Chapter eighteen

Coming around

Hiccup slowly opened his eyes, he felt like he had been asleep forever. His chest felt heavy, and there was a dragon in the room… THERE WAS A DRAGON IN THE ROOM! Hiccup hadn't realised that he was him his house! Toothless was there too!

"Wait, you're in my house?!" Hiccup asked as the dragon bounced around in joy and started climbing one of the support beams, "does dad know you're here? Toothless! Oh come on…" and just as he was going to get out of bed, he noticed why his chest was feeling heavy, and why he couldn't feel his left foot. Toothless saw Hiccup looking and looked sadly at the boy. Hiccup had a metal prosthetic foot where his leg used to be, and in the centre of his chest was a glowing blue device that was almost identical to Tony's! Hiccup started to panic slightly, he then took a few deep breaths before pushing himself to his feet and trying to walk to the door, but collapsed thanks to the extra weight and the oddness of the new leg. Toothless noticed this and allowed Hiccup to lean against him for balance. "Thanks bud," Hiccup whispered as they made their way to the door, and as soon as Hiccup opened it… a Monstrous Nightmare was staring back at him! Hiccup slammed the door with a yelp! "Toothless, stay here!" He told the dragon, ready to run to the forge once more, but as he reopened the door, he saw that it was Snotlout riding on the Nightmare!

"Come on guys! Are you ready?!" He called behind him, not noticing Hiccup, "all outside here we go!" And as Hiccup watched, he some of the other students follow on the dragon's they had trained! He then got a good look at the village, and it had completely changed! There was a massive fish barrel in the town centre, the houses had been redecorated with wooden dragon heads that showed off the fine feature of every species! And there were hundreds of dragon's wandering or flying around! And in the distance was the metal flying thing that Tony's friends arrived in! Tony's friends were mingling with the village, it was such a sight that Hiccup didn't believe it to be real! "I knew it! I'm dead!" He exclaimed, not expecting an answer,

"No! But you gave it your best shot," Stoick laughed as he walked over to his son, and a familiar whooshing noise filled the air, it was Tony! In a brand new suit! The gold was more shiny and the red stood out more, but the one thing that was the same was his chest device, it was the same one that he had made in Gobber's forge.

"And I thought that I could sleep in," he chuckled as the suit opened up at the front and allowed Tony to walk out in different clothes that seemed to be all black and he was wearing an odd bit of cloth around his neck, "but you were somehow able to sleep in for five days straight! You missed me invent Shawarma for your tribe, and introduce the Avengers," and on seeing the boy's surprised look, he chuckled and waved it way with the back of his hand, "don't worry, I'm joking, good to know you're up though," He then gestured to the village, "what do you think? Me and Chief firebeard over there worked to upgrade the village whilst you were out,"

"Hey look! It's Hiccup!" Someone shouted and soon the whole tribe was gathering around the boy!

"Turns our that all we really needed was a little more of… this" Stoick explained as the crowd gathered around, he then gestured to Hiccup, who responded in confusion,

"But you just gestured to the all of me" Stoick smiled broadly as he nodded his head,

"Well, most of you," Gobber butted in before pointing at his new leg, "that bit's my handiwork, with a little Hiccup flair thrown in, you think it will do?"

"Well I might give it a few tweaks," Hiccup confessed, resulting in a few chuckles from the tribe,

"Not to mention that your arc-reactor should last forever," Tony pointed out, "although it is the only thing keeping you alive at the minute," Hiccup smiled at this, at least he was alive. At that moment, Astrid walked forward and punched Hiccup on the shoulder, hard,

"That's for scaring me!" She told him, and Hiccup stared at her in disbelief,

"Wait, What? So is it always going to be this way because…" but before he could finish his sentence, Astrid pulled him in and kissed him! And as she let go, Hiccup said as if he wasn't surprised, "I could get used to it." Gobber then handed Hiccup a bundle of stuff that looked like a new version of Toothless' prosthetic,

"Welcome home" He told the boy, suddenly a shout was heard from the crowd,

"Night-Fury! Get down!" And on cue, Toothless bounded out of the hut and climbed over the Vikings to make it to the boy, making both Hiccup and Astrid chuckle.

Tony joined the Avengers as Hiccup connected the new tail to Toothless.

"So, we have waited five days Tony," Natasha told him, "what is this place exactly?" And as Tony watched the boy take to the sky's, he smiled and said,

"This is Berk, it snows nine months of the year and hails the other three, any food that grows here is tough and tasteless. The people that grow here are even more so. The only upsides, are the pets. While other places have ponies or parrots, they have… dragons" Steve chuckled after tony finished that little speech,

"nice Tony, but I still have one question: why are you not awake?" suddenly, an ice-cold feeling flooded Tony's body!

"sir? SIR!" it was J.A.R.V.I.S, tony woke up slowly, why was it so cold? There was an alarm beeping in his ear too, what was going on? "that's the emergency alert signalling the power dropping below 5%" tony then saw in a start that he was crashing towards the ground at high speeds!

"AAARGGHHHH!" tony screamed as he ploughed into the snow-covered ground! Once he had stopped moving Tony reached to his face and pulled off the Mark 42 faceplate, he then took a deep breath of fresh air, fresh snowy air, "it's snowing, right? We still on Berk?" he asked the ai, who responded in a confused tone,

"sir, there is no such a place as Berk on the world map, you must have been dreaming. We are five miles outside Rose Hill, Tennessee" Tony was shocked for a number of reasons! He had been dreaming all that time?! And why was he in Tennessee?!

"WHY!?" he demanded, "J.A.R.V.I.S! not my idea! What are we doing here; this is thousands of miles away!

"I prepared a flight plan. This was the location." The ai argued,

"who asked you?" tony retaliated, he had decided that Berk was a dream, "open the suit"

"I think I may be malfunctioning sir" his voice did sound like he was broken, "open, eject" and on those words, the Mark 42 opened up and tony sat up, he was instantly freezing, "oh that's brisk!" he said as he clapped his hands together to warm himself up, but as he did, he noticed there was two things different about himself, one was a thick metal plate that was strapped to his arm, and the other was his arc reactor, which didn't have the stark element in, but instead it had some purple gooey substance, "maybe it wasn't a dream after all!" tony muttered to himself.
