We then transition to Mustafar as Anakin's fighter and Whitsun's transport land on a landing pad. "You wait here. Who knows what the Seps have left behind besides that crystal." Anakin then walks up to the door to cut a hole in it, and steps in. The alarm sounds and some security droids appear. Anakin makes short work of them. Anakin cuts through another door, but he instead finds an operating table. He cuts the door next to that one, sure enough, there's the crystal. He steps in the room and a bunch of turrets activate. He also makes short work of them. Anakin brings out his commlink. "Alright captain. It should be clear to the crystal." "Uh, sir? You might wanna head back to the platform."
Anakin walks into a jump cut of him returning to the platform to find Obi-Wan and his fighter. "You! What do you want this time?" "To see what's gotten into you." "Simple. The truth behind you. Behind all the Jedi!" Obi-Wan gives a look of concerned confusion. "You claim to be guardians of peace and justice! And yet you are also allured to committing atrocities! I know about those strikes on the Separatist regional capitals! I also know that we helped the aggressors in the Huk War! Grievous was right to hate us! And that's not all! I also know why you refuse to acknowledge my achievements! You're jealous! All of you! You refuse to grant me a seat because you all know that I have more skill and power than all of you combined! And you want to keep that prestige for yourself!" Obi-Wan gives a look of sadness. "Is… Is this what Palpatine told you?" "He also revealed to me that he's the Sith Lord." "That explains it. Anakin, he is our enemy, the embodiment of evil." "Maybe so. But at least he's sincere about his goals. He also acknowledges aptitude with the force when he sees it, and gives it full credit." "Come with me, we can still make things right." "You can make things right by leaving and never coming back. You and all the Jedi." "Anakin, surely you know of the misery and destruction that the dark side brings?" "I'm not going to tell you again. Leave!" "I don't want to fight you Anakin, but I will if I have to." "You do."
Anakin ignites his saber and lunges at Obi-Wan as they begin their emotion-fuelled duel. The focus of this fight should be the emotion behind it. Not necessarily spectacle. Eventually the two fight to a catwalk over a lava river and Obi-Wan cuts Anakin's legs from underneath him and he falls toward the river below. He also dropped his lightsaber next to Obi-Wan. He picks it up, looks back at the river, with no sign of Anakin in sight, in sadness and leaves. We see that Anakin landed on a slope a little up from the river, with a large gash on his head. He also sees a shadowy figure in the smoke.
Obi-Wan arrives back at the platform in time to see Whitsun's crew load the crystal onto the transport and take off. He then notices that R2's alone (and has been with Anakin up to this point) and offers it to ride in his fighter. As soon as they get in, he receives a call from Yoda. "Arrived on Tython, we have. More survivors, we found. Coming, are you?" "Yes Master, I'm on my way." As soon as they get into space, R2 beeps at him. "Padme, you say? Put her through." "Ani? Hello? Are you there?" "No, it's Obi-Wan." "Hi Obi! Is Ani there?" Obi-Wan sullens his face. "I'm sorry… But… He's been killed… By the dark side." "What? Is this why he missed out on the twins? Say it isn't so! Please! Tell me it was something else!" "I wish it was. But, I congratulate you on the twins. Hopefully we can discuss their future once I meet with Master Yoda." "Very well… I'll just… Try to rationalize my emotions." "It won't be easy. But I'll leave you to it. Obi-Wan out."
