Chapter Twenty-Two
The warehouse…
Raymond couldn't believe it, he was facing an FBI Agent in what he thought was a secure location, though obviously it was not.
"I repeat, drop your weapon and put your hands behind your head!" The blonde agent shouted as he had his gun out and waited for Raymond to respond either with his gun or just to surrender
"Do you remember me?" Raymond asked, trying to stall for time
"Yes." Colby said, angrily, "And this time, you are going away for good for kidnapping and attempted murder."
"You know, this should have been settled a long time ago." Raymond said as he aimed his gun for Colby, ready to fire.
He would not get that chance to do so as Colby immediately shot him in the shoulder, causing Raymond to collapse in pain as he groaned, cursing the agent as he held his arm.
"Oh, you stinking filthy…" Raymond said angrily in pain
"Trust me," Colby said, just as angry at the man, "You could have gotten a lot worse but still need you to go to trial and let the courts deal with you themselves, you are not taking the easy way out."
Meanwhile…
James was furious, as Raymond had assured him that no one would be able to find them and things would go off with a hitch.
'I should have known not to trust him on his word, as it seems the Eppes brothers are always able to get through people like us.'
"Drop your weapon!" The woman shouted at him
"Do as she says!" The man next to her said
James, like Raymond, also turned his gun at the two agents and, unlike Raymond, was able to get off a couple shots before being shot in both the shoulder and leg, causing him to lose his grip on Don who, at this point, was unconscious.
"This is Agent Reeves, we need three ambulances, one for Agent Eppes, first." Megan said in the radio before she ran to her friend
"Don! Wake up!" Megan said as checked for breathing, relieved that he was still alive but barely.
"Serves him right," James said, breathing hard, "He and his brother have caused people like us so much trouble over the years."
"Oh, don't worry." David said angrily, "Where you two are going, you will not have to worry about that for a long time."
As if on cue, sirens were heard, signaling that help was on the way.
