Chapter 16: Third Battle (Battle of Alrest State Park, Part 1)
Nia watched as the Loser's Club and the Torna Gang rushed at each other, but Now could not bring herself to attack. Why not? She just stood frozen. Just earlier, she was all about helping the Losers fight, but now she couldn't move.
Nia just looked around the battlefield as the scene unfolded. The Losers were not doing well. Similar to before, Morag and Brighid had taken on Akhos, Zeke and Pandoria took on Malos, and Rex attacked Jin by himself. The Torna Gang was over powering the Loser's Club.
It was a sad scene to watch. Zeke was taken down by Malos, and Pandoria stepped in, only to be beaten almost instantly. With a scarily perfect roundhouse kick, Akhos was able to take down Morag and Brighid in one hit. Soon, Rex and Jin was the last fight left.
"Why don't you just give up?" Jin growled while trading blows with Rex.
"Like hell! I still need to make you pay for what you did to Nia!" Rex replied.
It was pretty obvious that Rex was not doing well. Whenever Jin attacked, Rex was forced to block, and Jin attacked very frequently. In a moment of pure luck, Rex was able to push Jin back, giving him a a couple moments to get back into his fighting stance.
"I can do this all day." Rex claimed.
" then your in for a helluva day. " Jin said.
Then Jin did it. He found an opening, and Jin punched Rex in his stomach, causing him to lose his breath. That's when Nia decided that she needed to do something.
Nia knew she couldn't just stand by as the boy she loves was being beaten by her brother. She had to do something. Then Nia remembered something that was said by a character in Attack On Titan.
If I don't fight, I can't win.Nia needed to fight. She knew that something had to be done.
Fight!
Nia balled her hands into fists, preparing for what she was about to do.
Fight!
Nia glared at Jin, her goal clear inside of her head.
Fight!!
Letting out a fierce battle cry, Nia rushed forward at Jin. Jin turned, but only for Nia's fist to be smashed into his fave, making him fly backward.
Rex started at Nia in awe. "Nia...thank you!"
Nia grinned. "No problem."
Suddenly, Rex and Nia heard someone chuckling. They turned to see Jin, already on his feet with blood pouring out of his nose. Out of his pocket, he drew a small knife, making Nia gasp. She knew that knife.
Every member of the Torna Gang had a small knife for themselves, including Nia. She had brought her own to the battle, expecting the worst.
"Nia..." Jin said. He had a furious look in his eyes. " you always were a disappointment! " Jin snarled.
Jin then arched back his arm, then threw the knife, aimed directly for Nia.
