The Rat Trap.. One of the seediest locations on the river front.. Andrew winced at the smell of the rotted fish and sea water. To any sailor it would be a welcoming smell. But to any mouse walking along the pier. It was nauseating. He muttered "Bums.." He kicked an empty bottle across the rickety wooden staircase. Pulling his hood close, he walked into the bar.
Walking in, he immediately nodded at the barman, a gruff looking fellow with a bartender uniform on. The man nodded as he saw Andrew sit. The barmaid, with her navy blue dress, pushed a drunk out of the way to Andrew "What's your baggage mate," she began "You look all kinds of blue.."
"Lucy, I've been better." he combed a hand through his rough brown hair "I'm supposed to meet with someone tonight, a friend recommended me to him. I'm strugglin with the boss as of late..."
She shuddered and hushed him "No, don't mention the name, bad for business." she rubbed her arms on her light apron "Whos the bloke coming in?"
Andrew rolled his eyes "Eh, some rich boy.. He's looking for intel on someone, I have no clue."
The door to the rat trap opened again, a caped figure walked through. Andrew and Lucy watched at the caped man walking in mysteriously, pushing his way through all the seats to the barman. The barman pointed at Andrew's table.
The hooded figure quickly sat and took off their hood "Hello, Andrew I'm guessing?"
Lucy patted Andrews back "Good luck." Andrew nodded at the figure. He pulled out his hand "Elijah Lockson at your service sir.. Perhaps you've heard of me?"
Andrew shrugged his shoulders, Elijah rolled his eyes Thank you for meeting with me."
"Some shiner you got there." Andrew ignored the handshake and crossed his arms. Elijah gently touched his eye, colors of black and purple surrounding it "Yes, there was some trouble in my prison cell, apparently my social stature was offensive to my cellmates.."
"Why were you locked up?"
"Interfering with the authorities.." he cleared his throat "Now, back to business.." he cleared his throat "I'm looking for someone.."
Andrew leaned back in his chair "Theres a lot of people out here.."
"A Miss Rosalie Hampstead." Andrew paused, knowing to keep his cool in the face of nosy mice "Who's asking.."
"I'm her fiancé." he placed a picture of her from the paper on the table "We were to be wed soon, and I've heard some rumors that she's buried alive within these very sewers."
He shrugged his shoulders "Eh... I don't know the girl." Elijah slapped his hands on the table, causing a couple other tables to stare right at them "Look you bottom feeder, don't mess with me. I've been searching all over London for her and I will NOT let you tell me you don't know where she is.." he pulled out the ribbon from the day before "Does this refresh your memory? a sweet little ribbon, I'm sure your boss doesn't wear these in his fur?" he smelled the ribbon "The smell of white roses, peculiar, the same refreshing perfume as my beloved.. That I found in the old uninhabited lair of Professor Ratigan." Andrew's eyes faltered, gazing at the ribbon he had forgotten "Now, you're going to tell me all you know." he twisted the ribbon in his hands "Or I'll have to wander back to Scotland yard this time, as a witness to a kidnapping eh?"
A pause... Andrew had to be wise..
He had to surrender "She's with us.. But I have no authority to release her."
"Don't tell me.. The Rat does." he said bitterly.
Andrew defended his bosses honor "Ratigan as the girl. I don't interfere with my bosses affairs. I've found that It's more difficult to keep her in our space. More and more people are getting suspicious that she's here.. They want a piece of the pie. Why the rush cream puff?"
"I need her now. It's very important that we are married soon." he sighed heavily "She means a lot to me as of now and I need her back as soon as possible." Andrew rose a brow "Is it her that you want or her money?" There was a hesitant moment. Andrew shrugged his shoulders "Get in line." he laughed "The boss is ransoming her for her money too.."
"How loyal are you?" Elijah asked. He plopped a bag of money on the table. Elijah grinned "Because I can offer you more than he is at the moment.." he leaned his feet on the table "If not, I can find some other stooge of his to do the job.. Maybe Fidget, that's the bat's name right?" he laughed again "So Andrew.. When is he letting her go and where can I get her."
"He won't let her! I've already told you." he stubbornly crossed his arms
Elijah pulled his cape close "Well, does she speak of me?"
"Umm.. Well, not often." Andrew watched him scowl and added "He's very adamant on keeping her as long as he can.. It's quite annoying to be perfectly honest. He's busy giving her the life on the town, giving her presents, and dresses and the like."
Elijah scoffed "What does he love her or-"
"Trust me, If I knew I'd tell someone." Andrew leaned his arm on the table "Now, what does a kid like you want from someone like him?"
"I want my fiance.. And I want to get even."
Andrew snatched the bag of coins and stuffed it into his pocket "Fine. You've got my attention for the next 15 mins."
"I want you to give me as many details as you can about..."
Rosalie continued to weep all through the night, until she finally fell asleep. Awakening, she looked around her to see flowers of all kinds surrounding her, hydrangeas, roses, lilies, peonies of all sizes in her room. Rolling her eyes, she sneezed at the amount of pollen. She was confused. Getting up, she noticed one of the notes written in Fidget's hand "Deer Roosaly, Da boss is soree. Luv FIdGet." Sighing heavily, she placed the note down and changing into her regular blue dress. As it was before, no more elegant dresses, or jewels. Rosalie sighed at her plan appearance again. Adjusting her necklace, she wiped any remaining tears and walked out of the barrel, but not before looking at her jail cell. Taking one look at the flowers in the room, she began picking them up and throwing them outside of her room. The job was done within an hour, after dusting off her hands, she stepped down the steps of the barrel and walked into the kitchen. All the boys watched as she confidently walked into the kitchen to do her job only. The children met her in the kitchen, waiting in the doorway.
Victoria walked in first "Good morning Miss Rosalie."
The woman turned, facing the little girl "Oh.. Victoria.." she knelt down to the girls height "I'm sorry about what you heard last night."
Victoria quickly squeezed the girl hard around the waist "Please don't forget about us! We promise we'll never forget you! You've made us so happy!"
Rosalie patted the girl on the back, and allowing Alex and P.J to arrive at her side. She wrapped her arms around all three of them "Oh you three mean the world to me. I would never forget you all!" She stood. Victoria chirped "Does that mean you forgive the professor?"
Rosalie hesitated "No.. No I don't."
Alex sat on the small bench, Handing P.J to Victoria "Look, I'd be mad to if someone lied to me.. But can't you forgive him just a little?"
Rosalie sighed, placing her hands on the table "No. I either forgive fully..or not at all. I just don't understand why... why would he hide it from me.." wiping one more tear. She turned to see Ratigan and the rest of the boys walking in, sitting at the small wooden table at the corner of the room. The boss looked tired, bags under his eyes. The children took notice of this, knowing he'd been talking all night about it.
Rosalie scowled at him, standing up from the sudden coldness of the room and attending to her chores. Fidget tugged at his boss's cape "Now, do it sir!"
Ratigan adjusted his cape, walking to Rosalie "Hello Rosalie. Good morning."
She huffed "Hm." and grabbed a plate, hurrying to the other boys. She suddenly smiled "Good morning Phil, Stanley, Jorge!" she patted them on the backs, allowing them to smile with her, she handed them plates as she patted Stanley's arm. With a grin, she patted him "Stanley, how's that arm?"
Stanley grinned at her, and patted her hand "Oh wonderful Miss, you're a true saint to help mend it after that bar fight!"
She shook her head "Just try to be more careful, and no more fighting!" she said with a laugh. Ratigan appeared at her side again "I was hoping you would be calm enough to speak to me my dear." he watched her pause, back faced towards him and then continue serving the boys "Fidget! I saved you some biscuits from yesterday's dinner since you couldn't join us!"
He stuffed his face full of food and mumbled "Thank you miss!" a bit of food appeared at his mouth, and Rosalie handed him a napkin "Here you go Fidget!"
"Rosalie? Are you listening?"
She gently smiled at everyone else, ignoring his glare "I am, just not bothering to give you any attention." she quickly dodged past him again, carrying plates in her hands.
"Are you still angry."
She took a breath "Oh I'm still angry, I'm furious."
"Why?" he said "You were bound to figure out somehow."
"Well that clears the air... and why you ask? Because you completely betrayed my trust, lied to me, tricked me, and played with my emotions."
"If you gave me a chance to explain-" he blocked her way to the children on the opposite direction, she swiftly walked right under his open arms to the table "Good morning children! How about we go to the library for a bit today, then we can teach Felicia some new tricks."
"Now Rosalie I command you to listen to me!"
The room fell into an awkward silence, Fidget dropped his fork. Rosalie slowly turned, still holding plates in her arms "You command me? I'm not one of your lemmings!" she barked. His brows furrowed "If you won't listen to me, I will force you too!"
"Oh I'm so scared!" at this reply, the boys gasped at her insolence. Ratigan looked at them, she couldn't be doing this, he thought, "You're very bold to be speaking to me like that!"
"Fine. Do away with me.. I don't care. My whole life twisted upside down because of you! And like an idiot I put up no fight!" She slammed the plates on the floor, watching them shatter into a million pieces, and marched out of the kitchen, running to her prison cell once more.
"Women!" he shouted to the vengeful sky. Looking at the table, he rolled his eyes and took out the bell to have them avoid gawking at the sight. Stepping over the plates, his booming voice echoed "Clean up this mess.. NOW!"
The sound of a door slamming, once again, back in his office.
Victoria looked over at her brother "Well, we're back at step one."
"This is their fight... we'll need to but out for a bit."
Victoria whispered "We need to set this right at least..This is the worse fight I've seen before he rescued her."
Alex huffed "Maybe we should lie low.. He's pretty mad."
A while later, Rosalie emerged once more, noticeable tears in her eyes still. Hoping that the boss was in some other place. She couldn't take it anymore. Fidget hobbled out of the barrel, with a pencil and paper in hand. His little peg leg clopping on the hard floor. Rosalie sniffled, watching the little bat hobble towards her. He stopped in front of her "M-Miss."
"Yes Fidget?"
"I w-was hoping you'd um..." his hands started to shake, holding the little pencil and crinkled paper. Rosalie managed to grin, "You want me to teach you how to write?"
Fidget nodded "I'm not good at it.. And I need help." he looked at the floor, disappointed at himself, as if he was expecting to be ridiculed. Rosalie quirked a brow "You never learned?" Fidget shook his head "Only a little, and it was a while ago.. I was thinkin.. You're a smart lady and-"
Rosalie nodded "No need to explain yourself, let's go into the library." Fidget immediately perked up "Erm really toots?"
"Sure." she laid out her hand for her to grab it "Well come on." They began to walk, Fidget grabbing her hand quickly "Wow, I'm excited." He cackled with glee, holding the girls hand.
Alex quickly walked to the study, swiftly knocking on the door "Professor?"
"What?" he said bitterly from the other side of the door. Alex walked in, timidly stepping forward "I don't think you should be sulking in here."
"Who does she think she is?! I could kill her with one sweep of my paw! That girl is on my last nerve." he growled "I could feed her to Felicia! Sentence her to death! Wrap her against a pole on the pier! The high tide will drown her faster than Felicia can digest her!" Picking up a small glass, he was about to throw it, then took a breath, calmly placing it down.
"Some talk." he crossed his arms "If you really despised her, you'd get rid of her by now. Should I go get the rope for the pier tieing or do you wanna handle it?" Alex raised a brow in suspicion "She's just upset. How would you feel if you were lied to for weeks that no one cared about you?"
"I didn't lie to her... I just hid some information that would ruin my plans!"
Alex shook his head and Ratigan scoffed "Well what would have you done?"
"I would ask to court a woman before you kidnapped her."
The professor grumbled, annoyed by his nephews sentiment. Alex sat at the chair across from his dark wood desk "You know you're just as stubborn as she is." he watched his uncle pace the desk "How can you expect any compassion or even love when you refuse to face the facts." Alex leaned back in the chair "I know about the deadline you've set for her release.." He watched his uncle pause and Alex continued "I hope you know we're all gonna miss her... Fidget, Bill, Andrew.. Us... and maybe-"
"Maybe I should... Attempt to sympathize with her."
"Who knows? This could be the last time you ever see her! You'd want to at least mend one thing.. Besides the kidnapping... and blackmail... and enforced labor... and lying.. And treachery.." He said with a small crack in his voice. With a laugh Ratigan patted him on the shoulder "You remind me so much of them. You are very mature for your years." he said. Alex nodded "I had to grow up a little fast." his ears flapped down, saddened "I really miss them.. Sometimes its hard to lead when I don't have them to guide me." wiping a tear quickly from his eye, he tried to play it off.
"I think they would be VERY proud of you." Ratigan patted him on the back, a new motion of affection for him.
"Thank you professor." Alex said.
"You may call me Uncle if you'd like.." he said, his voice calming and suprisinly kind. The both of them shared a moment. Alex shared with him a lopsided grin. Ratigan nodded "Well, now It's time to write a very small wrong.. Where is she?"
Alex crossed his arms again, smirking "You're not gonna believe it when I tell you."
In the Library, Fidget sighed heavily pushing the paper away from him "Oh man this is hard."
"No, you can do it! Have faith in yourself Fidget!" She moved the paper towards him once more "Now let's try your name again." Fidget grabbed the pencil in his small hands. Rosalie encouraging him:
"F..." She started
He hesitated, Rosalie nodding in approval "Next." she said.
"Y?"
Rosalie swiftly moved to the list, making Fidget flinch slightly. Rosalie gently patted his back "It's okay.. We'll do it together." she pointed to the 'I' on the list.
"F... I... D..." Fidget grasped the pencil a little too hard. Rosalie touched his paw "No need to choke the pencil Fidget, be gentle." Fidget nervously nodded "G...E...T.." as he crossed the 'T' Rosalie clapped "Fidget! Good job! You just finished writing your own name!"
"Heh-Heh heh! I did it didn't I?" He held up the paper, of course the writing was subpar, a little sloppy and shaky on some letters, but it was accomplished. Rosalie hugged him "I'm so proud of you!"
"R-Really?" he blushed, feeling her embrace. Rosalie nodded "Of course! You just need to get past your nerves and do it!" sitting at the small writing desk, she moved a hair from her face "What motivated you to write?"
"Well.. There's this girl.." he began to blush. Rosalie stifled a laugh "Oh! It's a girl. And you wanted to write her a letter of affection I'm guessing?" She saw Fidget nod "She's real nice and I want to impress her.. I was gonna see her tonight and give her the letter."
And she nodded in suit "I see. Well, just make sure to write with all the kindness in your heart, and the correct grammar of course." they both laughed "And be honest." She added.
Fidget turned to her "Still mad huh?"
Rosalie crossed her arms and nodded "After I thought we were actually getting along.. I'd rather him kill me than continue torturing me." Fidget scooted closer "Cmon Rosie, he ain't that bad." Raising an eyebrow at him, he looked at the door to confide in her "I know he's a little mean.. And lied to you.. But he's real loyal." he looked at his leg "Heck, he's been there for me since the beginning. That's why he does the things he does." he slowly grinned "Miss, I think he lied to you... because he cares about you. It's weird to think that but I have a feeling in my gut it's to protect you in some way." Rosalie softened "I just don't understand why he couldn't just tell me. We were getting so close." She scoffed "Can you imagine me getting close with someone who took me away from my family?"
Fidget shrugged his shoulders "I don't know either. It might have made sense in his head.. Sometimes people do stupid things when they care too much." Rosalie patted his back "Thank you Fidget, you're a good friend."
"And you're a great teacher toots!" they both laughed.
Outside the door, Ratigan and Alex both heard the laughter "At least she's in a better mood." Alex said hopefully. Ratigan adjusted his cape, and took a breath, Alex patted his large back "Try not to kill her." Alex opened the doors and Rosalie's face immedietly whipped to the door. Her eyes turned to stone, she tried her best to remain her composure. She heard the swift steps of his shoes on the floor, her fur bristled "Now Fidget, let's keep going.."
"Fidget, what are you doing?" Ratigan asked smoothly.
Fidget stuttered "I-I I'm learning to write boss... Like for the letters you make me write for ya."
Rosalie shook her head "Oh good.. I'm teaching for a negative purpose." she took a breath. Ratigan moved closer. Rosalie bit her lip "Let's start on a new phrase." she cleared her throat "Please..."
Fidget nodded happily, "P-L-E-A-S-E.."
Rosalie nodded "Good... Now 'Go'."
Ratigan quirked a brow "What phrase is this?"
Fidget happily dictated "G-O." he chuckled "What's next"
Clearing her throat "Away, Professor.. I do not wish to see you." she sat up quickly and began to walk out. Fidget nodding begun to write, then raised his eyebrow shouting after her "Is that one long phrase or?..." he chuckled "I'll get it.. Don't worry!"
Ratigan growled "Rosalie! Wait!"
Marching after her, Rosalie begun to walk to her cell, Ratigan swiftly walked in front of her making her stop "Please move."
"I would like to speak to you!"
"Didn't you read Fidgets note? I don't wish to speak to you." She turned, her ponytail whipping him on the nose. He scoffed "Where are you going to go?"
"I'm gonna sweep the floor again!"
"You already swept it my dear." he leaned on the barrels wall, smirking. Rosalie blew heavily through her lips "You are so INFURIATING!"
"I would like to speak to you-"
Rosalie furiously stomped her foot down "Fine! Speak to me! You'll never let me leave until you get the last word anyway!"
"I am trying to understand what's wrong with you." he started. Alex face palmed himself and muttered from behind one of the barrels "Oh no... wrong move, wrong move."
Rosalie looked up at him, in disbelief "What's wrong with me?" scoffing again "You had me kidnapped, taking me away from my only non related family member, my aunt, and Elijah-"
Ratigan's ears perked up "Who's Elijah?"
"My fiance. Anyway you took-"
"Lockson?" he asked, his eyes widening like two bright full moons. Rosalie rolled her eyes "Yes! Now that we're past the formalities, Elijah Lockson is my fiance." wiping her hands on her skirt, she continued, "You took me away-" she heard a muffled laugh." looking up, she noticed Ratigan, hiding his laughter hard with his hand. Rosalie's mouth went agape "Is something funny?'
"Elijah..." he snorted "Lockson.. Is your fiance..? Pfffft." he grinnned wide, trying to remain his composure." Rosalie shrugged her shoulders "Yes. We've already established that!"
"BAAAAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA!" he released his laughter, bellowing through the entire lair, he almost fell over, keeping his hands on his knees saved him from toppling. Rosalie crossed her arms "What are you laughing for?"
"Oh... OH!" he grabbed his stomach "My dear, Elijah Lockson is the biggest joke on this side of England!" he cackled again, "And you're the poor girl who has to MARRY HIM!" He wheezed and wiped a tear "Oh dear, I haven't laughed that hard in a while!" Rosalie's brows furrowed "What do you mean?"
"Didn't anyone tell you to get to know someone before you decide to wed?" he took his arm around her, needing support from his laughing fit "Elijah Lockson is a fraudulent little twerp," he guided her through the lair to the main barrel "He's completely unfit to own his father's inheritance.. And I've heard he's blew it all on gambling debts and cheap and unfit investments.. He's very unorthodox, and wouldn't be surprised he loves you for your money!"
"Y-You're lying!" Rosalie said, her green eyes filling up with tears.
Ratigan sat on his throne "He has no money!" he chuckled again "His bank accounts in London have all gone into the gutter.. He gets his money from very stupid women keen on companionship." not knowing he hit a nerve with her, Insulted the tears began to fall "No-No! Elijah loves me..." she gazed at her ring. Ratigan walked down to her "I believe he only loves your money.." taking her hand and looking at her ring "Hmm.. It seems that diamond is a fake as well.. I wouldn't be surprised if your finger turns green."
Taking her hand and holding it close, she became defensive "No... You're just jealous!"
"Why would I be jealous of a love that isn't based on real love?"
She placed her hands on her face in frustration "Why are you torturing me!?"
"I'm trying to help you!" Ratigan placed a hand on her shoulder "You'll regret it the rest of your life if you marry him."
Rosalie flinched, backing up, Ratigan noticed the tears in her eyes and finally realized what he did. He really hurt her, he's really messed it up "Rosalie.. I... um..."
Rosalie ran off, hearing her sob, then a door shut once more.
Alex appeared in the doorway "Well.. You didn't apologize.. But you insulted her fiance and calling her and I quote 'a stupid woman keen on companionship' end quote."
Ratigan took a breath "Now I see what needs to be done."
Victoria walked down towards Rosalie's door, hearing the sobs of her crying. Victoria knocked on the door "Rosalie?"
"Please leave me alone.." A muffled reply. Victoria sighed, and walked off.
LATER THAT NIGHT...
Ratigan knocked on Rosalie's door, holding a plate of food in his paws "Rosalie?" opening the door, he saw her sitting on the bed, looking at her ring "I wanted to bring you some food, since you missed dinner.." he watched her, completely focused on the ring.
She slipped it back on, still looking at her hands "Maybe I am not making the right choice.." Still sitting on the bed, her eyes didn't leave her paw "He's never even asked me about me... just that I look presentable.. And that I'm beautiful.. Nothing else.. Just how I look." she shook her head "Maybe, I am an idiot.."
Ratigan grabbed her paw, not taking a single thought about it "You are not an idiot..." he hesitated "Far from it... you're intelligent, and gentle... and better with children that I ever would be.." Rosalie looked up at him, amazed at the kind words coming from him "You're kind, and passionate, and very well rounded.. Your beauty, although it is unmeasurable, is only a small faction of everything else." Rosalie's eyes softened, and so did his.. It was a pure moment.
He continued "I am not accustomed to working with others or accessing others feelings.. So... I am... sorry..I will not hide anything from you again. And you'll go home soon, no harm will come to you." he laughed slightly "It's even hard for me to admit my own hubris."
Rosalie chuckled "We have that in common." she added "Do you really think that about me?"
"I don't give empty compliments my dear..." he helped her off the bed. She smiled and squeezed his hand in return, making his heart beat fast "I forgive you.. And I'm sorry for teaching Fidget how to spell.." she laughed "I even suggested to have you get him a journal."
Ratigan laughed "Fidget is harmless."
Bill burst through the door "SIR! ROSALIE! Somethings wrong with Fidget!"
They ran down the barrels to Fidget and Bills room. Bill informed them "Y-you see.. There was this girl at the rat trap... she was flirting with Fidget, makin him feel real good, So he thought he had a chance with her! SO-"
Rosalie gasped "I taught him how to write and he sent her a letter?"
"Bingo miss!" Bill snapped his fingers. They stopped in front of the barrel "So... we found out she was just flirtin for fun... and walks in with a new guy!" sighed "He started drinking a little too much and..." opening the door "This is what happened..."
Fidget was a mess.. He was surrounded by three or four wine bottles. He was swinging around the roof of the barrel, crying out "Oh BELLAAAAA WHYYYY!" he plopped on the floor, making all three of them cringe. Rosalie groaned "Oh Fidget, I'm so sorry!"
"I wrote her a letter from my hearrrrt! Oh noooo! She didn't like it! I wrote EVERYTING right!" he threw a bottle on the wall, it bounced off the wall and hit him back on the head. Ratigan rolled his eyes "Rosalie don't worry, he does this often.. Not as drastic however." he picked up the bat in his arms "Come along Fidget, let's get you in bed."
Fidget hobbled around his boss "Bella had another man! She never even LIKED me!" Ratigan rolled his eyes "They'll be other ladies in your case I assure you... now, TO BED."
Fidget poked him on the nose "You'll have to tuck me in then!" he laughed, kicking his feet around. Rosalie grabbed a blanket and Fidget gasped "THE PRETTY LADY! OH SHE'S SO PRETTY!"
Rosalie giggled, Ratigan hushed her "No, don't encourage him!"
Fidget hopped off the bed and walked to his record player "You two need to DANCE!"
"Fidget, you're drunk! Go to bed!" Bill yelled. Fidget blew a raspberry at him and placed a record on the record player, gently getting the needle. He grabbed Rosalie by the hand, pushing her into Ratigan "Now! You'll have a chance with the pretty lady! NOW TANGO!" the tango began, a haunting melody. Rosalie was pushed into his chest, feeling the strongness of his pectorals. Ratigan rolled his eyes "He won't go to bed if we don't" he took her hands in his, and she hesitated "I-I can't dance... very well."
Ratigan nodded "It's alright.." they began and she stepped on his foot. Ratigan stopped and motioned her head to meet his eyes "If I can learn to apologize, you can dance..." they began, sweeping out of the barrel and into the main part of the lair, the music blaring. Fidget leaned on the barrel to make sure they were dancing per his request. Bill scratched his head, but watched anyway.
Rosalie began to smile, feeling the rhythm of the soft tango. As the music swelled, the children snuck behind a barrel to sneak a peak. Victoria sighed "Oh it's so romantic..." she sighed again, watching the two dance. Ratigan dipped her, swinging her around to his side. She continued to gaze into his bright yellow eyes, falling under the spell. They began to slow down, hearing the sound of snoring, turning around, Fidget was falling asleep in his spot, he immediately woke up with a shock and shouted "TANGO!"
Continuing to dance, Rosalie chirped with glee "I can't believe I'm dancing! "
He grinned "You're doing very well." he dipped her again as the music began to come to an end, and spun her out to his arms. They both looked into each others eyes, going closer and closer together. Ratigan cleared his throat and patted her hands "Elijah has a one of a kind dance partner coming back to him.."
Rosalie, confused, shook her head out of her trance "Of course... thank you Ratigan.."
"You may call me.. James if you like.."
"Thank you, James." the children silently cheered at the moment, although their objective was on another term. Alex whispered "We don't have much time, we're almost there!"
Andrew appeared through the gate right at the end of the dance.. Rolling his eyes he muttered "We don't have much time.. I have to stop this from happening." and back through the grate he went.
