"You told him what!?"

Tyler watched as Jack paced back and forth, shaking his head with pure worry as they stayed a few inches away from Princess Zelda and Prince Andrew. He had just told his best bud what he had told Captain Link and now Jack was pacing back and forth with all the worryful thoughts racing in his mind about what could happen. In Tyler's eyes, he had done nothing wrong except saved their asses from getting into trouble, plus it would make Prince Andrew leave even sooner.

Jack didn't think the same way as he did. They had solely agreed to tell Link Prince Andrew was flirting with Princess Zelda, not telling him he had made unwanted advances towards her.

"Hey," Tyler said, halting his friend in his tracks as Jack's eyes snapped towards him full of venom. "It'll work out, Jack. Just you wait and see."

"But to tell Captain Link, Prince Andrew made unwanted advances towards Princess Zelda?" Jack hissed out though his gritted teeth, narrowing his eyes. He couldn't believe Tyler would bend their lie that far. They would be killed if Link found out the truth. "Oh, we're so going to be fired if Captain Link finds out the truth behind this."

"He won't find out."

Jack glared at his friend, fully intending on giving him a piece of his mind when Tyler pointed towards the pair and his eyes widened when he realized Prince Andrew was trying to hold Princess Zelda's hand but she kept moving it away, glaring slightly at the Prince. He felt a little better knowing something of what Link was told was true until he realized the rest would still make them on the verge of being fired.

Especially the unwanted advancements. That's what truly scared Jack the most because it was Prince Andrew's words against theirs. Out of the trio, who would be most likely believed; Prince Andrew would be.

They were merely guards while Prince Andrew had higher status and power.

"And how can you be so sure?" Jack questioned. "Captain Link has a hunch for telling lies apart from the truth, or have you forgotten?"

Tyler shrugged as he placed his hand on Jack's shoulder. "Look, Jack, just trust me on this one, okay? We won't get into trouble because, hey, who actually likes Prince Andrew aside from Christopher and the nobles?"

"Some of the staff," Jack replied.

"Whatever," Tyler grumbled. "Captain has more power because of his Hero status, doesn't he? If Prince Andrew tries to blame us, Captain will show him the power of the big bad wolf, and everything will be fine."

Jack slumped against the wall and looked over to the royals, keeping his eyes sternly on them as Tyler kept an eye out for their captain to see if he was on the move or not. He didn't want to speak with Tyler; not now. He was still pissed off at his friend's decision to lie about Prince Andrew making unwanted advances but how long until it actually happened?

How long until that lie became the truth?

Thinking back, he never once thought someone from Ordon would ever become the Captain of the Royal Guards. But now, he wouldn't have it any other way. Link had straightened them all right up, made them into better guards than what Kaji could ever make them into. He would never forgive him and Tyler if he found out they had lied about the report about Prince Andrew being with Princess Zelda.

Jack could only hope Link found it himself to forgive them.

That is— if he ever found out about their little lie that was, and Jack had zero doubts he would in the very end. That was the cold hard truth.

However, a few minutes passed and Link still hadn't shown up. That's when Tyler and Jack shared a look; why wasn't he here? Hadn't they made his wolf pissed off enough for him to do something to the Prince? Jack gulped slightly as he ran a hand through his hair in wonder.

If Link was too late then they would be on the move soon and—

"Look!" Tyler whispered as he pointed towards someone approaching. "It's Captain! He's here— I told you, didn't I?"

"Here's to our last moments as guards," mumbled Jack. "Been nice working with you, Ty."

Tyler rolled his eyes. "It'll be fine."

"No, it won't."

The moment Link walked up to them with a snarl on his expression was the moment Zelda, Tyler, and Jack knew things were about to get ugly as Andrew locked eyes with the Captain and had a snarl of his own; clearly upset about not getting any time along with Princess Zelda like he wanted. Link didn't care. As far as he was concerned, Zelda didn't belong to anyone else but himself; he owned her heart, and Prince Andrew was running a race where Link had already won.

Nothing would come out of this visit like Andrew thought.

"Oi," Link hissed through his teeth. "Prince Andrew…"

"Captain Link," Zelda warned, sensing his anger easily and could feel the wolf vibes coming through. His wolf wasn't happy and it was easily shown with the way his fangs were being seen with the way his lips were curled slightly to reveal them. "Calm down, think about what you're going to do."

"Are those fangs?" Prince Andrew asked, weakly as he felt a bit sick. "Were you born with those!? What are you?"

"Human," Link spat. "A Hylian."

Andrew swallowed before he regained his composure. "What do you want with me? I thought you had duties to attend to," he said it with authority but it didn't work as well as he wanted with the way Link chuckled and rolled his eyes.

Zelda was quick to stand up. "Link, please, calm down."

Jack turned to Tyler with wide eyes and Tyler did the same as they realized they had perhaps pissed Link off too much with the information. They had to step in before Link did something he regretted until they realized; the beast inside would kill them if they interfered with this confrontation.

"No," Andrew said, standing up sharply. "Tell me."

Link smirked as he looked directly into his eyes. "I had a very interesting… report given to me by my guards," he clicked his tongue, eyes flickering over to Jack and Tyler before returning them to the Northerner.

"Interesting?" Andrew repeated. "What do you mean?"

"Let's see…" Link hummed, and for some reason, Zelda felt her stomach drop as she wondered what Tyler and Jack had told her love. "Flirting with her, trying to hold her hand when she doesn't want you to— and unwanted advances too. Who raised you, Prince Andrew?"

Andrew paled. He had never made any unwanted advances towards Zelda, didn't he? He racked his memory and couldn't find anything. His eyes flicked over and saw how she was equally as surprised but didn't really show it, but it was her eyes that made him see the shock.

"Tyler," hissed Jack, leaning in to whisper to him. "This is what I meant by bad idea."

Tyler weakly nodded. "Maybe I shouldn't have done this."

"No kidding!"

Andrew shook his head, trying to wrap his mind around what had just been said, trying to form a sentence to defend himself. "I didn't do anything!" he settled on, finding it the one thing that got him out of trouble the most at home.

Link frowned. "Maybe your dear Kingdom is wrapped around your fingers, but we aren't. You're trying to court someone who isn't even single," he said with a matter of fact tone much to Zelda's dismay.

"Link—" Zelda tried saying before Andrew was cut off.

"What do you mean?" Andrew hissed out in pure disbelief. "She's not seeing someone! She can't be! She's supposed to be marrying me!"

Zelda halted. "What's that supposed to mean, Prince Andrew?" she asked, arching an eyebrow as she watched Andrew freeze up when he realized what he had said.

Link folded his arms. Andrew shrank under their combined gazes. "Well, I uh… I mean… who else could court you?" he asked and it was the wrong thing as Link growled at the statement. "—Ah! I mean— I— we're betrothed…"

"You're not," Link shook his head. "Princess Zelda never agreed to it; that was all Christopher giving you false hope. There's no room for you in Princess Zelda's heart, I apologize for taking up that room for a love interest." He wasn't, not really.

Andrew froze up at his words and Zelda's eyes went wide as she sucked in a sharp breath. How would Andrew respond to this? Link had openly admitted they were in a courtship despite them agreeing they wouldn't reveal this until later on. She didn't know what Tyler and Jack did but it might've just ended Andrew's visit earlier than planned.

If things ended well, she would have to thank them, even if they did end up lying straight to Link's face.

Jack and Tyler sucked in a sharp breath as they advanced towards them, ready to hold back Andrew from whatever he might do; they knew he wasn't going to take the news lightly but they couldn't take any risks. Link would kill Andrew within an instant if he was allowed to fight with him; they had seen him fight with Kaji and they knew he was holding back then.

Link wouldn't hold himself back if he fought with Andrew.

"What," Andrew gasped. "You and Princess Zelda... ?"

"Yup," Link nodded, folding his arms together. "Long before you showed up, Prince Andrew. I don't take too kindly to your advances to my love."

Zelda placed her hand on his arm. "Link, calm down. Don't say anything you might regret."

Link tore his gaze away from Andrew and smiled softly at his love, kissing her softly as he whispered, "Darlin', I'll be fine. I won't regret a thing. I'm just putting him in his place as the Alpha. What's mine is mine, not his."

Andrew looked back and forth before scowling deeply. He couldn't believe this. He was promised a marriage with her. Christopher had promised that in the letter he had replied with and he was lied to— how dare they lie to him!

"What is happening?" he scowled.

"A wolf staking his claim," answered the Captain with a smug smirk. "You tried taking something that was already claimed by a wolf— you were in another wolf's territory; the Alpha was bound to find the intruder sometime."

"So it's true," breathed Andrew. "You have a wolf. You're a wolf."

Link's smug smirk got even more smug. "Of course," he chuckled. "How else would I have been able to go through all that hardship without a little bit of help? I also had someone of the Twilight Realm to help me; the Twilight Princess, who also happens to be my best friend."

Andrew paled, trying to find the right words to say before wiping to be face to face with both Tyler and Jack. "You told him lies about me!" he yelled. "I didn't make any unwanted advances to Princess Zelda."

"One; trying to hold my hand," Zelda stated, making Andrew turn towards her. "Two; flirting with me even though I'm clearly not interested. Three; saying I'm supposed to marry you."

"Princess—"

"I never wanted this to start with; Christopher never spoke about this with me and decided to make a huge choice without me. Prince Andrew, even if I was available for a courtship, I wouldn't even think about marrying you."

Link held her hand tightly. "Might as well go home now."

Jack and Tyler watched in amazement as Andrew stormed away without another word, exchanging glances as they watched Link sigh with happiness as he kissed Zelda softly before glancing towards them. They swallowed; here it comes. Their careers were gone. But when they realized the anger never came their way, they arched an eyebrow as they realized Link was smiling at them.

He was happy?

"Captain?" Jack asked slowly.

"Good work," Link stated. "You two proved yourselves. Head off to the bar for some drinks. I'll see you both tomorrow."

Both nodded. "Yes, sir," with that they headed off.

Zelda placed her hand on Link's shoulder and kissed him softly. "Are you okay now? Feel better now that you got that out of you?"

"Not yet. Not until I visited Christopher."
