A/N Sorry for the wait, the move has been successfully completed. Shout out to my wonderful girlfriend who has been very helpful in being an inspiration and for helping me edit this update. Hope you enjoy!

Villanelle strolled back in nonchalantly an hour later, surprising Eve who had been trying to read but was really just lost in thoughts about her conversation with Eight. She didn't know what she was going to do but right now it didn't matter, the assassin broke her out of her thoughts as soon as she walked in.

Eve had expected her to be back sooner but she didn't say anything. Mentally, she had prepared herself in anticipation of the assassin having qualms about her secrecy. Expecting to contend with a barrage of questions and accusations, she was fully prepared to argue with her. Upon seeing the assassin's blank expression she was feeling less like they were going to argue and more like she was going to get the cold shoulder.

"How was it out there?" Eve asked tentatively, as the assassin set down the plethora of bags on the table, barely glancing in her direction at all.

"Fine," The blonde answered curtly and turned back to her holding two bags of take-out food.

Eve looked at her incredulously. "Nothing interesting happened?"

"Nope," Villanelle answered quickly, setting one of the bags on Eve's lap.

"You were gone for a while," Eve took the assassin's hand. "Almost thought you weren't coming back,"

"You could have just tracked me," Villanelle took a heaping bite of her dinner and shrugged. "But what would you have done if I didn't?"

They held each other's gaze and Eve thought for a moment while she looked deeply into those frostbitten eyes. "I don't know,"

Villanelle narrowed her eyes at that and stopped eating. "What do you mean you don't know?"

"If you decided to disappear, I would hunt for you to the ends of the fucking Earth until the end of all time until I found you, but," Eve sighed and she was going to continue but Villanelle cut her off.

"In an angry kind of way or like you miss me kind of way?"

"Both, but mostly the former. I would look for you, but only after I dealt with some other things first,"

"I see," Villanelle looked back to her food. "Should I even ask what happened while I was gone?"

"You heard bits and pieces, there's not much else to it,"

"One of the other council members?"

Eve just nodded.

"Why did you tell him I died in the crash?"

"Because I don't trust him, especially because I think you were right,"

Villanelle looked at her inquisitively. "How so?"

"You heard him, someone else on the council was definitely behind this, I just don't know if I trust it was who he said it was," Eve explained. "Enough of that though, we can discuss this later, I don't want to think about it anymore, what did you get?"

"Clothes, phones, food, like you asked, and..." Villanelle got up and dug through one of the bags. "I got you something too,"

"Oh?"

Villanelle rifled through the bags some more and pulled out a small box and pushed it unceremoniously into Eve's hands. "You're going to love it,"

Eve just looked at her. "You sound pretty sure of yourself,"

Villanelle just flashed her signature smirk and nodded. "I am,"

Eve opened the small box and gasped a little. It was a gorgeous black and gold bracelet, complete with engraved tag, similar to that of Villanelle's, but instead of their initials on either side, it had a date on one side, and their first initials were together on the other. Eve smiled. "It's precious," She gave Villanelle a quick kiss.

"I told you you'd like it," The blonde said smugly.

"Oh yes, I'm so glad I bought it for myself," Eve jabbed at her while admiring the bracelet, earning a hurt look from the assassin.

"Well I picked it out," Villanelle folded her arms carefully.

Eve put a hand on her cheek. "I know, I appreciate it,"

Villanelle carefully helped Eve put it on, feeling satisfied knowing Eve liked it, but something was nagging at her. "Thank you, now help me up," Eve broke the peaceful silence between them.

"Up?"

"Yeah, I'm tired of laying here," Eve edged herself to the side of the bed. "I'd appreciate your assistance," Villanelle nodded and found the wheelchair for her. She wrapped her good arm carefully around her boss's midsection and helped her into the chair. She could tell Eve was in a lot of pain, but her boss tried to hide it as best she could.

"You good?" She asked her after a moment.

"Mhmm. Yup. Totally perfect," Eve said through gritted teeth.

"You are a liar, Eve," Villanelle pushed her out of the room and into the open space of the warehouse.

"Yes, well, you must understand that, after all, we are not different," Eve did her best to breathe through the searing pain she felt.

The assassin did not speak for a while after that, she just listened to Eve's ragged breathing and her sharp inhales every time they rolled over a bump in the floor. "So what comes next then?"

Eve managed to twist around to look up at the assassin. "We can still watch a movie or two if you'd like,"

"I didn't mean that,"

"Paris is on the agenda now, after a quick stop to see how the other assets are getting on,"

Villanelle thought this over for a moment and wheeled Eve back toward their room. "What is your goal here?"

Villanelle helped her back into the bed. "What do you mean?" She looked at her breathlessly.

"I mean was this all your fault? Were you behind all of this so you could run the council?" Villanelle narrowed her eyes at her boss.

"Do you understand how insane that sounds? You think I staged a plane crash, sent conflicting information to my council members, and played dumb, just so I could take over?" Eve couldn't even believe she was having this conversation. "Do you hear how that sounds? The mechanics of a plane crash make it almost impossible to predict who will survive, if anyone, why would I have taken that chance? Not to mention, if I knew what was going on, I wouldn't have been standing, I easily could have died,"

Villanelle shrugged. "I had to ask,"

"No, you didn't, you're smarter than that. What's bothering you really?"

"Nothing,"

"Now who's lying?"

"Still you," Villanelle grumbled. "Let's just watch this stupid movie,"

Eve rolled her eyes and pulled out her laptop. "Well, what are we watching?"

"You choose. What's your favorite movie?"

"Nope this is for you, what is your favorite movie?"

"50 First Dates,"

"You can't be serious," Eve just laughed and Villanelle looked away. "Gods, you are serious, wow. Okay come here," Eve offered her her hand.

"Why can't I like it?" The assassin huffed as she moved to lay down next to her.

"Because! Because you're you!"

"I don't think that is a good reason why I can't like it,"

"Out of all the movies?" Eve looked over at her incredulously as she pulled the movie up. "Why?"

"I want to be like them,"

"How so? You realize one of them can't make new memories right?"

"He just loves her so much, they feel so much. I want to feel love like that, I want to be like they are, falling in love every day," Villanelle sighed but didn't look away.

Eve was a little shocked by that response, but she just pulled the assassin close to her. "Alright, Vill,"

Villanelle was focused on the movie, but it wasn't as interesting to Eve, not as interesting as watching the assassin's expressions was. Villanelle snuggled closer to her toward the end and Eve just held her. She thought it was a sad movie and she couldn't imagine not being able to make new memories. How horrible. The blonde did have a point though, there was so much love between the two characters that she could understand why Villanelle would be envious of that. The assassin claimed to feel some things, but Eve wondered how far those feelings could actually go.

"Thank you," Villanelle looked happily up at her as the credits finally rolled. "Your turn?"

"To what?" Eve yawned.

"To choose, what's your favorite movie?" The blonde prompted.

Eve thought for a moment, she hadn't watched a movie in a long time. "V for Vendetta,"

"Sound's weird," The assassin remarked as she leaned her head back on Eve's shoulder.

"It has its weird moments for sure, but overall, I find the characters Evey and V as well as their cause very relatable, as I'm sure you'll see," Eve explained tiredly.

"Evey and V, huh? Sounds familiar," Villanelle surmised with a grin.

"As I said, very relatable," Eve started the movie. She had seen it several times now, but it captivated her every time.

"Remember Remember the Fifth of November…" The narrator began. As a non-British native, Villanelle was mildly confused and turned to Eve.

"Is that supposed to mean something and is the whole movie going to be filled with their weird rhyming?"

Eve sighed and paused it. "Yes of course it means something! The first lines in a movie are usually some of the most important, just as are the last. it is a British holiday celebrating the uncovering of the plot against the crown, which you would know if you watched the movie, and no, the movie is not all rhyming, mostly just V does that,"

Villanelle nodded thoughtfully and Eve unpaused it again.

Only a few minutes later, as soon as V's most famous monologue to all of London ended, Villanelle turned to her again. "This is basically what the twelve wants,"

"Just as the government in this fictional reality is oppressive, so are the governments of today, the people just don't realize it because it isn't quite as blatant as this. But yeah, V is basically you, the hand of the twelve," Eve explained.

"And Evey?"

"Evey is the one that is interesting to watch. V is dashing and charming, but watching Evey go through this incredibly painful transformation to where she finally is able to understand what V is trying to do and ultimately believing in that cause herself, that is the interesting part," Eve explained.

"Don't spoil it, I've never seen it!" Villanelle yelped, making Eve chuckle a little. "Is there any romance or just this fake action?"

"You'll be happy there's a tiny hint of romance toward the end, and I'm sorry the movie fights aren't realistic enough for you," Eve said. She watched Villanelle's expressions throughout the rest of the movie.

"Artists use lies to tell the truth, while politicians use them to cover the truth up," - Villanelle listened intently to the characters banter on screen. All this discussion about lies and truths made her conscious again of the fact Eve has been incessantly lying to her at every turn. She shouldn't care, but it bothered her. Why, was the question, and she couldn't logic a reason that made sense, but it was getting tiring. Eve was her boss, but the way she made it seem, she had other things to contend with other than her right now. She let herself and her thoughts drift back into the characters, but Eve's constant betrayals were not far from her mind.

During the final scenes Eve was having trouble keeping her eyes open, but Villanelle was glued to the screen. "Eve, does he die? Tell me no, Eve, tell me no,"

"Hmm? Oh, just watch it, Vill," She said tiredly, but she knew the assassin was going to be disappointed.

"That was so sad," Villanelle huffed when the credits rolled.

"Why?"

"Because he died! And she loved him! And he loved her!" Villanelle argued.

"Yeah, but he accomplished his goals, he died for what he believed in, he died making the changes he wanted to see in the world, isn't that worth it?"

"No! He could have had the girl! If he was smarter, he could have done both," Villanelle grumbled.

"Vill, come on, he was consumed by his need for revenge and consumed by his mission, there was no other end for him, it's pretty inspirational actually," Eve said thoughtfully.

"What would you have done?"

"I would have died," Eve stated. "Like he said, 'ideas are bulletproof' and I would die to propel the ideas of the twelve,"

"You are crazy, I would have chosen…"

"Yes yes, you would have chosen a life with the girl while the rest of society suffered," Eve rolled her eyes.

"That would have been preferable to death by like fifty bullets!" the assassin protested.

"Mhmm, okay, good thing that isn't real life, and you do not have that option," Eve rolled over and closed her eyes. "Job first, love later,"

Villanelle laid next to her. "Yeah, right, of course," She said solemnly to herself.

"Goodnight, Vill," Eve whispered.

"G'night Eve," Villanelle replied softly.

Eve fell asleep quickly, but everything Eve had said and more importantly not said, swirled around in the assassin's thoughts keeping her awake for hours until she came to a conclusion.

The next morning Eve woke to find herself alone. Villanelle was gone. On the table next to her were the red jewelry pieces Eve had given her, and a note that only contained two words.

"Sorry Baby," was written in big cursive letters and underlined with X's and O's.

"Shit,"
