe these invaders did as well" said Nebula.
"If there really is a multi universe whatever, anything is possible" Rocket adds.
"Why would a bunch of Nazis from 1945 wanna crash a wedding?" Iris asks
"Crab legs. They were delicious" Mick adds.
"I'm guessing they found out about another world where America never lost the war probably wanna take over" Clint adds
"There's gotta be more to that Clint. It seems like they specifically targeted Kara. If life being a spy taught me anything is that you don't just send a bunch of guys just for fun without the intention of wanting to capture one person" added Natasha.
"But Tommy Merlyn cooked up in a Prometheus suit while being dead for years that doesn't make any sense?" said Felicity.
"So visitors from another earth?" asked Barry
"There's more than one?" Jax asked
"If our Avenger friends taught us anything is that there's at least 19999. But there's a 53rd earth. It's called Earth X" explained Wells.
"It's hard to imagine an earth where the Nazis reign ascendant" adds Stein.
"I can. It doesn't have a designation because it's a place so awful. So horrific, no sane person would ever travel there. Basically our earth, same history, same timeline albeit I'm guessing also merged with the timeline of the Avengers including Captain Roger's service in the Army, with one crucial and critical difference. Maybe even another" explained Wells
"Let me hypothesize, the Nazis developed the Atomic Bomb before the United States did and they're more than happy to use it" said Stein.
"Then there's the other thing, Captain Rogers path of history remained on course until he was captured and tortured by Hydra. My guess is that they eventually killed him. Therefore No Cap, Hydra wins and no Avengers." Wells went on.
"They won the war since New York, London and Paris gets bombed. Remember on Earth-19999 Captain America stopped the bombing of New York before he went in the ice. The SS sets up outposts and they obliterated Europe and the Americas as Hitler continued his reign of hatred against, presidents and prime ministers pathetic to him until his death in 1994"
"We have to find them. Are they using the breach to hop between worlds?" Kara asks
"They're operating on a staging area. Some are in Central City nearby" said Alex.
"We've got a metric ton of smart people in this building don't worry. Let's get to work on finding our new friends from Earth-X" said Barry
Meanwhile back at the holding cell
"Earth-X?" Oliver asks.
"And I'm dead on this Earth" Prometheus began. I was born into the Reich. There were no Elementary Schools, summer camps, just youth groups. Training facilities. The Reich wanted every child to begin to train as soldier as early as possible. Some went willingly, other by force"
"Easy for you to say. HYDRA saw a future with living for. A purpose" Crossbones added.
"Enslavement? Cleansing? Order and power? Yeah that's quite the example Hydra leads" Steve adds.
"You really are a boyscout on the other Earths aren't ya Rogers?"
"As I was saying" Prometheus continued. "We had to grow up without a choice"
"You have a choice now" assured Oliver
"You can tells us where the other from Earth-X are and how we can stop them" said Steve
"On my earth you were my best friend. I would die for you" said Prometheus
Oliver replied back with "I would have died for you. You beat me to it and I lost you. It was like losing a limb. You weren't just my friend Tommy, you were my brother. You sacrificed yourself for a woman we both loved and that was here. You were a good man. Here. I believe you still can.
"Understand that if I talk, the Fuher will kill my father, my mother, everyone I love"
"I will not let that happen! I will stop it!"
"Do you think you can do that?"
"I promise I can do that"
Prometheus then looks down
"Then you really are a special kind of idiot!"
Oliver looks in confusion
"You're naive nature would be so charming if your weakness wasn't so pathetic! Is this how it is on your planet? Everyone swayed by sentiment? So weak and soft? The Reich will change that. He will enslave this world, crack your skull by his boot and you and you won't live to see it"
"That's not gonna happen. You are the rest of Earth-X will leave for good!" Steve warns.
"You were right Rumlow, he is a big pathetic boy scout! Even more pathetic and weak!"
Prometheus then pulls out a cyanide pill and takes it.
"I wish I could live to see it"
"No No!" shouted Oliver.
As Earth-X Tommy's mouth foams from the poison, he eventually succumbs.
Crossbones gave a round a applause.
"Now that. That was a performance. Kid outta be an actor. Oh wait... Oops *laughs*. You see, there's a lesson to be learned from this, Hydra accepts no weekness. No remorse. Only victory. I'll see the both of ya in hell. Hail Hydra !"
Brock pulls out his sidearm and shoots the side of his head as blood splattered against the glass.
Bucky after not saying a word this whole time looks at the bodies.
"I thought those idiots would never shut up"
"Buck. Who's side are you on?" asks Steve
Here's a fun fact! Unlike Tommy, I actually am on the good guy side. I'm the mole in the operation.
"How can we trust you?" asked Oliver.
Bucky then pulls out his metal arm as he rips off the Earth-X Hydra Insignia on his shoulder. He rubs off what appeared to be silver paint to reveal a S.H.I.E.L.D insignia.
"Let him out" ordered Steve.
"Fine. Put if he tries anything...
"Then I'll deal with it Queen. Merlyn was your best friend here on your earth. Bucky was mine"
Oliver and Steve opened the cell and Oliver grabbed Rumlow's gun and placed it on Bucky's head as Barnes himself had his hands up.
"Move. Slowly" ordered Oliver.
