It was the day of their performance, Anna had tasked that posters were to be scattered throughout the kingdom, to inform them of the evening show that was going to be performed by their "northern allies"
As night fell, the streets were still busy with foot traffic, and the stalls were still operating. The roads were illuminated by the streetlamps as the people of Arendelle roam through the festival.
Then the horns started blaring, then as if on cue the people started to crowd at the main street that led to the castle gates. The horns signaled the beginning of the performance. As the townspeople collected at the main street, at the central tower of the castle gates they saw their queen and king stand before them. They erupted in cheers as they greeted them with as much excitement and energy they had during the morning festivities.
"People of Arandelle" Anna addressed them, they all fell silent and listened intently at what their queen was gonna say "Happy Spring Festival!" she greeted them, and they erupted in cheers louder than the one before.
"Spring has come once more to gift us with its beauty and radiance, the trees are as green as ever, the flowers are in full bloom, and weather is as pleasant as ever" she started her speech.
"And today, we not only celebrate the coming of spring, but we also celebrate new friends, new bonds forged, and new allies gained " she added, the crowd cheered again as the men clinked their mugs as they drunk their pints, laughing and celebrating as one.
"Today a new bond was made, from one kingdom to another, they may be gruff, they may be blunt, but they are the new trusted allies of Arandelle" she paused as she ended her half of the speech.
"They may seem familiar to you" Kristoff started "Their great beasts were seen flying through the sky, on the first day of the festival " he said, the crowd then murmured as they reminded themselves of what they saw that day.
"And the fear of the unknown had once again touched our hearts. But let it be known that there are no beasts in our midst today" he paused again to let what he said sink in
"As a show of good faith, our new ally; the northern kingdom, have prepared a performance for us tonight " he said, as the cheers started to resound once more, " let us bear witness as the heat from their performance bring a new warmth to the cold air of the night" he finished as the crowd once again erupted in cheers.
Once the drums started the crowd slowly started settling, the deep bass of the drums resounded in their ears as they wait impatiently at what was gonna unfold before them.
As the steady pace of the drums continued, all of a sudden the crowd felt a strong gush of wind pass over them, consecutively blowing out the street lamps that illuminated their surroundings, engulfing them in darkness. As they stood in the darkness they started to feel restless, it was only them, the people around them, and the steady beat of the drums.
Then all of a sudden they heard an explosion and a sudden eruption of radiant red light directed them to its source, just above the castle, was the gigantic crest of their kingdom, painted with fire across the sky, illuminating their surroundings once more. They erupted in prideful cheers as they saw their great crest in the sky. The melody of the song then started.
The sounds of their instruments were familiar but the song itself wasn't. As the song played, it seemed like that was when the performance itself started.
The crowd's excitement picked up as the music did. They saw one of the creatures flying above them, light ablaze as it moved its massive wings through the sky, oohs and aahs was heard as the creature smoothly sailed through the air. And screams of excitement were heard as it slowly approached the crowd.
The people felt its warm fire pass over them as it lit the wooden spires that were scattered on the streets, giving them a new source of heat and light, they cheered as it flew up once more.
As its fire disappeared their attention was taken by another creature that flew above them, since a new light source was established, they were now able to see the creature more clearly. It flew in the air and made twists and turns that excited them even further. It's blue scales reflecting the yellow fire beneath it, twinkling as it turned and rolled.
But then they saw its rider fall, they were at first mortified, until the creature captured her at just the right height for the crowd to erupt in cheers for the stunt. She hung at the creature's talons as she lowered her hand to high five those who had their hands raised.
Then they heard a great roar above them, they looked and saw small consecutive explosions come from a two-headed creature that flew above them, then it rose higher to create a larger explosion that illuminated the streets with warm orange fire. From the explosion they saw something fall, it was falling at a great speed that they thought it was gonna crash.
Then it suddenly stopped falling and started flying right above their heads, similar to the woman earlier. As they watched the spectacle before them, they suddenly heard a roar in front of them, it was a white furry creature. When it flew over their heads they felt their hair rise, not from excitement, but from a different force entirely. They were elated by the sheer size of it as it trailed snowflakes at its wake.
Once it made its way to the middle of the street, it flew upwards to the sky. All eyes were on it as it raced upward, its long body drew a straight line to the sky. When it reached the peak, an explosion of ice and snow erupted from it making it gently rain snowflakes that slightly cooled the warm air around them. The citizens were awestruck as they looked at the beauty before them, the warm fire, and the slight chill in the air brought new excitement to them.
They erupted in cheers as the performance ended with the creatures flying in formation towards the front of the castle.
With the creatures now landed, they received cheers as the crowd applauded their performance. The riders got off the creatures and waved at the crowd, with them was their former queen; Elsa, causing them to erupt louder in cheers.
They were then joined by the king and queen.
"What a magnificent performance from our new allies; the kingdom of Berk" Anna started, the crowd slowly settling down.
"May peace between our kingdoms last, and may our people prosper for years to come. Happy Spring Festival" She finished as the music started again, and the people continued their celebration in the evening.
The people of Arandelle celebrated through the night with their king and queen, and their new allies.
