Keiyu makes a boy cry and Gran Torino is done

Chapter 13: Shouto's Day Out

March 26th

Three weeks since his reunion with Touy- no Toru and Shouto was still taking it all in. By some miracle Endeavor hadn't found out and Fuyumi was too subdued to even think about mentioning it. None of the servants said anything about the strange meetings and Natsuo signed up for a cram school to be out of the house even more, which the man didn't argue with since it meant he was taking his studies seriously.

He just didn't tell Endeavor that the cram school was half in person and half online so the ten year old spent most of the time in the library. If it was not for the fact he had the man's attention on him 24/7 when he was at home, Shouto would like to sign up for cram school as well. Luckily he was allowed to have a computer in his room and Endeavor said nothing about the additional charges for tutoring in advanced subjects.

Fuyumi had been reading self-help books on her tablet and Shouto had seen her scroll through articles and videos of Endeavor's exploits along with hero laws. She kept her hair in a ponytail to avoid pulling on it in her stress and he sometimes heard her talking over video chat with Keiyu's grandfather who was a hero himself. She even sometimes talked to the little green-haired girl as well who had 'calmed down' in terms of bashing Endeavor in favor of talking to Fuyumi about her interests.

Shouto himself did not know what to think about Mumichi Keiyu. Sure he did the chatroom with her and she helped him alot with understanding Economics a bit more (she sometimes had her neighbor Shoji-san talk to him about Japanese cooking since she herself knew more about Russian recipes for some reason.) While teaching him a few Russian words here and there, but beyond that she called herself Toru's sister.

Should he call her sister as well? Toru seemed fond of her and she treated him better than others when she took him to that ice cream place, even if her and Natsuo fought with one another. She seemed to hate Endeavor so he couldn't really accuse her of trying to get close because of him. She also wore an eyepatch over her left eye and when Natsuo saw her in person he tried to accuse her of mocking Shouto but she held up a medical bracelet and said she didn't want to give them nightmares of what a doll's eye in someone's face looked like.

Natsuo went pale and never brought up the subject again, and Shouto shivered at the thought of someone taking his eye out.

Even the one that looks like that man's.

Other than that he knew nothing about the girl, who her parents were, or what she wanted to do beyond the stated fact that heroics was not in her future.

Kidnapping however, seemed to be her favorite hobby, like that one time Natsuo woke up in a dress hanging down from a tree with 'I am a pretty princess' printed in English across it, or Fuyumi found herself in men's clothes in a karaoke bar for some 'scream' relief.

So upon finding himself at an amusement park with a brown wig, contact lenses, and make-up covering his scar, Shouto found himself at a bit of a loss.

"Come on Shoutarou! The rides are opening up," and why was she calling him Shoutarou?

"Go ahead you two, we'll catch up," Toru was hanging back and a similarly disguised Fuyumi and Natsuo were getting their own stamps.

Her violet-blue eye met his and he saw her reaching for his hand a bit slowly, as if waiting for him to pull back and when he didn't, she gently grasped his hand in hers and tugged till he started walking.

They stopped at a stand where there were maps and he helped her unfold it so that it was open before them.

"Unfortunately a lot of rides are not available because of our height, but we can make our way to this section if you want to do some of the junior rides," Shouto stared at the map, feeling a bit lost.

"I've never been to a theme park," he admitted, not knowing what to look for as she folded the map up and put it in her bag.

"I've only been once, and even then I barely remember it," the look in her eye made him avert his gaze to the crowd of people walking around them.

"Alright brats, let's go," and there was Gran Torino, or Grandpa as they were supposed to call him, dressed in civilian clothes and sunglasses in place of his usual mask. The grumpy expression on his face contrasted with his bright pink hawaian shirt, and made Shouto look down at his own bright blue shirt with bright yellow flowers printed all over it.

"Why are we wearing ridiculous outfits? We look like out of place tourists," Natsuo demanded with a red face, looking like he wanted to hide from people's stares.

"It was the only shirts they had that matched theme-wise," Keiyu answered, an innocent expression on her face that made Natsuo turn even redder and try to jump at her, Fuyumi lunged and held him back.

"Is something wrong, Hime-niisan?" Keiyu batted her eye lash at him and he twitched as Fuyumi sighed, tightening her grip on the ten year old that wanted to launch himself at her. Shouto watched while Toru was sniggering and Gran Torino looked like he wanted to pretend they weren't with him.

Finally Natsuo calmed down when Fuyumi told Keiyu to leave him alone and they agreed on calling him Aki while Fuyumi will be Haru.

Shouto waited for his name to be changed but Keiyu had pouted and said she already gave him one and the matter was dropped.

The first ride they went on was a 3-D performance of a kabuki play that ended with them being sprayed by the 'ocean'. Natsuo to his dismay had his mouth open and spent five minutes washing the gross tasting mist out at the nearest water fountain. There were five sections of the park reminiscent of what Keiyu called the Magic Kingdom of Disney, Gran Torino chiming in with his own memories of the place before asking how Keiyu knew about it. The girl then changed the subject by disappearing up a flight of stairs to a 'coaster' that took them around 'Futureland' on a tour commented by the voice of All Might (Keiyu looked like she quickly regretted it but Shouto enjoyed it.) Due to their height the six and seven year olds couldn't go on a lot of the rides, so Gran Torino watched over them while the older teens went on their own (Keiyu had insisted when Toru wanted to protest, saying some of them needed to learn how to set loose and have fun. Well she said something about taking the stick out- but Toru stopped her from finishing the sentence) Luckily, or not, there were stations for kids to do arts and crafts at and for the first time Shouto found himself holding a crayon and drawing a picture of foxes. (The look on Keiyu's face when he said this made him afraid for some reason and he almost flinched when Gran Torino flicked her forehead for cursing in Russian..)

When he looked at Keiyu's drawing a giggle escaped to his mortification, but it was hard not to when you see a picture of Endeavor in a pink tutu dangling over a pool of sharks and crocodiles with 2 stamped on his forehead.

Unfortunately a fanboy of Endeavor spotted the picture and got into a fight with Keiyu over whether the flame hero was a great hero or not. Gran Torino ended up dragging her away when the boy burst into tears at some of her (accurate) descriptions of Endeavor and her thoughts on the boy's stupidity in liking the guy.

Shouto found some of his reservations melting away at that, even if he wasn't sure what a 'rapist' was.

The look on some of the adult's faces told him it wasn't a good thing.

"I can't take you anywhere," Gran Torino didn't look all that angry as he bought them both an icecream cone and a large pretzel to share.

"Well that boy should pick better role models," Keiyu huffed, before spotting something in the distance and darting off with 'Shamu!' falling from her lips. Shouto stared in shock while Gran Torino smacked his face.

"Oh not again," the two of them caught up with her as she was staring up at a hero with starry eyes and where did she get that fish?

"Um, thank-you?" Gang Orca took the cooked fish and awkwardly patted her head even as other kids and adults gave him a wide berth. His sidekick's shoulders were shaking in suppressed laughter.

Keiyu was rocking back and forth on her feet, asking him a variety of questions that as Shouto got closer, had nothing to do with heroics and more to do about other stuff.

What's steampunk? And why would Gang Orca wearing it make him even more cool-looking?

The villainous looking hero scratched his head as he answered her questions, before both of them paused as Shouto stood next to her.

"This is my little brother Tarou! He wants to be a hero," finding his cheeks burning at the man's attention, Shouto caught the first half of what she said and shot her a look.

"I'm older," she patted his cheek in a condescending manner that made him bristle.

"Whatever you say oto-ut-o," he found himself pouting and Gang Orca chuckled.

"Nice to see siblings getting along, I'll take some of your suggestions into consideration, it was nice seeing you again Mumichi-san," he gave Shouto a wave and disappeared with his sidekick.

"I thought you didn't like heroes," Shouto asked her once their guardian forced them to sit somewhere to finish the melting ice cream.

"Eh? I wasn't interested in him because he's a hero, I just think he looks cool," Gran Torino lightly bopped her head.

"Your lucky he doesn't take offense at you calling him Shamu, even if your the only kid with balls enough to go up to him," a nearby mother gasped and covered her daughter's ears, shooting him a look but he ignored it in favor of raising his hand and getting the attention of Toru and the other two who were approaching. Natsuo looked ashen faced and Fuyumi was supporting him as he tried to walk forward.

"What happened?" Shouto found himself asking, Natsuo groaned,

"Rollercoaster, upside down, bad," and collapsed to the ground.

"Motion sickness," Toru explained, Keiyu hummed,

"Does this mean the raft ride is a no-go?" raft ride? The dread on Natsuo's face was mixed with confusion,

"Does it go upside down?" they went to the dinosaur themed part of the park and Natsuo found that yes, even the raft ride was not a good idea for his stomach.

With Natsuo even more unshaky than before, the group decided to get something to settle all of their stomachs and ended up at a pizza place with an animatronic dancing band that Keiyu eyed wearily.

"If any of their eyes turn red, blast them," she told Toru who rolled his eyes.

"Right," she gave him a look at his doubtful tone but turned her attention to the menu with a narrowed eye. Gran Torino ordered a large cheese pizza but Keiyu ended up ordering a whole wheat crust with pesto sauce, gorgonzolo cheese, and a variety of seafood and vegetables.

"Don't like plain cheese?" Natsuo asked, she held up her medical bracelet.

"My Quirk restricts the type of food I eat, if its unhealthy and serves no purpose, I can't eat it, I tried once," she shivered, "Never again," Toru's haunted look told him not to ask while Fuyumi leaned forward.

"Why does your Quirk do that?" Keiyu shrugged.

"I have no idea, all I know is using it eats up all the nutrients and vitamins in my body and if I do not maintain a certain level, I get a headache, I'm allowed to have coffee though," she said brightly, the other girl frowned.

"Aren't you too young to have coffee?" she looked at the cup of coffee Keiyu was holding, the girl looked down then back up before scooting away and turning in her chair so that she was out of Fuyumi's reach.

"No?" the thirteen year old crossed her arms and gave her a look, Keiyu's eye grew big and teary but Fuyumi wasn't convinced.

"Drinking coffee stunts your growth," she pointed out in a flat voice.

"Then I'll be funsized," Toru's hand smacked into his face at that while Natsuo snorted out the soda he had been drinking, Shouto just watched the conversation in confusion, unsure if he should add his own input or not.

The pizza and breadsticks were good though.

The rest of the day went by relatively peacefully apart from Keiyu egging on Natsuo and Fuyumi, and Shouto finding out that he did not like haunted houses, at all.

Then they came across an indoor skating rink attached to the theater where they watched a movie on a talking dog, on their way to the exit Shouto felt her fingers twitch and saw her staring at the ice rank.

There was a longing, wistful look on her face as she watched the ice skaters dance around one another, and Shouto saw Gran Torino and Toru exchange glances when they saw her expression.

"Do you want to go out there?" he asked awkwardly, she blinked and looked away, almost reluctantly to stare at him.

"Ah, no, no point now," and she walked away, shoulders slumped.

"What was that about?" Natsuo looked bewildered and Toru sighed.

"Let's just say her grandmother had high expectations before finding out she had a Quirk," ok, Shouto knew from overhearing conversations that she lived on an island where Quirks were forbidden.

Did it have anything to do with her missing eye?

Shouto didn't ask any questions, knowing that they won't be answered for some time and not wanting to ruin the day's atmosphere.

He had fun today but there were some things that still confused him about Keiyu, from things she said to some of her expressions.

Ah. He forgot to ask what she meant in that one moment with the kid, he'll ask Fuyumi tomorrow.

"You called Endeavor a rapist in the middle of a theme park?!" Keiyu cringed as Toru burst into the dojo, Izuku and Hitoshi jumping at his sudden entrance before giving her wide-eyed looks.

"It just slipped out," she shrugged, bringing her legs down into a split from the handstand, a bit sheepish and he narrowed his eyes at her.

"You can't just accuse someone of a crime like that without any proof, Fuyumi was really upset when Shouto asked her that question," she averted her gaze,

"Right, isn't buying her from her parents proof enough?" she wasn't sure if she wanted to get into this conversation with him at the moment, even if he should've realized it himself.

"T-that's true, but she could've been willing in some parts," she really wanted to change the topic, especially with the other two looking a mixture of confused and alarm.

"Have you gotten that winged boy's name and number yet?" her sudden question threw him off and he stiffened, shooting looks at her friends.

"No, and there's no need to," she tilted her head.

"Why not? There was a clear connection between the two of you, plus, you were kind of staring at his abs," his entire face turned red and smoke came out of his ears.

"N-no I w-wasn't!" she pouted.

"Fine, you're embarrassed to talk about your crush to your little sister," then an idea hit her, "Why don't you talk to Papa then! Write him a letter?" the blood drained from his face and confusion hit her.

"No! Even if I did have a crush on a b-boy, which I don't, I'm not going to tell him, it was a miracle Gran Torino didn't disown me on the spot!" ooookkk?

"What are you talking about?" seriously why was he freaking out so much?

He didn't answer and she huffed, hopping off the post she'd been balancing on and standing in front of him with her hands on her hips staring at him till he relented with a sigh.

"What if he's disgusted? What if he doesn't want to be my dad anymore because I like g-guys?" seriously, Keiyu felt her eye twitching and saw that Izuku and Hitoshi had looks of concern on their faces as well.

Toru looked down at her expression and flinched as she grabbed his wrist and made him sit next to the others before standing in front of them with a stern expression on her face.

"Um, Keiyu?" she raised a hand and Izuku fell silent as she just stared at them, Hitoshi clearing his throat and trying not to fidget under her stare.

If Keiyu knew about the adults standing in the doorway watching the confrontation, she said nothing as she continued watching them.

Finally she spoke,

"None of you read the books, did you?" the boys fell over and there was a bang from the doorway that she ignored.

"W-what does that-" Toru stopped when she karate chopped him on the head.

"Silence!" she wanted to add 'or I'll keel you' but the anger she felt outweighed that.

"If you had paid proper attention when reading, you would know that there is nothing to be worried about by telling Papa," he was blinking and she groaned, "Hello? Book 6, Cicada? What did you think that interaction was?" she pointed at Izuku who gulped.

"Brotherly friendship?" he shrinked at her glare, "What?! Isn't that what it was?" Keiyu took a breath and shot a glare towards the adults who were just watching them, not saying anything.

"Did you really think their interactions were platonic? Cicada's interest in Papa was anything but, and Papa? Even if Keiko had done plastic surgery and dyed her hair, Papa would never have been interested in her and I highly suspect drug or alcohol use that resulted in my conception. As for the other adults? To put it simply, of our parents here, only Izuku's is hetero," there were blinks aimed at her and she sighed, "Straight, only interested in the other sex?" silence filled the room at that proclamation before laughter burst out from the door as Bakugou Mitsuki fell to her knees, rolling around on the floor as a red faced Inko and amused Hikaru walked in.

"Called out Inko! Called out so bad!" the greenette glared at her laughing friend,

"You're straight too," she pointed out, only Keiyu corrected her.

"Mitsuki-sama's pan," the blonde reached over and high-fived the girl who was giving the gaping woman an innocent look.

"Hah!" Inko huffed and rubbed her forehead, giving Keiyu a look.
"H-how does a six, almost seven year old, know these terms? And this book you keep mentioning, Cicada?" Keiyu heard her friend and brother's intake of breath and shrugged as she turned to them. She was getting tired of keeping the books secret and she could've pointed out knowing Papa's preferences from instances outside the books was obvious; but the adults were getting suspicious about other slip-ups. Plus the irritation at her friends and brother rose, especially with her brother panicking for no reason at all.

So this was better than nothing.

"They would've found out sooner or later," she took out her tablet and brought up the series before showing to them, "There was a book owner in Tsurukosa who sold books published centuries ago and owns his own publishing company. He wrote a book series about your guys' work in the military squad, starting with Papa's first time in Japan and his Quirk activating in defense, the four of us already read them, or at least I did," she glared at her friends/brother while the adults crowded around the tablet, Toru suddenly frowned.
"Wait, were you counting my mom among the group?" Keiyu froze and looked at Hikaru who met her gaze.

"Go ahead," the auditor knew what she was afraid about.

"Ah, it's the other evidence about why I know Endeavor's a rapist," she gave him an apologetic look, "Rei-san or Kitsune, is Ace, or asexual, and I doubt he honored that in his goals for a perfect heir," Toru took that in, face blank, before fire erupted from his hands.

"I'm going to kill him," he seethed, Mitsuki-sama rolled her eyes and flicked his forehead.

"Not so fast, while all these revelations are nice and all, you four were hiding some rather big stuff, is there a reason you didn't tell us about the books from Day One?" the other three avoided her gaze but Keiyu met her gaze straight on.

"I wanted Papa to know first," and considering he wasn't allowed near electronics for the time being, there was no way for him to read the books without others knowing.

"Huh, point," then she paused, "Wait, everything is in here?" Keiyu gave an 'innocent' smile.

"Yep, including your meet-cute- with Falcon, how is that by the way? Since you married him and all," confusion, then realization, then complete anger appeared on the other woman's face before turning to embarrassment when Keiyu gave her a bewildered look, "You didn't know?" she'd taken one look at Masaru and knew who he was, apparently Mitsuki hadn't realized.

"I plead amnesia," the woman's entire face was red and she stalked away, muttering about dealing with Falcon who had known that bastard!

Aunt Inko still had the tablet and Keiyu saw the frown on the woman's face as she scrolled through, so she decided to leave her be and went to Hikaru-san.

"Have you visited Rei-san?" she asked, making the other twitch.

"Her memory hasn't returned yet," 'I don't want her to see me as a complete stranger' was the unsaid fear and Keiyu crossed her arms.

"Maybe having someone she was close with pre-amnesia would help," Hikaru-san ruffled her hair and she pouted, "What? It's true."

"I appreciate it, but until we can figure out how she got her memory erased, I have to stay away," Hitoshi had heard them and a stunned look appeared on his face.

"Wait, you and Kitsune?" Keiyu twitched and grabbed his cheeks, stretching them as he protested.

"Read the books!" it was obvious, so obvious, how could they not see it?

Right, fine, she'll just have to give them a thorough explanation wouldn't she? Their age was no excuse to be confused about their parent's love lives.

Toru saw her expression and a shiver went down his spine, she, she wasn't going to let this go, was she?
