-JAY HALSTEAD-

SIBLING RIVALRY

Will woke up, ready to spend the day with his brother, after all they always have conflicting schedules, but today was a rare time when they both had the day off.

"Hey, Jay! Wake up!" Will hollered into Jay's bed room, the light was on, but Jay wasn't there.

"Jay? You here?" Will asked, making his way into the kitchen. He found a handwritten note that read:

Hey Bro.

Voight called me in, I'll meet you for beer and the blackhawks game after work!

JAY

"It's a nice day, might as well not waste it." Will exclaimed heading back into his bedroom. When he emerged he was in gray sweatpants and a navy colored hoodie. He grabbed his I-pod, stuffing it into his hoodie pocket, locked his apartment door and headed down the stairs. He carefully inserted the earbuds into his ears, and started to jog down the sidewalk.

"You want to know why you are here, don't you?" One of the female offenders taunted Will, which he assumed was the leader of the group.

"That would be helpful." Will told her.

"Remember one week ago, our best friend Vallerie Smith was caught by a stray bullet during a drug bust…."

The one, Jay responded to?" He asked knowing the answer.

"That's the one." She said, madly.

"I did what I could, gunshot victims don't always make it." Will said.

"Liar!" She said slapping him across the face.

"I promise I'm not lying to you!" Will said fighting against his bonds.

"Don't you know that Doctors aren't supposed to make promises!" Another one of the female offenders snapped back at him.

"It's not a promise it's a statistic!" Will snapped back. The female pulled her arm back. Will braced himself for another slap that never came.
