Good morning, all! I ended up skipping a little of the film last night. I just couldn't see him die. Nope. Like a reviewer here, I've read the Harry Potter books more than Twilight. But I read Twilight fanfiction more. lol.
A reader asked for Edward's age. It'll come up very soon. He's not that old, actually ;)
I'm blaming all mistakes on Grammarly. Well, that's my excuse, anyway lol.
Bella was in her little corner of the world, sketching her little heart out. Sometimes, like right now, she was just doodling and letting her fingers and the pencil do all the of the work. There was no rhyme or reason to the design.
This is what she loved the most. To be fluid and free-flowing. She didn't mind rules and routines. Actually, she didn't have much choice about the rules with Charlie being her dad and the routines gave her a good amount of structure, but it was always good to be fluid sometimes, too.
As Bella continued, she mused about her friendship with Alice. It seemed that anyone who met the young woman fell under her spell. She was petit, but fierce. Softly spoken but could shout louder than a megaphone when needed. Calm, but scatterbrained, too.
Alice spoke often of their little girl, Skyla. Ice blue eyes like Alice, but blonde hair like Jasper. She was petit and calm most of the time, but had an attitude, especially when she first woke up in the mornings.
Bella soaked up all the details. It was so nice to be able to have an adult conversation outside of the home. She loved talking with Charlie, but very rarely talked to other adults. They only spoke of her going off to college. It just depressed her even more.
"You know, I think we should meet up once all this crap is over. I could show you some of the pieces of art that I've done. Do you work with clay? I've done some pieces, but I can't get the firing to work right," Alice said yesterday afternoon.
Bella grinned.
"I've worked a few times with clay. It's probably not the kiln. You have to make sure you're using the right glazes and that they're all mixed properly," Bella answered.
"What are you two nattering about?" Jasper asked, coming to their corner of the gym. Edward had followed him, and Bella's heart rate picked up a little.
She gave him a little nod and he winked in reply. Yep, she swore her heart started to beat even harder.
"I was just giving my opinion to Bella about losing virginities. Is it best to go slow and ease it in or ram it in quick and get it over with?" Alice said with a sweet smile.
Bella barked out a laugh as the two men choked, turned on the spot and walked off without saying a thing.
"And that's how you get men to sod off when they're being nosey," Alice cackled.
"Alice, that was terrible!" Bella giggled.
"I know, but after you spend years with them, you work out when they're just being nosey. Honestly, they gossip worse than women sometimes," Alice grinned, shaking her head as she stood up. "Okay, break time is over. Ready to kick ass again?"
Bella was more than ready.
.
Later that night, just as Bella was drifting off to sleep, there was a loud knock at the door, then a few moments later, a few rumbling revs from a bike sounded before it clearly sped up the road.
Bella didn't have time to get to her bedroom window to see the bike. She knew it was the same rider from before, though. But why didn't she hear it pull up to her house? Why did they knock and run?
Pulling on her dressing gown, she headed back downstairs to see why they had knocked on the door at gone eleven at night.
Bella let out a huge gasp as she opened the front door and looked down.
There, on the porch, was a beautifully hand made wooden box. At least twice the size of a letter and about five inches tall. It looked like an artist's box. The type you get pencils and paints in, but this was incredibly high quality.
Picking it up and bringing it inside, she noted the dove-tail corners, the beautiful waxed wood, and the fine details of the metal fitments, but most of all, she couldn't miss the beautifully engraved wording on the top.
'Bella's Designs' was intricately carved into the wood of the lid.
Laying the box on the coffee table, she carefully opened up the object and let out a little gasp. The inside was full of new, very high-quality watercolor pencils.
"Oh, my, God!" She gasped.
On top of the pencils was a small card which simply said, 'Never Lose Your Focus' and signed with kisses.
Bella was in complete awe.
Alice cracks me up. So, what do you think of Bella's present? The bike? The rider? The note! So much more coming up. ;)
