Corpse Party- Cheap and Used
Chapter Seventeen
The bell for normal classes had officially rung, but due to Ayumi clinging to Yoshiki so hard and sobbing, he decided he'd give her a pass till third period.
He brushed her hair gently through the ends of her twin tails, twisting the ends delicately through his pointer finger and thumb.
"So.. your moms been dead for awhile huh?" He asked calmly, not exactly sure how to handle this situation.
"Yeah, both of my parents. My mom died in a freak accident involving some ritual." Ayumi blushed. "Don't think my family is in a fucking occult or something- well.. okay me and my sister used to be big in it but we stopped. Hinoe used to be so passionate with it and she had a knack at charms and I used to read tarot cards.." she shyly admitted, burying her face into his chest, sniffing. She was so comfortable being held by him from all the times he had comforted her from all her previous meltdowns. She wasn't going to fake it anymore, she really liked his touch and company.
"Tarot cards? Huh.. that reminds me of Azusa." He mumbled.
Ayumi pulled her face away from the warmth of his chest and narrowed her eyes, her squint making more tears leak out. "What is up with your obsession with her? Everything is about her now. And for what?" She bitterly snapped. There was hardly any attitude to her venomous words because of how brittle her soul was.
He cupped Ayumi's face, making her look up at him and he sighed. "She was my first love. Seeing her makes me feel confused." He admitted. "But she's actually a really selfish person. She can be a bit conniving. Her family never liked me. They didn't think I'd become of anything."
Ayumi nuzzled her face into the palm of his hand, her cheek squishing as she continued to gaze with her big blue eyes. He immensely blushed at the vulnerable cute look she gave him.
"You're literally the most annoying, conceited, but most successful person I know. They're full of shit. They probably are upset you're capable of so much more than they ever would be. Did I say that right?" She chuckled. "Trying to be a bit literate again. I used to like to read a lot.." she trailed, closing her eyes and letting delicate tears stream down her cheeks.
Yoshiki continued to gaze at her. The energy between them felt unearthly; a complete ambiance of ethereal connection he couldn't comprehend. All the things about her didn't seem so.. bad.
"Have you ever been in love?"
"No." Ayumi instantly debunked. "I think I want to know what love is, but I've never been properly loved."
Ayumi stood at her locker, finally unlocking it after 3 months. It had been a week since her weird holding session with Yoshiki.
Yoshiki cancelled all the meetings between them ever since that. She too had been avoiding Rito. Yoshiki explained that he had to plan for the arrival of new students during this new semester of classes. He tried to assure her it wasn't because of their discussion of her trauma. But it truly felt like that was a main reason of his avoidance.
As Ayumi pulled her locker door towards her, packs of cigarettes and extra panties fell out. Along with some common love letters, the most recent ironically from this morning. She bent over and scooped up her cigs and miscellaneous items.
"My oh my..!" A feminine silky voice giggled behind Ayumi. "Pink Lacey panties Ayumi-Chan? I would have ever guessed."
Ayumi's eyes went wise as she stood up, pressing her skirt down in the back. She pivoted to her side and her heart sank to her gut.
"Hi, Takai."
