Being a Sith was great, but it had its issues. For instance, it made choice of babysitter awkward.
Darth Nox was not used to having to leave her daughter, and much less used to debating such issues. However, while turning up to the Dark Council meeting on Korriban with her usual companions as guards may be acceptable, so long as they 'guarded' outside, turning up with a five year old was definitely out of the question.
She needed a babysitter, and fast. Since her crew were coming with her, it looked like she would have to turn to her extended family. The other Sith members would be similarly occupied, and she needed an Imperial, not willing to palm her daughter off with some Bounty Hunter, who would demand payment, or a troublesome Smuggler.
That narrowed down the options to...One. Aayla. Lady Kitty Zalia-Revel-Kallig-Nox paused to think it over. She was in a rush, but didn't want to be hasty.
Agent Aayla Talon was...Well, Imperial at least, and hadn't shown herself to be as troublesome as her siblings in Kitty's presence, despite being somewhat sneaky and not altogether trustworthy.
She would have to do. If nothing else, Aayla would be in the well-guarded Imperial Intelligence Headquarters in the Empire's capital, somewhere Kitty could approve of, and somewhere her daughter was unlikely to come to much harm, she thought.
So, her next destination was Dromund Kaas. More precisely, Kaas City's tall black buildings, flying Imperial banners from them. The Sith Citadel, and beside it, Imperial Intelligence's Headquarters. Scooping Avrria, her little daughter, up in her arms, the Sith made her way into the building most likely to contain Agent Talon.
A rather cocky guard stepped out in front of her. Nox's eyes narrowed behind her mask. "What do you what?" The guard enquired haughtily. The Sith's eyes narrowed further as, in the background, another guard who had recognised her stared on in dismay. "What do you what?" The now-angered Sith Lady snapped in response. "Because if it is to die...I, Darth Nox, would be more than happy to oblige."
The guard, now informed of his error, backed up against a locked door, jabbering nervously. Kitty turned her attention to his colleague. "Since your friend is unwell, you will show me to Agent Talon's office." She demanded.
"Agent Talon...? Oh you mean...that. Uh...Very well, My Lady." He answered, looking very concerned.
"Excellent!" The Sith told him cheerfully, following him through some doors and corridors until they came to another shut door.
"It...I mean, the Agent, should be in there, Lady Nox." He told her, gesturing.
The Sith nodded and walked up to the door, fiddling with the control panel next to it until it got overheated and opened with a loud bang and several sparks. Kitty had never been good with technology.
Agent Talon calmly looked up from a datapad and smiled in an unnerving way as the smoke cleared to reveal Darth Nox, in full Sith garb, little Avrria, wide-eyed and confused, and the guard, in the distance, running away.
"Kitty. To what do I owe the pleasure?" She remarked innocently.
"Aayla...How are you with children?" Kitty answered, in an equally sweet tone, although the voice changer in her helmet ruined the effect.
"Fine, so long as their not mine, they don't scream, and no one lets them touch my stuff. Why?" Came the answer.
"Well, Avie's good, and I'm in a hurry, so...Have fun!" With that, Kitty placed her daughter unceremoniously in the centre of Aayla's desk and strode back out, casually zapping the irritating guard with lightning on the way past.
"Typical Sith. Just bosses me about and then leaves. Now what do I fucking do?!" The Agent muttered in annoyance. Avrria silently watched her for a few minutes, blinking in bewilderment.
"Auntie La...What's going on?" The child asked curiously. She had met Aayla before at assorted, odd family parties and, as she did with all Kitty's extended family, had come up with a nickname of sorts for her, but she didn't really understand what Aayla's job was, or why she had been left here, in some strange office, with Aayla, by her mummy.
"Your guess is as good as mine, Av. And my guess is...Not this paperwork." Aayla gestured at her datapad. "Let's find something fun to do around here. There has to be something."
At the suggestion of fun, Avrria cheered and jumped down off the desk, looking around Aayla's office for something 'fun'. However, Aayla's idea of 'fun' didn't involve being stuck in any boring office. She, like Kitty, was of the opinion that the 'staff' around Imperial Intelligence's HQ were stuck-up and boring. She also thought that a good prank now and then livened them up, hence their dislike of her.
Aayla's response to having to entertain a child was to produce the emergency bag of water balloons she kept in her desk draw, right beside her thermal detonators, for throwing at anyone who wasn't, in her opinion, the very best they could be.
Once she had explained to Avie what water balloons were and how to use them, the two were happily cackling as they filled them up and planned their prank. Avrria 'innocently' revealed to Aayla that 'Mummy had an argument with those men, and one of them called you a 'that'', so Aayla easily chose her targets, and when Kitty returned, it was to the chaotic scene of two sopping wet guards arguing against their superior, in an attempt to convince him that 'wet bombs fell out of nowhere.'
This greatly amused the Sith, but she didn't pay it too much heed, merely assuming it was a coincidence, and that her relatives were peacefully seating in Aayla's office, unaware. Nox made her way back to the Agent's office, only to be met by a barrage of water balloons.
"AAAAAAYYYLLAAAAAA!" The angered Darth screeched at the top of her lungs.
Laughing, an Imperial Agent appeared, greeting her with, "In my defence, it was worth it."
"It fucking was!" Avrria piped up from beside her. Kitty looked from her daughter, to Aayla and back again.
"Last words?" Kitty asked. The Agent only laughed. She knew Kitty probably wouldn't actually kill her. But it was the last time she babysat Avie.
