Fitz let himself in Olivia's apartment and turned on a light. She hadn't answered her phone all day. This was unlike Olivia. Even if she was busy, he knew she would call and ask about Pink. He put the car seat on the floor. Olivia was sleeping on the sofa. The coffee table was filled with cough medicine and a box of tissues. He didn't see her phone.
"Livvie." He whispered.
He didn't want to get too close if she was sick. The last thing they needed was a cold or flu with a newborn. Olivia coughed and opened her eyes. She reached on the table for some tissues.
"Fitz, what time is it?"
"It's 9:00. You haven't answered my calls all day."
"I didn't hear my phone."
"Do you have a cold?"
"I woke up with a stuffy nose, and this cough medicine isn't working fast enough."
"You can't keep Pink like this."
"Where's my baby?"
"She's here. I'm not leaving without her. You can't take care of her until you're better."
Olivia blew her nose again. She knew he was right, but she didn't know who could take care of Pink for a week.
"You have to run the world tomorrow you can't keep Pink."
"I can't be with her every minute, but I can check on her throughtout the day. Teddy's nanny can keep her while I'm working."
"I told you I don't want a nanny."
"You don't have any other options right now."
"I'll be fine. I need something warm to drink and some stronger cough medicine."
"You cannot get Pink sick. She will be back in the hospital if she gets a cold."
"I don't want anyone taking care of Pink. My baby needs me."
"I'll text you pictures of Pink. You're not breathing on her right now."
"How did she do with only formula?"
"A few tummy aches. I switched to a different brand."
"You didn't let me know you changed her formula."
"You didn't answer your phone."
Olivia looked over at pink sitting on the floor. A blanket was draped over her car seat.
"Is she sleeping?"
"Yes."
"I want to hold her before you go. I haven't seen her since Friday."
"Livvie, you can't do that. I know you miss Pink. You will be better in a week. I promise she will be okay."
Olivia's lip quivered, and she wiped her eyes. Fitz wanted to comfort her, but he couldn't risk getting sick. She grabbed a pillow and hugged it.
"I can't hold my baby until next week?"
"Maybe you will feel better in two days?"
"I hope so."
Pink stirred in her car seat and whined. Fitz wasn't removing the blanket until they were in the car. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and slumped his shoulders. He wanted to stay, but Olivia's apartment was full of germs. He could spray disinfectant, but he didn't want pink inhaling the fumes.
"I can have one my agents bring you some soup."
"Thanks."
"Goodbye Livvie."

Fitz prepared himself for another long sleepless night. Teddy was back with Mellie. It was too late in the day to call his nanny. He never called her after 6:00 unless it was an emergency. He was going to have a hard time keeping his mind on work tomorrow.
"Are you going to let me sleep tonight?" Fitz asked, kissing her cheeks and settling in the rocking chair.
He had so many thoughts. Was Olivia going to be Mellie's campaign manager? How would they have a relationship and a raise a baby with her working for his ex-wife? If Mellie became president, how would it impact his legacy? Would he always be compared to his ex-wife? What about Karen and Teddy? How was Mellie going to be the primary parent when she was running the world? Karen was graduating high school next year. She needed Mellie for guidance. Fitz didn't know if he could handle Pink and Teddy every day together. He could barely leave Teddy alone with Pink. When he looked away for a second, Teddy was trying to put stuffed animals in her crib. He worried about him accidently suffocating Pink.
Fitz closed his eyes. He forced himself to stay awake when Pink whined. He nearly forgot she was in his arms. He put her in the crib and reached in the fridge for a cold bottle of water. This experience was making him reconsider his decison of asking Olivia for two babies. Pink was enough. Angela hadn't called since he told her to stop bothering him with her problems. He still didn't know why she would think she was pregnant. They always used condoms. It wasn't possible. If she was pregnant, it wasn't his. They were done. Livvie had his complete attention. There would never be anyone else. No more flings. He was ready for Vermont.
