Oliver's POV
Merlyn had dislocated the first attacker's shoulder in a single fluid movement. The attacker went down screaming in pain while the second tried to help his comrade. Unlike Oliver, Malcolm was not stunned by the explosion.
Instead, he took out both attackers before Oliver could really do anything. The explosion had triggered a memory within his mind. As much as he wanted to know more about his past this was not the place for a flashback. He could only stave it off long enough to see the second go down.
Flashback
"Snake Lady, Snake Lady! Respond! What are your sector coordinates?"
They were heading into Tam Quan and Delta would not break silence. He knew where they were and that was all that mattered. Command Saigon could go to hell, he wasn't about to give the North Vietnam monitoring posts an inkling as to where they were going.
"If you won't or can't respond, Snake Lady, stay below six hundred feet! This is a friend talking, you assholes! You don't have many down here! Their radar will pick you up over six-fifty."
I know that Saigon and my pilot knows it, even if he doesn't like it, and I still won't break silence.
"Snake Lady, we've completely lost you! Can any retard on that mission read an air map?"
Yes, I can read one very well, Saigon. Do you think I'd go up with my team trusting any of you? Goddamnit, that's my brother down there! I'm not important to you but he is!
"Snake Lady, Snake Lady! Abort! If you can hear me, get out of there and return to base camp. It's a no-win! Do you read me? Abort!."
"What do you want to do, Delta?"
"Keep flying, mister. In three more minutes, you can get out of here."
"That's me. What about you and your people?"
"We'll make it."
"You're suicidal, Delta."
"Tell me about it.… All right, everyone check your chutes and prepare for cast-off. Someone help Echo, put his hand on the cord."
"Déraisonnable!"
His eyes were on fire! Fire!
Explosions and darkness, high winds, and pain.… Almanac to Delta! Abandon, abandon! You will respond as ordered. Abandon!
End of flashback
A hand on his shoulder startled him out of his flashback. Wild grey eyes scanned the room. His mind still thinking him to be within the hell forest of Tam Quan.
Ice blue eyes stared into his grey ones and a mouth was moving. Through the pounding in his ears, he couldn't hear what was being said. He could however see two unfamiliar men with their necks broken.
Oliver took several deep breaths trying to center himself. It took a few moments but the pounding in his ears went away. He could hear Merlyn trying to talk him down from a panic attack.
He stood brushing off the arm as he did so. The situation did not require his attention anymore but he still checked on the elevator. It wasnt in working order and they had a slim to none chance of fixing it. Great. Just what he needed.
Merlyn said standing, "Good you're back. Follow me there is another way out."
Oliver followed no longer letting his wary nature control him. Merlyn saved him from those looking to kill. He held back when he was trying to control Oliver.
They went to a far wall where a titanium door was. Merlyn pressed his hand into a scanner allowing it the read his palm before the door is open. They made their way down emergency stairs. Several times they had to stop to allow Oliver time to recover.
His wounds were healed but he still wasnt at 100% yet. Worry in the ice-blue eyes made him push past his limits on several occasions. When they finally reached the bottom floor they had to pause again.
Oliver's side felt as if it was going to split open. A hand went around the back of his neck and pushed his head down. A sense of calm went through him and he didn't have the urge to fight the man this time.
Malcolm checked the street before they left. The omega froze when he felt a rush of anger and jealously across his bond with Ra's.
"What is it?" Questioned Malcolm.
Oliver's eyes began to search the streets as the pressure on his neck was released. There was no reason for the other to feel jealous unless he was here. So where was he?
To Malcolm, he replied, "Ra's is here."
That had the alpha immediately stepped away. His ice-blue eyes searched the streets. There was uncertainty in his body language and fear. So much fear in the alpha's body language. What did Al Saher have to fear so much?
Malcolm said suddenly, "Those men weren't from the League. If anything I suspect they belong to whoever you work for."
So he worked for someone that wasnt the League. Who? Who had all this power to send someone after him in other countries?
A blurred face of a man went across his mind. As soon as it came it was gone again. There wasn't anything to identify the person by either.
Oliver staggered with the memory of a face. White-hot coals burned within his mind. It was excruciating.
Something or someone pushed Malcolm away from him. Warm hands and a familiar scent encased him. Ra's...
A voice muffled by the pounding in his head and ears said, "Oliver... Habib breath. You need to breathe."
Oliver took in a shaky breath as he replied, "Don't kill him... Ra's don't."
Then his eyes rolled up into the back of his head and he collapsed.
Merlyn's POV
Breaking free of Al Sayf was no easy task on a good day. Normally he wouldn't have considered it at all. Al Sayf was the strongest member of the League. However, Oliver was his son and seeing him collapse made him slightly unreasonable.
Checking Oliver over he found that the omega was just unconscious. He ran through the tests that he learned from Rebecca. She always made sure that those around her knew first aid and how to check for concussions.
Grey eyes clouded was worrying but with the younger's lack of memories and identity issues, it made sense. Oliver was going to be fine once he came out of this. Malcolm was about to sling the man's arm around his shoulders when he felt the touch of cold steel on his neck.
