Internal Deception

Chapter 19th

Loreile was having all kinds of conflicting emotions coming to the surface. She didn't know why she was feeling this way since she knew that the operation was coming to an end. Moving slowly around her quarters, she wasn't able to sleep any further. Though she would be starting her shift in three hours.

She needed to go for a run alone to think things out before going to work. Taking her water bottle and keys, she headed out with feeling the slight chill of the evening. She knew that she was going to see Gibbs later at NCIS for the briefing.

It was going to be interesting later to see all of the faces of those NCIS personnel watching Gibbs and Bishop walk into the conference room.

Time: 11.30 A.M.

The conference room was beginning to have the NCIS personnel walk inside with added chairs placed inside. Director Vance was in his office talking to the F.B.I. director Jack Mcgill in person sitting directly in front of him anxious to get the briefing started.

"I wonder how long before they arrive?" Vance needed to ask with his voice breaking slightly.

"I understand your security officers at the gate will let them through into the yards without a problem. They have been told to wait outside until their safehouse agents to escort the both of them inside and directly to the conference room." Mcgill relayed the information to the annoyed director of NCIS.

"You're really enjoying this Jack?" He says with looking at the time once again with anger building.

"Are you serious? I am damn glad this operation is over with. Now that Special Agent Sandra Kennel will be finally laid to rest. I am just happy it had turned out better than we expected with all of Hussein's associates arrested along with shutting down the Glasswares location finding further information on the computer found in the office."

"I know. At least I will have all of my personnel back into place for NCIS, even though it's not going to be easy for them to adjust again to being free. But then again Sloane will need to talk with them to make sure they will be fine before working again full time. Especially Gibbs for the most part."

"Why Gibbs? He's as tough as nails from what I have heard about him from over the years." Jack said to the director sitting straight rod now in his chair.

"True, but lately he's been more emotional with opening up to Sloane and others after Ziva had left to be with her family finally." Vance responded with moving up from his chair to start for the conference room.

OUTSIDE THE MAIN ENTRANCE OF NCIS

Gibbs was anxious to walk inside when he saw Loreile walking over to him. She was with Sergeant William Reynolds with Bishop. Her eyes popped opened when she saw Gibbs standing. She ran up to him with tears in her eyes. She was told the truth about him being alive.

"Gibbs, I can't believe it. You're alive and well?" She says with hugging him before realizing it he was not used to being hugged like this from Bishop.

"Alive and Well Bishop. I do hope you're fine after being dragged to the safehouse?" Gibbs asked even though he knew of most of the details on how she was brought to the safehouse.

"I never expected to find myself at the safehouse after finding out that my body double was the one murdered at my residence." Bishop announced with looking over at Loreile talking to Reynolds going over the final details.

Loreile came up to them to say. "I am sorry to break up the reunion, we need to head inside and the conference room. Everyone is waiting."

Gibbs did something to surprise Loreile, and Bishop. He took Loreile's hand before walking inside with the doors sliding open to head for the conference room upstairs. He didn't bother to look around the bullpen having to be empty. Talking softly in her ear walking the stairs. "Are you alright Loreile?"

"Surprised Gibbs. Otherwise I am fine and worried." It was the only thing she said before reaching the conference room double doors. There were two security officers waiting for them to arrive...

The doors opened with Gibbs and Loreile leading the way...

Jack Sloane standing with Torres and Mcgee near Director Vance sitting. Torres was surprised and in turmoil seeing the one woman alive that he loves a great deal.

"Ladies and gentlemen please welcome back Special Agents Gibbs and Bishop to the land of the living and their saviors working at the Evergreen safehouse Lt. Loreile Baskins and Sergeant William Reynolds." Vance made the announcement.

There was loud cheers from everyone inside the conference room. Even Jack Sloane had tears rolling down her face wanting to hug Gibbs. She will no doubt do so in private. But then again she noticed Gibbs holding the woman's hand in front of everyone.

"Thank you everyone for your support. I never expected to be here this soon to be saying these words. I have heard a great deal about the operation to have Hussein's associates arrested late last night with bank robbery. " Gibbs says with his words choking. "I will be glad to come back to work as with Bishop. However I have a feeling Director Vance will want us to talk with someone before we are able to work. This coming from experience from over the years."

Their were some chuckles inside the conference room.

"You're right Special Agent Gibbs. However we are glad you're back as with Special Agent Bishop. Please everyone there are going to be food and drinks supplied in a few moments. I just wanted everyone to know here at NCIS that Gibbs and Bishop are alive and well." Vance says with a slight smile on his face and overall demeanor.
