It was Thursday, March 1st, and Honest and Shadow couldn't sit where they normally did that morning because it had rained the previous night, and the concrete was wet. Instead, they both just stood awkwardly against a wall and looked everywhere but at each other. They had nothing at all to talk about. Sometimes Honest would tell him about something she built or did in Minecraft (or Hedgecraft if that bothers you), but that morning she decided not to wake up early to play a game. Instead, she had went straight to work on her next song cover, so now they had nothing to talk about.

Second period, the book they had been reading in class for months finally ended. This time, it ended in a fairly happy ending, surprisingly enough. Last time they hadn't been so lucky with the main character dying at the end. Hopefully that doesn't happen in this story. Imagine if Honest died at the end? If Honest dies, that would mean that I died. Maybe that will happen. I do plan to have this be the longest running fan fiction on the internet, so the only way for it to end is for Honest, AKA me, to die. xD Sorry, Honest. And me.

(A/N: Don't worry though, reader. I'll still continue to write this story even after I die. ^^ "Longest running fan fiction on the internet", remember? I was serious when I wrote this, and I'm serious now.)

Third period, the teacher combated pop-ups in order for them to watch a movie for their lesson online, and fourth period, Honest sat around and worked on her fan fiction since that week in her Spanish class was a catch-up week.

Fifth period, Honest cringed as the teacher laid out all her portraits of people she had drawn on the table in front of her. "They're really looking good!" she exclaimed before leaving Honest behind to suffer the consequences for expressing herself artistically. She hated the characters' freakishly large heads and hands. She hated the doofy grin each and every one of them held on their dumb faces. But most of all, Honest hated herself for liking it in the first place.

Sixth period, she finally drew the cover for Forces Edition. She threw her hands into the air in rejoice. Dina looked up at her hands, mildly confused as to why she had thrown them up there. "What happened?" Mephiles asked from across the aisle. Honest put her hands down and smiled over at him.

"I can finally start to publish chapters of my story," she told him, beaming. Dina clapped now that she understood what had happened. Finally, you can actually read this story, so I can break the fourth wall and have there be people to talk to on the other side. :3 (Just now I imagined me breaking through a wall with a Piko Piko Hammer just to see a barren wasteland on the other side with a tumbleweed or two.)

Seventh period, Honest got another stupid speech to work on for the next week. Her last one had taken forever to make, and it was over and done with in only three minutes. What was the point of that? Eighth period, Dr. Eggman was out, so he left behind pages and pages of worksheets for them to do in his stead.

All-in-all, it was a fairly busy day. Honest was relieved when she saw Shadow standing at the front door when school dismissed. She ran up to him and hugged him, almost knocking him down. "Hey, Shadow!" she said, her exclamation muffled by his fluffy, white chest-fluff.

"Hey," he replied. Unable to catch himself when he felt himself falling because of his arms being trapped, Shadow hit the wall. Eventually Honest let go. "Let's go home, I'm tired!" she told him.

It was raining, but luckily Honest had remembered to get her umbrella out of her locker before they left, so they both held it between them as they walked. When they went across the bridge, Honest looked down into the water. It was a lot higher than usual because of the rain, and the raindrops hitting the surface of the water made the space underneath the bridge look chaotic and manic. Not a chao and Sonic's brother, but you know... hectic.

"What would you do if I pushed you off the bridge?" Honest asked.

"Luckily, unlike Sonic, I can swim to get out. But once I get out, you're toast."

Honest giggled. "What are you laughing at?" Shadow asked, sporting a mildly confused frown.

"You said toast," she pointed out. Shadow "pft"ed.

"I've said it before. It's edgy, isn't it?" he asked, genuinely interested.

"I don't think so," Honest told him. "But it is silly."

"Well, I guess that's something I have to remember not to say from here on out," he said. "The Ultimate Lifeform can't be silly." Honest giggled at this, too.

It was March 2nd, and Shadow was out on some sort of mission for the president- probably getting his groceries or something xD- but he wouldn't be back until after school. How was Honest supposed to survive a whole day without him? Luckily it was a Friday, so as soon as he did come back, they could spend the whole weekend together doing... nothing, probably. Sitting around? There wasn't much they could do. Honest guessed that she could play Shadow the Hedgehog and have him watch or play Skyrim and have him watch... Or they could play Sonic Heroes multiplayer. The multiplayer in that game was dumb. The multiplayer in '06 was fun. ShtH's was okay just because of the cool stages, SA2 was fun because of all of the different game modes, but Heroes's was dumb in Honest's opinion. Sonic wasn't really known for its multiplayer, and for good reasons. It was always an afterthought, for one, and second, Sonic was more of a single-player game where the story was to be completed, and then most of the replay value was in playing old stages over and over for different missions and such. Multiplayer just added to replay value... unless it was dumb, which seemed to be the case for Sonic Heroes, or Sonic "Zeroes", as Honest liked to call it, but not because it was a bad game. No way. It was a Sonic game after all, so it couldn't be bad. It just wasn't the funnest to play. The story is probably the only reason it was such a high priority buy as the second Sonic game they bought for their new Wii which, if you remember, only cost Honest 500 and 20 rings (which is a steal, by the way. A lot of the others I saw were over a 1000).

When Honest got to school that morning, since Shadow wasn't there to check the time for her, she found out by the amount of people standing near the front doors that she had gotten there a little too early. She had no idea exactly how early seeing as though she didn't own a watch or a phone, but she definitely knew she was early. Walking up to the front steps, Honest found Dina and Scourge talking there. Dina smiled when Honest walked up, and Honest sat beside her.

"Hey," she said. She looked around at the vast expanse of nothingness around them. "It looks like I got here early today.."

Dina nodded. "Yep. I always get here early."

Meanwhile, Scourge was pouring a bottle of Ben's Robotics-Safe Polish into his Chaos Cola. He held it up to the sky and shook it around.

"What's that for, Scourge?" Dina asked.

"When I mix it with the cheese sauce from the lunchroom, it should be corrosive enough to burn through solid steel," he said, observing it through the hole in the top of the can as he swished it around.

Dina laughed, but Honest just stared at him like he was crazy, which he is, mind you.

Later, after lunch, Honest was staring through the steps' railing at Jet, who happened to be close to where he usually sat, but not quite there. Instead, he was standing against the wall, staring at it as if it held all the answers to life's questions. He looked so sad. Did he realise that Honest loved him? I mean, that everyone loved him? Honest remembered all of the fan girls on a forum site Honest used to post on when she was younger. Jet was their favorite character. If you asked any one of them, they would say that they loved Jet. But... whatever happened to them? Jet turned around and Honest ducked behind her bag. When he passed, Honest got out again and watched him. He left a trail of regret behind him that Honest couldn't avoid coming in contact with as she ran to go sit where he had been standing, feeling as if being there was the closest thing Honest could do to get near to him. The other chapter, Honest had conversed with him! She had make eye contact and everything! Why had that been so easy for her? Thinking about it now made Honest extremely nauseous... or maybe that was because all she had eaten for lunch was chips and milk. Or, quite possibly, it was the trail of regret Honest had choked on. What was regret made of anyway?

Honest was so thankful that it was Friday. It felt like this week had been a million weeks long. It started with a test that, when Honest really thought about it, felt like a very distant memory rather than a recent one. Then there was Wednesday which was so uneventful that Honest forgot about the whole day and started school Thursday thinking it was Wednesday. Then Thursday, yesterday, Honest and the rest of the students came to school 2 hours late because of flooding, but that seemed far away, too. Now it was finally Friday so she could put the whole week to rest.

Monday and Tuesday came and went with only minor difficulty. Monday started out happy, but the work being piled on the characters that day reminded them that in fact, it was not. Tuesday had started off strange, and throughout the whole day, Honest and the other characters had felt something off. They kept hearing of terrible events happening, both on the local news and from their classmates' conversations, and Honest could sense it with her kitty senses, which she guessed she had but wasn't sure. It was now Wednesday, and Honest was looking for Shadow when she found him at his usual spot outside where he... Well, Honest had learned from experience that Shadow didn't want her telling others what he did on days that he was feeling down, so I won't get into that now.

Most people just end up asking themselves pointless questions like "Why do I exist?", which as you know doesn't make any sense in the scope of life because you simply exist because you were born or created as the result of someone else's hand, but there are always other ways of coping with tough experiences.

... But Shadow will find out the full truth about his shrouded past in Shadow the Hedgehog 2," she said to the open air. Honest looked around to see if anyone heard her sudden, commercial-like exclamation. She was standing on the path that snaked between the school buildings and led to the cafeteria. No one was around. Honest let out a breath of air and kept walking.

I don't think anyone will ever be ready for their previous views of Shadow the Edgelord to be shattered in Shadow the Hedgehog 2.

Honest quickly shifted her thoughts to lunch- to the creepy foods that she would try to avoid but would inevitably have to eat unless she wanted to starve. That day she got some weird chicken and rice stuff with that cheese sauce Scourge had been talking about. It's texture was that of cheap, processed-at-least-a-dozen-different-times cheese that had been simply melted over definitely-not-cooked-to-perfection-or-anything rice and clearly-had-been-frozen-for-years chicken before being served to oblivious-to-everything-except-their-own-noses children at their school. Honest noticed that on the other side of her tray were the kind of peas that Vanilla sometimes made. She scarfed them down in three seconds flat. Shadow looked at her sideways. Not because eating her food at the speed of sound was anything out of the ordinary or anything, but because not he, nor anyone else in the lunchroom, dared to eat them because they were vegetables. Peas were the only vegetable Honest liked. That and asparagus. She looked over at Shadow as if he were the one doing something strange. "What?" Shadow shook his head and looked away as if to say "never mind".

Oh my goodness, I ish so depress now! And no, it wasn't the chicken that did it. .-. (Though I'm sure it had some part in it... :() Please leave a review if you enjoyed, and I'll see you in the next chapter. :3
