It was obvious that the two of them weren't talking. The rest of the class whispered as they nervously stared at the duo who were obviously together all of the time. Both of them were visibly angry, had bandages on their face, and were grovelling at their respective desks. Hinata gritted his teeth, thinking about what Kageyama said about the night before.

The Zone.

The thing that connected him to the Generation of Miracles. The thing that reminded him that he was a Genius, a Monster. He didn't want to be reminded of it. The fact that he would constantly hear the voice whenever he got into a game, the fact that others were encouraging him to use the Zone made him so mad. The sunshine was content the way he was. He didn't want things to change.

Change.

That's what the team wants. They want to change and grow. No longer meek crows, they grow more intelligent and gather information from the resources around them. When the time comes near, they will strike and bring down their opponents. Karasuno wants to become a murder of crows. They want to constantly evolve.

Evolve.

He knew sooner or later, he would have to evolve. Right now, he was still an egg, not ready to leave the comfort and security the shell provided. Staring at his notebook, Hinata knew what he had to do.

"Mom! Can I skip school for a week?" His mom spit out her tea all over their dinner. Hinata grimaced as he patted his face with a cloth.

"What for?" Hinata put down the cloth before staring his mother right in the eyes.

"I want to go to Tokyo. I'll stay with a friend." Hinata stated. He nervously gulped as his mom tilted her head to the side, a sign that she was thinking.

"Sure. I'll say that I'm taking you for a business trip with me." The sunshine beamed so wide that his mom knew that she did the right thing. When he came back last night, she was so worried about him, but looking at her son, she knew that he knew what he was doing. And she wanted to help him change.

Hinata scarfed down his food and quickly ran up to his room, knowing what he had to pack. He had messaged this 'friend' earlier that day, and he did agree on letting him attend their training camp.

To Kuroko: I'm crashing your training camp! Thanks for letting me come :D

Kuroko stood at the train station just as the the sun was touching the sky, it was a gorgeous view, he must admit, but the figure that was running towards him was an even better view. A long time friend was so happy to see him.

"Hinata-kun." Kuroko said, smiling at the Orange Miracle. "Nice to see you again, Riko-senpai said that she'll let you in the training camp as long as you help." Hinata nodded, giving him a thumbs up. "Why are you crashing the camp anyways?" The duo started to walk over to Kuroko's place.

"I want to change. And thus, I must go back and face what I ran away from." Hinata stated, shifting his duffel bag over his shoulder. "Kageyama and I got into a fight, he wanted me to use the Zone, and I didn't. I didn't want to change. However, the rest of the team wanted to, so I will change for the sake of them." To the Phantom Sixth Man, Hinata looked terrifying, like he was going to swallow everything that he sets his eyes on.

"I see." Kuroko nodded and started to think. "I'm glad that you're becoming ambitious, Hinata-kun."

"Ehhh~~ You think?" Hinata flushed and scratched the back of his right hand nervously, "I don't think I'm ambitious, I honestly didn't want to change." Kuroko just nodded and the rest of the walk was silent.

When they got to Kuroko's place, Hinata tried to deny some homemade breakfast from Kuroko's mother, however, he gave in, finding himself, sitting at the dinner table, eating a small salad and toast. Kuroko gave him an apologetic smile as his mom excitedly talked to the sunshine, happy to see one of her son's old friends after a long time. Hinata just smiled and nodded to a lot of the babbling, but overall, he enjoyed it.

With four homemade onigiris in hand, Hinata hurriedly followed Kuroko to where everyone was meeting up at. He was pretty sure that none of them knew that he was coming. The sunshine started to sweat a bit in nervousness, unsure what he would say when he got there. The walk was spent in sweet, sweet silence though.

"Ah! Kuroko-kun! And Hinata-kun! I'm glad the two of you made it." Riko shouted cheerfully, and a bunch of 'Eh?!s' came from the rest of the team, who all stared at the Generation of Miracle who was nervously shifting side to side. "Guys, Hinata-kun will be joining us for this training camp! I hope you guys don't mind, he'll be helping a ton as well." The coach knew what she was going to do with the boy, his stats were as monstrous as Kagami's and she could help him grow even stronger. Even though he was joining for basketball, Riko knew that she could do something to help him with volleyball.

"Sweet, a Miracle is joining us." Kagami smiled, thinking of all of the practice matches he can do with Hinata. "It'll be a nice experience for us all, thank you for joining!" The redhead did a small bow towards the duo. "Also, where is Kuroko? I know Riko saw him…"

Then, Hinata bursted out laughing, pointing to the person next to him, he wheezed so hard that his sides hurt.

"Your partner can't even see you Kuroko?" He asked, wiping a tear away. Kuroko nodded, with a deadpan on his face.

"Sadly."

"What do you mean by sadly?!" Kagami roared furiously. He grabbed his partner by the shirt and shook him around. "I see you once I see you! That isn't 'sad'!" The moment Kagami let go of Kuroko's shirt, the Phantom Sixth Man was seen walking towards the bus, where the other members of the basketball team were already loading up. Kagami looked furious as he followed Kuroko, who still had a deadpan on his face.

Hinata ended up snickering and eventually followed the rest of the team onto the bus. He ended up sitting next to the coach, Riko, who said that she wanted to discuss a training regimen for him exclusively during the camp. Listening to what the girl had to say, Hinata was impressed by how she knew what he did without him telling her his past. However, after learning that she was the daughter of an extremely famous body trainer, Hinata felt respect for the girl. Especially since she decided to coach for the basketball team instead of the other teams that probably could possibly have more potential than them. Staring at the regime, he couldn't help but note that he had to do a lot of things on the beach. Why the beach? When the sunshine went to turn to the coach, she was fast asleep, her head leaning forward at an uncomfortable angle. Chuckling to himself, he soon too yawned and eventually fell asleep.

:3c

"Hinata-kun, how was your nap on the bus?" Kuroko asked the half awake Miracle who was rubbing his eyes.

"It was nice… I really needed that sleep…" Hinata yawned a bit as he stretched his arms out. "Ah~ That was a good stretch." Picking up the duffel bag, Hinata stared at how gorgeous this place was. And not to mention, apparently this place had a gym in the hotel?! They could be playing so many games and not have to worry about travelling at all. A shiver of excitement traveled down his spine.

Humming softly, the Orange Miracle managed to get the key to his room, where he was sharing it with the light-shadow combi. Passing by the changing room for the public baths, he heard a familiar voice.

"What are you doing here, nanadayo?" Hinata turned around with wide eyes.

What's up with him managing to bump into every single person of the Generation of Miracles?

And there, right in front of him, was Midorima Shintaro. Fellow Cancer, the sharpshooter of the Teiko Basketball team, former classmate, really freaking tall now. He is also one of the Generation of Miracles.

Generation of Miracles.

A title worthy for those who are the Geniuses of Geniuses. Truly a title befitting the monster people he played alongside with during middle school. Did He deserve the title? Maybe not. Afterall, he did run away from everything that happened at Teiko.

Teiko.

The thing that started it all. The place where he unlocked his potential to play all of these sports. The reason why he loves playing them so much. And the place where he decided to hide away. Hinata looked Midorima in the eyes, his warm brown eyes clashing against the cold green eyes Midorima had.

"I came here on a training camp." Hinata stood his ground against his former friend and classmate. "I'm here to play basketball." Midorima raised his eyebrow up perfectly before adjusting his glasses on his nose.

"... Is that so? I shall let Akashi know that you have decided to play basketball competitively once again." Hinata deadpanned at his former friend, who in turn realized that he wasn't gonna play competitively.

"I'm just here for the training camp. Nothing else." Hinata turned away from Midorima, before walking off to his hotel room, not sparing a glance to the Miracle. If strangers saw this interaction, they would have assumed that the two of them were strangers or acquaintances.

Fumbling with the key, Hinata felt relief flood through his chest as it finally, finally opened. Not letting the eerily calm facade of his down, he walked into the room before shutting the door right away. A small sigh of relief went out of his mouth as the sunshine recalled the conversation the two of them had earlier. Embarrassment was written all over his face and Hinata thanked Kami-Sama for allowing him to put a strong facade around Midorima.

Midorima Shintaro.

He was now so cold, Hinata felt like he didn't know who this person was. Where did the tsundere go? Where did the subtle acts of kindness go? It was like they did go back to being simple strangers. It was heartbreaking.

Hinata's eyes started to blur in and out as a few tears slipped from his eyes and fell onto the carpeted floor. But then the tears had stopped. He had to be strong, stronger than ever. Clenching his right hand, Hinata let out a sigh to calm himself down. He had to change.

Change.

He will change. For the sake of himself, and for the sake of the team, and for the sake of that giggling chest that resides deep, deep, deep in the water.

The sunshine found himself on the beach, wearing swimming trunks and a light tank top. The rest of the members of the Seirin Basketball team were there as well. Riko had given a small speech about how they were going to redo all of their foundations and start from scratch again through basketball. However, she pulled Hinata over to the side, and started to give him the personal regime she created for him.

His stomach dropped as he heard what she wanted him to do, his brown eyes shaking in fear.

"Riko-san, I don't think I can-"

"No, you can! After looking at your stats, it confirmed everything I wanted you to do!" Riko beamed, looking like an angel, but at that moment, Hinata knew.

She was the Devil.

:3c

Kagami started to drink a bunch of water as he stared at the Orange Miracle run on the beach, with a volleyball thrown in the air and do a jump serve. Riko had ordered him to do a bunch of jump serves, then come join them in a basketball match every other game. Kagami honestly felt bad for him, but Riko was smiling the entire time, looking extremely pleased with herself.

To him, Hinata was an anomaly. He was a part of the Generation of Miracles at one point, but stopped playing basketball at one point. Even though he didn't play basketball anymore, Kagami can feel how monstrous the short boy was. His potential can reach higher heights that Aomine. That was scary to think about. What if Hinata still played basketball, would he be an even bigger monster now?

"Hinata-kun truly is a crow." Kuroko said, surprising the hell out of Kagami. "He absorbs, takes in information, and adapts." Hinata looked like he wanted to die as they all saw the volleyball fly away with the wind. "I'm glad that he's a friend. I would never want him as an enemy."

Kagami agreed with Kuroko for once.

Hinata Shoyo was a Monster and he didn't know it yet.

He was growing after all.
